This was my first time going here . It was noon on a Monday so it wasn’t busy. They didn’t have a kids menu. I ordered the fish and grits with a side of breakfast potatoes. My grits were cold but the fish was delicious. I took a bite in my honey butter biscuit which was cold . I tried the potatoes they didn’t taste fresh. (Cold) My boyfriend got pancakes, eggs scrambled with cheese and chicken sausage. Also he ordered a bottle beer. He didn’t drink the beer cause it was hot. Apparently the beer isn’t refrigerated it’s being kept it a tub with ice. The chicken sausage wasn’t completely cooked you can still see the casing on the end of the sausage and the eggs were cold . My daughter was satisfied she had two huge pancakes and bacon.

Had been to Gritz before and food was fantastic! Service was poor but I decided to try them again. Horrible experience me and my family went there for some good old creamy grits but that is not what we got! The waitress was very attentive but I notice that they were playing some not so pleasant music very loud and not what I would enjoy listening to, but pass that we were hungry and ready to order and eat. My issue with the food was that green stuff was sprinkled all over my food and I was told that it was parsley but I did not want it on my grits, eggs or my hashbrowns and my grits had cottage cheese in them. I was told that it was cream cheese but it was too lumpy my meal was ruined! I asked for the manager and she came out and told me directly that I could send the food back but she was not taking it off the check because she did not see anything wrong with it! I was appalled because as a customer I would think that she would have at least tried to correct the problem that I had with the food but she did not! I lost my appetite right then and there. But it gets worse ok we will pay for the food that she charged me for and I did not eat I just left it there and then got the ticket and the price on the menu was different than the price that was on the receipt! I asked the waitress what was the problem with the different price and she said that they had not updated the menu as of yet. I could go on and on but all I am saying is that I have never been to a resturant where the manager does not care if the customer enjoys their food and will charge you for the food even when you tell them that you are not satisfied with it. Will not be going there again. Just sayin...

This place was great! The food was tasty & the staff is super nice! Just a very chill atmosphere. I got the Fish & Grits (add a honey butter biscuit) and the hubby got the Peach Cobbler French Toast and both were AMAZING!!

My sister and I went for the first time yesterday. I was here before but only to pick up as a Door Dasher. Im glad that we decided to try it out. I ordered the peach cobbler French toast, while my sister ordered the chicken and red velvet waffles. One bite of the French toast and I threw my glasses like the influencer Jordan Howlett 😂😂😂. My sister said that her waffles were a little dry, but the chicken was really good. She wanted to try my French toast and when she did she quickly ordered it as well and took it to go. Needless to say, we are going to go back. The atmosphere was wonderful, our waiter was awesome, ask for Chicago if you decide to go. He was really nice.

Google
I would say the music is a little too loud for a breakfast joint. The food was pretty good but I think the cost is a little high for what it was. The salmon croquettes were not too bad but nothing too exciting. The grits were really good. The biscuit was also pretty tasty. My server was on point with everything. The food came out quickly. I didn't really see any parking other than street side.

Google
This place needed some help the day we ate there, all in the dining room. It looked as though the floor hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The food was amazing though. My omelet was very well made and delicious and had one of the best biscuits I’ve had in a long time topped with honey butter. We would go back but I hope they clean up the dining room before then. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great Sunday brunch experience! Food was delicious and the inside lighting was so nice on a sunny day. Service is a bit slow especially if the place is packed (like it usually is on weekends) so make sure to allot at least 1.5-2 hours for your overall dining experience. The volume of the music can also feel a bit overbearing. It was sometimes hard to hear the people at my table talking. But if you go with the right people and have plenty to talk about, it's a great experience!

Yelp
We had a reservation for 11:45. It's currently 1:30 and they have served a table of 5 that came in 40 minutes after us first. Enough said. I won't be back.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while heading to Gumbeaux and they did not disappoint. We arrived an hour before closing so the greetings were a bit soft, but after we were there for a while the welcoming vibes showed up. The food at this establishment is to be celebrated! Somebody is cooking from the soul and the kitchens of a true southern grandmother ( if she is not cooking herself). I ordered fried chicken, collard greens and mac & cheese....all very flavorful and yummy. The fried chicken was cooked to order, because we waited at least 30 mins for our food. My niece ordered yams and fried chicken, she said the yams were amazing. The restaurant was clean, the prices were decent and the food was "on point".... However, parking might be an issue, but we are definitely planning a return visit.

