The Best Dive Bars in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"With 26 pool tables, you’ll never have to wait to play at Griff’s. Even if you’re not in it for the pool, take advantage of regular drink deals, pizza, and a friendly crowd. Unlike some of the other nearby pool halls, Griff’s is non-smoking." - Janna Karel

Google
One of the best pool rooms in America and.ive been to a lot of them. Tournaments are run very well. Great food service and drinks. Great place for the serious player or the casual. You might see some serious money games on the two front tables as well. Highly recommend this place.

Great pool hall. Stopped in for a quick Sunday 9 ball tournament while on vacation. Clean, plenty of seating, Diamond tables, great food, and fair pricing.

Anything I have ordered has been very good, well worth it. My grandchildren, whom I bring with me regularly, always have me order their French fries, which I will say I like too. That's another reason I go to Griffs, great pool atmosphere, but a place where you can bring the kids. Taught my grandson how to play there, guess it was a bad idea, he beats me now, regularly. If you play, make sure you stop in, even if you don't stop in anyway, see what an old school Pool Hall looks and feels like. Very relaxed atmosphere. If you visit Vegas, make it one of your places to see.

I'm from Ohio and have been wanting to come here for some time, because...ya know...it's Griff's!! My night here did not disappoint. First let me say Arlenis was fantastic. She was genuine and always there when I needed anything. I bought a shirt from Felicia when I rented the table and she was also super nice. Kudos to management for retaining such good help. As far as the venue, it was everything I hoped it would be. There was a great crowd even though it was a Tuesday night. All the players around me were courteous and friendly. I shot for about three hours and enjoyed every minute of it. They probably have the best seating of any pool hall I've ever been in. It very comfortable and there was plenty of it. My only disappointment was that I had to leave because I had to get up early the next day for work. I easily could have shot for another 2-3 hours. I did not eat anything because they were remodeling the kitchen, so I cannot comment on that. If you're more than a casual pool fan, you probably already know about Griff's. I felt the magic when I was there and I will absolutely come back the next time I'm in town.

I stopped by Griffs and got a table to practice on, meanwhile one of the workers asked how I was doing and I replied that it was extremely humid in the place and I was uncomfortably hot…..the guy replied with how about a nice drink to cool you off? It’s a drink called the Ricky or something like that. He mentioned that it had some gin that you can barely even notice but the mixture of drinks made not only very tasteful but that it would cool me down….I told him to go ahead and make me the drink…..he was right, the drink did cool me off and I played a few hours and left…..once I got home the next day I realized that my Drivers license was misplaced….I called Griffs and guess who answered , the same gentleman who made me the drink the day before…..he was kind enough to send me the license through the mail which I just received today…..I just want to thank Rob for providing such great customer service ……if you ever happen to stop by Griffs pool hall be sure to stop and have a chat and order a drink from Rob…..it was a pleasure.

I came here to teach my brothers a lesson or two. Our servers, Felicia and Christina, were the best! They deserve a raise!

Google
Cool place to come grab a drink, shoot pool and hang out, not to mention they have a kitchen so if I get hungry I don't have to go far. Drinks are reasonably priced also. Tables play nice they are well maintained and the place isn't dirty like other places I've been in the past. Highly recommend.

Corri Goncalves

Google
The place was packed for a Sunday. Didn't have to stand in line forever, and the staff was running around at all times to serve you drinks. Pool tables were in decent shape, considering most of the clientele were between 21 and 30. But overall nice place to go hit some balls and have a few drinks.

Yelp
This review has been long overdue! I love coming to Griff's Bar & Billiards! Tracy, Kandy, Leo , and Brandon are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Good food, great vibe, great drinks, and most importantly a fun time. A couple of my favorites eats are the lemon pepper/cajun wings (xtra crispy) and the Salty Crew beer on draft!

Yelp
My boyfriend and myself came here for a date night . we ordered food and played a little pool . Our food was not good at all . We got a bbq chicken pizza . and it tasted like cardboard . Im upset because we paid $85 for bad food , regular beer , and pool . Our server was very nice on the bright side .

