7 Spots for Exceptional Takeout in Asheville, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Griff’s Kitchen and Bar debuted this fall with a relatively expansive takeout menu ranging from shrimp and grits to grain bowls. But the most popular dish by far, says chef and co-owner Ian Griffin, is the Griff’s burger, a blend of house-ground, locally sourced chuck, short rib, and brisket topped with caramelized onions, slow-cooked tomatoes, arugula, and roasted garlic aioli served with hand-cut fries. “I knew that if we were going to put a burger on the menu, it had to be good,” he says. Also a customer favorite, he adds, are the house-made pecan sticky buns. But those looking for something lighter can opt for a different kind of bun — orange-glazed pork shoulder steamed buns that Griffin describes as “like a sandwich, but better.” Also on the lighter side is the grain bowl, featuring Farm and Sparrow farro with sweet potato hoisin, dinosaur kale, charred apples, purple sweet potatoes, goat cheese, sweet and salty pecans and a honey-apple cider syrup. Griff’s is currently open for takeout only with ordering by phone or via the website." - Gina Smith

Google
A nice place! We were looking at a place to squat on the tail end of our journey and chose this place. Definitely, a winner! I loved the decor and loved it even more when I saw that there is a local book club that meets there. The vibe was so chill and it was a lovely break. I chose the Big Cheese with a side of fries. The charred flavor in the bread swept my taste before getting my teeth into them. This sets up as a carryover into the cheese and uplifts a normally bland food choice. Even the fries had a yummy aftertaste. I try to limit condiments, feeling that it cheats the food of its time to shine. However, these starched lovelies can stand on their own without any help. The Man had 'The Fowl Reckoning', a truly avipros description. The Man loved the flavor and pushed through the sandwich like someone was going to take it from him. The side salad paired nicely, he said, but didn't overpower his choice. Nice decor, good service, great food...a true trifecta...

I have been there three times and the service has been great, very friendly, and the food was on point. I had the Griff burger with salad and fries. This last time I tried the chicken bites and the seasonal salad with grilled chicken. The bites were very good! Although simple you could tell there was a lot of effort and pride put in to it, and the price was fair. Very glad I came back, will be visiting here again! Great atmosphere and food. I would highly recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Smaller menu selection but pretty well done. My husband had the clam pasta which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the udon with shrimp. It was a little too saucy for me, but the noodles and the shrimp were perfectly prepared. Loved the atmosphere and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Worth going back! The last time we had takeout though, the fries that came with the burger were burnt. The classic burger I think was better than Griff's burger. The description of the Griff burger was good but the flavors were a little lacking. For the bulgogi fries: It would have been nice to have little more bulgogi and kimchi served with it. From what I could taste, it didn't taste like the authentic bulgogi I grew up eating and making; however, the flavors weren't bad. So overall, I still enjoyed it. EtA: I was sad to see the bulgogi fries were no longer on the menu! Tried the bulgogi sandwich today. I was really excited because it sounded really good with the kimchi and bulgogi topped with a gooey fried egg. The concept was great! But it was a too salty and heavy handed on the soy. It unfortunately masked the other flavors that should be seen with bulgogi: the garlic, the sesame oil, the onion with a little sweetness from the sugar and pear or apple.. This combination is what makes a good bulgogi. With a little tweaking and a little more kimchi, this sandwich would be phenomenal! EtA 2: My kids both had there typical cheeseburger and fries which they love. They nailed the temperature of the burgers every time. However once my son tasted my shrimp n grits he decided the food I ordered was better. He therefore gave the classic burger 4/5 and the shrimp n grits 5/5. I loved the shrimp n grits as well though the bacon bits were more of a jerky consistency. I loved how the green onions added a freshness to the dish as well. My husband enjoyed the fish n chips as well. This place is definitely one we like to visit on the few times we go out to eat. EtA 3: we went back for an anniversary lunch where my husband ordered the broccoli tempura and shrimp buns. The shrimps as always were delicious and the tempura on the broccoli was light, crisp and not greasy. The tempura sauce drizzled over was spot on. The size of the broccoli honestly was so big that at first we thought it was a platter of drumsticks ! So be sure to bring your appetite when ordering! I decided to try something new: korean fried chicken sandwich topped with kimchi, green onions and garlic aioli. The flavor of the sandwich itself wasn't bad, but it was not what it was purported to be. Korean fried chicken should be crispy, often double fried for extra crispness then covered in a sweet spicy gochujang sauce. The sandwich I was eating, had a soggy coating while it's taste was more reminiscent of a buffalo chicken. The rich umami taste for which gochujang is known was severely lacking (...though I you might catch a hint of it if you suck on the breading long enough.) The sandwich got so soggy that it was literally falling apart in my hands. The kimchi topped on the chicken is not what i would call kimchi. It had such a strong vinegar taste that it seemed more like a quick pickled cabbage with gochugaru that you will often find when eating chulpan gui. This is also something I enjoy. Therefore while i would disagree with the name and the description of the dish itself due technical errors in executing the dish, the flavors were quite nice, and the portion was more than adequate. I ended up taking home some of the chicken and sweet potato fries where my kids tasted it and thought the chicken tasted like chicken wings. 3/5 stars on this dish