Yelp
Let's start at the wait - It was an honest 2 hour wait to be seated and they do mean 2 hour to the min. And it wasn't pack they have a system and they are sticking to it. The food was good except the collard greens that were toooo salty. So that was sad because we were looking forward to some Ga cooking. But everything else was great. I will definitely go back whenever I return to Douglasville.

Yelp
Second time here and it was better than the first! Plus the first was excellent!! The best biscuits in the world are served!! Can't go wrong with this place and you won't be disappointed. The server was impeccable and courteous

Yelp
The customer service was really good. I enjoyed myself there. The drinks were really delicious. The ambience I came early in the day so it wasn't busy. I enjoyed the food. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I tried their fried fish and spaghetti.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best wings I've ever had and the burger is so good as well! The collards are hard to beat!

Yelp
To say this was an amazing experience would be an absolute understatement. My experience at Gritz was astounding. From the service, to the ambiance, to the staff. It was all impeccable. Let me take you on my journey! After attending 9:30 AM Worship Service, the family and I decided to go out for brunch. After seeing the Yelp reviews for Gritz, we had to give it a try. We had a reservation for 7 so when we arrived we were able to be seated immediately as the entire party was present. The staff at the hostess stand were extremely welcoming. They greeted me with all smiles and truly radiated southern charm and genuine hospitality. Upon being seated, Britt (waitress) came over to the table to introduce herself. She was very pleasant and engaging and immediately made the experience an even better one. I'm talking about a TRUE representation of service that you don't see too often. As this was our first time at Gritz, Britt took the time to go over the menu with us. Share some of her favorites, and make a few recommendations for us based on what type of mood we were in. After the dialogue she took our drink order and allowed us some time to make up our minds. When all the drinks arrived, we were ready to order... You know I'm the weirdo so I ordered 3 Wings, Bacon, and Breakfast Potatoes. Babeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! When I say they did their thanggggggg in the kitchen. I mean they did their ones and their twos. LoL!!! The wings were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The seasoning was a blend that was superb to bring out the natural chicken flavoring but enhance the authenticity of the blend itself at the same time. The bacon was spot on. Thick. Juicy. Filled with the natural pork flavor, and enhanced through the perfect grilling that took it to its peak temperature for the natural juices to saturate the slice. This is how bacon should be done ALL THE TIME!!!! I want some more now just thinking about it. The Breakfast Potatoes were a gift from God. Ha! I'm talking, well seasoned, slight crisp on the outside, slight crunch on the edges, soft in the middle, and the perfectly grilled onions to take it over the top. Oh. My. Goshhhhhhhhhh!!!! These were ordered based off the recommendation of Britt and she did not fail me at all. Them Potatoes were Tato-ing. LoL!!! To add to my food pleasures, The Sweet Tea was soul pleasing to the 9th power. I'm talking Gallon Me Please!!! Last but not least, as if my Gritz experience wasn't amazingly astonishing mind blowing as it was. They had the nerveeeeeeeeeee to bring out a DJ who raised the ambiance by 1000% with all the jamzzzzzzzzzzz. My. My. My. Gritz truly outdid themselves. Though I live nowhere near Douglasville, this will be one of my recurring must go spots! It's that good!!!!!

Yelp
In Douglasville, I wanted something I usually don't have but I saw this spot and turned it was open til 5 it was almost 4 and they still took my order. The restaurant isn't brag-worthy but it's like the end of a building with a garage. I think with me coming towards closing I wasn't able to hey the quality that they usually pump out but it was edible and I just wanted a snack so I'll try again but hey I'm glad they took my order at the end of the day .
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Didn't care for the food. The food was very sub par and cold. We had to send it back to be warmed. The service was decent and the DJ had the vibes going and even had a way to request the song you wanted. Overall 3/5 probably wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Renee W.

Yelp
Love this place for brunch! Everything I have tried there is so yummy. The oxtails and grits, fish and grits, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles you name it! Just go lol
google avatar

Leslie L.

Yelp
Food was good, but the wait time for the food should not take 40 - 45 minutes. The waitress had not checked in for a food update. I had to ask them.

La Monica W.

Yelp
Food was good and the staff were attentive. The quaint atmosphere and setup was nice. I will go back.

Yelp
Not bad at all for a breakfast restaurant. The price point on everything and was pretty nice compared to every other breakfast spot. The breakfast plate was delicious while the fish and spaghetti was a no for me. The fish is not crispy at all and spaghetti was served cold, bland and lack of sauce. Wait time is about 15-20 minutes for that two small orders.

