Grotto Downtown

Very nice atmosphere for a lovely date. The food was very tasty and seasoned well. Tomato basil soup was amazing. Must try the strawberry cheesecake. Its big enough to share. Enjoyed spending my valentines date with my lady here.

On this busy afternoon filled with events in downtown, we found a spot to enjoy a meal with my son before the basketball game. From the start, the service was outstanding—thank you again for welcoming us without reservation .The place is very cozy, the food was excellent, and the happy hour prices (3-7 PM) made it even better. It’s always a good idea to call ahead, at least for this location. Our first time in Houston, and we will definitely be back next time!

A great experience! This was my first visit. The service was wonderful. The waitress was great with checking in on us and gave us some amazing recommendations. We did only get some small bites but everything came out super fast. Upscale environment with a great vibe. Loved they also have an outdoor patio seating. Would also definitely recommend the Tramonto cocktail. Very refreshing Wine selection was on point!

I recently dined at this charming, rustic yet elegant restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is cozy, although it can get a bit lively at times, which might be a bit loud for those seeking a quieter setting. That said, the service was exceptional—our waiter was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. The menu offered a great variety of options, and the food was absolutely delicious. The pizza, in particular, was expertly crafted and full of flavor, while the wine selection complemented the meal beautifully. All in all, it was a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to returning!

Atmosphere is nice, if a bit corporate feeling. Other than not being informed of the Happy Hour by our hostess when we were seated, the service was also good.

Great food and drink. A nice quiet atmosphere but they even handled a lil loudness well. Peach Bellini was AMAZING!!! Had a pizza and the meatballs appetizer. Everything was beautifully served and tasted amazing. Great service!

This is my 2nd time dining @ Grotto Downtown. I’m from out of town and like dining here when I am in the downtown area. The food is quality and delicious, the service has been great both times, the ambiance is classy but chill, and if dining alone, people-watching is quite entertaining. Wow! Hands down the key lime pie is the *best* I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It’s perfectly limey – not overly zest or tart – a marvelous tango with the condensed milk sweetness; the crust is nice and buttery; and the mango whipped cream is nice and tropical.

Wow! Love this place! The first impression is about the coolest restaurant atmosphere you've ever seen. Amazing design. Even the bathrooms were so great! But the greatness of this restaurant doesn't end there. The service and food match the atmosphere. An easy 5-stars across the board. Our party of 8 loved and savoured every bite of food. The portions weren't so large that you go home with doggy bags, but they were just perfect. I couldn't have eaten more. The menu isn't huge, but isn't that always the sign of the best food? There was enough variety that is was still a tough choice. And everything was served with total class. A joy for the senses--sight, smell, and taste. And hit the spot to satiate the appetite perfectly. We were at a conference in this very building and wandered around awhile looking for somewhere in the neighbourhood to eat and ended up coming back to the convention center to eat here. No regrets. Amazing food, service, and aura.
