This place was a lot of fun. We went for brunch and the vibes were 10/10. The MC was sociable and interacted with everyone, our waitress was attentive and it didn’t take us long to get seated. I got the catfish and fries with Mac and cheese and enjoyed it. I had to put a bit of lemon on the catfish to kind of neutralize the fishiness of it but I still liked it overall. The Mac and cheese was well seasoned too. My friend got the catfish and grits and that was 10/10! The grits had a Cajun-like seasoning to them and it came in a gumbo/seafood-like gravy. It was delicious. My other friend got the chicken wings and waffles they were good too. The waffles were fluffy and not too sweet. The wings were nice and saucy. Both of them got the mimosa tray and it came with 4 different flavored mimosas. Overall i would say it’s a good place to go if you’re looking to catch a vibe on a Sunday and have good food.

Horrible service. Someone in my party got dress coded and had to pay money for them to give her a shirt to wrap around her waist. We had to stand outside in the cold while they were handling the dress code situation. But we get inside and the servers have bbls with half their butt out and some other workers had their breast out, so modesty is only an issue when it comes to their customers. We were over charged and our tab had things that we didn’t order. The place is too loud you cannot hear anyone next to you. The food portions were so skimpy. My gumbo collard greens had 0 sausage and just 1 shrimp and barely any rice and greens, my friend ordered a side of greens and she had more greens than I had and I ordered a whole entree. They also forgot to give my friend her toast which was included in her meal and when she asked a waiter for it he said “oh do you want me to give it to you” like she ordered it. Half of my tab was just gratuity for a server I saw for 5 mins the whole day. I would never eat here again, I honestly wish I could give them 0 stars.

Great Saturday Brunch! We came around 5pm and got in quickly. It closes at 7pm but the vibes and food were great. The mimosa flight was delicious too!!

I went on a Saturday 2 hours before they closed. They closed at 7pm. It seem slow not packed. They charged 20 dollars for parking the lot was not full 😒. I found parking free. The city houston now have dress code policy to show in front of door. They do check ✔️ clothing. My main issue when going to these establishments is the gratuity added on all checks when the service is not always great. They had happy hour that had nice drinks 🍸. The food was good and didn't take long to come out. I sat next to bar I wish the server was focus more it seem like they were talking alot and forgot certain things realized it when coming to table. The place is well design and people was having good time. The dj was doing there job. I can tell why it's a popular brunch spot.

The food and vibes were extraordinary! I can truly say I had a very enjoyable time at Grooves on Sunday. People were dancing, the food was good, drinks were potent, and shout out to Lateesch for getting me seated really quickly and taking care of me. I know a lot of comments say that the wait time is long and that may be true but Lateesch and my server Shanice really looked out for me and made my experience memorable. Will definitely come back when I’m in Houston

It was our first time at Grooves In Houston and The services was great from the moment we walked in until the moment we left . Lateesch was so attentive and amazing! Diamond(From New York) our waitress was amazing as well and so helpful We loved her(please request her). We will definitely be back. Everyone was so friendly and always checking in on everyone . This place is definitely a 1000/10

Self parking $20 across restaurant valet parking $25. Nice vibe, great DJ and MC!

This was our first time at the grooves and from the food to the drinks and to the hospitality it was AMAZING! Lateesch gave us recommendations on the delicious pasta and stopped by us to check on us every single time she passed. Diamond (FROM NEW YORK)was amazing I don't think I ever received service like this EVER try to ask for her when y'all come, yall won't be disappointed!

10/10 New Year's Experience at Grooves Houston Last night was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Sade, the manager, was phenomenal and took great care of us the entire night--top-tier service and professionalism. Huge shoutout to Emily, our server in the VIP section--she was attentive, friendly, and on point all night. The food in the VIP area was amazing, the vibes were unmatched, and the music was on fire. The MC and DJs kept the energy high and the party moving all night long. Honestly, the entire staff was incredible and made the New Year's celebration feel special. Everything--from service to atmosphere--was done right. Definitely a 10 out of 10 experience. We'll be back for sure!

