Grimaldi's Pizzeria

After hearing rave reviews about Grimaldi’s on various podcasts, I was eager to try it, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere had a lovely Italian flair, with an upscale casual vibe that made for a perfect dining experience. The intoxicating aroma from the wood-fired ovens created a delightful welcome as we entered. We chose the vegetarian pizza, adding sun-dried tomatoes, and it arrived steaming hot. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the crust, which was flavorful and delightful. Our server, Cynthia, was attentive and took excellent care of us throughout the meal. I can’t wait to return to Grimaldi's, even though it’s over three hours away. This visit was truly amazing, and we’re already looking forward to our next pizza fix!

Grimaldi’s is a fantastic pizza and dining experience! Spacious, well-appointed dining rooms. Bar area, open kitchen with dough being tossed before your eyes, patio area in the front for al fresco dining! Excellent family-style dining. Share a big salad and pizza. Good drinks and excellent service. The Mediterranean salad is a hit! Olives, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh greens with a savory salad dressing. It’s more than you can eat. We shared a large pizza, half the Brooklyn bridge and half the mikes hot honey pepperoni! The Brooklyn bridge has basil and sausage, it’s salty and savory. The hot honey pepperoni is sweet, heat and salty, crunchy hot. It’s an amazing pizza. It just works. The crust is hand-tossed to a thin and crispy texture. Excellent crust and you’ll fight over the piece with the bubble! Parm and red pepper for those that grew up with Pizza Inn/Hut addictions. The cannoli was good as well. Crunch, creamy, sweet with chocolate chips and a hint of cinnamon. Good drinks and on Tuesday its half priced wine and sangria! We go every visit to San Destin. You should too.

This is THE PLACE for pizza! We really enjoyed our experience here. We ordered The Don pizza (meatballs, pepperoni and sausage). It might just be the best pizza we’ve ever had! The drinks were amazing too! And the service was spot on.

I ordered a pizza from this place expecting a good meal, but instead found actual pieces of coal on my pizza. Not charred crust—literal chunks of coal. I’m all for a wood-fired flavor, but this crossed the line into inedible and unsafe. It was incredibly disappointing, especially because I was genuinely looking forward to it. Quality control clearly needs serious improvement.

Love this pizza! We come here every time we visit. Great dough and marinara sauce on the pizza along with really flavorful topping makes the pizza outstanding! Wasn't sure about the "coal-fired oven" but it works!

Meh pizza but the salad was delicious. Very creative accounting on their part. So, if you want a pizza half and half, be prepared to pay a rather healthy sum for it. Our server said something about paying for additional toppings, but I didn't see how that would apply to a 12" half Don, half Hero pizza. Oh boy, was I ever wrong! The Hero half was $25 and the Don half incurred a $17 charge for half meatballs ($5), half pepperoni ($4), half sausage ($4) bringing the total for a 12" pizza up to $38!!!! WTH? We split a spring salad and my wife asked if feta could be substituted for gargonzola cheese. Yes! No mention of the $2 charge, bringing the salad up to $14! So in review, two glasses of water, a sweet tea, us sharing a 12" pizza and sharing a small salad cost us $66 and that's AFTER a 15% military discount!! Do better!

We had a 16" ham, pepperoni and ricotta. 2 pieces each for 3 adults. Was just the right amount. So good! I love thin crust and had the right amount of crunch

What a surprise. Cruising the mall and bingo there it was. Perfect lunch spot. Not too busy and good parking. Our server was Kristi and she was a gem. The place has a regular lunch deal - slice, salad and drink. Lots of choices. Kristi lead us thru the menu and reviewed the pizza of the month deals. We went with her suggestion. Ordered a 16" pesto special that was quite unique. Fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, spicy ham, olives, tomatoes, heavy pesto and diced porcine peppers to give it some kick. Also ordered the antipasto side salad for two that was part of the compliment. Salad was a nice mix of greens and veggies dressed with the house vinaigrette. We were on a roll so Kristi recommended we try to cheese cake. There were four choices so we asked Kristi to select something for us. A generous piece of banana cream cheese cake topped with cookie crumbles came to the table for us to split. Every bite was heavenly. Clearly a 5 - lunch and 10 - service. Thank you Kristi. The ambience of the place high end pizza bar with beautiful features. Bar had indoor and outdoor seating. The dining room and patios areas were low key and in good taste. Highly recommend without any reservations. Prices were fair and value was high. We had the good fortune of having a superb server who talked us thru the dining club, coupons and birthday registry. Will be back next trip

Great food and Jeff the manager. The server was new and overwhelmed, however the Manager made up for our bad service. Our favorite pizza in the panhandle, we will be back!