Local gem tucked away in small plaza. Delicious food. Had the teriyaki fried chicken sandwich for a late lunch and it was great! Definitely recommend.

We were in the area and found Griffs on Google. We stopped in for an early dinner and what a jewel we found! I had the pork shoulder on risotto. It was delicious! My partner had the fish and fries which he really enjoyed. To top it off we shared the chocolate topped cheesecake. Yum!! I loved the decor, music and atmosphere of the restaurant. The service was excellent. Thank you Chris for taking such good care of us and the coffee with Baileys was the perfect ending. I hope we can get back soon Teri and Greg

Google
Wow! In a world where EVERY restaurant serves the equivalent of Mrs Paul's fish sticks and calls them fish and chips, Griff's stand apart. Truly fresh fish, delicate breading. The accompanying fries are delicious. But that fish is worth the trip.

Google
I am visiting from out of town and came here on a weekday afternoon and was quickly sat by a friendly person at the bar. We got to talking and turns out he is the owner and designer of the menu. I got the falafel pita and a side salad with champagne vinaigrette (!! Never seen before and it is amazing!) Good food in a clean environment

Google
We are thrilled to have Griff’s Kitchen nearby. We’ve started eating there regularly and it literally does not disappoint. I am not kidding when I say this is some of the best food in Asheville. If you don’t live nearby, it’s worth the drive. Excellent service, and I cannot say enough about the food-creative combinations, a menu that changes with the seasons, and well-crafted cocktails.

Yelp
I returned to Griff's to try the dinner menu. I had the gnocchi, spouse had the pork shoulder. We shared the arancini for an appetizer, and then the chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great.

Yelp
We have been eating here for about a year now, the food is absolutely amazing every single time. The service is next level 11/10 every single time. For candler and even Asheville this restaurant is 5 Stars. The restaurant feels Michelin level..

Yelp
Our small group (three couples) recently had dinner at Griff's and really enjoyed it. We had done take out from Griff's before but eaten there before. I think each of us had an appetizer and main, or perhaps two small plates/salads. Service was very good. I know I really enjoyed my classic burger with fries, and the price ($14) wasn't bad. Although I usually prefer a double patty smash burger, Griff's single patty cheeseburger was excellent, and cooked medium to my exact order. Fries were top-notch, too. Several people at our table had salads, which were enjoyed, and the starter portion of short ribs was quite large, enough for an entree. Drinks and wines were generous pours, though not inexpensive. However, overall the pricing (in these expensive times) was fair. I think the full meal for my wife and me, with a total of one beer and one cocktail, was around $75 before tip. My only markdown would be on the noise level. On a Thursday night, the small restaurant was fairly busy but not full, yet the noise level due to the lack of sound baffles or plants was pretty loud. I often couldn't hear the conversation at the other end of the table. Parking, next to what for many decades was the Enka post office, is great. We'll be back, especially for the burger.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing, everything. Even the fries are divine! if I could rate it higher, I would. The staff are super friendly and amazing in general. Getting the food is a bit of a wait but, its really not bad especially since the food is so good. The inside is sweet and simple not much to see and I really like it because its not like my ADHD on the walls.

Yelp
Food was SO good. This is a great place for an out of Asheville meet-up with locals. We had a business networking event here because it is was quiet so we could hear each other, and a bit farther out from town. The food was excellent. I had a salmon salad that was delicious and bao shrimp buns also equally great. The blackberry margarita amazing! The star loss is do to staffing. Our waitress was phenomenal and so sweet, yet was overseen crying in the back and shared that they were short staffed and she was called in on her day off. She was clearly overwhelmed, and there did not seem to be any other employees nearby. So food and service was very slow, and we reassured her it was okay and we understood it wasn't her fault. Hopefully, management takes note to make some more hires. Otherwise, I'd definitely pop back in if in the area.