Yelp
BEWARE... NO ONE CARES! Smh. My husband and I had been excited to try this place because we're new to Douglasville. We made reservations for Mother's Day. I know a holiday is a tough day for restaurants but this was beyond rough. 15 minutes for two waters 20 minutes for a mimosa 45 minutes later... no food. It was only 2 of us and we ordered an omelette and pancakes. My husband had to be to work but wanted to treat me to brunch prior to going. Because everything took so long, we had to leave without food. There was no ETA on how much longer it would take. The server was lackluster and careless from the start. I wish I got her name for this reference but she was slim with exceptionally long lashes. The hostess who also seemed to be the manager didn't even come by to apologize or give a time estimate. We watched the server inform her of our concern. No response/no resolve. We watched another table leave as well. And quite frankly... no one seemed happy in the restaurant probably because of the slow service and long waits for food. Tragic. Someone call restaurant rescue because this place has potential but is struggling bad! And for the owners... you're losing lots of money! But please note: breakfast for 2 should not take an hour to prepare, I'm sorry! Perhaps y'all need a food expediter and some servers who have urgency. Now... I left after an hour unfed and unhappy. Happy Mother's Day to me! Smfh. Wish I made reservations elsewhere. What a waste! And very unfortunate because we're local so we could've become regulars. (Money lost)

Yelp
My favorite aunt brought me here for a pre-birthday brunch- I was looking forward to the Chicken & waffles(regular). I love the open, spacious dining hall that is flooded with natural light from the huge picture windows. Due to it being a Thursday, week day- there was only one server doing everything(serving, bartending, taking orders, clearing tables) I do understand a shortage in workers but she needed help. Her service was very pleasant, to clearly have much to do, she did not carry the pressure. However it did mean a little wait and to self checkout using a device that was left on the table(that was awkward as we were not instructed how to do it but after waiting awhile we figured she left it for us) I am pleased to say the wings were well seasoned, waffle tasty and my aunt had fried salmon which is something new, to see a fried salmon plank and it was good.

Lauren L.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the fish and grits and the peach bellini. Although they were short staffed, our waitress was amazing. The only reason I gave a 4 starts because one of the menu items (fish & spaghetti) was unavailable. I look forward to coming back and trying it.

Yelp
Visited for the first time last week with some girlfriends! We went to the Marietta location...it was small and sweet! Parking was good...not a big lot but plenty of spaces. There was a live musician playing the piano which added to the smooth atmosphere. Our food was delicious and I really enjoyed it here and will definitely go back

Yelp
Due to false advertising (or lack there of) will not be going back. Big sign in front of door "Happy Hour - 50% off" (only reason i entered as i was on my way to another restaurant) What they fail to tell you is that you have to ASK for happy hour as they only give you half of the food. We were not informed of that until we received our bill. I have no problem with having to ask, but i have never been to a restaurant in the past that doesn't advertise THE WHOLE DEAL. It rubbed me the wrong way and seems a little sneaky. I ordered more than i could afford with their normal pricing, and still tipped the absent waitress 20%. She could've at least been nicer in explaining the process rather than saying "you didn't ask for it". Food and service weren't good enough to save my opinion on Gritz Brunch Bar.
google avatar

Rose H.

Yelp
Not sure what happened when I went there yesterday but the food that I normally rave about was mediocre. Not sure when or if I will return The salmon patties were just okay...a little too salty and the cheese grits were bland.

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday at about 11am and were seated immediately. The inside music was extremely loud so we requested an outside table. Our server brought us menus and seemed a bit surprised that we had questions about what comes with some of the entrees. It was our first time but even if it wasn't how would we know if we didn't ask. For example, a breakfast plate is listed but no mention of what it includes. It was the same for the salmon croquettes, pork chops, etc. I suggest reprinting the menus with descriptions. I uploaded a copy of the menu to this review for your review. We finally decided on chicken and waffles and fish, skillet potatoes (substituted for the grits or spaghetti) and a honey biscuit. The biscuit was delicious along with the chicken. Everything else lacked seasoning or flavor. The skillet potatoes tasted days old so I let them be. I didn't request an alternative because I became full from the yummy biscuit. I had craved fried fish all week. When it came out, it looked beautiful on the plate even though I like my fish fried darker and crispier. Now here's the kicker. Besides underseasoning, the fish had been flattened so much that it tasted like fried batter. My assumption is it had been cut lengthwise which I'm usually okay with but in this case, it was too much. My husband was disappointed that his waffle was small and not fluffy. We wondered if he had received a kid's waffle. According to the server, she had heard this before and wondered if their new waffle makers had it affected the fluffiness. Now the chicken is their winner. I tried a bite of my husband's and it was delicious. Our server did a great job. We will go back again to try some of their veggies. Gritz is an asset to Douglasville and metro Atlanta. BTW, as we were wrapping up, customers behind us had just been seated when one said, "how am I supposed to know what's on a breakfast plate?." I got tickled before leaning over to share what's included. We have to help each other out. LOL!

