"Picking somewhere for a group dinner can sometimes feel like an SAT question. Your cousin is a vegan, grandma just wants somewhere with good wine, and your best friend is taking their new Whole30 diet very seriously. Rather than stress over it, just tell everyone that you’re going to RusTeak in College Park. This restaurant and wine bar is casual enough for a quick lunch or a Happy Hour glass of wine, while still working just fine for a date or birthday dinner. Food-wise, they serve everything from burgers and flatbreads, to General T’s pork belly and plenty of fresh fish. Similarly, they have one of the biggest wine and cocktail menus in the city, so regardless of who is joining you, everyone should be able to find something to eat and drink here. photo credit: Daniel Kuykendall" - Maddy Zollo Rusbosin

My friends and I dined at the bar and had a nice time. The food was good and the bartender was kind and engaging even though we arrived less than an hour before they closed as the last handful of remaining guests. I do enjoy dimmer lighting as an ambiance preference during dinner hours but it did not take away from the nice layout and pretty mural in the front dining area. A few sides were missing that we ordered, however it was not that big of deal since I’m an industry manager myself & know how it goes as the night comes to an end. The service overall was still very standard and we look forward to coming back….

Absolutely love this place! It was my first time dining here, and it definitely won’t be the last. Every dish we ordered was incredible—mouthwatering appetizers, perfectly seasoned and cooked steak and salmon, fresh and crisp veggies, and expertly crafted adult beverages. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between casual and business.

Was a bit hesitant to come here after trying the adjacent restaurant but I am very glad that I did. The food here was fantastic and well worth the price. The drinks were well balanced and still strong (we both had seasonal drinks). We split two apps, the daily soup and the tuna (both were delightful). For dinner we each had a filet (mine was peppercorn encrusted). The steaks were high quality and will prepared. I would definitely come back here for a quality meal. As a warning however... good food comes with a price.

WE LOVE MIAAAAAA. Came here for Valentine’s Day and yes yes yes ! The food was great- I got the fish of the day which was the rockfish. And it slapped! My bf got the steak and he loved it. The place is cute with a calm playlist and a cute drink menu. And if you have a birthday come here bc they have a cute dessert! Romantic lighting but not too dark. But let’s get into Mia! She’s so nice and she pretty. It’s Valentine’s Day and a bad server coulda broke the experience. But she knew the menu, gave recommendations, had charm and character and just made the entire experience just pleasurable. Thanks Mia and GrillMarx for an amazing valentines Day!

As good a filer as I’ve had. Caesar Salad, broccoli were good, too. Homemade dressings. Wife had crabcake with remoulade corn salad. Loved it. Great atmosphere.

We enjoyed our dining experience. We made reservations and parked in the garage attached to the hotel. Our server Mia was awesome! There were a few big dinner parties that evening but we received our food in a timely manner. We enjoyed the artichokes and fries as an appetizer. Fresh and hot. I enjoyed the pork loin and grits. I wasn’t a fan of the green onions because it was too much in the grits for me. I enjoyed the texture and flavor of the grits. The salmon and tortellini was edible. Nothing special about it to me. The apple crisp was decent. I would have preferred the texture of the apples to be firmer. It was mushy like apple sauce but a thicker consistency.

Jillian was a fantastic server. Very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made the experience! The food I would give a solid 8/10 and would recommend to someone. Love that it is a scratch kitchen and that they were willing to accommodate any food allergies that I had. The restaurant was very convenient as someone staying in The Hotel @ UMD. I appreciated the late night hours.

Google
Jillian’s smile welcomed me into the restaurant and I had the pleasure of having her service throughout my meal. The old fashioned was well portioned and strong- both no complaints! All other servers were pleasant and welcoming and service was consistent across them all. The food- 10/10; scallop risotto and blue points were presented well and cooked perfectly. I was happy I selected GrillMax to spoil myself today.