Yelp
Locally owned restaurant an it was by far the best shrimp an grits I have ever had!! The service was amazing waitresses were super polite an attentive an the black berry margarita was out of this world!!

Yelp
Good food, everything we ordered was hot and fresh. Drinks were also very good. However; we went on a Friday night and were seated right away, but were informed the kitchen was not taking anymore orders until they filled to go orders. It took over an hour to get any food (including bread and butter). This isn't the ideal place for hungry kids.

Chandrakant D.

Yelp
My parents brought my wife and I here while we were visiting Asheville and we had an amazing time. Amazing food, great service, fantastic cocktails. The pork shoulder was some of the best I have had and my wife loved the blackberry margarita. We will be back next time we are in town!

Yelp
Overall, it was a great experience. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Cute decor and plenty of seating. The pricing seemed a little on the higher end but drink variety (cocktails, wine and local brews) were fantastic. Even had some mead, which we had to try! Service was personable, timely, and helpful. We will be back. - Mead. Traditional was mine and was delicious with a healthy pour. Not too sweet and tasted rich and smooth. Wife got elderberry and she loved it, though it was a bit too sweet for my pallet - Two appetizers: shrimp buns were delicious with a bit of a kick. Read a review that it was too spicy so I warned my wife but she enjoyed it too. The buns were perfectly cooked and decadent while shrimp arugula and aioli meshed quite nicely. Mac and cheese was very good but not spectacular, though we are a bit snobby when it comes to mac and cheese, but these were cooked perfectly and the breadcrumbs added that great texture on top - Shrimp and grits was very good but could have used a bit more spice, IMO - Cast iron salmon was very very good. Carmelized and cooked to perfection. Not too fishy and not too moist but definitely not dry. - Shrimp dumplings were awesome too. Great texture with a little kick. Could have used a slight drizzle of something to finish but loved as is - Bread pudding was very good as well. - My old fashioned was awesome. Made very well

Yelp
Traveling in NC on Christmas Eve and was looking for a good place to stop and eat. Found it! Griff's was open and we had a great meal. We ordered the Classic Burger and it was wonderful. We also ordered an Egg Nog Cheese Cake to go. It looks amazing, we saved it for later. If you're ever in the Asheville, NC area, I would suggest you stop in and give Griff's a try. You will not be disappointed. The service is great, the food is really good and the ambience is quite relaxing.

Yelp
This is an undiscovered gem in Candler NC that is easily accessible from Asheville. There is plenty of parking available unlike downtown Asheville. We were greeted promptly and seated at a table. The service was impeccable and the food was some of the best we have ever had, don't miss the Turnip soup! It was smooth and delicious with bits of cooked bacon in it and smoked clams in the shell on top. We could have eaten a gallon of it! The main courses of pork shoulder with braised cabbage was outstanding! The ricotta gnocchi were little light pillows of goodness and the roasted squash and apples were the perfect complement. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in the Asheville area

Yelp
The food was excellent, but....something happened in the kitchen and my udon did notcome out until my partner was just about done with her Gnocci, which was also excellent. The house salad was about 4 leaves of romaine lettuce with the dressing on the side. The butternut squash soup was fantastic. The staff, die to the entree screwup, did not charge us for thebudon. We jad a coffee and 2 sierra nevada beers. Total bill would have been with my entree, pre tip, about $70. This did include a 3% charge for the kitchen staff ( new to me). Service was slow, despite our simple meal, meant we were there 2 hours, not that we were in a hurry. And they were apologetic about the entree screw up. Due to them taking off the price of the late entree with no request from us, nor complaint, and the very tasty entrees and soup, we would give this place another chance.

Yelp
Advertisement does NOT match service provided. If you offer delivery on your site, then say you do not have any delivery people available for days you should come up with alternate solutions. As a small business owner myself I can assure you that consumers are willing to pay extra to get the service desired. Perhaps contract with UBER eats or another food delivery service and pass the cost on to the consumer but never say sorry we can't deliver at the moment due to our people being out. There is always a solution to every problem......