Really good. They do not have a kid's menu, but you can do a 3/4 pizza and get 1/4 in a kid's style (cheese, pepperoni, etc). I would go back. Server was nice, and it had a cute feel.

Really, really great pizza. Honestly, of all the restaurants we ate at for dinner, GRIMALDI'S was the best. That sucks given we hoped for great seafood in the area but all of them served over priced seafood that was mediocre at best. We ate here twice while staying in Sandestin. Great place.

It's a pleasant surprise to find out about this place as we stopped by for lunch in DanDestin. The pizza and salad were excellent... along with the service. Wish they have one in Tampa.

We tried this place for the first time. We ordered two different pizza with our own toppings. The place has enough seating inside and some outdoor seating as well. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait. We tried their pesto and traditional pizzas and I liked the pesto one better. You can always order the marinara sauce on the side to go along with your pesto pizza, if needed. We also ordered their house salad with chicken. Overall the food was good and we will come back to try other items on the menu.

Great NY Thin style brick oven pizza! Great service and a must go to if in the Destin area. Great drinks as well. Pizza was made with the perfect cheese combinations.

We saw this place being announced on a billboard coming in from Destin & thought we'd give it a try. The pizza was so yummy! It had a great taste and I can see why it was voted best pizza! The service was wonderful, we can in at 8pm and were seating quickly and our food was brought out to us quick! Our waitress was a sweetheart and was very helpful! The place is decorated with a lot of New York black & white pictures and they were playing Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin so it gave us a nice vibe! 10/10 place for sure!

Grimaldi's will forever be a top pizza place for me. When I lived in Destin, this was the go to spot for pizza and sec football. Ive come here a very frequent amount of weekends and never had an issue with it.

Amazing place! Pizza is very delicious, good selection of pizza from meat lovers to white pizza lovers, no meat. Wine selection was also good. I recommend this place!

Hard to miss on pizza... but it happened tonight. First, this was likely good because we were aiming to eat our feelings, and this kept us from doing that, at least calorically. Crust and dough make the pie, and this was far more tearing doughy cardboard than anything. Big fail. Second, we may have missed the fine print on the arugula and prosciutto but it must not include any sauce. Just dough, light cheese, and the above. When I picked it up, it had no arugula on it, so that was a production miss too. Was it just a bad night? Maybe. But it's a pizza place, so you've got one job, no?

The worst pizza I have ever eaten. Tasted burnt. The website told me an hour. I went after 45 minutes. Pretty sure it had been made and sitting.

Yum, yum, yum! Girmaldi's knows pizza. We enjoyed the cheese pizza as well as the pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The thin crust and delicious sauce makes these pizzas special. They also have ample seating indoors and out to enjoy all they have to offer. The service is friendly, but slow. All in all, come with friends and be happy.

Sat here for 10 minutes, nobody came to ask us our order, drinks, nothing. Multiple waiters/waitresses walked by us.

Hit Grimaldi's for lunch while site seeing in Destin Fl. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and had a decent crowd for lunch. We split a Pesto mushroom Calzone along with a small cheese pizza. The food did not disappoint us at all. Calzone had a great flavor and was very filling. The small cheese pizza was also good and hit the spot. Our waiter was very good as well. I would go back for lunch again.

I originally did not want to eat here. I didn't think the pizza looked super appealing. To my surprise, it was my favorite pizza I had in Destin. It has the right amount of sauce and the mozzarella cheese was so good on it!

Solid pizza along with solid service. The atmosphere was nice and enjoyed the evening with friends. This is a must go to pizza place if you haven't been yet.

We ordered a couple pizzas for a rainy evening in while at Sandestin. Grimaldi's was close to the resort and had good reviews. They did not disappoint! We ordered a double pepperoni & hot honey pizza, a veggie pizza and a large Mediterranean salad. It took about 55 minutes for our food to be ready for pickup. All the food was fantastic and the homemade salad dressing was perfect! We will definitely order from here again on our next trip to Sandestin resort!

Had a really great experience with take out here! The pizza was cooked perfectly and they had so many different options of pies. A really good family dinner place too- kinda wish we would've eaten here because the vibes looked fun!