Yelp
My expectations were exceeded! I was craving steak, but not a lot of food, so when I saw they had steak kabobs as an appetizer as well as a salad with goat cheese, dried cherries and candied nuts I was sold to try it for last week's Date Nite (TM). When we arrived, I got a bit nervous because holy shit the parking garage is expensive (the building is near UMD campus and hosts a hotel and convention center as well)! But, fortunately, the restaurant validates parking. I wish I'd seen that in a review so that I could have skipped the "I'll pay as much for parking as my meal" moment. Phew! I was driving, so I ordered a not-rum punch mocktail. Hubs ordered their version of an old fashion (smoky, I believe). He liked that they used the fancy cherries. My mocktail was just ok, probably will stick to soda next time if I'm driving. But the food is where it was at for us. The steak kabobs are marinated perfectly, so flavorful, meat was super tender and delicious. Tasty grilled veggies help fill up the kabobs and they were presented on a bed of lettuce and pico de gallo. Honestly, at my current appetite, I probably would have been fine with just the appetizer though most people would need a bit more. Hubs and I split the salad... which was freaking huge. We took 3/4 of it home, no lie. It was delicious though. All the ingredients worked really well together and the balsalmic reduction was lovely. It's definitely better at first meal than leftovers as lettuce will get a bit wilty over time. I think if we were splitting this *and no other food* it would have been the right portion for us. But Hubs also got a bacon cheese burger of some sort, which he enjoyed a lot, so that's why we had so much salad leftover. We did not get dessert that night, we were too full. Prices aren't cheap, but they give you a lot of food, no "two bite" appetizers here. Appetizers are the size of my normal meal, entrees are 2-3 meals for me. But steak doesn't keep well, so I'll stick with the appetizers. I will be dreaming of those steak kabobs for awhile and will probably request we come back here again for date night soon, and maybe I'll make him drive next time so I can try a cocktail!

Yelp
Decent place to eat close to campus with a classy vibe. Prices are quite high, but portions are big so you'll likely be taking home leftovers. My group got the crab and spinach dips for appetizers. The bread that came with the crab dip wasn't that good, but the dip itself was spectacular. Spinach dip was good as well and came with chips. I also got the non rum punch mocktail which I highly recommend. For entree I got the mushroom ravioli with salmon. It was very heavy and filling, with plenty of mushrooms in the sauce as well as the mushroom-filled ravioli. The dish itself was spectacular, but I would've appreciated some fresh veggie to go with it to offset the heaviness. For dessert I got the creme brulee, which was delicious. Service was fine. We came on a day when they weren't super packed, so we were seated right away and could actually hear each other talk.

Yelp
The cuisine was satisfactory, our waiter was punctual and attentive to our needs. My fiancé and I visited on a Tuesday, which facilitated prompt seating. The beverages were excellent. The ambiance was pleasant. The noise level was minimal, allowing for effortless conversation and enjoyment of each other's company. I had hoped for slightly dimmer lighting, as I was seeking a romantic evening with my partner. However, considering it was a Tuesday, Grillmarx was not overly crowded. Overall, I was pleased and would return

Yelp
The food and drinks were really good. Was kind of surprised. Service was also good. Would definitely go back to try more.

Yelp
GrillMarx was a fantastic experience! Me and the family went for my brother in law's graduation. We had a great experience and here is what we ordered: Apps 1. Sherry creamed mussels (5/5): really good mussels with the sauce and comes with bread to dip in! 2. Oysters (5/5): Really fresh and recommend it if you are into oysters 3. Caesar salad (5/5): the best Caesar salad I have ever had Entrees 1. Fish sandwich: fresh grilled fish with a good coleslaw on top! 4.5 2. Kona steak: Cooked to perfection! 5/5 3. Pecan salad with chicken: great dressing, tortilla strips, everything paired really well. 4/5 4. Chicken & Prosciutto: well cooked chicken with asparagus with prosciutto with balsamic dressing on top. Solid but the worst of all the entrees ( good choice if you are eating healthy!. 3.5/5 Overall great experience and the service is amazing! Constantly had service workers ask if we were okay or needed anything! Will come again!

Yelp
Nice ambiance, spicy margarita tasted watered down but was pretty. The poke appetizer was amazing!

Yelp
I just spent $70 on one meal. The boneless ribeye was 90 percent fat, corn I paid $6.50 was only 1/4 cup size and the mash potatoes were good but also small amount. Was VERY disappointed. I can't believe I just wasted $70 on FAT.