Yelp
The food is to die for!!! Had dinner with my friends who live nearby. It's their favorite place and I know why. Scallion pancakes, shrimp buns, Mac & cheese. Then we had a burger, gnocchi and udon with brisket everything was excellent!
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
We came here (suggested to us). To start , we had a few drinks , wine which was good but very small glasses. I had a raspberry margarita, again small and charged 14 dollars for it. The bruschetta app was VERY good. After putting our dinner orders in, it took over a half hour for our food to come out and we were the only ones in there. The salmon was tasty but the pork chop my wife had was tough for her liking. We skipped desert . It's a nice place but very pricy and drinks are small and expensive .

Yelp
We scheduled a reservation and arrived at Griff's at 8:00 pm on a Friday evening. This restaurant is tucked away on the outskirts of Asheville near Candler off Sandhill Rd. If you aren't able to make it to the establishment in person, they offer delivery through Kickback. Kickback delivers farther than any of their competitors; Weaverville, Leicester, Candler, Swannanoa and beyond. So there's no excuses not to try this. They weren't super busy, so we were sat quickly. The ambience was clean, quiet, elegant without being overly stuffy, and pleasant to the eye. Our server addressed us quickly, and checked on us frequently throughout the dining experience without being over bearing. We ordered the shrimp buns as an appetizer. We overlooked the spicy in the description, therefore I wasn't really able to enjoy the appetizer, however my husband said that they were absolutely delicious. The whole shrimp was cooked perfectly, nice note the greens complemented the bun well with the garlic aïoli. The pepper mash was spicy but not overbearing and it is dependent on your personal spice comfort level. I ordered the hamburger with fries. The fries were thick and cooked perfectly and very delicious. Almost reminded me of a double cooked french fry. The burger however, was another story. The pretzel bun sounds like a great idea as I am sure it will soak up the juices in a properly cooked burger. But, if the burgers over cooked, it can do the opposite and make the burger taste overly dry. With that being said, I would much rather give them another chance before finalizing my overall review on the establishment. They went well above and beyond my expectations of making things right. My husband ordered the chicken confit with Farro and roasted turnips. The chicken confit was cooked to perfection, cooked exactly how it was supposed to be cooked and tasted exactly how it is supposed to taste. The Farro added a nice nutty crunch and complemented the richness of the duck confit. Overall, our experience was amazing. The service was top notch and they went above and beyond all expectations. I was really shocked to see that the tables weren't full because the food definitely warrants a packed house. Perhaps I found our perfect little secret where we can get gourmet meals at an affordable price with little wait time? I partially hope the word gets out because the food is too good not to share; and I partially hope no one else finds out because I'm selfish like that. Lol. But if I want them to stick around, then the word needs to get out. I, hands down, recommend this place. If you only have time to eat at 3 restaurants in Asheville, make sure this is one of them.

Yelp
While vacationing at a cabin nearby, we decided to look for a good place to eat without driving into Asheville - and we found it! This place is AWEsome! I had a grilled salmon which was flavored to perfection! This is definitely a restaurant of the caliber you'd find in a big city. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were attentive - just an all-around great experience. Also was able to talk to the chef - great guy! Would I come here again - you bet!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
The shining star of Candler! A fabulous family owned restaurant with exquisite dishes that look familiar yet offer unique flavor twists that send tastebuds soaring! Not only wonderful for locals but worth the drive from Asheville - really. Highly recommended.

Maria M.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and my husband says their burgers are very good. I haven't been quite as impressed with my choices. I got a pork shoulder dish once that I thought was too fatty. The second time I got a salad that was very good, but I wished I'd gotten more food. Like most places these days, I think their prices are a little too high. Both times, service has been very polite and attentive, but also very slow. I think they need more help in the kitchen.

Hal J.

Yelp
We're in Asheville for a quick weekend visit and just happened upon Griff's Kitchen. What a gem! The staff and service were exemplary. They have a killer old fashioned, as well as a few excellent non-alcoholic drinks for the kids and non-drinkers. We sat outside to save the rest of the dining room from our unruly children, but the bar and restaurant have a great, lively atmosphere. The menu is well curated with something for everyone. The arancini was some of the best we've had. The shrimp and grits? 5 stars. The classic burger? 5 stars. the pork shoulder? 5 stars. You get the point. A truly exceptional meal. Also, while our 1.5 year old decided he wasn't going to eat tonight, the whole table benefitted from his poor choices because guess what? The kid's menu grilled cheese has no business being on a kids' menu. OH. MY. GOODNESS. Don't walk, run to Griff's if you have any interest in a great meal! We're going to go back for lunch before we leave (that $6 BLT is calling my name)

