Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort Tuscany, Autograph Collection

Room was on the small side, we got a queen bed which was 2 twins, beds were very comfortable, pillows were a little flat because they were down feathers. Services is immaculate, you have someone that greets you right away with glass of presecco and they automatically grab your bags. The thermal grotto in the basement is what set this hotel apart and the spa amenities were the icing on the cake. All pools are heated, spa amenities include multiple saunas(cold/hot), bath and also a thermal pool. We got stone massages that ran us $160 a person, most services were $130 and up. Bar was beautiful, the bar tender was super knowledgeable and friendly. Prices weren’t listed, Drinks were $15-20 each so it was a little on the expensive side, but we ordered top shelf. We never tried the restaurant, but the town is walking distance with multiple restaurants. I absolutely loved it, it was romantic and surroundings were tranquil and stunning.

For the price this resort is not worth it. We arrived at 6pm and at 7pm everything is already closed including the pools while the sun is still high in the sky. I’ve worked at high end resorts for years and have NEVER seen a pool closed before 9-10pm. There is no beverage service, no towels near the pool (still don’t know where they are or if they are offered), the room was cramped (although pretty), bed was uncomfortable and pillows felt like thin sacks of nothing, and there is really not much to do except for spa treatments. The pool is pretty beat too with missing tiles and build up. Luckily we didn’t have our children on this trip or they would have been bored out of their minds. I don’t usually write reviews and usually I’m content with most situations but I felt this one was way below expectations. Overall I wouldn’t recommend as it is definitely not worth the price.

Very nice hotel if you have a room overlooking the premises and not the backyard to the north. First class beds (unusual in Italy) and very quiet if there are no guests in the neighboring rooms....||What we did not like: The hotel pool, although mid of May, was empty and closed only the thermal pool was open. the latter one may be nice during cold weather but is no alternative during summer time.|The restaurant at dinner serves micro-dishes with a full-size price tag, If you don't order the full 4 course menu you will go away starving; unfortunately it is not to everyone’s likening to eat pasta ahead of fish, also you might like a main course bigger than 3 bites... (The food was excellent though!)|Same restaurant at breakfast isn't much better; a very limited choice of everything and what’s gone is gone, even 90 minutes before the end nothing was replenished. No fried eggs, no omelets only scrambled eggs if you came in time...

The hotel is beautiful and the grounds stunning. Nice rooms.|I am a very keen swimmer and was so excited to use the pool daily however we hadn’t realised it is open to the public so was far from a relaxing atmosphere. It was very busy.|The spa was disappointing too and very busy. There are only 2 hours in the day 9-10 or 6-7pm when hotel only guests can use the pools and spa area.|Limited opportunity to get food too, other than in the public spa bar.

I spent my 30th birthday at Grotta Giusti Thermal Resort & Spa, and it was an absolute blast! From the moment we arrived, the staff and management went above and beyond to make sure my special day was nothing short of incredible for both me and my guests. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink of Prosecco, which set the tone for an unforgettable stay. As a birthday surprise, they even upgraded my room, making the experience even more memorable! Every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure we felt truly celebrated. The location of this resort is another highlight. Tucked away just far enough to give you the feeling of being in the Tuscan countryside or a charming small town, yet still close enough to Florence, making day trips effortless. Whether we were indulging in the spa, enjoying the incredible cuisine, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings, every moment here was pure perfection. If you’re looking for a luxurious and intimate retreat with exceptional service, Grotta Giusti Thermal Resort & Spa is the place to be. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to ring in my 30th!

Shocking experience—this hotel should be avoided at all costs. We are loyal Marriott Bonvoy members, and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had at a Marriott property. For €300+ per night, we expected quality and care—what we got was negligence, indifference, and a complete lack of accountability. A portion of the bathroom ceiling collapsed while I was standing underneath it. We were moved to a noticeably smaller room, and when we asked why, we were told the hotel was “fully booked”—despite the fact that it was visibly empty, with barely any guests on the property. We had to carry our own bags with no offer of help. Staff entered our room without permission to deliver champagne and left it sitting in ice, which melted and destroyed a brand-new leather bag. Their response? No apology. No compensation. Just excuses and denial. The food was overpriced and frankly terrible. Dietary restrictions were ignored—one of our guests was served the wrong milk despite clearly stating a lactose intolerance. They still charged us. The “Grotta” experience was underwhelming, and with the hotel so isolated, there were no alternative dining or activity options—guests are trapped into paying for low-quality, overpriced services. When we raised these serious concerns, we were met with blank stares and zero ownership. This hotel does not reflect the Marriott brand in any way. If you care about safety, quality, or even basic respect as a guest, do not stay here.

It is in a charming town in Tuscany. We just needed a one night stay to fill a gap and the intrigue of the grotto drew us. It is difficult to understand how to come through the big gate and we arrived into the wrong parking lot. The staff tried to be friendly but seemed direct and not hospitable. The shower was nice and our ungraded room with balcony was pretty but the 5 star seems overrated. The lady at the spa reception was exceptional and the bellman / porter / valet was so diligent and worked very hard! Breakfast was nice outside on the patio.