Yelp
This location is located inside The Hotel in CP. The garage was easily accessible and you are able to enter the hotel through the garage. It was fairly easy finding the restaurant on the first floor. GrillMarx validates parking so that was even better. The set up is modern and also slightly elevated. It's a nice spot to just get together with some friends over dinner. We started with crab dip to share for the table. There were 4 of us in total and it was a large enough portion to share- it came with chips and a precut baguette. I would say that the dip was pretty good! I'd recommend it. For my entree, I ordered the pork tenderloin cooked medium well. I was very disappointed with the dish. The meat was beyond overcooked to the point where it was dry and tough. In addition, there was no flavor and just tasted like char. The side that the dish was supposed to come with were grits, but I received risotto instead? It tasted good though, but I would've liked the grits or at least told that it would be substituted. One of our friends ordered a chocolate cake dessert to celebrate recent accomplishments for 2 of us. The cake was pretty good and it paired well with the ice cream and other treats on the dish. The service could've been better. We hardly saw our server and it made it difficult when we needed him (i.e. requesting more water, another utensil, the bill, my drink). He was nice, but I would've appreciated more attentiveness. I've only been here this one time. If I come back to this location, I hope my experience is better.

Yelp
I was staying at The Hotel at the University of Maryland, which houses GrillMarx and four other places to eat, and so I gave them a try. I used room service and cannot comment on the restaurant itself. However, the meal was delivered in about 15 minutes. The food came in take-out containers, so there was no tray of dishes to put in the hallway. I am OK with the use of take-out containers, but if that bothers you, this might not be good for you. The food was pretty good. The grilled salmon was excellent, and so were the mashed potatoes. The coleslaw was not so great; not terrible but not the best coleslaw by any means. I recognize that there are many iterations of coleslaw, and you may like this version. My issue is that it was not sweet, and you may prefer it not to be sweet. The menu has a great selection of steaks, so there is plenty to choose from.

Yelp
The food here was AMAZING!! Came here for my brother's graduation lunch and I am impressed. Everything was cooked to perfection! The fresh fish sandwich was great, as was my brother's Kona ribeye. The mussels and clams as our apps were also a 10/10. Even my side of Caesar salad was some of the best I've had. If you're getting a drink, definitely try the Haven and Hell -- it was a hit around the table! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive! I would love to come back soon

June K.

Yelp
Met someone staying at the hotel and had a lovely dinner. Awesome staff and nice ambiance. My salmon dish tasted delicious, a tad bit salty and just warm.. would have expected it to be hotter. My friend ordered the Kona ribeye, but it wasn't that impressive. A steak and a side of fries. Considering the 3 dollar signs there is definitely room for improvement. Nevertheless, there is something for everyone, so for a nice dinner i'd give this place a go.

Yelp
Conveniently located in The Hotel! The parking garage is connected to the hotel. Can also be accessed from the street side as well. There is a parking lot in the back. I've been here twice in less than two weeks! First visit was for happy hour. I only had some wine. My pour could have been more generous. I noticed it immediately, but it became more pronounced when someone nearby ordered the same thing just a few minutes later, and it was obvious she got more than I did - and yes by the same bartender. Oh well! Maybe she's a regular!! And most recently I did lunch while staying here as a guest at the hotel during homecoming. I did the burger with fries. It was pretty good. The service was good. They offer brunch. The space is nice with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, a decent experience both times. I would come back again. I plan to visit the other locations as well.

Yelp
Disappointed as we had to cancel our order after waiting an hour for food. The manager didn't apologize for the delay, didn't offerva discount or fre drink or anything for the inconvenience. We requested a glass of wine, which never came. After 30 to 40 minutes we went directly to the bar to get it. The orange crush drink tasted like water. It was replaced with a better version but it was mild in flavor. The tortellini had a good flavor sauce. The food looked good and I am disappointed that I was unable to try more to make it a nice local spot. It was odd to have so much delay when the restaurant was only 1/4 full. Maybe only one cook was there due to unexpected call outs.