Yelp
Griff's has been coming up on my radar for a few weeks now, we finally decided to stop in and grab a quick drink at the bar. I got a cocktail while my honey enjoyed a local draft beer. We knew we had dinner at home so strictly told ourselves just drinks. I've been checking out others reviews so I knew the food looked tasty but next time. I keep eye balling them skrimp rolls. Nom nom nom! We were told the menu changes seasonally and I am a big fan of that, just have to make sure you fill up on what ya like while they have it. There was one server working, you could tell she was busy and needed help but Asheville is understaffed currently. So please be patient. She was nice and was doing a fantastic job getting things done. The place was poppin for a Thursday night and we could tell most of them were regulars. A few take out orders where they were known by name, so that's a great sign. The inside tables are still placed a significant distance apart and there is a hand sanitizing station + mask offered at the host stand. The bar is gorgeous I just wish it had a little more flair. It's tastefully decorated none the less. The outside area is nice but its a shopping plaza so not much for ambiance. All in all, cute place and I look forward to going back!

Larry A.

Yelp
our weekly go to place for the Griffs burger and fries!!! You can order it rare and heat it up at home. Sit and have a cold beer at the bar while you wait. Life is good!!

John J.

Yelp
My one memory of this place is that they felt like they were just getting used to themselves and we're very uptight to have us in the restaurant. It was not a welcoming or nice experience. They were pretty choppy around the edges like about their beer, selection, and food choices for the particular day.

Sue W.

Yelp
Only one server on a busy Friday night, but she did a tremendous job. I recommend getting a reservation. Cocktails are worth trying. The food was outstanding; we had small plates and a couple of main dishes and all were delectable, from the presentation to the delicious taste. And unlike many bar/grill restaurants, conversations are possible.

Yelp
Love this place. The staff is so friendly. The friend pickles are amazing. It's a small place, but very comfortable.

Yelp
Stopped by after a touring. Excellent roasted pork shoulder & steak. Didn't have the martini I wanted but experimented with bartender & creates new drink that was very good. Great service!

Yelp
Great little find! Behind the old Enka nylon plant, adjacent to the Enka Buncombe library branch. Don't miss it. Husband and wife do doing freshly prepared, locally sourced foods. Friend and i shared the salmon salad...FANTASTIC! Fresh greens tips with a generous filet of salmon perfectly cooked, slightly crisp on surface, pink and moist inside. I had the grain bowl... excellent! Fresh asparagus, local mushrooms, and grains done in a light sauce sprinkled with parmesan cheese. My friend's burger was freshly ground here, perfectly cooked, served with handcut fries. Awesome! Nice beer and wine selection. Craft cocktails coming soon. Nicest server too! Helpful in suggesting choices but not pushing. Currently only one dessert.. we tried it! Homemade strawberry "shortcake" !! Yogurt based sauce, but the cookie was excellent... not a cake but crisp sweet, nice complement! Didn't feel guilty eating it... nice and light. Owner came out to say hi. Can't wait to come back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Mediocre food, prices were a bit higher that expected for the quality. Convenient location tho.

Yelp
Excellent service and quality eats! The menu was well thought out and had unique offerings for any palate. Will recommend and return!

Yelp
Delish, great portions, excellent seasoning! The burger was really good, definitely get the chocolate cake.

Yelp
I just spent 10 days touring North Carolina. I wanted to make the last night of vacation the best and decided to have dinner at Griff's. Everything was perfect: the ambiance, the wine list, the service and most of all the food. I had the grilled pork shoulder with a pear glaze, braised cabbage, spiced winter squash and caramelized pears. The flavors in each bite melded together perfectly. It was a very generous serving; I ate every last bite! Highly recommend Griff's if you are in the Asheville area.
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Food was ok. Went in on a Thursday and they were out of steak. We arrived at 5:45 so it wasn't like it was later in the evening. It took 45 mins to get food. Other parties came in after us and were served with their food prior to ours. Was told this place was great but sadly our experience didn't reflect that.

Thom L.

Yelp
Second time and tried the burger, delicious and inventive menu. Support this gem. Locally focused food, unique ethnic influences. So good!

Suz F.

Yelp
Awesome food and people. Salads are a salad eater's heaven and wine list is well considered.