Went to the takeout counter and it was not busy. Ordered the pizza and waited 40 Minutes. Pizza was not as ordered and ice cold. Small pizza was $28 We each ate a slice and threw it in the trash

You're never greeted and there's no one at the host stand. So we're all collectively standing there as servers go by without an acknowledgement. At least sorry we'll be right with you. I work at a food business as well and I understand how stressful it is but at least say something especially when the servers are always staring. Then I wanted a to go order I was told to go to the bar so I went to the bar. Bartender looks at me doesn't say anything to me walks away. He attends to the people that are sitting and then walks away again. Probably the worst customer service experience.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because we had to wait 25 minutes for our food, and it wasn't really that crowded! Also I had absolutely no cellular connection in that building, and the wireless Network had no internet. The place was like a literal Faraday cage. HOWEVER...the food was delicious, My buddy and I both had the 12 inch Calzones. I had mine with Spicy Chicken Sausage, and he chose the Meatball portion. We both opted for the Dessert Trio I had Cannoli, Tiramisu, and New York Cheesecake and he had the same except he chose the Oreole Cheesecake. Our meal was absolutely amazing! The calzone were dope, and those cannoli were oh my god delicious! Was it unfair to ding them so hard for the wait and the reception? Maybe, but I'm about the entire experience, and I don't like having to wait until I get two blocks away from the restaurant to post my Yelp review. I know that's petty! LOL

We decided to try Grimaldi's Pizzeria for dinner. We drove up and there was plenty of parking. When we walked in someone told us that they would be with us shortly. The restaurant is bright and open. The bar was open to the outside which I thought was cool. There was seating inside and outside. We chose to sit inside and were seated shortly after walking in. Then our waiter came over and greeted us and asked about our drink order. He was very friendly throughout the meal. We ordered some water to drink and then looked at the menus. When our waiter returned he took our order. I chose the BBQ Chicken Pizza. After taking our order the waiter checked in on us multiple times. We got our pizzas at different times but that was okay. They placed my pizza on a pizza stand. I could see the heat coming off of it. I grabbed two slices and began eating. This pizza was really good. It was very flavorful. I could taste all of the ingredients. The crust was not thick or thin it was perfect, the chicken was tender, the cheese was melted, the bacon was very tasty and spread throughout, the onions that were on top tasted sweet and the BBQ sauce was very good. It was a delicious pizza. Overall the dining experience was positive. I'd return in the future if we are back in the area.

Despite the crowds, quickly sat down. While the menu is on the smaller side, should you find yourself in the mood, the Crab Bisque is delicious and an order of crab cakes makes for a happily full meal.

This place is a tourist trap. Pizza was horrible and the salad was small. Very overpriced. Small pepperoni $18. Small (and I mean small) salad with 1/2 chicken breast was $15! Vinaigrette was so garlicky I couldn't even eat it. Pizza was tough and chewy and so thin! Don't bother with this place. I hate getting ripped off by overpriced food places. Don't bother!!

Our server was also the bartender and a greeter. They were a tad short staffed on the Saturday we went. It was 2:00 in the afternoon and it was just a little busy. Our salads were very good and big enough to share. We each got our own pizza and everyone was pleased. The tomato sauce was good, the toppings were quality and we left happy. One of our party ordered an anchovy, mushroom and olive pizza. Gross but she devoured it! My all meat was wonderful with a dollop of ricotta.

Wish I had pictures and a nice review to write...But.. We walked in after a great morning in nearby Rosemary Beach. After waiting about 5 mins, we were "greeted" at the door. After hearing some one (maybe the manager) say "let them know..." The greeter told us the ovens were being stoked so if we chose to eat this location it would take an hour and a half for our meal. We were confused as we noticed several families ordering and dining at the location. He then asked "would you like to eat here?" This is unacceptable. It also seemed like we were not desired guests. Seems like our presence wasn't desired. Could be demographics. But thank you for letting $$$ walk out the door. We were planning to dine at this location for dinner and then for lunch with our large party. This level of mistreatment is unacceptable. It is rare for me to leave negative reviews for a business because I know how hard businesses work to stay open. However, this location treated us dismissively for no apparent reason (demographics?). I hope others experience better here. Be wary. I would never dine here or tell anyone I know to dine here. I'm only leaving one star because I'm unable to leave a zero.

The oven makes the difference. Great pizza dough. We had the Margherita and the prosciutto and arugula. Delicious! Relaxed and chilled ambiance. Good service too!

This pizza is so delicious! I highly recommend it. It is one of the very best pizza places I have ever eaten at.

Ordered single slice with drink and salad (10.99) with 3 toppings (.75). Toppings included freeze dried Italian sausage, red onions and pepperoni. Where was the pizza sauce? Disappointing

The pizza was great. When the bruschetta came out I was worried but it was amazing. The small salad is huge. The service was a little slow but we are on vacation so it wasn't a big deal.

