The 10 Best Bloody Marys in Houston | Eater Houston

"This divey Irish pub tucked away on a residential street in Montrose is famous for its Sunday Bloody Sundays, in which the bartenders set up an entire dress-your-own-mary bar. Come early, watch some Houston sports, and have it your way — spicy, salty, however you like it." - Brittanie Shey

Can you believe that this place was up in flames a year ago? Now it's back in business and smells so fresh. So many upgrades, come see for yourself!! Let's start with a few changes. They now have almost 20 TVs so there are lots of places to view your sports or shows. The surround sound that they had installed is phenomenal, it's loud and clear! Something I want to see is how they handle football season. If I can watch my team in a corner by myself this place will be my spot forever. The layout that they have now is so much more open and spacious. Now let's talk about alcoholic beverages. They have draft beer so around 10+ spouts and they are fully stocked on spirits. So pick your poison. The bartender is so responsive and good at their job. The food is amazing!!! Try it! I recommend the wings! The menu has a lot of options. But something I like the most is the condiment caddy. It has all your needs. COME HERE BRING YOUR GROUPS AND HAVE FUN! The most important thing is that the people are cool and the employees are relaxed and patient. Remember this spot is still new, so give it some time to develop. I live down the road so I will be a frequent flyer!! **Oh by the way if the ASTROS are playing they give jello shots to all patrons when a HOMERUN is made! They are strong and delicious.** **They also have a jukebox machine to play music so come play your jams when there isn't sports on the TVs** **clean restrooms too!** **I would like to see some live music coming soon!**

My friend’s CPA is across the street from the restaurant and we decided to stop in on a Sunday after church. Griff’s is not a place that we had eaten before so we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and service. The food was delicious and every time the Texans scored they gave out free Jell-O shots! We’ll definitely visit again!

I had a great time here! It was my last night in Houston and I was dying for an Irish pub near my hostel. Found Griff’s and spent a few hours there. I sat at the bar, drank, ate, and met a lot of cool people. All on a Monday night. Metro Detroiter approved :) I was there in mid-August and I was told about the fire. It looked fixed up well so I couldn’t even tell, but the stories I was told about that place had me laughing a lot. I love a good dive, and even better if everyone speaks fondly of its good ol days.

Griff's: Great Game Day Grub and Friendly Chaos (4/5 Stars) I stopped by Griff’s on a massive college football Saturday, and let me tell you, the place was absolutely buzzing. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate spot, this isn't it—the atmosphere was incredibly loud and energetic, which is exactly what you want from a true sports bar on game day. The food was definitely the highlight. I ordered the burger, which was solid and juicy, but the real star of the show was the side of tater tots. Seriously, these are great tots—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfectly seasoned. They alone are worth the trip. The only real speed bump of the visit was the service. Given how slammed the bar was for college football, it’s understandable, but the service was noticeably slow. However, the entire staff was exceptionally friendly and clearly hustling, so it was easy to forgive the wait. Verdict: Griff’s is a fantastic spot to catch a game, especially if you prioritize excellent bar food and a lively crowd. The friendly staff makes up for the slower service. A strong 4 out of 5 stars!

Went out on a Tuesday to take advantage of "steak night!" Website priced it at $16.95 but upon explanation from the waitstaff, was told the price was $25, and included a beer! I don't drink alcohol & was told that was the price! Ribs eye & baked potato, with potato fixings on a table near the kitchen! Skip the mushrooms if you want fresh, these definitely came from a can! My $50 check only included 2 more dollars because of the writer's attitude of beer or nothing drink option!

Griffs is back! The new building is awesome with around 20 TVs to watch sports. The menu with lunch and dinner specials is also back. They do a really good steak night. Trivia night is also a big deal. The people are friendly and an eclectic mix. Griffs is an easy going, neighborhood bar that welcomes people from all over the city.

We have lost so many good watering holes over the years. Griffs is back! Thank God. 2025 has been a tough year for a lot of us. We as city needed this place back. Now I can go watch sports, eat delicious wings, hangout with friendly people, and have a nice cold beverage. New imagine, same awesome spot. Thank you for making a hella comeback!!! I highly recommend the Buffalo wings.

First time going here since the old location burned down. Food was good, as well as the service, but please don’t call yourselves an Irish bar when the only Irish beer you have is Guinness. No Smithwicks, no Kilkenny, not even Harp. Very disappointing.
