Grotta Giusti Resort Golf & Spa (Monsummano Terme, Tuscany) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"We’re often partial to cutting-edge design around here, it’s true — but a hotel like this one, in the postcard-perfect Italian countryside, proves that the classics never go out of style. Here, in inland northern Tuscany, roughly between Florence and Lucca, stands the century-and-a-half-old Grotta Giusti Natural Spa Resort, a 64-room luxury retreat that’s straight from the old school." - Tablet Hotels

Classic hotel in an old estate with a spa built on top of thermal caves. Amazingly one of the kid-friendliest places we went, with robes for everyone, a great pool, good food

We had a wonderful time at the spa. We got a day package with the meditarium circuit, the outdoor pool, and the grotto and we also booked 2 swedish massages. The meditarium circuit was fine. It was nice to spend some time in the saunas and swapping between hot and cold but nothing too special. The massages were great. Not quite as much pressure as american massages but very relaxing and nice. The cave was cool. It was fun to walk around and then sit for a while in the heat. A fun experience that is very unique, which really is the point of traveling yes? Our favorite part was the pool! It was pretty and warm and not too crowded. Very peaceful way to spend an afternoon. We also ate at the cafe, which was deillicious and enjoyed sitting by the pool with our food.

The staff were super friendly and the pool area was great for relaxing, but the massage I came for just didn’t quite hit the mark. For €160 I was hoping for something a bit more intuitive and dynamic, but it felt repetitive and light on pressure. Very routine and not exceptional, which isn’t what I was expecting at that price point. I really wanted to love this place, but if you’re mainly coming for a massage, you might find better options nearby.

The accommodations were lovely and had muted colors in the room with marble bathroom. I didn’t get a suite or anything and it was perfect for just myself. The grounds are beautiful as were all the spa areas. I opted for the grotta, and it was a great experience! I highly recommend. Nezzerano was manning the top and gave me a detailed explanation of it all and a nice history as well! You could tell he was really proud of his job! The restaurant was top notch and the dishes wonderful and elegant for dinner. The bar was great for Appertivo and the bartender remembered my order! You can also get some American style food there too, but before the traditional dinner time as all the cafes close for proper dinner leaving only the restaurant to chose from. The thermal pools were a lot of fun and there’s plenty of room to lay out and enjoy the sun, even in October! The cafe was great by the pool too with many options. The girl working there was all by herself and she busted it trying to get everything done! Bussing tables, taking orders, making coffees, taking food out. I was so impressed by her!! I would definitely come back again and try the mud/massage experience next time as well. I’m sad to go!

Actually it’s more of a solid 3.5/5|Nice location, the hotel building looks fresh, clean and almost luxurious. However, first of all, avoid rooms 225 and the ones nearby. Instead of a peaceful garden, or just backyard, you’ll get a view on the outdoor laundry storage, with staff talking, smoking, making phone calls and rattling noises all throughout the day - forget a peaceful daytime nap. |At night, it’s quiet (probably, until about 7 am), however, the walls are so paper thin that if you have the bad luck of your neighbors talking or watching tv, you’ll hear every word and won’t be able to sleep - I didn’t. |So despite the lovely setting, it wasn’t a relaxing experience. ||The thermal pools were probably good 15 years ago. Now, the facilities are very run down and dirty. The pool area has an unhygienic vibe. The staff is extra friendly and wonderful though! They’re the only reason the review didn’t get 3 stars ||Also, the restaurant food was surprisingly good.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. There were so many areas to use the thermal pools and steam rooms. I was lucky enough to be the only one in the caves for about 40 min and it was a great experience. The staff was all very attentive and helpful. I loved the room, I had a Jr Suite and it was very spacious and the bedding was soft and comfortable. I had such a relaxing stay at this hotel