The NY style brick oven pizza was delicious. Seemed slightly understaffed by they were friendly and trying their best!

5-star price, 3.5-star flavor. Positives: Ordered carry-out via online order. It showed a 45min ETA for pickup time, and they had it ready in almost exactly, maybe 5 minutes later, and we asked for ours extra crispy / well done. The crust was fantastic. Great dough flavor, and great crispness for the most part. Not positive or negative: Be aware this is NOT "typical" New York style pizza. Much lighter on the cheese and heavier on the sauce than most might be used to. It seemed like the sauce may have been on top too - not like Detroit style, but reminiscent of it. Just be aware, if you're planning to bring any small picky eaters along. Negatives: Whoever cut our pizza must have been doing so for their first time - it was the worst cut I've ever had on a pizza, no exaggeration. We did request "double cut" (one of the presented buttons/options online - not like we wrote in some odd special request), but the cuts were extremely haphazard, and nowhere close to being through the crust. We had to fight with a pizza cutter on our own to get ANY slice out of the box. The big one... The Sauce. Unfortunately, we really didn't like the red sauce on this pizza. My wife couldn't even finish a whole slice, and I was very disappointed. If it weren't for this, the bad cut would be a non-issue, and this probably would have been a 4-5 star review. But the flavor of this sauce was really that off-putting. I'd suggest skipping this place and checking out some of the other nearby options to try your luck.

Good service. Good pizza. Good location. Initially we opted to be seated outside since the wait was shorter but then it started pouring and all the outdoor people had to come in. It was chaotic but they handled it so well. We were seated pretty quickly. Everything was solid. We'd go again and worth checking out if you're by the beach for a few days and in the mood for good pizza.

They don't have a way to order online, 2 hour wait and no one answers the phone. Ridiculous.

This has become my favorite local pizza restaurant. Great cocktails and a good selection of wine along with amazing pizza. I normally sit at the bar but they also put and outdoor side to the bar and outdoor seating available. It's a pretty busy place so come early evenings or expect a pit of a wait, but always worth it.

Best pizza on the beach! My family of 9 loved the food and the service! The ambiance was warm and inviting work friendly people.

We went to Grimaldi's for lunch just after they opened on a Wednesday. There were 4 tables occupied with 4 or less diners each. We waited at the door a bit before being seated. There was one server who looked to be the bartender. She was flustered and never even looked at us. It took 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. A second server served us. Perhaps he was late to work since it was the first time we saw him. Several people were making pizzas yet the table next to ours and the table behind ours didn't receive their orders completely or correctly. We had The Don pizza and a house salad. Pizza is indeed excellent New York pizza. The salad was very good and fresh. The vinaigrette dressing was deliciously light. We will be back for sure, but the apparently stressed out staff made for a less than perfect experience. Our server when he finally arrived was outstanding. He was pleasant, attentive, efficient, and helpful. We felt that the management needed to be much better. Some staff needs training for attitude, efficiency, and accuracy. They appeared to be making as many take out orders as dine-in orders. Perhaps more staff is needed. It took us right at an hour. Be prepared to wait.

We drive out of our way to get this pizza because it's so good! Wonderful salads too. We've only carried out but it's quick and easy!!

Had take out pizza which was ready in the 30 minutes promised from a friendly take out side of the restaurant person. I prefer my pizza a little saucier and cheesier, but a fine crust. I also like the creative options: pepperoni with spicy honey? Hmm, never had that before. Although that was one I saw online that I couldn't find at this particular location.

Horrible service and the food was not that great. I have eaten at much better Grimaldi's restaurants. Not what I was expecting at all from this chain.

Really delicious pepperoni pizza. And the Arugula salad was one of the best I have ever tried. Ask you server to have the pizza "double cut" so the slices are smaller. Also ask for the powdered garlic and oregano. Yummy!

Pizzas were delicious. The vibe and decor of the restaurant was very neat and very New York. Our server, Yersi was excellent.

Had a great lunch here on a Sunday. Margherita pizza was cooked exceptionally and the taste was very fresh and flavorful. Paired it with the apple and walnut salad which was plenty for two. Prompt service without feeling rushed and easy scan and pay option. Nice dining experience.

This place was recommended by the guys at a distillery near by and it definitely lived up to the hype an excellent pizza with a tasty crust and well topped we had a meatball pizza and the caprese salad you don't want to miss this spot if your down in the Destin area