Yelp
Wanted to love this place. The one star was for the food and the fact they had our favorite hot sauce. The SERVICE was very slow....... Not the place to go if you're hungry or thirsty. They must have one cook in the kitchen. Catfish and grits should NOT take more than 45 minutes, however it did come out hot. The catfish had a nice crunch, but was over salted.......which kind of made up for the bland non-seasoned grits. The bartender stayed in her phone more than she made drinks. A mimosa should not take more than 15 minutes. The server had a major attitude and disappeared. My mimosa was finished 10 minutes before she even came back to check. She passed by our table SIX times with no acknowledgment. Then she got mad when we cancelled the order for the next mimosa (again bartender on the phone). She returns to the table and informs us the bartender said we could have any way and that she would take it off of the bill. We declined . And......Welp........the bill comes and it was not taken off. She has an attitude about something she said she was going to do. We won't be going back.

Yelp
The food was excellent! Everything was amazing. The waffle was just ok. The biscuit was homemade...delicious! The service was good and prompt. Ambiance was cool, soulful music! ATL got it right!!!

Yelp
Let me start by saying this place is a whole vibe for a Sunday brunch. Came here for a friends birthday and we were a small group of 4. We arrived at 11 and we were sat right away and it seemed to get much busier about an hour later which is around the time the DJ arrives. The DJ was playing a great selection of music and did some birthday shout outs. I ordered the fish and grits and the sauce on it was delish! A little more sauce would have been good, but the service was very slow that it was hard to get anything timely and I didn't want to wait to eat it. The slow service is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Ambiance, food, drinks, vibe we're all awesome! Service was the only thing lacking.I would come back and just prepare in advance knowing that it will be slow service.

Yelp
The street parking in this area is not great, so I opt for the free parking deck which is close to the restaurant. Gritz Brunch Bar is on the smaller size; therefore, you may have to wait for seating. However, once you get inside you will find that everything is worth the wait. The staff members are friendly and responsive. The music is great and the beverages are amazing. Every entree has been very good so I do not have a favorite. Whenever friends and/or family are visiting, we go to Gritz. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
salmon croquettes and eggs grits horrible the biscuits was nothing special dry the eggs plain grits were to thick for me croquettes didn't taste home made the chicken sausage should Tell you it's spicy pancakes dry

Yelp
Service is terrible - food is great - our waitress was probably the worst I've had ever

Jordyn R.

Yelp
First timer here. 1st off the ambiance is nice. I'm sure it's much nicer in the warmer seasons, by the being garage doors. The service was nice, from start to finish. Shoutout to Malik, the server, Marisa, the bartender. The drinks were good. I had the Strawberry Bellini, and Blueberry lemon drop. Give it a taste, if you can't decide. Sweet, but still strong making an impact. Now on to the food. The food was delicious! I had the seafood omelette, peppers, and onions added. Side of bacon, and the breakfast potatoes. Everything was superb. I'm definitely making a return. Thanks, again Gritz Brunch Bar. Keep up the good work. -Jordyn Cinderella

Yelp
All around terrible brunch spot. When we first walked I. We noticed not one table had food, that should have been our first sign no leave. We were sat immediately and the waitress expressed that the kitchen was backed up and the it could be a while. We were out of town visiting family so it was no problem as long as we would order a craft mimosas. Little did we know our mimosas would take an hour and half. When we got our mimosas we didn't even have cups to drink out of. We finally ordered our food and it came out 30 min later and the food was good but had to ask for silverware and never got the syrup for a little girl pancake. Luckily the table next to us let us use there. Every time the kitchen door would open you can hear yelling and when you looked at the host stand you can see the severs taking shots. The sad part is that no one cared, no motivation, and no urgency and no manager giving direction. The servers just walk around doing nothing. Also make sure you check you bank accounts the server stole from me and gave herself an extra tip.

