Grou Coffee + Cowork - Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"Grou is a coffee shop/coworking space hybrid near Merrick Park. They serve espresso and drip coffee from the nearby Per’La and provide an assortment of tarts, pastries, and desserts sourced from local restaurants and bakeries. Grou also has an adjacent coworking space with eight private offices, but it’s only accessible for $30 an hour and it’s far from luxurious. Unless you’re desperate, work from the cafe and outdoor tables, which are comfortable enough and cost $0 an hour. Just make sure your laptop is fully charged because there aren’t many outlets to choose from." - Virginia Otazo

The service was amazing. First time coming here and will definitely be back. Francis made our flat white and my vanilla latte coffee which were both perfectly done! So tasty and no extra sugar needed. We also had their banana walnut loaf which was equally tasty. Thank you for such a delicious, after Christmas treat! PS, loving the clear, acrylic mugs❤️

I love Grou with my whole heart. Grou is the perfect place to feel at home. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious ! my favorite drink is the matcha, and when it comes to food, I honestly can’t choose because I love everything. Everyone who works at Grou is so special and always welcomes you with a smile. That’s why I come here almost every day of my life. Forever a 10/10

Google
Excellent service. Excellent avo toast. Excellent matcha latte prepared by Siu. First time here and I already love it. It’s a great spot for getting work done. Location is clean and tidy. Only suggestion is adding real plants to make it more welcoming. Natural plants enhance the vibe :) lovely place overall.

Google
I had a delightful mocha made by Marian as well as an excellently seasoned chicken empanada. The mugs are cute and one fairly certain they’re specially designed to retain heat a little longer, which made my enjoyment of the space that much better. The service was quite warm and I felt comfortable journaling without being disturbed. Highly recommend!

Google
Not only the food is excellent, the coffee is as good as it gets. I have years of experience in the restaurant business. I do recommend this place. The service was excellent, very professional and attentive. A special thanks to Daniel, who made us feel the desire to always return.

Google
Ordered the avocado toast and added a boiled egg. It was good. Liked the softer bread and the addition of the pickled onions and micro greens. The boiled egg was hard and would have preferred and expected it to be a bit more runny. The space is clean and comfortable. For drinks we got a drip and a flat white. The coffee it self was just average. My drip was not that hot but the staff was great and heated it up. If I’m in the area I might try it again but wouldn’t run there.

From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by an incredibly friendly and warm staff who genuinely make you feel at home. The atmosphere is perfect—whether you’re there to work, meet, or just relax with a great cup of coffee. The coffee is consistently excellent, and the food is always fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. You can really tell they care about quality and the overall experience they provide. This place has such a positive vibe and is easily one of my favorite spots. I recommend Grou Coffee and Cowork 100%—once you go, you’ll definitely want to come back again and again! ☕✨

Google
I discovered GROU Coffee + cowork by accident and I’m so happy I did. From fast service, to good ambiance to a 5-stars coffee, I really enjoyed my experience. The flat white was spot on. The coffee was warm enough and well balanced out for acidity and intensity. The brownie was rich and gummy, typical of a good brownie. My only issue with it was that they warmed it up without asking. I like brownies at room temp or cold. Not a big deal, I just waited until it got cold and it really tasted great. The place has great ambiance and light. It is quiet; good to even get some work done. They also have office spaces they rent by the hour. I quickly eyed them, and look pretty cool, not as modern as Wework spaces but cool enough and with a great coffee just steps away from it. That’s a bonus. I will certainly come back for coffee next time I’m in the area.

Yelp
GROU Coffee + Cowork is such a gem. The matcha is perfectly made every time; smooth, vibrant, and not too sweet. Their pastries are always fresh and delicious. You can tell they put real care into their ingredients and presentation. The space itself is beautiful, with tons of natural light, modern design, and just the right balance of cozy and productive. It's one of those rare spots that works equally well for catching up with a friend or getting focused work done. The staff is truly the best part. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and attentive, which makes you want to come back again and again. You can tell they genuinely care about the people who walk through the door. It's such a peaceful, uplifting place to spend time, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for the afternoon. Easily one of my favorite coffee shops in the area.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop to get a quick bite, coffee or come to work on your laptop. My husband and I had the coffee and shared a cookie. Staff was nice. The coffee was just ok. Not much to rave about as it was a bit bitter and not as good as other places. The cookie, unfortunately, was brick hard. Was edible but not enjoyable. I wish I had a better experience, but this place was a one timer for me.

