Fantastic selection of barrel-aged ales and barleywines—definitely a must-visit for fans of big, bold beers. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and explore unique brews

Google
Had an amazing time at Grossen Bart Brewery! A huge thank you for inviting us to serve our customers at your fantastic venue. They truly have some of the best beer in town, with a great selection to satisfy every taste. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, and their spacious back patio is the perfect place to relax with a cold drink. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to hang out, this brewery is a must-visit!

Google
Grossen Bart Brewery is a nice little spot to stop at for some nice refreshing beers. They had 15 options on tap for my stop including: citra pale ale, pilsner, an amber, kolsch, American IPA, grapefruit IPA, orange lager, Dill mexican lager, malt liquor, a hoppy mexican lager, mexican golden lager, mexican dark lager, amber Czech lager, a barleywine, and a Gose sour. Not a ton of big beers but very refreshing. This little brewery is not fancy but it is comfortable with plenty of seating inside and out. Service was friendly and they have several games to play while you sit and enjoy their beer. Definitely worth a stop.

Google
I recently visited Grossen Bart Brewery for the first time. I really enjoyed the experience and it definitely won't be my last visit. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a great brew.

Google
A great place to hang out especially if you like to take your doggo with you. Plenty of space in and outside. It was nice and cool inside too. There are lots of board games for all ages. Pinball machines, darts and corn hole is available too. I had the black IPA, malty and bitter.

Google
Went in yesterday and had a great time. We discovered the famous JJ and her legendary service, apparently shes kind of a big deal. Beers were good, no complaints, really like the Irish stout. Def will go back.

Ryan Schnell

Google
Lots of different beers to choose from. There's some regular taps, and some experimentals at all times. A fire pit in the back gives a camp-like vibe, and makes winter tolerable. Also, they have a Poke gym and three Pokestops nearby.

Google
This is a very practical place. No fluff here. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done. Beerwise, all of the beers tasted did not match my expectation of the style of beer listed and that's a good thing. It's like they removed the worst parts of every style of beer and left the rest. Pretty cool. Oh, and they like facial hair a lot.

Yelp
This one's a little hard to find. I wasn't sure if I was turning into the right spot. Thankfully I was. Not a super friendly vibe at this place, but my IPA was tasty. No brewery sticker either, which is a shame as the logo on the glass would have been a cool sticker for my beer fridge back home.

Yelp
How do you talk about a brewery when you are only there to play games? I found this place because it hosts a board game night. The folks who run it are laid back and their product is good. I can often find something new to sample each week I am there. Some nights they have live music and a food truck. Nice place to just chill as well.

Yelp
Grossen Bart is yet another new brewery that has emerged in Longmont since my job was based for five years in this small city. There were a few breweries back then but I believe it's about doubled since I have returned for a visit. This brewery is in a part of town I'm not familiar with at all so it definitely required some GPS in order to get there. For this brewery I got one of their beers which I really enjoyed. Kolsch beers are often what I turn to in the summer if a lager isn't available or I'm wanting something different. The Stubble Kolsch is the name of the beer I had. Nice flavor profile for sure with it's clean and light features it is typical of most kolsch beers but this one had a slight fruity and coffee features to it. That may sound like a clashing combination but the balance was there and well maintained. Nice place to relax at and worthy of returns!

Yelp
The Coconut Porter is hands down the best brew in Longmont ! And you can get it to go! I highly recommend!

Yelp
Great beer: I tried a Russian stout and an Irish red. Very different types of beer, both were very good and unique approaches. Others in my group were equally pleased with their selections. Friendly service: Helped us pick the right beers and welcomed us to hang for a while. Great space inside & out: it's hidden back in the corner of an industrial park, but they're making the most of it, with cool decor and multiple outdoor spaces. Very social feel, with good live music often. There was a truly remarkable grilled cheese sandwich food truck while we were there.

Yelp
Went there on 4/11/21. It was our first time here. Big patio which is nice. Part of the patio is in the front of the building which is cement. The back patio is rocky. Lots of tables. Inside. They have 2 community tables then a few high tops. All spread out. They are dog friendly which is a huge bonus. They have a lot of beers on tap. From light to dark. We had 2 flights of 5 beers, then we bought 3 bottles. Their bottles were of barleywines and stouts. In our flights we tried: Irish red, 720, Hefeweizen, rye barley wine, amber, smash barley wine, blueberry Berliner weise, schwarzbier, chin curtain ipA, tornado ipA. The barley wines were unbelievable! The Irish red was delicious. Overall all of the beers we ordered great. Will def be back! Cheers!