Yelp
4 stars for Gritz!! Tucked away in the center if downtown Douglasville, a gourmet spot worth the travel. We arrived at the right time and were seated quickly. Once seated our server took our orders and drinks came out relatively fast considering how packed it was. It's not very spacious so seating is at a premium. The food took a little longer to come out than I had expected, but they were packed. The food was hot when it arrived and taste great. Now that I know Gritzs is here I will surely be back. Reasonably priced too.
google avatar

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
Fish and grits are tasty and fresh. The biscuit is super yummy too! The wait isn't too long and service has always been great. Nice establishment and will continue to come back.

Elithea H.

Yelp
This place was great. Outdoor seating was quite pleasant and or Server was very kind. Service was a bit slow, but that was due to a large number of patrons, not our Server. We had no wait when asking to be seated outside, and soon there was a waiting list. We arrived just before the actual lunch crowd. Great hints if you plan on going here. But the best thing about this restaurant was indeed THE FOOD!! My friend had the Shrimp & Grits, and although the portions were smaller than we're used too in Louisiana, he said it was very good and appeared to enjoy it very much. I ordered the Pork Chops, with Mac & Cheese, and Candied Yams. Every bite of it was to die for!!! The Chops were boneless, and seasoned well, them fried to perfection. The mac & cheese was delicious, and the candied yams were amazing!! The yams were sweet and I could taste a bit of citrus. Just perfect! I'd highly recommend this restaurant. When I visit the area again, I will absolutely return as well! (Sorry I didn't get pics of the meal, I started eating and never looked back! lol!)

Yelp
I would recommend this spot if you're in the Douglasville, Georgia area. Very good mixed crowd having fun. My food was very yummy and the service and price was good.

Yelp
Great vibe for people who are seeking to hear awesome R&B while they eat. For my customer service seekers be patient. This is a very popular spot for brunch, lunch and dinner. For my Monday through Friday 1 hour or less for lunch unfortunately this is not spot. The only way you can arrive back to work on time is placing your order an hour ahead of your lunch. If you are visiting or looking for a new place to support the local economy I suggest stopping by.

Yelp
We were very disappointed in this place!! We knew we were going there for Easter Brunch, so we made reservations on line. Thank goodness we did because when we arrived, there wasn't a whole lot of people around, but it said that the wait was 45 minutes. Once we ordered our food, It took almost an hour to get the food. In all that time, the waitress never came to check on us once, we had to get the attention of others if we needed anything. Once the food came, we asked for things, and she didn't even bring some of the things that we asked for! They didn't bring or send all of the food we ordered. Then when we got the honeyed biscuit, it was like a hockey puck on the outside!!! The inside was good & tender though. The food was ok. I will tell you the salmon croquettes breakfast sandwich was really good!!! The peach cobbler French toast was made with canned peaches that were heated up - at least that's what it tasted like. If they ask you if you want strawberries on top of your French toast or on the side, go ahead & have it put on top cause you will only get 3-4 PIECES of strawberry (if allergic just do without). When the waitress finally brought our bill, she neglected to add the tea that we ordered, that's on her. However, the bill was $83.~~. We paid her with $100 bill and she only brought us back $11 change. We took it as she was taking that as her tip. I wouldn't bother wasting my money on this place!!!

Yelp
They do what they do well, the atmosphere is nice , and the food is on point , service is alil slow and I think they could use more space .

Yelp
This place is so cool . We ended up being the customers most service staff hates cause we showed up 30 minutes before closing but they still took us in and served excellence! Our server was Jayla (sorry if i didn't spell that right) and she was so nice ! The food was flavorful & i can't wait to try the rest of the menu !

Taylor J.

Yelp
Ordered impossible burgers and the waitress definitely gave us real meat with nothing on it but tomato... no lettuce onion pickle condiments. She told us they were out of everything, don't you mention that before you bring the food out? We just left
google avatar

Breia M.

Yelp
They have a great location and our server was fantastic, but other than that i would not recommend. My mom and I visited on a Thursday afternoon. So not too busy. The prices felt alittle high but was hoping that would reflect in the food quality. Not so much. Our food took about an hour to arrive and everything was almost cold. I ordered the spaghetti and fish and my mom shrimp and grits. The shrimp was good and my said the grits were ok. The fish and spaghetti was lacking. The fish was lacking any flavor or seasoning and the spaghetti felt like I was getting an old school lunch. The meals came with a honey biscuit which were raw in the middle. We questioned if we were too picky but when the lady came to the table beside us after the party left she literally asked " are they still here." Because they both took one or 2 bites out of there meal.

