We almost didn't stay at this hotel because the reviews we read were confusingly mixed, but I'm so glad that we decided to stay- our stay at this hotel was utterly amazing! Our rooms were spacious and lovely, all of the staff who we encountered were welcoming and wonderful, the food at all times of day was excellent, and the thermal pools (outdoor) are so relaxing. We did avoid some of the things that I read other people complaining about- we were upgraded, so I can guess that if we'd been in the smallest rooms in the hotel, we might have felt cramped, and we skipped going to the underground grotto as it was hard to imagine it being worth 50 Euros to visit (though I kind of think I should have gone just to satisfy my curiosity). I got out and hiked on the grounds one morning, which was nice, along a few paths in the forest. It was lovely to spend time in the thermal pools each day- they were never crowded, especially the ones reserved for guests. I would come back to stay here again in a heartbeat. It's most definitely worth choosing, if you want to be in the Florence/Pisa area- it was an easy drive to both, as well as Vinci, and nearby olive oil farms and truffle hunting. I'd also like to give a special shout-out for the hamburger (served poolside or via room service)- it's one of the best I've had that I can remember.