Yelp
Very disappointed!!! They changed happy hour to 3-6pm disregarding their pool league crowds, changed the "deal" from half price appetizers to buy 1 get 1 half price AND raised the prices!!!! You already charge green fees and only give us 30 minutes to practice, we see you care NOTHING about your most loyal customers!!! Guess we will be eating before pool now instead of ordering here!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Big w plenty of pool tables. We have had great service by Chuy' and Brandon everytime we go. Check this place out it's a good time.

Yelp
Welcoming and friendly !! I've seen Griff's featured on tv shows for tournaments and had to stop and play a game. Walking in the parking lot our faces melted from the summer sun then we were hit with the ac and a friendly welcome when we walked through the door. Totally inviting! Tournaments are played here but you can be a newbie and still feel like you're allowed to play. Such a fun and memorable time. Will be back for sure. Thanks for a great time.

Yelp
Came in for a going away party for one of my coworkers and everyone had a good time! The tables are nice and new ( I know they got bar rescued) so everything seemed modern and well put together! Bartenders make great drinks and the people in our group that ate said that the food was really good! There's a lot of pool tables and they were spaced nicely, we were all still together but spread over a few tables so we felt close but not crammed like it feels in some pool halls! Plus it's close to my house so winwin! Will be coming back to scratch that pool playing itch for sure!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place, I recently went to Griff's 7th Birthday Charity Chip Tournament and it was SO much fun. Organized, service was great and we had a club sandwich and a sausage pizza which were yummy! New felt on the tables, clean bathrooms and has a really good vibe. Brandon the manager was very attentive and knowledgeable about everything Griff's! Thanks for a good time and we will be back!

Yelp
We checked out Griffs because we had a long wait time at a KBBQ within the same complex. We went straight to the bar because we weren't looking to play pool. Vanna immediate greeted us and gave us a few recommendations. My wife ended up taking one of her recommendations which turned out really good. From what I can remember it was something called "orange blood moon". Most drinks at bars are either too sweet or too strong on the alcohol side. That drink was made perfectly. We came on a Friday night so it was expected to be a little busy. Most tables were filled with some patrons on the side having a few drinks before a table was ready for them. There was a pretty wide age range in the pool hall. Surprisingly there was a pretty chill vibe inside Griffs! If you're looking to play pool and have a few drinks, I would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Never run a tab .i didn't have cash I ran a tab and Jessica a Griffs waitress and the owner both scammed me for 300$ night rounded up 40$ for pool and 190$ for drinks and Jessica closed the tab and tipped her self 40$ so 270$ they got away with .Ask for pricing or just do go .thank you I hope this helps save someone

Yelp
Went there for the first time yesterday after watching it on bar rescue the African-American gal that was coming on which I think is a manager really stood out. She treated the place and customers better than most owners do I don't leave reviews everywhere I go but I need to on this one super clean and, nice place I went in on April 22 at roughly 3 PM

Yelp
This might just be the BEST BAR & BILLIARDS IN TOWN! And with damn good prices on games, food and drinks! I was here over 8 years ago and it looks like they updated it since then by expanding and adding some amazing finishing touches. It looks way better and it's an enormous pool hall with tons of seating everywhere. Especially the comfortable booths all along the wall and table top seating if you want to munch on some grub while you play. I was here Friday night 2 weeks ago and had a blast with the dudes. I love that the drinks are strong, they definitely don't skimp and it was about $16 for 3 very long games of pool which seemed pretty fair. I also love that played 70s, 80s, 90s rock the whole night which made my night that much more fun-- as everyone was trying to guess which band was playing. Looking forward to doing it again real soon!

Yelp
We stopped by last month for my boyfriend's obsession with pool. This is the place that the pros go, and the place to be for pool. Great place with tons of pool tables. Our server was friendly and so knowledgeable. The place is a little divey. The place is also a dark bar, but super clean. Their menu has everything you would crave for. We had the chicken wings, and it didn't disappoint, nor was it pricey. In fact, their food prices were reasonable. Be sure to grab a souvenir, they sell t-shirts that are super cool. I actually enjoyed it. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Vegas!!
google avatar

Jina R.