Yelp
Beer is ridiculously boring and super ho hum. Colorado has some world class breweries, ever wonder why you never heard of this one? It's because it's uninspired piss water. The regulars are the worst too if you pay an annual fee you get a mug and are part of the mug club... Okay well Mugs don't do anything for the beer either in taste, aroma, mouthfeel etc. It's essentially a shaker pint in terms of what it does for a beer. Funny enough they still sell their super high gravity beers in snifters (at least they do something right.) You'll see the regulars because they'll all be outside smoking weed and drunkenly talking crap about other times they sat outside drunkenly talking crap. This place also LOVES to say they brew Barleywine.. I'm not sure any of these yocals have ever had a Barleywine but they sure can brew astringent malty hop sodas with wonderful fusel alcohol aromatics.

Yelp
I visited Grossen Bart Brewery one evening for an ale tasting. The theme here is "beards." If the Beard Club had their own craft brewery - this would be it! I tasted the following ales: Strip Tease Pale Ale (6.1% ABV) Chin Curtain IPA (7.7% ABV) Anker Beard Amber Ale (5.4% ABV) Stubble Kolsch (4.8% ABV) Phast & Wreckless Wrye WIPA (6.5% ABV) All the beers were enjoyable - I think the Phast and Wreckless Wrye WIPA was my fave! The barkeep was awesome! Although the place was pretty busy - she kept coming over to check on me and chat with me as she had time. #GrossenBartBrewery

Yelp
Fun place, great beer, good outdoor areas! Food truck while we were there was stellar too!

Yelp
Absolutely fire beer! Very nice staff! Incredible atmosphere! Go Vikings! Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Yelp
Super cute place with yummy beers. The beers are darker with higher ABVs. Interior was nicely done. Cute outdoor area with a fireplace! Great place!!

Yelp
We showed up 4 minutes before they opened and waited until 10 minutes past opening time before deciding to leave. Disappointing because I've heard great things about their beer but patrons don't want to wait outside in the heat, waiting for the doors to open when there are several other brewery options in town.

Yelp
Pretty sweet hidden spot in Longmont. All beers I had were good, especially the Oktoberfest!
google avatar

Yelp
I feel like this is the kind of brewery one would find in Boulder. But in Longmont! Muy interesante. Solid beer. A nice popcorn machine in the back if you want to munch on stuffs while you drink. The only downside is that... I felt a little left out for not sporting a beard. Grossen Bart, I'm working on it.

Alex D.

Yelp
Google said they open at 1:00, they have a sign saying yes they are open, and a man inside that says they don't open until 3:00.

Adam K.

Yelp
"Another focus of Walter's brewing is the "pintability" of the beer. He wants to brew beers that aren't just one and done wild drinks that you try just for kicks. Not only is this good from a sales perspective but also from an enjoyability angle. A pint of beer is the unit of measure in my world. Don't Drink the Yellow Snow is a fine specimen here because despite the 9.6% ABV this Imperial Pilsner is unstoppably smooth and it's definitely designed for the take-home crowler or multiple glasses." Yelp
I love the annual Cray Day crawfish boil!!! Such a good time and a great way to meet people!

Yelp
The service was the best part of my visit. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place. I have no intention of ever returning. I went in, as my first visit, set on trying a flight. Three of the five I asked for were not available. How does a brewery run out of beer, repeatedly. The popcorn and pinball machines were not working. $10 for a flight of five small beers? Ridiculous. All the way around.

Yelp
Meh... Not the most welcoming brewery in Longmont. Arrived around 7 on an uncrowded night. No bartender anywhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Beers were all over the place- they don't seem to really specialize in any category except the beard themed names for beer. Of all the samples my boyfriend and I tasted, none stood out. The big kicker (turnoff) was their wordy sign posted under a confederate civil war painting justifying their right to hang it- to showcase the epic beards of that era. Too much info! And why do they feel the need to justify if they're 100% ok with the content? Get with the program- there were lots of other historical figures boasting amazing facial hair that would be less divisive among customers. I suppose freedom of speech, right?

Tarrance M.