The + points|- Beautiful room (the grand deluxe with terrace - 665 € per night)|- Hotel lobby and garden are lovely|- Staff were nice and helpful|- Cave diving was the highlight of our stay and was better than what we imagined from the limited info online||The - points|- The spa was way below 5* or 4* standards - thermal area feels like a public swimming pool with cheap, unattractive materials which have aged badly with time / humidity - no « pampering » feel anywhere|- The spa was one of the main reasons for choosing the hotel and doesn’t resemble the online photos which have been carefully chosen in terms of angles and lighting (ie mood lighting in the hammam non existant - again feels like a public swimming bath facility). Spa toilet smelt strongly of urine…|- Massage costs equivalent to 5* prices - ie 130€ for 50 minutes - in a cold « hospital » feel room, with uncomfortable massage bed, unpleasant medical hospital smell in the room… |- Breakfast poor quality of food||All in all, although the great cave diving, we were disappointed to have spent 1200€ for 24h here sadly. We were staying at a Leading Hotel of the World, also 5*, in the region the nights before, and paid the same thing for a far more elevated and pleasant experience.

Gratto Giusti was an incredible oasis. This beautiful property is located on 40 acres, tucked in the corner of a quaint village. From the entering the driveway and gates, the to the lobby entrance, reception area and room everything was outstanding. The grounds and all the amenities were wonderful, feeling more as a guest of the estate and not a hotel. Thoughtful touches throughout the spaces and guest room were very appreciated. The natural spring pools and lounging areas throughout the spa were, relaxing and picturesque.

This place is amazing the location the setting the facilities it should be 5 star everyday by everyone lucky enough to visit but it seriously lets itself down. The issues are in dishonesty, poorly prepared food by cooks who don’t know what they are doing, high prices and a corporate mindset. First of all the positives this is a must visit spa but be prepared to be disappointed and for it to be your first and last visit. The negatives are almost too long to list but the staff here will look to rip you off at every opportunity. I wanted it to be a stress free experience but constant arguments with the staff of getting what I paid for just ruined it in the end I was glad to leave. In reflection because I love Italy is that you get great service and value when it’s a family company but this place owned by a corporation is a failure .

Yelp
Thermal spa is really like a lukewarm bath, not really warm enough to soak on a cold winter day as you never warm up. The entire time I was trying to hover over a hot water outlet to warm up and never did. The steam rooms have very limited capacity and there was a line to get in so not a great option either. The grotto itself is pretty cool and at the back more like a steam room. Food in the cafe is good, if overpriced, but about what you'd expect from a tourist destination. I'd only recommend this in the warmer months of spring and fall. Winter is too cold and the baths aren't warm enough to be comfortable, and in the summer would be too hot and humid to be enjoyable.

Yelp
LOVED OUR STAY. The property is beautiful. The staff is very helpful. The beds were beyond comfortable. We literally couldn't get out of them. The restaurant is also very, very good! The food was delicious and service impeccable. Its only an hour drive to Florence and about an hour to Chianti. Honestly, you need to make this a priority on your next trip to Italy because you will NOT be disappointed. Also omg the Olive Oil they grow and produce is WOWZA!

Yelp
The Antistress for Two Spa Package was worth every penny We didn't stay at the hotel, but this package is an all day event. We could arrive at 10 am and stay until 6 pm. We arrived around 4 pm, since we visited Pisa first. We got into the thermal pool, unfortunately started thundering and we had to leave. We went to the cafe next to the pool and had wine, while we waited for our scheduled time in the caves. The caves are a little small, but worth the experience. After this we were able to go back in the pool for about half an hour before our massage. I would definitely go back to this place again!

Yelp
Went there in 2011...LOVE LOVE LOVE....Im a avid spa lover and this place is just wonderful. The hubs and I were originally headed to hang out in montecatini terme, but there was some festival going on and parking was madness..so we passed...went to my trusty tripadvisor and found this jewel..as you roll through rustic looking villages...you approach this bella villa...ahhh...the mineral pools are so stress extracting, the rooms are so so lovely as well as the food in the restaurant...tip...men have to wear a suit jacket...been buggin the hubs..i want to return back.