Yelp
Awesome place for pool and drinks. Love the Nachos on menu staff is welcoming and come out to your table to check on you for anything you need. Have a jukebox you can download app and play music . Very chill spot unless you get your random groups who think it's a roadhouse but it's pretty much pool music and drinks. Visit often to enjoy close to home.

Yelp
So I used to come to this location as a teenager growing up and it used to be called pool sharks. Now about 20 years later since I been here its now Griffs talk about a whole 360 turn around in a great way! Clean areas, non smoking which in my book is a huge plus. Didn't try any food this go around but will give a try next time around. Service was great bartender made me a good old fashioned and the process of getting a table was super easy.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is definitely a place for billiards enthusiasts. They have a great number of tables with different sizes. We tried getting a table and put our name on the waitlist, but we weren't able to play. We had some drinks and played darts while waiting. The bartender was pretty friendly and checked up on us occasionally, making sure we were ok.
google avatar

Kaiden D.

Yelp
Amazing pool hall. Totally love this place. The staff are great, service is on point!

Sharon H.

Yelp
Great place to go as a family. we took our teenage son to teach him to play pool. Everyone was respectful.

Yelp
Food Is Great For The Place it's in, Pool table is and drinks are the main Attraction! The Service They Try and Make it work with usually a Packed environment!

Yelp
I heard this was the spot to play at in Vegas, and it did not disappoint. It was great seeing so many players at 10:30 in the morning getting their games in. The tables are solid and the price is surprisingly affordable for Vegas. Plus, the food was better than expected! I'll definitely be back soon.

Yelp
I'm from Scotland and looked up pool halls in Las Vegas before traveling with my oldest boy who is 10. My intention was to drop in twice during our week stay but we ended up in here every day. It's the best pool hall I've ever attended and the atmosphere was terrific. The place is full of professionals and top-flight tournament players but we always had a table out of the way. The facilities and tables are excellent. What made the visits all the more memorable was Tracy, who works at the bar. She is one of the most personable and charming people I've ever met and my son absolutely fell in love with her. She was off for a couple of days and he was actually upset. I can't say enough about how well we were treated here and the food was amazing, too. If you're going to Vegas and you like pool, then Griffs is not to be missed. It's the best - period.

Ryan K.

Yelp
We went on a slow Sunday afternoon, the pool tables are half full but very clean and the seats are comfortable. However, one of the challenges I found is with the service. The cocktail folks did not come to our group for any orders or offered any drink selection throughout our session. I did see them have a seat while taking a drink order from a table next to us. Disappointed with their lack of attendance from the service crew. The bartenders were very good and attentive to our orders.

Yelp
During our recent visit to Griff's Pool Hall in Las Vegas, we encountered a few aspects that left room for improvement. While I have some reservations, I believe this establishment has the potential to enhance its offerings and create a more enjoyable experience for customers. One notable area of concern was the equipment. Unfortunately, the pool cues were not in the best condition. They were stored in a bucket without rubber ends and felt sticky to the touch. This affected the quality of the game, making it less enjoyable than it could have been. Furthermore, we observed that the clientele present at the pool hall during our Monday evening visit seemed to be a diverse mix. While some patrons may have given off an impression that made us slightly uncomfortable, it's important to note that this could be subjective and may not be indicative of the establishment as a whole. Regarding the service, we encountered a bit of inconsistency. The waitresses were friendly and provided good service, which we appreciated. However, we did have a less pleasant experience with the person responsible for checking us in. This disparity in the level of service was noticeable but could potentially be addressed through better training and management. As newcomers to the Las Vegas area, this was our first experience with a local pool hall, so we don't have a direct point of comparison. It would be interesting to explore other options and see how Griff's Pool Hall measures up against them. In terms of pricing, one hour of pool along with a beer came to a total of $19. The cost seems reasonable and within an acceptable range for such an outing. While our visit to Griff's Pool Hall had its shortcomings, I believe there is an opportunity for improvement in areas such as equipment maintenance, atmosphere, and service consistency. With some adjustments and attention to customer feedback, this establishment has the potential to become a more desirable destination for pool enthusiasts in Las Vegas. It's great that they have a full food menu and nice bench seating next to the pool tables though.