Yelp
Went for my graduation dinner and it was great! However, I did try to make a reservation multiple times and while the employees are nice, their resi system is a mess. I originally called 3 weeks in advance in anticipation of graduation weekend and made a reservation. Then, 2 weeks later I called to confirm and they had no record of my resi! Then, morning of I called and they had no record again and made another reservation! When I showed up, I told them this and they didn't have record of my reservation but could seat my group in abt 10 minutes! So, despite them telling me it would be very hard to get a table without a reservation, it surprisingly worked out. On to the restaurant experience- it was great! Our server was so kind and congratulated me on my degree! They also had a special drink and steak option for graduation week which I thought was a great, nice touch. My party of 6 got so much food! Spinach dip, oysters annapolis, and mussels to start. All were great and 3 apps were the move! The oysters were so weird and so amazing- basically all the toppings of a baked potato on an oyster! The mussels were also incredible and the bread for dipping was a great touch. Food came out hot and efficiently and we each had small plates for them. The drinks were also great! My table had wine, beers, cocktails and sodas between us all and they were served perfect! The entrees were also amazing!! I got the prosciutto and chicken and it was perfect! A very original item, the chicken was moist and the balsamic was the perfect tooping, plus the asparagus wasnt stringy! The rest of my table also enjoyed their meals. Then I had the creme brulee for dessert and i cannot stop thinking about it. It was AMAZING! So so so delicious- creamy with the perfectly crunchy burnt sugar top! I couldn't recommend enough. For a party of 6+, a 20% gratuity charge was added (standard) and the prices were a little expensive, but competitive for nicer places like this! Again, the service was incredible. She was kind, efficient, and we had multiple ppl check in on us. The restaurant is beautiful- a little cramped and it got quite loud as it filled up for its a big restaurant and it was a grad night. Definitely will recommend to future graduates!

Richard M.

Yelp
Excellent service. The restaurant is inside the UMD Hotel, parking is validated (huge plus). The salad and appetizers were very good but the prime rib I had was terrible. The cut was uneven, the meat was almost cold, and the au jus was a tiny amount and it wasn't hot enough. Will try something different next time but I don't recommend the prime rib.

Rion C.

Yelp
Decent breakfast and salads. French toast were three thick slices cut in half. What you expect with eggs and breakfast sausage. The salads were good. Was at the hotel for a conference. So ordered salads for lunch. It was nice and fresh and convenient.

Nyla S.

Yelp
My second time here and the food never disappoints! It is on the pricier side, but for the good quality food and the atmosphere it's worth it. Today I came for brunch it was a good portion of food. The breakfast platter was delicious (I'm sorry when I thought about a picture I was half way through my food)

Adri T.

Yelp
The Kona steak is amazing. Worth every penny. Crab dip is also top notch. Great date night spot and friendly staff

April P.

Yelp
Finally made it to a GrillMarx! and this location to ME was more so for business meetings, recruitment or a place for students to meet like a cafeteria but very classy & upscale!. Our server was Olivia she was so cheerful and openly polite, she made drink/food suggestions as it was our first time, she told us all the specials!! which I wish everything wasn't grilled because I definitely would've gotten the Mahi Mahi as fried fish and fries!! But they only have fried chicken tenders. she answered all of our questions. We ordered the chicken Salad which the chicken was buried deep under the salad mixture, the ribs and mussels. THIS PLACE has THEE BEST Mussels I've EVER HAD!! that sherry wine sauce is to die for!! Had we known how bomb the mussels and that mussel broth was we would've just ordered that with extra bread and been full!!.. the ribs were falling off the bone tender the chipotle sauce just right. I love how the ribs are not overly sauced up! but just enough sauce. The fries were ok! , the jalapeño aioli was good!! almost like a spicy tartar sauce. Overall I'd return for the flavors and service

Bessy G.