Yelp
Best food and cocktails in Candler. They are a hidden gem. All the meals are tremendous. They put a lot of work into their craft. I love Great interior ambience and super friendly service. Go check them out ! Ps look for their new sign. Can't give a higher endorsement! Rehearsal dinners - appetizers- drinks at the bar

Yelp
Griff's is my favorite restaurant right now. Tonight we had the shrimp buns and the dim sum pancakes to start. Both were excellent. The salads are great and I love the fact that the menu varies on a frequent basis. Service is always top-notch and the wait staff are attentive but not overly so. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
A friend and I were visiting Asheville and the Parkway area and stayed in Candler. Rather than drive into Asheville proper, we decided to check out what was local one evening and due to some good reviews, decided to give Griff's a try. We were SO glad we did. The restaurant is in a small strip that's unassuming, but don't let that stop you... the food was A-mazing! We both had a chicken dish that was out of this world... reminded me of food I had in southern France. If you're on the fence, don't wait - JUST GO!! Before it gets discovered and you can't get a seat.
google avatar

Robert A.

Yelp
This new restaurant was recommended by a friend and I am glad we tried it. We had the grilled salad with salmon. Grilled salad?!? Yes! And Griff's Burger. The food is delicious. We met one of the owners (Gina) who brought us our food and spoke about the local sources farms. We are looking forward to when the dining room opens in the next few weeks, but until then, we are planning on returning for the steamed pork belly and vegetarian buns!
google avatar

Ginger A.

Yelp
We are traveling from Florida for the Hot Dog It 100 mile race and happened upon this place off Yelp! Very nice surprise! My husband had the steak which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented! I had the Salmon also perfect! The chef is wonderfully talented! The atmosphere post Covid is minimal, clean and pleasant! Great wait staff! Try the shrimp buns for starters and your palate will thank you!!

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
This is a special place. The food is outstanding. The servers are super nice. We've had several great meals there. Finally we have a great place in Enka-Candler-Biltmore area!

Yelp
We found this hidden gem on Yelp while visiting Asheville. We sat at the bar and enjoyed engaging with Amanda while having a few cocktails and dinner. We loved it so much we came back the next night. We had the lettuce salad, cioppino, and butternut squash pasta the first night and the Caesar salad, udon noodles and brisket the second night. Everything was absolutely delicious! We also had the chocolate layer cake for dessert, which was equally delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Asheville!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in the Asheville area. Food was delicious and service relaxed and friendly. I'll go back!

SoCo S.

Yelp
Very disappointed in this place. So many good reviews. Went in on a Wednesday night. There were two other tables filled. Our food took 50 minutes to arrive. Salmon, Pork Chop, two burgers 50 minutes??? The salmon was good. The burgers were good but small. The pork chop was over cooked and dry. The pickle chips were extremely salty. Hopefully it was an off night, but it was very disappointing.

Yelp
Fresh food, locally sourced. Locally brewed beers. Amazing service to match the food, kind, courteous, attentive. Would definitely come back when in Asheville again.

Yelp
On our travels back to Ohio from a weekend trip to Florida, we decided to take the scenic route up I-95 and planned to stop for dinner in Asheville. After looking through countless online menus, we settled for Griff's Kitchen and Bar and could not have been happier with our decision. Griff's has the absolute best food. The chicken bites tasted like fried chicken wrapped in funnel cake batter. The shrimp steamed buns were spicy and delicious and the gnocchi pasta with brussel sprouts and crispy carrots is an entree I wish I could have over and over again. We're jealous of the people that live in Asheville and can eat at Griff's anytime they want. Service was spectacular and meeting the chef/owner was such a treat. We're looking forward to the day our travels bring us back to Griff's.

Yelp
Adorable local restaurant. Great specialty cocktails with lots of local spirits. Food is fabulous.

Yelp
As stated by many others, the food was great but slow to the table. Atmosphere was pleasant and prefect for dinner. Service was middle of the road, nothing special to speak of. My biggest negative was the size and pricing of drinks - overcharged for what was presented, this was a big turn off for me! Then there was the up charge for kitchen gratuity; shouldn't I have the option to tip as is appropriate or as I see fit? Overall, the food may be worth the visit, but the remaining intangibles left a bad taste.

Yelp
Lovely little place in the Asheville suburbs. Not a big menu, but everything sounded so good it was hard to describe. My server suggested a grilled cheese sandwich with a salad. What a sandwich! Perfectly grilled French bread with gooey goat and gruyere cheese, sautéed onions and crisp bacon with a perfect green salad.