Phyllis H.

Yelp
Was delighted to play pool here w/a friend. Also had lunch at the back bar...nice and quiet...no loud music, one could converse. The food was exemplary...the bartender. Tracie, very attentive. Only negative was the GREASE SMELL from the exhaust system functioning poorly. Meaning kitchen exhaust.

Yelp
This was a great pool hall off the strip if you're looking to get away a bit from the hectic-ness that is Las Vegas. Not sure if they recently remodeled or just really well kept but they look amazing! It doesn't reek of cigarettes and smoke like other pool hall. They have the option of a 7 ft or 9 ft pool table for you to choose from. Along the sides of the space is booth seating all along that was pretty comfortable and premium feeling. We ordered fried pickles and a whole lotta drinks. The prices were not only reasonable but the drinks are amazing. It is a great place to have a few or a lot of drinks and get day drunk. 10/10

Louie O.

Yelp
The pool was nice; just whatever you do.. don't get the cheesesteak .. Did they eat half of my sandwich?
google avatar

Alexx R.

Yelp
I have limited knowledge on pool halls & overall pool in general but Griff's is by far the nicest one I have been in. Honestly the whole place being non smoking is amazing! All the staff is super friendly and attentive. We had a group of 11 people on a Friday night and got lucky that we were able to have 2 tables next to each other. There was also a tournament going on later in the night, I guess they do a lot of them. The waitresses walk around and take your food/drink orders which is great. The place is pretty big so having to walk up to the bar all night while everyone is playing pool would totally suck. The food is your standard bar food but it's not bad for being at a pool hall. Overall we had a really great time!

Simon T.

Yelp
Spoke with Mgr Brandon abt the tables tonight. Told me that all the tables had new felt on them 6 months ago. I don't believe him. Maybe the 9 ft tables, but not buying it abt the 7 ft tables. Got some rigmarole abt the supplier, they use the best. all the pros who play there, do I know about this and that, blah blah. Quite condescending. Bit my tongue. All I know is that I've been playing pool for a lot of years all over the country, and, imo, the tables are too fast and threadbare. Place is nice overall.
google avatar

Socrates G.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few years now. I have meetups here once a month, and I try to come alone once in awhile to practice. After playing now I can say that I'm not half bad. And neither is Griffs. Give them a shot.
google avatar

San S.

Yelp
Nice billiard and bar! I would return. No smoking inside, which is nice. Spacious and the tables are well-kept.
google avatar

Demond S.

Yelp
I like Griffs alot. I saw it on an episode of bar rescue this year. If you are not familiar with the show, John Tafer and Team are focused on helping bad bars turn the corner. Griffs is one such bar. I was happy to see it in real life. This is a really nice pool bar with an updated bar. I ordered the blood orange paloma drink. Really noce drink to sip on while playing pool. The potato skins were really good as well. But what I saw on most tables were the pizzas. Hot and Cheesy . I played a round of pool. High quality tables and by the looks of the camera equipment, they hold a lot of tournaments there. Worth the visit while in Vegas if you play pool and want a nice bar to eat and drink at.
google avatar

Peggy Lee T.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff overall relaxing fun place. Headed back soon. Wish there was more than one location
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
If you play billiards this is your place. 26 tables, great food and a really friendly staff. BUT the hidden gem is the 15 gaming machines in a Non- Smoking clean air atmosphere. Plus a well stocked bar with over 15 beers on tap.
google avatar

