Beautiful studio with very personable women. The unlimited week as a first timer was a great deal. I only made it to a couple of classes because I was in town for work, but if I lived in the area I'd certainly check out more. I really liked how each class started out with introducing yourself to someone standing near you--helped build a sense of community and just a great idea in general. Behind the check-in desk is an area for stretching/warming up--again, just a great idea.
I have to say that the first class I tried, powerbelle, wasn't for me. I had just started trying out barre classes at home, so I signed up for it based on the description that it was "barre on crack." I thought that would mean an especially challenging barre class, or barre interspersed with cardio, but instead it struck me more as a CrossFit interpretation of barre. I'm sure there are a lot of people who find that a fantastic combination, but for me, what I enjoy about barre is the ability to focus on maintaining good form and to modify to maintain a consistently challenging yet not overwhelming workout. I didn't find it to be a good format for either of those, and consequently didn't feel very good by the end of it. There were elements I liked, such as the slider discs, which I would enjoy seeing integrated into regular barre classes.
I came back the next day for Dance Club Cardio and had a much better experience. I figured it would be an off-brand Zumba, and that's exactly what it turned out to be, with a super peppy and friendly teacher, dimmed lights, energetic music, and good opportunities to sweat. The routines were fun and varied, easy to follow with some great songs for targeting particular muscle groups. I wanted to stay for TurboKick, which also looked like a blast, but sadly had too much work left to get done that night.
I have no reservations about recommending this studio to anyone. As long as you have an accurate idea of the class you're signing up for, you should have a good experience and get a great workout.