Yelp
This place is great! The beer is great they offer merch, darts, board games, arcade games and great art/decorations. Highly recommend it ! I got the chin curtain ipa DELICIOUS !

Yelp
I have been going here for some time now and enjoy having a cool spot in Longmont to hang out with friends and enjoy a festive environment. The owners have done an excellent job creating a great space to congregate. There are a variety of seating options to cater to a variety of groups. There's the bar stools, 4 tops, and bench tables that would easily accommodate 12 adults. The interior is slightly rustic, very clean, with some ever changing chalk artwork done by one of the owners. A quick mention about the civil war prints that a couple people have raised issue with. First, they are very nice, historic prints. Second, the Union won Gettysburg, so it's actually ironic art, not racist. They have organized a good variety of events going on throughout the month, it's worth your while to check out their website and see what's going on. They have bands regularly, beard trimming stylist that come in, trivia night, and even comedy nights. Now, about the beer. These guys have an excellent variety of solid brews. My current fav is the "Anker Beard Amber" ( which one person previously mentioned as "Dark Black", which it isn't, included a pic to show its true color). My second fav is the "Walrus Oatmeal Stout", very hearty, full bodied stout. My third is the "Coconut Porter" which should be coming around again soon. As for the Brewers, they are very solid on their knowledge of brewing and express a great amount of passion for their craft. They are always liberal with their information and happy to tour you through some tasters to find something that makes you smile. Contrary to a previous review, they don't charge for samples, other than a $1.50 for the Beet Cancer Ale, which makes since as the profits go to charity.

Yelp
My son Donovan is introducing me to Craft beer and took me to Grossen Bart Brewery. I had no knowledge of Craft beer prior to this and I now see what all the hoopla is about. Grossen Bart is my favorite of all the breweries we gone to in the Denver area over the last 10 days! I really like their Dirty Sanchez and hope to make it back over to get some to take back to my friends at Lake of the Ozark's for the August boat races. The Brewery is small and their decor is awesome and gives off a welcoming vibe. Their theme is facial hair which is fun especially since I have recently shaved mine but their coasters provide a mustache for all patrons! Try Grossen Bart you will not be sorry!!!!

Yelp
This place has more character than any other brewery in Longmont. They brew consistent, quality beers, and while their clientele may be a little "rough around the edges," it's a philosophical and artistic place to visit. I recommend to anyone with respect for humankind and beer (and if you don't have respect for those, what is the point of anything?). I've never had a boring experience at Großen Bart. Their Chin Curtain IPA is exceptionally drinkable. They always have sessionable beers for designated drivers, that taste amazing to boot (get there this summer for the seasonal Dirty Sanchez Mexican lager). Another perk: they're open late.

Yelp
We have been so stoked about the explosion of breweries popping up in Longmont. We heard about Grossen Bart and had to make a stop. First of all, it's kind of hard to find. Hopefully at some point, they'll get some better signage. The location otherwise is super neat. There's a great vibe - it almost seems like they're still working on some decor but overall, very cool. Fun mustache-themed names for their beers - so hipster. They have free popcorn, games, long tables for groups, high tops, bar seats and a little bit of outdoor seating. This would be a great spot to hang out on a cool summer evening as they have a garage door that opens up to the outside. Very cool! The beer for us was just alright. Everything listed was gluten free which is great! However, we were slightly disappointed with both the flavor and the body of the beers. We tried one each of the kolsch and the coconut coffee porter. Unfortunately, they just missed the mark. We'll certainly try again, though!
google avatar

Jenn M.

Yelp
Good beer, interesting craft offerings, nice space. Love the Chin Curtain. They try out lots of special brews too. Outdoor space in warm weather too. Not happy about the civil war artwork. Makes me uncomfortable. They stay open later than most.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
These guys are great Brewery team! They put out some swell IPAs and there is always a fun atmosphere.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
Delicious beer and great atmosphere. Only noticed one problem: One of the owners is always serving beer and he always has a "ho-hum" kind of attitude- kinda like he's either pissed, stoned, or just bored with people (perhaps all three?). This happens a lot at breweries that put one of the owners as a bartender- just doesn't work! It's good to see breweries who trust their hires and have high expectations from them. That being said, we love this place haha!
google avatar

Kendall B.