Angie H.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun place to play pool have some drinks with your friends or even play darts you need to come here. Brandon is the best manager and the bartenders are lots of fun.
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
I came to this bar earlier and the bartender was a biracial woman who knew how to serve people and was very polite. After some time on the strip I came back here and asked this man who refused to give me his name for a glass of water or something and he said that he refuses to serve me.. bitch I didn't ask for an alcoholic beverage to drink I asked for a glass of fuckin water. Idk what his issue is but he's why this place gets 1 star. Tf would have a glass of water done to you, you miserable piece of shit. He immediately said he was going to call the police on me. Here he is. "Calling the police" on me for asking for a glass of water.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
A great billiards hall! We went on an early Friday evening and got a table right away. It was clean and spacious and had a nice vibe to the place. We couldn't get the jukebox to work but the music was decent nonetheless. The prices were good and the food was ok. We ordered chicken nachos and onion rings. The nachos were odd, I've never had lettuce piled up over the toppings. You couldn't even see the chips there was so much lettuce. It looked more like a taco salad in my opinion. The chicken was cold sliced deli meat, not chunks of cooked chicken, and it was liquid cheese from a can. Not worth it, but we still ate it since we were hungry. The onion rings were cooked well but they tasted fishy, might be time to change the fryer oil, or cook separately from fish. Overall it was a decent experience and we will be back to play pool, but we will probably eat elsewhere next time.

Yelp
We love coming to Griffs when we want to play pool with our friends. The place is clean and smoke free and kids are also allowed to come. How many places have that?! They have many pool tables in a variety of sizes. There are televisions all around the place so we can watch our favorite sports game while playing and eating. The food is pretty good for bar food. The chicken wings are good and I like to get their jalapeño poppers. Also they have a nice full bar with good happy hour specials on both drinks and food. Jared was our server this last time we went and he was phenomenal!

Daniel G.

Yelp
I don't understand why everytime I come here I get double charged. The second charge is still pending but it took all the money out of my account and now I need to wait for my money to come back to my account
google avatar

Carol G.

Yelp
We've been to The Griffin many times and love it. This time the service was terrible. Bartender was super slow and kept saying sorry we just got slammed, but it wasn't that busy. When we finally got our drinks they were terrible so watered down. So sad because the Griffin is something we look forward to in Vegas.
google avatar

Susan A.

Yelp
Upside: Plenty of Pool Tables Fairly priced beer Smoke Free !!!! Good Vibes Downside: Drink service on floor is poor. DO NOT run a tab. You will get stuck with her! Go get your own drinks from bartender! Same server--Rude and indifferent server. She passed the food to people to pass down table instead of just walking around the table. She took three of four orders and just walked away. I had to call her back! Food was meh. OVERALL yes we will go again but eat before you go. Love playing pool and darts here!

Yelp
For a simple pool hall, this place seriously impressed me. Though the wait staff could have been a lot more attentive and present, everything else was exceptional. I mean, they had features we don't even find in Clicks Billiards in El Paso such as.. -cushioned benches at every table, complete with a side table for your drinks and food -score racks to keep track of games won -even notches to lay your pool sticks down without having to worry about them doing a barrel roll off the side of your table Heck, even the bar has a cushioned end to lay your arms on while you're waiting for an available table. The whole place is so cozy, it makes me wonder how many sleeping drunks they've had to kick out of this place for getting too comfy. The pool sticks were of decent quality for the most part. None of them seemed bent or anything, which is good for us out-of-towners who can't carry with us our custom pool sticks like we do back home. I also like that the music isn't overbearing to the point of having to scream your score at your opponent. I was equally impressed at their full menu of food, even though we didn't order anything. Though I can only imagine how long I would have had to wait, considering I couldn't even get the waitress to come back with a second drink. That's really my number one complaint about this pool hall; the lack of floor service. Anyway, if you're visiting the Vegas area and are looking for a place to shoot billiards, Griff's is possibly your best bet. They charge only $10 an hour (as opposed to the $20/hr at ZT8) and sometimes run a special. Just beware of the dubious floor service. I'm giving Griff's 4 cushy benches plush enough for drunks to pass out on out of 5.