Yelp
I very much enjoy the flavors of this restaurant. My scallops risotto dish was cooked perfectly. The Kona steak is marinated in teriyaki sauce and comes with one side. I was a bit surprised that the side is one small scoop of mashed potatoes (which were the least favorite); thankfully my date ordered an additional side of sautéd mushrooms (which needed to cook just a tad longer) and spinach- both very flavorful. Lots of garlic, which I like. Service was attentive, no issues there. Unfortunately the hotel's fire alarm went off in the middle of our dining experience and it went on for a long while. I was glad to see they lowered the lighting compared to my first time, which made it feel more fine dining and less diner-like. Happy to see non alcoholic options besides soda and water since I don't drink. I look forward to coming back and trying the seafood tower which is reasonably priced at $79 compared many other DC restaurants pricing at over $100

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Seated right away with a reservation. Server was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. Food was flavorful and fresh. Crab cake dish was lite, proper portion size didn't leave me wanting more. Ordered a side of risotto, a mushy mess. The grits weren't any better. Oysters were fresh, only 3 options on the day visited. Sidecar beverage wasn't the best

Joe M.

Yelp
We love this place. We stay at The Hotel just so we can spend more time here. We love the bar area, but also like the dining room. Great vibes in both areas. We usually start with the crab dip and then we explore the menu, which is diverse and and very good. Scallops are great, steaks are great, salads are great. Staff is friendly and professional. Can't wait to go back!!

Dyonna B.

Yelp
I brought my mom here for Mothers Day after we spent the day at the spa. Reservations were easy to make and when we got there, surprisingly it was not busy. We had a great waitress. I believe her name was Linda. She was sweet and patient and check on us regularly. My mom and i ended up getting the steak kabobs as an appetizer to split. The steak had good flavor, however one large portion of my steak kabob was just all fat. I know fat adds to the flavor but for $15 for 2 skewers and half was inedible kinda threw me off. However, the salmon we ordered was delicious! My mom actually ate all of her food in one sitting. It was that good. lol We usually leave with leftovers. I also noticed they has a slight small fly issue which cause me to swat my food here and there. Hopefully i didnt eat or drink any. Overall it was a good experience, but the fly and steak fat made me deduct a star.

Tina N.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was super fast. The atmosphere was great. My husband and I shared a 14 oz Ribeye , with mushrooms and a crab cake add on. Delicious!

Nessa R.

Yelp
I'm a foodie foodie, as in let me taste my meal paired with the finest wines. Who knew in the heart of College Park was the newest restaurant, GrillMarx. I am not going to lie, came here when it was called something else but thank goodness that place is gone and this is here! Here to stay I hope. They have the best happy hour, food is amazing, owner is amazing, staff is amazing and honestly the ambiance is perfect! This place needs 10 stars! STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR, STAR..... Thank me Later Oh and yes, the food was too good forgot to take pics. I'll be back.

Emily L.

Yelp
Loved the food here. We came as a large group and everything was tasty and elevated. The servers were ready for us and prompt. Restaurant was clean. The appetizers were all solid. The ahi tuna stack was melt in your mouth delicious. Also, the tortilla chips were amazing with different salsas and dips all made in house. I got the prosciutto chicken and it was very tasty. Others said their chicken was a bit dry, so it may very based on what thickness of chicken breast you get. Nevertheless, portions were generous and all sides were cooked well. Highly recommend for some upscale dining.

Elise J.

Yelp
The deal had no flavor and was thin. I wish I would have grilled my own steak at home . The food on TikTok looks better than it tastes.

Robert W.

Yelp
3.9 Overall One of my favorite neighborhood spots if not my fav considering the options. Highly recommend the happy hour. Really it's a must try! Now, for those dining and dating on a budget do not and I repeat do not stay past HH. We all know our lane and it's wise to wake up and go to bed inside that lane. For the expendable income crowd stay and you treat yourself to some pricey decent food. The ambiance is decent for a hotel restaurant. The bartenders are solid. If you're an oyster and bourbon lover this is a cool pit stop to make before taking it in for the night. Definitely a must try if you're visiting College Park or just live in the area.

Spencer H.

