I was getting tires installed at the Town Brookhaven Costco, and I was told that, because there were other customers ahead of me, it was going to take about two hours. It was a nice day and I wasn't in any hurry, so I decided to walk to Grindhouse Killer Burgers. I wasn't all that thrilled by my dining experience at this location, and, in hindsight, I should've eaten somewhere at Town Brookhaven. I've gone to the Grindhouse Killer Burgers on Piedmont, and, so far, that's my favorite for both the food and the service.
At the end of a nice brisk walk, I made it to Grindhouse Killer Burgers. Parking is free, but this business shares a lot that's on the smaller side. I can imagine that at peak times parking can be a challenge. It is, though very close to the Brookhaven MARTA train station, so I suppose parking could be found there, if needed.
Face masks are worn by all employees, but not by all the customers. There was an employee who seemed to be the only one who even cared whether or not customers wore face masks, and she told everyone not wearing face masks to put them on when they were not at their tables. The other employees didn't say a word to any customers except for the food runner who was bringing out food from the kitchen and delivering it to customers. Customers are responsible for social distancing. Many tables with umbrellas are available outside in both the lower and upper patios. Indoor dining is also available; when I ate inside, there were some seats blocked off with tape, preventing customers from sitting in them. Employees were very good at cleaning and wiping down tables soon after customers left them. The indoor dining area was very clean.
If you want to eat in the upper patio, just go directly upstairs and get a table; you will receive table service. If you want to order food to go or want to eat downstairs, go inside to the counter and order. When I went to the counter, I was asked by one of the employees what I wanted to order. I ordered a beef Euro style double burger with medium doneness, and made it a Killer Combo, with an iced tea, but I wanted onion rings instead of the fries. The non-alcoholic drinks are self serve, including refills. I waited about 15 minutes for my food to be delivered. While I was waiting, I watched a soccer game playing on one of the three TV monitors.
When my food was delivered, it was light on flavor - kind of bland, actually. The patties were cooked well done instead of medium. The bun became soggy quickly due to the abundance of grease and mayo on the patties. The onion rings were greasy and soggy; I was expecting them to at least be crunchy/crispy. If my experience is representative of the Brookhaven location, I'd much rather go to the Piedmont location instead.
