Grimm Artisanal Ales, a trendy East Williamsburg brewery, offers an impressive range of innovative brews and tasty eats in a cozy, welcoming space.
"What It Is: A big brewery and taproom in East Williamsburg Perfect For: Day Drinking, Big Groups Grimm is a Brooklyn-based beer company, and they just opened a brewery in East Williamsburg with a taproom in front. We tried a great stout that came in a glass with a stem, which made us feel both cultured and refined. The big space didn’t seem to have air conditioning, so it was a little warm inside - but it was a nice place for early-evening drinks. The Verdict: If you really like beer, this place is worth a trip. And if you live nearby, you should meet friends here for day drinking." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren
"Try Grimm for your next daytime hang in the East Williamsburg area or if you're excited to try New Haven-style pizza while you drink. This brewery makes all kinds of double IPAs, imperial stouts, and sour beers (among many other things). They have a big, bright indoor space that feels like a minimalist loft apartment, and there's a heated outdoor patio as well. If you get hungry, pair your hoppy pilsner or key lime beer with some coal-fired pies from Lala’s Apizza, which operates on Grimm’s rooftop." - neha talreja, will hartman, molly fitzpatrick, willa moore
"Grimm, a brewery in Brooklyn, is open from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.; tickets, which start at around $135, include four hours of an open bar, plus snacks." - Luke Fortney
"This taproom in East Williamsburg has cans available for takeout every day from 12pm to 8pm. But you can also place a delivery order with them online." - nikko duren
"Grimm is known for its beer cans decorated with hand-drawn logos and colorful designs. In this case, it’s fine to judge a book by its cover: The brewery is popular for its hazy IPAs and tart sours brewed with pineapple, Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and other ingredients. There are around 24 beers on tap at a time, plus a handful of wines from the brewery’s sister company Physica. The owners recently opened a restaurant on their rooftop with New Haven-style pizza." - Luke Fortney, Eater Staff