I love Grooves but, my last visit wasn't a good one. Food has never taken that long to come out. Our server can't remember her name , but I asked for a side of grits butter and sugar. The grits came out with no sugar or butter. When what I thought was sugar came out it was salt! The owner they said she was came out she was very nice, asked me about salt I thought she was saying sugar the music was loud which I like ! But to say all that the manager introduced her self also. But her comments to me when I apologized was it's ok now yall can go home! Where in our sixties don't look it! But we took it as a get out! And let it be known our Sunday had just began! Yall grooves was SUCH A TIME! We met the owner outside and I MUST say, she knows what she's doing with this restaurant/space. My friends and I went here for brunch and right when we walked in everyone was lit. The waitresses were very attentive and got us our mimosa tower and hookahs within the first 15 minutes of getting there. The music and DJ was amazing. The MC or whatever the person is who was walking around was hilarious and lit as well. He kept the vibes and energy up at all times. After my friends and I ate, everyone started line dancing and singing karaoke and I felt like I was at someone's cookout in someone's backyard. The energy was so unique and fun. The food- oh my goodness the food. 100/10. I had the catfish and grits with gravy and MY GOSH I swear if I had a man who knew how to cook like that I would be on my knees proposing. I didn't get to taste any other dishes but that meal activated every single one of my taste buds. Kudos to the chef, they did their thing. Regardless I love Grooves and I hope to be back very soon.

Since moving to Houston in late 2022 I've been to Groove's on multiple occasions for their unbeatable Friday Happy Hour specials. This time I returned to attend a live gameshow. Unfortunately, I feel as though the services rendered were a bit of a money-grab. Prime example, any other time cups of water are free. Apparently, with this being a special event, servers were told to only sell bottled waters (this was confirmed because our server showed us the text instructing staff to follow these sale practices for the night). Not to mention, it was EXTREMELY hot inside the venue. Thankfully, after speaking with the Manager on Duty, Mr. Curtis, he turned up the A/C and walked me back to my 2-person tabletop with 2 cups of water. We also ordered drinks (they were OK - not nearly as potent as they usually are) and a side of fries (thesaddest, shoe string portion of fries I've seen since McDonald's leftovers). I do appreciate the server refunding us for the (unopened) bottles of water, but the fact that I even had to address this (when I also saw that a nearby table had been given cups of water by their server) made for an uncomfortable start to an otherwise fun evening.

Came here for a show to see Michel'le and it was a cool venue with a nice vibe to it. Nice sized stage for a performance and tables everywhere to sit and chill. Had some drinks and enjoyed the show.

It's always a Vibe at Grooves and when I tell you that the Food is Goodt!, I mean it's hands down Goodt!! The Atmosphere is always Live and the service is Superb!! If you have never been then you're Missing out!! I Love it There Ms D

The food was ok. The server was nice and accommodating. It was early before the crowd started. If you are looking for a brunch party, I would book a later reservation.

Went for Sunday funday and would say the food and drinks in one word would be Mid. The pound cake pancakes were the best thing I had and from pictures I thought they would be fluffy but unfortunately were flatter than... The chicken sausage tasted like pork and the mimosa flight wasn't my favorite fo flavor and strength of drinks i've had before. Vibes, our server Kaya and DJ would make me come back. Dj was goood and read be crowd.

Stopped by here before leaving Houston for brunch. It offers good food, music, drinks, and vibes. This is the place to go if you're looking for a great day party brunch spot. Our server was great and attentive even though it was crowded. The food did not disappoint. I had the lamb chop breakfast and shared the poundcake pancake. The lamb chops are lollichops. They were tender and flavorful. It cane with eggs and toast which you can't go wrong with those. The pancakes were big, I took one and shared the other. The pancakes are good as well. You don't need syrup. I had an expresso martini and it was delicious as well, made just right. My friends stated that theh really enjoyed their meals which are pictured below :)

I came for the "ALL you can eat" crabs BUT they failed to say tht you could only get 1 cluster at time . We literally just wanted crab but they filled our tiny plate up with corn, potatoes, turkey necks, eggs, shrimp and sausage. We got hip the 2nd time we went up and just got a cluster. If you sit inside where they serve the buffet and just keep getting up for your 1 crab cluster that will work but our seat was on the main floor which made that a hassle. I eneded up only getting 3 small clusters, my friend 2 and my other friend only got one because she said it was not good. I thought it was OK just small and should have been able to sit and enjoy without having to keep getting up to eat. The club atmosphere was fun, good waiters and good music but paying 120$ for 6 small clusters was wild. I will not be back.

Grooves of Houston never disappoints! From the amazing food and great entertainment to the top-tier hosts and the absolute best waitresses--everything about the atmosphere is just fun and unforgettable. The vibe, the energy, the service... it's always a good time. Love it here!

Food and service was great!! The table cloths were just really dirty and I attended for brunch when they just opened so it was a little disgusting knowing that was old crud and old dried up food from the day before or GOD knows when. Maybe they shouldn't use black tablecloths. Everything else was a great experience! I loved the food and they have beautiful murals (Beyonce and Zodiacs) to take pics in front of. They sometimes have a great band playing music too!

Service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Small crowd but much energy. Good lil over delivered! If you want a total experience then please come out! You won't be disappointed and that's on my granny's Big Toe!!! And I LOVE my granny and her toes!!! Ask for Brandi !!!!!