Yelp
I had a little to much high hopes for this place. The food wasn't bad. It just missed that extra idk:(. I do want to give it a second shot. The customer service and the music was FIRE! The presentation of the food was everything!
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is awesome I couldn't believe it I would have eating all my food but I was two full by the service side the Mac and cheese is the best next to mine it DIDN'T have that flour taste it was all natural the chicken was frying correct collard green sweet potatoes the next test I didn't get sick afterwards so I will be going back to take my best

Yelp
This place is super laid back and welcoming. Met with a friend for breakfast and the service was fast and courteous. The food was delicious, I am a big fan or shrimp and grits and they did not disappoint!

Yelp
The Gritz Brunch Bar had all the good vibes. We got sat right away and serviced pretty quickly. It is a small dining area with some seating outdoors. A little after being seated, a DJ set up beside the bar and played amazing music! He was shouting out small black owned businesses, playing a great mix of adult rnb & new hip hop. I would give the atmosphere a 5 stars!! I ordered the seafood omelette which came with grits, and a biscuit. I also ordered a side of chicken sausage. The omelette was very good. It was full and big and didn't skimp on the seafood in my opinion. There was a white sauce on it that was my favorite part, very creamy and rich! The grits and biscuit were good but nothing too special. The chicken sausage was also pretty good! I liked that they had that option because most places only have pork. Overall my meal was very good and the price was great! The only complaint I have is, it took a very long time to get our food. Over 30-40 minutes. They made a mistake and did not let us know that they ran out of the fried salmon that my friend ordered. It wasn't until we asked about our food did they tell us they ran out and he had to re order, which ended up in the food taking even longer. Had this not have happened I would have given it a 4! I would go back. The menu has some good looking things I want to try and the vibe is great! This place is also run my black people so that made the atmosphere even more inviting for us

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Great vibes and music is always good. During the week the lines are long and the food is always good! My favorite dish is definitely the seafood omelette. Portions are to bad either.

Yelp
Inside the restaurant there's a mildew smell. We were seated at 1:25 and we didn't get our food until after 3:00! We were not given any type of compensation. We will never come back.

Yelp
I'll keep this short and sweet. Went twice because I had to check this out solo AND with the family. Solo visit: Sat outside (this was in August), it was right before the lunch rush on a Thursday, perfect for a quiet meal and potential people watching. Second visit with family: sat inside roughly 30min after they opened on a Sunday morning. Both times I was immediately sat and tended to. You can't hear the music from outside so I didn't have the luxury of hearing Tevin Campbell sing to me from the playlist during my first visit, but inside the music is definitely heard. They play R&B (Gospel on Sundays), and it's not too loud but enough to drown out the whines of a toddler and their iPad. While I enjoyed sitting inside, I think that I preferred outside. The seating inside isn't bad but it's a bit cozier than I'd prefer in terms of space. There are only 4 or so tables outside so you get a lot more space to yourself. The food was good both times as well. On my solo trip, I had the Fried Salmon. Definitely was a good choice and decent portion for the price. I ordered the honey biscuits on the side and it was alright. It's essentially a biscuit with honey poured on it. My husband loved it when we came the second time but he likes anything dipped in honey. Again, not bad for the price. Second time there I ordered the seafood omelet and it was cooked just as I expected. I thought that there were a decent amount of seafood in it and the portion was a great size (in my opinion). Cost wise, I think this is comparable to most brunch spots in Atlanta, but probably a little more than some in the metro area. That's easily made up through the larger portions and the strong drinks. Oh yeah, the drinks....amazing! They do what needs to be done and both times I left feeling just right lol My only complaint? The amount of time it takes for the food to come. Have a plan and good topics for discussion because while you're not waiting an hour for food, you'll definitely wait more than 15min. Hopefully that has changed since I've been here. Overall, I'd come back again (might even pop in tomorrow). I think that Gritz is exactly what Douglasville needed and is perfect if you want something with a better vibe than your typical breakfast establishments. Oh and they have high chairs and didn't give us a hard time about the mess my toddler made. So I'd also say that they are family friendly which is a PLUS! *Fun fact, this is a black woman owned restaurant and she also owns Red Velvet, the spot next door, and another restaurant in Midtown I believe. Similar flavors, but definitely different styles and menus.