Yelp
GrillMarx is my favorite Columbia restaurant so I was ecstatic to hear they were opening a new location just up the street from my job inside "The Hotel"! This was the perfect place for me and an old colleague to break bread and catch up because she claims to be a foodie too, lol. This GrillMarx location is much larger than the one in Columbia but the food is identical... GREAT! My favorite meal is the Hawaiian marinated Kona Ribeye which literally melts in your MOUTH! She had the blackened salmon that she raved about. I crushed a half dozen "Fatbaby" oysters before she arrived. I've never had "Fatbabies" before, kudos to my server for suggesting them because the were big and sweet and are now my favorite! I would consider this restaurant to be upper middle class if ranking it's level (Houston's/Pappadeaux's). Not quite as stuffy as Capital Grille but way more sophisticated than Outback.. Lol! College Park has definitely stepped their game up with this new edition so please come to "The Hotel" and enjoy GrillMarx for yourself!!!

Nikki H.

Yelp
GrillMarx College park missed the mark. We've been to the Columbia, MD location several times and each time there the food & service was excellent. Last night was our first time at the College Park location and it might be our only time. For apps we ordered mussels and the server didn't bring app plates so we r sitting there mussells getting cold. We had to ask for app plates. Hubby ordered steak. He said it was good. I ordered steak salad with Bleu cheese which I've had countless times at the Columbia location. My salad came out with the requested medium medallions cooked more like medium rare. Which is fine if the medallions would've been tender. But they were super-tough. The steak knife couldn't cut thru it. So I ate more of the salad and left most of the steak. Overall Grillmarx College park missed the mark. We will go back to the Columbia location eventhough the College park location is much closer to our house.

Lorrice G.

Yelp
Jili our server and Joey the Asst GM took great care of us on an amazing Monday evening. The weather was just right to sit outside. We enjoyed a nice evening with our well behaved dog on the patio. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Parking $4. an hour. Entrance is through the main hotel lobby. The food was really good. I came for a burger, but decided to try the warm gost cheese salad with cinnamon pecans, dried cranberries, and mixed greens. Excellent choice! I was very happy. My dinner companion ordered the crabcake with roasted corn and a side of creamed spinach. Delicous! Yes. I tried her food. It looked amazing! For dessert we shared the Amaretto cheesecake with peach compote and whipped cream. It was worth every calorie! So good! Please give this place a try. The staff is amazing, the drinks were strong, excellent food, can't go wrong!

Connie L.

Yelp
Would not recommend to anyone I have been to the other locations many many times and have had great meals. This location is not consistent like the others -they said the restaurant has no ice? Very odd -steak was a weird brown color on the inside like it was old. It was over cooked and taste was off. The second time, the steak was too rare. Finally the third time it came out ok. - burger- asked for medium well and came out medium It seems they can't get anything right. The server was nice but if the food is not cooked correctly, then the experience is ruined.

Carrie S.

Yelp
This restaurant is in the hotel so easy choice for me while visiting and not wanting to venture out. I decided to sit at the bar with my laptop during happy hour. Pretty quiet. The bartenders were friendly and attentive but spent most of the time talking amongst themselves. I'm thinking college students since the place is on campus grounds. I tried the crab dip with a baguette. The dip was flavorful and full of lump crab. The baguette could've broken a tooth. I really ended up eating the dip with my spoon. It was delicious. I recommend but maybe check first if the bread is fresh. I was there mid-week summer so not much customer turnover. I also ordered the ahi tuna poke and that was out of this world. The tuna was fresh and cooked perfectly. It's served with brown rice so know that it's a little drier. I really enjoyed the dish and would order again. It had a lot of wonton crisps so lots of chewing lol

Outstanding service. Farm to table restaurant located in The Hotel at The University of Maryland. The spinach risotto was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
There's no better place to dine in College Park, MD! The menu is a plethora of delicious dishes that you will find enjoyable and will make you want to try them all. The bartenders, servers, hostesses and managers are well trained and knowledgeable about their food. If you have been to and love the Columbia, MD location, then you will be blown away by College Park!

Yelp
The place and the service are good. The food is mediocre. A $47 steak turned out to be a salty fatty overcooked piece of meat.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised the degree with which I truly enjoyed my meal! I was celebrating a friends civil marriage and they were easily able to accommodate our large group of 10. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly (I had some work to complete prior to the entire party arriving and they accommodated outlet space right near our table). On to the food! The crab dip is TOP NOTCH. Couples with the warm bread, I was beside myself! This was followed by my scallops which were seared to perfection. The portions here are large and well worth the price point. There are a wide array of both cocktails and cocktails. I opted for the Don Julio margarita which did not disappoint! Closed the night out with a scrumptious chocolate cake. Love love love.