Most definitely have a reservation. You will be seated right away. Our waitress was awesome. This is the first time, I have ever had to give my debit/credit card to start a tab for food at an establishment before receiving the food. It was similar to if you started a tab at a bar. She kept the card until the end of the service, which made me very uneasy. But after vibing for 10 minutes in this place, I quickly overlooked it. My friend and I ordered mimosa flights. We got to choose four different flavors. My other friend ordered a carafe. Next time, I'll order the carafe. It seems you get your monies worth that way although the flight is so cute and gives you different options. If you don't want an upbeat, loud, fun and hype atmosphere, don't go here. This place is a vibe from the time you walk in until you leave. There is a DJ blasting the hottest jams. An MC walks around to do sing alongs. The waitresses dance their way to your table for birthday tributes. The food was good and was delivered timely. I started with a fried shrimp deviled egg appetizer. Yum! The red velvet waffles were fluffy. The fried chicken was piping hot. I ordered the sauce on the side. Glad I did. I favored dipping the chicken in ranch versus the Asian sauce. Our waitress checked on us often. We were so sad to leave. We needed to catch a flight. We would have stayed for our full 2 hours otherwise. The bathroom was very clean because they have a bathroom attendant. She accepts cash and cash app tips. Had a great time!

Everything went well!! The food was great. Our service was excellent and the atmosphere was lit! The Aunties really enjoyed ourselves all the way from SC. Thanks for an amazing time!!

First time there and immediately stopped at the door because my shoes were considered "house shoes" because of the fur. Well dressed. They manager comes outside and offered me shoes from her car. Yuck funny because she was dressed like she was headed to a bbq. I don't get it but hey. I will never be back.

Grooves in Houston was definitely a vibe! I didn't try the food, but from what I saw, it looked great--so I can't speak on that, but it's worth mentioning. The prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was unmatched. Everyone was having a good time, the energy was high, and it was packed (in a good way). We went on a Saturday during the day, and to my surprise, there was no cover charge, which made the experience even better. We did try the margarita tower, and while it was just okay--tasted like house liquor--it still did the job. Beggars can't be choosers, right? If you're looking for a lively spot with great energy, Grooves is a solid choice for a fun time.

We had a time!!!!! Front drop off, one of the staff members took our picture outside,, (group of 10) The energy in Grooves was high! Nothing but good vibes the entire time we were there.!!! From the DJ to the host, we kicked it! We ordered a mimosa tower, it was okay, it's a mimosa. I ordered the wings and fries., really good!! My only drawback, our waitress didn't tell us initially that everyone had to be on the same ticket, which wasn't an issue but we would've liked to know in advance...if ever in Houston again, I would definitely go back!

I was in Houston celebrating my 45th birthday. I called to reserve ahead of time & did this with ease. When we arrived, the manager & staff were very polite & professional. Our server Shenece did a great job! We were overcharged $38 but we should have reviewed the bill better. Overall, a great experience!! 10/10 This was our second time here & we'll definitely return.

Food was Great, LikkkA Was StrongT... Service Was Good, Ambiance was Terrific. Definitely a Brunch Spot To Try Out When In Houston. Straight Party, DJ was On Point as well as the HYPE MC. We Linedance and R&B Sung. The Whole 2 Hrs Was The Best Time.

I visited this restaurant as my first time in Houston. First thing I noticed was the parking lot across from the restaurant that offered a huge amount of parking space. It was $20 to park but there was no time frame. The entrance was ADA accessible which didn't apply yo my specific group but I found it to cool. Upon entrance we were greeted with welcoming "Hello's" and smiles from two beautiful women. They seated us promptly and the server was right behind us getting seated. I did inform them that I was celebrating a big birthday and they put my name on the sign that read, "Happy Birthday Tara" when we asked the waitress what was best in the menu she helped us pick out meals and they were delicious. We also got a chance to get pics on their graffiti walls which was an added touch. Overall 10/10 for service, environment and food. I would go back especially for those seafood grits! Yum!

My friend and I had such a good time at Grooves. We definitely recommend coming back. The food was hot and came out fast. We did get there early as well. Our waitress was amazing. She made sure we had everything that we needed and our drinks never got low. The atmosphere was amazing! The music was even better!

I attended Grooves on a recent visit after years. Entry was still pretty good and always was in the past. The food is always decent at Grooves. I have always loved the space, but they have added a massive amount of tables since the last time I've been, and it is almost too many. It's kind of hard to maneuver throughout the place. The drinks are good, and their prices are decent. One thing that turned me off a bit about my most recent experience is that the customer service was not what it once was. Some of the servers are a bit rude and pretentious. I understand that they have a tough job, but a bit of a smile would not hurt. It was a couple of bartenders that were pleasant.

