As a former Viennese my standards for Schnitzel aren't exactly low. My all time favorite is by Plachutta's Gasthaus zur Oper in Vienna (thicker meat than the more popular Figlmueller rendition). However, Grosz managed to convince me with their Wiener Schnitzel in Berlin. In fact they are the best and I tried several here. The outside crispy and hot, with the characteristic crunch and taste I expect from a proper Schnitzel. The inside juicy, tender and flavorful. Joined by a side of proper potatoe salad. What's interesting though is that you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner of classic German/French cuisine with consistent high quality across all dishes here. What surprised me: the delicious pastries of their cafe in the front. The lemon-raspberry mousse and the nougat cake are a dream.
