"The charm of a Showa-era (1926–1989) Western eatery. In true Asakusa style, the whole family pitches in. Brothers race to finish shredding the cabbage, with the winner allowed to prepare food. This time it falls on the elder brother to wait on tables. Hamburger steak, rice-stuffed omelette, beef stew and other ‘Japanese-Western’ favourites remind patrons of the good old days. With the teachings of their grandfather and father in their hearts, the family upholds the goodness of Asakusa." - Michelin Inspector

Super sweet, small restaurant with the best Omurice we‘ve had! The staff was so kind and the food was delicious! Loved the croquettes as well and would definitely go back when we come back to Asakusa. Thank you a lot for being so nice and sweet! On a side note: A reservation is recommended, because it doesn’t have so much seats and is often fully booked 😊

I’m glad I made a stop here the food was lovely, very filling and has a comforting taste and smell, I ordered the B lunch set, my favorite item was the croquette! But this doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the salad or soup or egg rice with demi glace sauce, the soup was creamy and light, salad was refreshing and egg rice had interesting flavours.

Place is dirty. Omurice and grilled steak are overpriced and bland. They poured the sauce on the grilled steak and the sauce splashed everywhere. Do not recommend this place.

This place is incredible! 3 generations of chefs and still going, the building is deceptively big, there's an upstairs with tatami seating and sliding doors. Get the cheese potato croquet, it will haunt your dreams! Really nice staff, kind to English speakers!

A real feast. The place is very popular. For lunch, better come 20-30 minutes before they open - there will already be a queue but you should still make it.

Hidden gem in Asakusa. The Omu Hayashi rice is very delicious. The egg is fluffy and the demi-glace sauce tasted really nice with the eggs and rice. The potato cream soup that comes with the meal is probably the best I've ever had. If you are in the Asakusa area, definitely don't miss out on this Yoshoku restaurant.

Very comfy and warm-heart restaurant. Owner was so nice and able to speak English to us. Food was awesome, the fried rice with omelet is probably the best I ever had. Will definitely visit again when visiting Asakusa.

I came for lunch, and be in the waiting list for about 40mins. The food was expensive but the taste was tasty especially the corn soup and korokke!

Yelp
Grill Grand, located in Asakusa, is recommended as a Bib Gourmaund Restaurant in the Michelin Guide. They have a small menu, but what they have is delicious. We came here because my wife wanted to have omurice with demi glace sauce. I ended up ordering their wagyu beef stew, which also has this demi glace sauce. If you aren't familiar with demi glace sauce, it's a flavor bomb that is made by making beef stock and having it concentrate its flavors over time. Grill Grand says that their demi glace takes two weeks to make. It was obvious that they took no shortcuts here. We went with their combo sets, which came with the entree, crab croquette, salad, soup, and we finished with hot tea. The crab croquette was delicious as it was crispy on the outside, but the inside was full of creamy crab. The salad and corn soup were simple, but they did the job. The tea was a perfect way to finish the meal after eating their rich entrees. As for those entrees: The omurice had a soft omelette placed over a tomato-chicken fried rice and topped with a generous portion of the demi glace sauce. The wagyu beef stew was fork tender and it was cooked in that demi glace sauce and served with a side of rice. I could see why the Michelin guide recommended this small restaurant with five tables. They cut no corners, what they offer is incredibly flavorful, and it was a very affordable meal of high quality. I know that when people want to get Omurice in Japan, they think of the viral "Kichi Kichi" in Osaka; however the same-day reservation process is virtually impossible to navigate. Consider coming to Grill Grand, a michelin recommended restaurant in Tokyo, instead for this signature dish.

Yelp
Our party arrived 10 min before the 11:30am opening, a line had already formed with 3 parties ahead of us. The restaurant opened promptly at 11:30am & seated all guests immediately. The lower level of the restaurant only had 5 tables with more seating available upstairs. The lower level was full to start, additional guests were greeted & directed to wait outside, then led upstairs. Service was very nice, little English is spoken but they do have an English menu that was super helpful! Every entree was served with salad & soup. The salad is simple, the soup was a crab based broth that was delicious. I ordered the omurice with demi-glace which is fried rice covered with thin omelet & drenched in demi-glace. This was delicious!

Yelp
I do not recommend to go there. Nothing special and poor customer service. Size of meal is very small and price 1800-3500 yen for food. Not accept credit card and no parking. I will never go again. Very disappointed for everything