Yelp
I have come here to study a few times. The coffee is pretty good and they have a variety of snacks and food. I got the Vietnamese iced latte, which was good but just tasted like a regular latte to me. I also got the protein brownie which was $4.50. It was yummy, but I think overpriced for the size. The place is pretty busy so may not be great to work in the front area if you don't have noise canceling headphones. The staff is super nice and the WiFi has been great. The parking lot they are affiliated with has free parking for the first two hours.

Yelp
Outrageous prices and disgusting chai. I wanted to order a piece of banana bread, but it cost $8, that's how much it cost for my chai alone. Staff are polite but not friendly. The only decent thing in this place was the decor, however, the seats are stiff and rather uncomfortable.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick breakfast and really enjoyed this local spots. This place prides itself in supporting and sourcing local items and ingredients. The cortado we had was well made and the lox bagel was very good. The bagel was perfectly toasty and had a great balanced on cream cheese and lox. Also got the avocado on the side and was perfectly lemony, which I like. The service was also great and received our food and drinks promptly.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop across the street from Merrick Park Mall in Coral gables. They had a nice selection of pastries and a great coffee menu. I'm not a huge coffee enthusiast but it definitely was a delicious stop here at Grou. Lovely Ambience, lovely service in a beautiful neighborhood. Definitely enjoyed todays visit and recommend trying this spot to all the coffee lovers in the area!

Yelp
We arrived right at closing time without realizing. The owner saw us get turned away and came outside to stop us and make sure we got a last-minute order in. It was super nice of her! We got affogato, very delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
A quick search for cafes led me here and it was such a pleasant surprise. This cafe is a good spot to take a seat and get some work done; fast WiFi, outlets available and not to much noise makes it perfect. They also have plenty of seating both inside and outside to you'll be able to grab a spot. Service wise, it's counter service so you order and they deliver your food. Everyone was very nice and my coffee / food was delivered to me super quick! Vibe wise it's very modern and simple! They have such cute glassware with great branding and the food looks delicious and is. Overall no complaints here! Will be coming back when I have a ton of work to do!
google avatar

Audrey S.

Yelp
A lovely vibe to get some work done! It's bustling and vibrant but clean and not too cramped. Free WiFi, could use a few more outlets as far as I could see but there are a couple that aren't too tough to snag. Well set up to sit and work for a while with plenty of tables and the coffee is quite good. Only complaint is that they include a service charge which brings the coffee to the expensive end. I don't understand why an order at the counter establishment has this charge, or why it's not built into the price. Though the coffee was a tiny bit on the expensive side, it wasn't excessive and it's a fair enough price to pay for a nice place to work for an afternoon!
google avatar

Ada Y.

Yelp
Great little spot, parking lot has 2 hr free parking, free WiFi, great coffee shop music, outlets, well lit, and a clean bathroom. The food menu is more breakfast oriented. Drink menu is limited but fair. There is ample table space without feeling over crowded. Drinks a bit on the slower side, but they'll bring it to your table so you don't need to focus on calling names/ numbers.
google avatar

Edda R.

Yelp
Wonderful local coffee spot. They also have a few tasty and nutritious breakfast choices and a small selection of sweets. My go-to coffee is the hot lavender latte with oat milk, fantastic every time. I've had the protein pancake and the lox bagel for breakfast and both are delicious. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. A great place to just chill out by yourself with a nice coffee drink or meet up for breakfast with a good friend. They also have free wi-fi and (as the name implies) coworking spaces in the back. A total gem.
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
Very comfortable coffee shop to bring your laptop and get some work done. The food is pretty tasty, though expensive, for the portion sizes. The coffee is great tasting and of quality.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to check out Grou Coffee + Cowork and I was so surprised by how packed Grou Coffee + Cowork was, but everyone shared the same vibe as I did--ready to enjoy a cafecito while getting some work done. It's definitely the perfect spot for that! I only got a chance to order an espresso but saw so many great options for my next visit. The menu has a wide variety of pastries, sandwiches, and delicious-looking affogatos that I neeeeed to try next time. The atmosphere is vibrant yet conducive to productivity, making it my new favorite place to work and indulge in great coffee!

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place since I saw it had a 4.8 rating on Google. Loved it! Great service and food! Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Shardae W.

Yelp
Great spot. In the heart of Coral Gables. The staff were friendly and quite helpful since I'm not a coffee drinker. I had the affogato and it was amazing. As close to Italy as I got here in Miami.
google avatar

Lauren N.