Yelp
Convenient place to eat brunch! I had the breakfast platter with a side of French toast. Then my brunch buddy had the breakfast burger. The food was really good. I was not a big fan of the French toast, but everything else we got was amazing.

Yelp
Tasty food in a comfortable environment, conveniently located inside the Hotel at the University of Maryland. Our server was helpful, friendly and attentive. She did a great job for the entirety of our evening. Apps of Crab Dip and Tuna Poke were decent portion sizes and quite tasty. For mains, we did a Porterhouse on special, Ribs and scallops. The Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The Porterhouse was cooked just a touch under medium rare, but still excellent. It would have been better and easier had they removed it from the bone and sliced it. It was scored off the bone and sliced about halfway into strips. Helpful, but still a touch difficult. Could have been more thorough. We had hoped that the side dishes we ordered would have been served on separate plates for sharing, as is the usual with a steakhouse. However the sides were served on the same plate as whoever ordered them. Not a deal breaker for our family, but not ideal for a group sharing food. Certainly a quality option for anyone staying at the hotel. Not sure if I'd go out of my way to dine here. Certainly too expensive for college students. A great option for visiting families to treat attending students.

Yelp
This location is always short staffed, so kudos to our server working on March 26 in the evening. She took great care of us and all the tables. There were so many families dining out that night. I really don't know how she managed but we always had our drinks full, plenty of bread, meals out quickly, and she was very polite. This location has very dim lights. There's plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant. I ordered the sesame soy salmon bowl with dressing on the side. Rice tasted a little on the stale side, like it had been made a couple of days ago and was reheated. Brussel sprouts had great flavor but some were burnt. Salmon was a lot smaller than anticipated and mostly dry. Sesame sauce was very delicious and added great flavors to the dish.

Yelp
This is a nicer place, great ambiance, and a fantastic server named Mia. She was able to advise on wine selection, the different style of steaks and flavors, apps, and dessert. Service was prompt, professional and courteous. She came back to the table at the proper times, somehow not right when we were taking a bite to eat, and we will be coming back. I would absolutely recommend the Kona steak. You could cut it with a butter knife. The Kona flavoring of pineapple juice, brown sugar, pepper flakes made for a dinner that we all devoured. It's a little pricey, but in all reality a great meal, great service!

Yelp
This is our first visit to any GrillMarx. This particular one is located in The Hotel. The hotel has paid garage parking but there is another paid parking lot right next to it at much lower rate (Friday night $2 per hour). The ambience is causal elegant. They were well staffed with hard working university students. We started with couple cocktails. Not bad. And for the starters, we got crab dip (not bad) and grilled artichoke (amazing). So glad that we got 2 orders of the grilled artichoke. The jalapeno aioli dipping sauce was delicious. For entrees, 3 were a hit and two were so so. Maryland Style Crab Cake- A Prosciutto and Parmesan Chicken - C+ (chicken a little dry) Tortellini A La Vodka- A Mushroom Ravioli- A++++ Pan Seared Scallops- C+ (spinach risotto a complete miss) We ended the night with 2 desserts to share. Both were delicious and we ate every bite of them. Overall an excellent dining experience. Looking forward to returning to this location and/or visit other locations.

Yelp
My and my friend went out for dinner here and I must say we had a great time! Our waitress Jill I believe short for Jillian was soooo amazing! She talked to us but also made us laugh while recommending some great things from the menu. The food was great. I had the fish tacos which was soo good a bit spicy but not that bad. I also had the tomato bisque soup I want more lol. The ambiance was not bad at all reminds of an airport restaurant to be honest but not ugly. The staff and manager were nice the night we went and definitely will go back.

Yelp
Located within the expansive ground floor of the Hotel at the University of Maryland, GrillMarx offers delicious dining for those seeking steak or other dishes. The atmosphere is friendly, and the food and service are excellent. Definitely a top choice in College Park.

Yelp
The service is amazing. It's a clean restaurant thought the interior seems a bit sparse and generic. Good steak
