Griff's: Great Game Day Grub and Friendly Chaos (4/5 Stars)
I stopped by Griff’s on a massive college football Saturday, and let me tell you, the place was absolutely buzzing. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate spot, this isn't it—the atmosphere was incredibly loud and energetic, which is exactly what you want from a true sports bar on game day.
The food was definitely the highlight. I ordered the burger, which was solid and juicy, but the real star of the show was the side of tater tots. Seriously, these are great tots—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfectly seasoned. They alone are worth the trip.
The only real speed bump of the visit was the service. Given how slammed the bar was for college football, it’s understandable, but the service was noticeably slow. However, the entire staff was exceptionally friendly and clearly hustling, so it was easy to forgive the wait.
Verdict: Griff’s is a fantastic spot to catch a game, especially if you prioritize excellent bar food and a lively crowd. The friendly staff makes up for the slower service. A strong 4 out of 5 stars!