Yelp
Sooo how have I JUST seen this place!? It's off a side street walking distance from Merrick Park! The baristas were very helpful. There is a lot going on. Aside from their plentiful menu, there are also baked goods, juices, parfaits displayed. I went with my ole reliable--iced coffee with oat milk. It was great. I wanted to have a pastry, but I was starving, so I went with the Italian panini. It was crispy and stuffed with mozzarella cheese and prosciutto. It comes with a side of fig jam! I can't wait to return to try a few affogatos!
google avatar

Natalia O.

Yelp
As with most other reviews, I agree that GROU is a unique, fun co-working space where you can order delicious coffee (no comment on food as I did not order) and get some work done. However, I found it hard to get work done even with my noise cancelling headphones due to the obnoxiously loud music. I get that this is not just a co-working space- it's a cafe shop anyone can slip into to grab a bite, chat with friends, etc. But if it's going to be advertised as a place where you can co-work, then the music has to be either very low or completely off. Coffee pictured was $9.50 which I also thought was a bit excessive. I will say they offer 2 free hours of street parking which is phenomenal and greatly appreciated!

Yelp
Great local place with excellent coffee! Love the pastries. We always sit outside and people watch.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee shop in Miami. Great quality of food and service. Loved their quiche and affogato!!

Yelp
My wife, son (10), and stepson (23) stopped in for coffee after finding street parking on the perimeter of the Shops at Merrick Park, on our way to shop there. We mainly wanted coffee and the little one only wanted a bottle of water. Everything was excellent and the staff were friendly. I ordered an iced oat latte which tasted perfect, not bitter at all and I do not take sugar. My wife had a cappuccino with 2% milk and two sugars (they added for her). She said it was al punto (on point). My stepson's cold brew served black with no sugar, something he orders almost daily at other place, was strong but smooth, he said. I would definitely go back. The food -- there's a tuna bowl I saw another patron order -- looks delicious. This area is quiet and civilized. I'm from New York originally, and this is how a cafe should be and how the overall atmosphere should be.
google avatar

Samreen R.

Yelp
Been meaning to check this place out and finally got the chance! I absolutely loved the ambiance. It's great for studying with chill music and bright lighting. Around lunch time, it was busy and did get a little loud though. I loved the bar seating facing the window. The coffee is amazing and the avo toast was good too. I can't wait to try their signature drinks and desserts! There's a parking garage on the second floor of the building, so go for that first (it's cheaper). If not, there's some street parking around the construction that's going on. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Nisha P.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this is the only coffee shop near my area and it's not that impressive. The coffee is just OK and everything is very overpriced. I wish the coffee quality was better and the prices were more reasonable. I don't really come here anymore... If you're desperate for coffee or a space to work, you can consider it, but if you are a real coffee connoisseur, I definitely would recommend you look elsewhere for a good cup of Joe.

Mansi P.

Yelp
Ordered Croissant, 2 egg scrambled a hot Mocha. All were great. They serve Mocha in double layered cup which looked elegant and yet lightweight. Also ordered Cortado with regular milk which I found was bit bitter for my taste so later requested for hot milk & they gave me cute little small beaker filled with milk. Which then turned out to be a perfect Cortado. I was hesitant to try something new on the menu but our server Juan Felipe recommended me to try *Garbanzo Toast* and OMG it was soooo Refreshing! I don't like too sweet for Breakfast/Brunch and since there were dates in them I was hesitant at first but Oh mine after trying It was not at all sweet maybe just a hint of sweetness, some tanginess and poppy seeds and microgreens with toasted almonds made it delicious, protein rich and filling..! I highly recommend trying *Garbanzo Toast*.

Yelp
I came here after an appointment, I was craving a sandwich and I saw the great reviews online. I got 2 italianissimo paninis one for me and one for my friend. I got one iced matcha latte and one lavender lemonade tea. The matcha and the lavender lemonade tea were okay nothing out of this world. The paninis were very very disappointing. They weren't even toasted, it looked like they took it out of the freezer and warmed it up in the microwave. It wasn't crunchy at all and it was just warm, the cheese wasn't melted at all. On top of that, the meat they used was so strange. It had a weird smell and it tasted bad. I ended up taking it out of the sandwich since it was so bad. I tried to eat just the bread and cheese and even then it was still upsetting. The bread they use is also low quality.
google avatar

Anna F.

Yelp
Nice chill spot to get some work done while you sip on a warm beverage and enjoy a tasty snack. The space is clean and inviting with soothing tunes. It is an ideal place when you need to focus. Everyone who works here is pleasant and warm. I had the chai latte and lox bagel. Both of these hit the spot. It's so great to have this spot in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Cam E.