Yelp
Came in here while we were waiting for Korean bbq table. Such a good price for billiards! Had fun with some friends and they had really good service. Would come back here!

Yelp
07/25/2023 I've been going to Griffs for years. My wife and I love the place...well, used to. Because of this crazy world we live in, whenever I'm out with my wife or daughters, I'm armed. Every time that I've gone into Griffs, I've been armed, with ZERO issue. Today my wife and I had been there several hours, with my pistol on my hip. All of a sudden the bar tender walks up and informs me that I have to leave, due to my gun. Evidently "Brandon", the "Manager",had an issue with it, and he wasn't even there. He was watching on the CCTV system. There's no sign on door, I wasn't asked to leave it in car, we were just made to leave. The service has really gone down hill lately, and now I guess I know why. I'll never be back, and a bunch of my friends won't either. Also, the atmosphere when the sun goes down leaves alot to be desires. So, if you go, I'd recommend going before 2pm. And whatever you do, make sure you don't even have a knife, as I'm sure Brandon has run out of safe places to run.... Mike

Yelp
I've came here a few times to watch friends play pool tournaments. What I love is that that you can track pool games by the balls above the pool tables where the lights are at. It's very apparent who is winning and losing. The drink prices are about $10 a cocktail do From their specials. They added a QR code service option. This is good because I had difficulty getting service in the past. I'm able to bring by child here for a good smoke free environment. It's hard to find baby friendly place, but this is definitely one. Also there is ample seating to enjoy the matches.

Cory B.

Yelp
Absolute heaven on earth for poolplayers, the best action, tables and vibe for real poolplayers.

Crizel P.

Yelp
Food is ok, it's what you'd expect for a billiards place.. staff was really nice even though our party was pretty big and kept ordering multiple times they weren't annoyed with us lol... ambiance is perfect no smoking.. I love that I get to hang out have a few drinks with friends and not have my hair and clothes smell like an astray at the end of the night
google avatar

Gary F.

Yelp
The last time I was in this place, it was called Pool Sharks. The tables were decent for the most part, but like every other pool hall in town, it reeked of smoke (and so did you after a tournament)... the floors were uneven in places... the chairs/stools were on their last leg... and you had to hold your breath to go to the bathroom - oh, and I usually walked to the international market around the corner to get decent food. All I can say is wow, what a transformation. I'll have to spend more time in there before I rank it as the #1 pool hall that I've ever been to... but it's on the short list for sure. Great remodel job - looks nice, doesn't smell like a stale ashtray, plenty of seating area for rail birds, cozy area for hanging out off to the side, plenty of TVs, thoughtful layout re: the pool players (and even teams for league), nice lighting, nice highlighting, boardroom type colors with hunter green & wood paneling, tasteful art... just really well done. Classy. Congrats. Do we give the credit to Sunny?? I was hungry so I ate - nice looking menu, and the food I had was great. I had the Mosconi Meatball Sandwich. Very tasty. I substituted Onion Rings and those were great as well. I washed all that down with Diet Coke and the staff was very attentive in bringing me refills (as usual, I was thirsty in the dry air of Las Vegas). I can't say that I'm a fan of the Cyclop balls, but I guess that's a personal issue that I'll have to take up with my therapist. At least they're clean and shiny Cyclop balls. Thanks for making 3650 S Decatur a nicer place.

Yelp
Best pool hall in Vegas I've been to so far. Tables are plentiful and well kept for being busy. Staff was pretty friendly and attentive.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Honestly the best pool hall i have ever been to in my life! All Diamond tables that are well kept. Food and drinks are well priced and the service is great! We had our kids with us and they to had a great time playing. The servers and staff were very nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back for sure. Ps. Im pretty sure that was venom playing next to us

Yelp
Ambiance was great. Love how large the room was. Tables were clean, professional quality. I see why many tournaments are hosted there

Great place to hangout and shoot pool. Highly recommend it. Customer service was excellent as well as the pricing of tables and beer
