Awesome second space for co-working! Multiple drink options, strong WiFi connectivity! Atmosphere is so cool in this area of town. Supportive of the powerful work being done here. Amazing staff! Madison was attentive and supportive in making, serving drinks, going above & beyond. Thanks for allowing me to connect and plug in while visiting for the day.

Ultra laid back in a way that only the RAD can be, this is a relaxing, comfortable little shop for a well-made cup and a tasty bakery treat. I tried the Banana Bread Latte and was surprised by how well it evoked the grandma’s-kitchen classic. Superb, friendly and engaging service topped off the experience.

Unique coffee and tea establishment with truly flavorful menu items. The orange dreamsicle drink was refreshing without being overly sweet. No one items in the drink overpowered any other component. We will return to try other items when we return to Asheville.

When you open door you can smell real nice coffee aroma. Friendly place, clean, creative and coffee here really good. Just get it in your morning and your day is going well .🫶🤗

I ordered a Smores Latte and it was beyond what I was expecting. The flavor was bold and sweet. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant that was delicious as well. I will definitely visit again. Oh and did I mention the price was great as well. 10/10 I highly recommend.

Fantastic coffee shop with an excellent menu of various drinks and pastries. The shop is very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the owner is super friendly. I stopped by after my run today, and would love to make it a regular occurence. Also seems like a great place to bring a laptop and work.

The Grind is a lovely, small Black-owned coffee shop in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC. As soon as you enter the building, you're greeted with soothing music and a friendly greeting from the staff. I enjoyed speaking to the gentleman at the counter, who not only made my delicious drink perfectly, but also made me feel welcome to the coffee shop and Asheville as a whole. I ordered the iced strawberry vanilla matcha latte and it was everything I could have imagined. So good! The Grind also brings awareness to social issues in the area such as urban renewal and promoting Black Wall Street AVL. Not only is The Grind providing the service of great coffee, tea, and baked goods, but they're also supporting important issues in the local community. Highly recommended!

Great little coffee shop with plenty of co-working space. Music and AC sound is a little loud if you're trying to have meetings. Coffee is really good, fun flavors to try if you're into it. This place doesn't have breakfast, but it does serve baked goods supplied from a local bakery.

Coffee was delicious! We've tried several coffee shops in Asheville and this was our favorite!

I know Asheville is known for their breweries, but let's give them a round of applause for their cafes and coffee shops! Honestly, I have yet to visit a coffee shop here that disappoints. Grind AVL is no different. Located in the heart of the River Arts district, Grind is a black-owned, mission-centered coffee shop that serves everything from your classic drip to uniquely flavored lattes. The indoor space is a perfect setting for those that need a place to relax or get work done. I noticed that they sold both sweet treats and a nice variety of drink options. I decided to get a strawberry vanilla latte and my husband got the banana bread latte. Both were out of this world! Just the right amount of syrup so that you can actually taste the flavor profiles without being too sweet. Looking forward to my next visit!

Ambience was not as fun as I would ave expected in an arts district. Was disappointed that my coffee was in a paper cup but was tasty. Barista seemed to be having a rough day--very grumpy. Was hoping for an afternoon snack at 3 but no food left.

Stopped in to this coffee shop on a rainy afternoon. Ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. It tasted nice with good foam, and the espresso tasted medium. The service was quick and responsive, and the environment was quiet and chill, mostly people working.

I loved my cold brew! I drink ice coffee and cold brew almost exclusively and I hate watered down brews. My cold brew was nice and dark and strong and tasted so good. I loved the quiet, calm environment for a Saturday morning, they were playing chill vibes music. It was the perfect start to my day

Great espresso drinks & they use organic cream! Lots of space inside to hang out and toys for kids. I love to get their dalgona.

Chill place with good coffee and smiling barista. Had private meeting rooms which came in handy.