I wanted to like this place so bad but was let down. It's a vibe for sure , plenty of music and dancing and the waitresses seem like they have fun at work. Latise is a horrible manager. Was rude to someone I was eating with when she asked a question about other seating in the restaurant. Just mugging the whole time she's at work, very unprofessional. Chicken was over cooked, No lemon pepper seasoning might as well had been plain fried chicken. Red velvet waffles were cold and tasted like plain waffles . Id come here only for drinks and that's it .

My friends and I were searching all over social media for a great brunch spot with good food and music, and we came across this place. The vibes and ambiance were everything we were looking for--full of young people just enjoying themselves. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and once we settled in, we ordered the tall mimosa tower, which tasted amazing. For my entrée, I went with the pasta, and it was incredible--whether I was just really hungry or it was that good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The seasoning was perfect, and the presentation was spot-on. If I ever find myself back in Houston, Texas, I'd definitely come here again. The service was fantastic, and our server was awesome--everything we asked for came out promptly. I totally recommend this place if you're in Texas!

Been coming here since i was 21 and baby this establishment does not fail me ! It is black owned and owned by a woman who is holding it down with the food food drinks vibes and music ! 1000/10 highly recommended a great MC and DJ ! And the servers and management are top tier !

Great place! Wonderful vibes. The service was remarkable! Drinks were well made and tasty. Food was ok. I Had to send back the pineapple dish but it was easily resolved and replaced with delicious deviled eggs. Everyone who worked there that I encountered was pleasant and had a fun pleasant attitude.

I had my 50th bday party there Nov 1, 2025. They took all my items I brought and used them to decorate my table and the works was done up for me. Everyone and my whole party catered to us from the managers to the waitress and even the DJ. Very professional not what I expected but loved. This party was turned up 100%. The vibe was right and even others in the club were very full of life but respectful too. The food and drinks were great and on time. Have your party there and enjoy yourself!

You will definitely have a good time, but prices for brunch are ridiculous. No split checks during brunch either. Mimosa tower $90 flavor $20 Gratuity $44 and taxes $18. We had 2 towers 1 crown apple no food and our bill was $283.

My line brothers and I were in Houston for a trip. We made reservations for a Saturday brunch at Grooves. We did make it early so it wasn't popping when we arrived. I ordered a mimosa flight and catfish and grits. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. There was no flavor. The flight was just okay. But i wasn't impressed with the ambiance. I seen old worn out chairs and the inside was dark and dungeon like. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere.

I was in town for night 1 of the Cowboy Carter concert and had an 11 a.m. reservation for Grooves. The food was outstanding!! I had the red velvet waffle with honey bourbon wings. Chef's kiss for real!! The ambiance, music, and people were such a vibe!! I met the owner, Felicia Drake, and took pictures with her. She was incredibly personable and very sweet!! My waitress, Diamond, was also a sweetie and took excellent care of me throughout! She took pictures with me and of me and showed me where to get a cowboy hat for the concert!! Definitely 10/10 for this spot!!

Came here for my birthday from Cali and the ambiance was nice, I would give it a 4 but we were sat down and no one came to check on us. Our server was in another area and I had to drop someone after a million people walked by which was crazy, seeing someone sat down without water of course we wasn't helped smh! Our server was nice she took cared of us the chicken was fire but the red velvet waffle was a little soft to my liking , the mimosas was good and my bestie loved her pound cake pancakes .. the music was good and the crowd was lit, nice R&B 90s music

The food was AMAZEBALLS!! I ate sooo many chicken wings because i couldn't stop! The service was great. They were so kind and made the ambiance and experience that much better. The DJ was doing his thing! We will definitely be back for happy hour.

Sept 14th, 2024 On, Sept 14th I was invited to my friends Virgo's Bday Brunch! And, I ordered the pineapple chicken bowl because I've always wanted to try one. Their drinks were on point too. Our, waitress was pretty cool ,and she made sure everyone was good. And, check on us if we needed anything. The ambiance was bright and colorful with comfortable seating. Also, they had a DJ playing the hottest new tunes ,and a Hype man to hype the crowd! Yes, I'll definitely be back!!!!

Happy hour was a whole vibe, Hookah and drink specials reasonable and the DJ was on point all night. I hand t been to grooves since 2011 and was surprised that it was a TIME!!

We visited Grooves of Houston as their brunch came highly recommended. We were very happy with the food and the vibes. Our server Jasmine provided excellent service and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend anyone visiting from out of town to make sure you visit Grooves of Houston

Grooves is where my friends & I had the most fun! It was so lit and the music catered to all age groups. The host was amazing!! I also loved that they did hometown shoutouts.