Yelp
Super amazing atmosphere and patrons. Love attending all events and nightly conquests there!
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
Love the people! Love the events! There is something to appeal to everybody. Art, trivia, resident food truck, and themed parties. Plus some of the best brews around! Facial hair not required!

Forrest F.

Yelp
Tried the strip-teaser pale ale at a local longmont bar, loved it, so I decided to check this this place out. Great beer. It was hard to judge bartender on one visit but she clearly knew what she was talking about and took care of us in a timely manner. Music.... Good but interesting not your classic rock but very pleasing background music while you drink your beer and socialize. Plus all the beer are name after facial hair styles.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
This is what longmont needs, a cool new brewery w great fresh beer. The dry Irish stout w fresh pressed coffee is delicious, the IPA while high in ibu was florally and had a nice kick at %7+. The Amber is tasty as well with a nice malt body. Definitely my new spot to chill in town. Owners are super chill, and they have food you can order from Momma's across the street for pretty cheap.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
I took my wife and mother-in-law to this brewery last Saturday after Christmas to have a beer and check it out. Found that the bar-tender/owner was an asshole. The beer sucked too. Do not go to this brewery. With al the good breweries in Longmont(Oskar Blues, Pumphouse, Left Hand, etc.) I would not recommend trying this. They were extremely rude.
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Best brewery in Longmont hands down. Every beer is on point. There's always something going on as well like bands, food trucks, yoga on Sundays, magicians, trivia, stand up and so much more.

Roger S.

Yelp
FUN Place! Went for the Mardigras in March party. Beer was great! Music was better. Not a huge fan of mudbugs, but these were good. Great place. I will be back! Rog S

Krystal R.

Yelp
I love beer!! And this place does not disappoint. I got a flight, which is in the shape of a moustache! I got Kilngon Blonde, Walrus Oatmeal Stout, Balbo Blueberry Berliner Weiss, Anker Beard Amber and Chinstrap Session IPA. They all kicked ass!! Drink beer here, k.
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
The BEST beer in Longmont. Come on down for their strip teaser pale or chin curtain ipa. Outdoor patio. Live music. Beards.
google avatar

Aimee O.

Yelp
Excellent beer, great service. I love going here. It is a very unique brewery, which is perfect for Colorado, unique is our middle name. I have been here three times so far and it was all in a span of 4 months and will continue to go there. The environment is great for relaxing as well as having a great time with friends. I would say it is like the Starbucks of beer.
google avatar

J S.

Yelp
Favorite place to go have a beer! The staff is awesome and they have amazing beer! Highly recommend if your looking to try some awesome craft beer!

Brenna M.

Yelp
The beer is great and Heather is a gentleman and a scholar! There is only one word that can accurately describe the beer experience provided by Heather, and that is scrumstralescent!

Matt S.

Yelp
I loved every beer in this place! (Which is unusual) and the staff and atmosphere is fantastic!!!! #heather rocks! #beer Ha ha ha
google avatar

Ailish M.

Yelp
Good beer, great atmosphere. Brought our kids and they played games. Plenty for them to play while we tasted here. Heather was extremely helpful with beer flavors and brewey info. Had a great time !

David M.

Yelp
A favorite of mine. Have followed the brewer from his time at FCB, creative and conscientious about quality of product. Hard to find but keep looking You won't be disappointed.

Stephane S.

Yelp
Some of the worst service I have ever had. 2 hot headed guys tending the bar, not giving any information about the beers. I sat in my chair for 15 min before one of the guys even came over. I ordered the Amber wich was dark black and was commenting on it, the bartender said "we are the only ones who brew amber beer correctly". Plus they charge for samples. You would think a new brewery would be excited to share their craft...not planning on returning.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Great beer, great service and they're dog friendly. I forget what I had but it was amazing.

Trish W.

Yelp
I tried the brown ale, pale ale, and the Irish coffee stout. All of them were good! I like the atmosphere and we had a good time while we were here!

J N.

Yelp
I am giving them one star because I can't give them zero. I have been to this establishment multiple times. The beer is average, but I have found the staff to be unfriendly and sometimes rude. I have given the place multiple chances to see if it was just certain people or perhaps the staff was just having a bad day. At this point I just think that rudeness is the prevailing attitude at this place. Fortunately, Longmont has many other alternative places to get craft beer. I would recommend going to any of the other breweries rather than being treated poorly at this one.