I'm a coffee snob, and this was definitely one of my top 3 coffeeshops of all time! Grind AVL has some of the best coffee I've ever tasted; full of flavor with multiple flavor shots to choose from. They also have oat milk and sugar-free vanilla, which is hard to come by nowadays! Beyond the great service and taste of their offerings, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful history that the shop displays. Asheville's 1st Black-Owned coffeeshop doesn't bombard or inundate you with history, it [offers] it to you. And because it's so open-handed, you can't help but freely accept it. To meet the GM, Curtis, who's very humble and down to Mars only makes the visit that much more worth it as he tells the beautiful history behind the shop and gives you the lay of the land. I will definitely be going back when we visit Asheville later this year. Grind AVL: Where Coffee meets History!+.

Terrific new coffee shop in the River Arts District that is black-owned and locally-owned. They stay open later than Ultra & Summit, closing at 6pm everyday, except when they close at 5pm on Sundays. They also have bakery items from the Rhu (another great locally owned bakery downtown). And, they have a discount for students, and I've seen students studying here together. What's not the love?

After hearing great things about Grind, I decided to check them out. Located near the River Arts district, the location is great! As soon as you walk in, you really feel at home with the welcoming decor. The barista at the counter was personable and even suggested a beverage. I enjoyed my drink and the vibe at Grind. It's def worth a stop if you're in the area.

The Lavender latte was delicious. I ordered it with half the pumps of sweetener and it was perfect!

Service was quick, design and ambiance was chique. Prices were fair and food was locally sourced and tasty. Keep the good vibes going y'all!

Amazing experience! I saw this place on Facebook this morning supporting a Black Wall Street Pop-Up. I decided it was a great way to meet small business owners over coffee and headed over. It is in the Arts District in Asheville and as I walked down Depot street people greeted me with smiles (behind their masks - Covid time). Upon entering the grind they had converted what would normally be a dine in area into a Pop-Up shop and as I walked past the vendor tables I was excited to learn more about their business and products and services. But, I needed Coffee first. I was greeted at the counter by a very pleasant young lady who took my order. I had a large Caramel Latte with Almond Milk. They have an extensive flavor list (wider than the chain coffee places) and several milk options as well. I also ordered a mini quiche. They were both Fabulous! As I write this review I am thinking of going back in the morning. Next, I ventured to the vendors and learned the Grind sponsors a year long pop-up shop on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. In the summer months the front doors open and vendors are also outside. I know I have a new local spot in Asheville. I won't go into each vendor here. But, this is a wonderful find in Asheville- Check them out!!!

One clueless stoner was working the counter on a busy Saturday morning. He asked us over and over what we ordered. Even after telling him numerous times he still got every single order wrong. This fiasco took 25 minutes. This place needs to stop focusing on plastering woke propaganda all over the walls and and work on their abysmal customer service.

Great coffee and delightful staff. Best Americano I've ever had! Just wish food selection was broader-- but I did go at 4pm on a Sunday.

I had a great chai latte in this Black-owned, locally-sourced coffeeshop! it has a cozy atmosphere in West Asheville! the staff are friendly, and it's a great place to work, hang out, and relax!

Amazing coffeee/co-working space with friendly environment that makes it easy to be productive! Came here in a rush when visiting family in Asheville & very attentive staff & open environment made a great place to do some work calls & other work. Many places I try to work are too crowded to concentrate, but this has right balance. Highly recommend!

Checked out Grind for the first time and thought their coffee was the best I've had in Asheville! My iced latte was so tasty I was literally tempted to go back to buy a second one when we finished walking in river arts. We visited on a warm day and they had opened up the side of the shop which faces the street so it had a nice open air cafe feel (and excellent airflow in these days of covid.) The gentleman working there who I think may have been the owner was really friendly and welcoming. I think this will be my new go-to coffee spot in town.

Grind is so awesome! I'm currently sitting here, working on a paper for a class. The establishment is super clean and well-maintained. The service is quick and the person who made my coffee was super friendly. I love Dynamite brand coffee (yum) and the pastries they serve are from an awesome bakery downtown. The tables are well spaced out, so even though I seem to be here during an afternoon rush I'm not too worried about there being a lot of people here. So glad to be able to support this local business! Hoping to be able to make it to their next pop up event later this month!