Yelp
I'm a big coffee shop guy, especially when it comes to getting work done. I tried GROU today for the first time after hearing about it from some friends. The place is bright, open, and clean. All of their pastries are made with health-conscious ingredients and they offer a TON of gluten-free, dairy-free, and keto options. I ordered an iced vanilla almond milk latte and a homemade cinnamon roll. Everything was good and served nicely on a small wooden tray that a team member brought over to my table. Pricing is average for an upscale café, about $7 for my latte. They have a nice co-working space in the back that can be reserved via a reservation system on their website, but there is plenty of seating in their main cafe area, too. Wifi was fast and easy to connect to. I'll definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Leodalys L.

Yelp
Nice little space well-located close to Merrick Park, with street parking options, and perfect for a little sweet, different coffee, co-work, or lunch. Attention was very nice Asier explained every coffee with good knowledge. Clean and nice experience
google avatar

Blanca M.

Yelp
Was curious to check out the vibes of this place and swung by to see what they had. In addition to classic coffee options, they serve various flavors of affogato which I have yet to try. A few tea options (chamomile, hibiscus etc) at $6. Ordered their quiche Lorraine ($10.69/slice). Not made in-house but had good flavor and was filling. Hope to try their coffees next time.
google avatar

LB L.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean and super friendly. This place is outstanding for work meetups, working and grabbing an outstanding coffee or snack. I instantly wanted to try all of the beverages. They also have a plethora of gluten free options and healthier snack choices. I wlll be back!
google avatar

Isabella K.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to places. The atmosphere is great and the food is so delicious. Some of my favorites are: - Matcha Lemonade - Lentil Empanada - Jackfruit Empanada - Lox Bagel - Avocado Toast - Quiche Lorraine
google avatar

Yisell D.

Yelp
Delicious cappuccinos, good avocado toast and prompt service. Visited on a Sunday morning and fell in love with their coffee. This is a really good place to catch up on work. There is a good selection of bites and pastries to get you through a work day They also have the cutest coffee cups!

Gabriela P.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing , and it's a great place to work! The service is great and it's always clean.
google avatar

Yelitza S.

Yelp
The service was spectacular, super nice and helpful baristas. The coffee was super good and flavorful without being overly sweet. I will say that it was $10, so definitely a once in a while coffee. Overall though- great setting, service, and atmosphere. I was able to study in peace. There's also 2 hour free parking ;)
google avatar

Sofia O.

Yelp
Okay so i came here to study and do some work on my laptop. my latte was SO GOOD! i thought this place seemed person-at-a-cafè-on-their-laptop-friendly. however, i must've picked a busy day because the place was packed and very noisy. good thing i brought my noise-cancelling headphones. my matcha latte was so good with perfect amount of froth, but it was very expensive ($10+).
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
The best chagaccino I've had in a while! Chagaccinos are my favorite coffee drinks and GROU nailed it on the perfectly blend of chaga, espresso, and almond milk. Not to mention they have so many unique & healthy pastries, bites, and spreads. Great spot in Merrick Park. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Nana C.

Yelp
Me and my partner wanted to pass by Merrick and came across this cute place in front and wow! First off, the Lox Bagel was amazing the salmon was fresh, there wasn't a crazy overpowering cream cheese taste and was super well balanced my boyfriend rated it a 9.5/10 because he wishes there was more of it. I am not a big fan of fish but this salmon was delicious. I didn't get a chance to try the tiramisu affogato myself but I hear it was also a hit! For my order, the matcha latte was good as well I ordered with oatmilk, their barista let me know they had almond milk substitute. The Matcha wasn't as sweet as I'm used too but also tasted fresh. I also had the chia seed pudding which was delicious and had to be the best chia seed pudding I've had. It had a mix of berry purée and nut better. Overall great experience and would recommend!!!!!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I'm such a fan of GROU! This is such a great spot for coffee, desserts, and more. The staff and manager are so accommodating and friendly. I've gone a few times and tried the latte, chagaccino, and ice latte- all delicious. I would definitely recommend stopping by and trying them out, you won't be disappointed. They offer co working and meeting spots for people who work remote.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Very impressed. Super clean, neat space with very friendly staff. I came to get some work done and have a coffee, they have fast wifi too. Def recommend this place, parking can be tough sometimes though.
google avatar

Jaquie M.

Yelp
What a great find! So glad to find this coffee spot near me. Staff is great! They offered my puppy a little whip cream and treat - their version of a pup cup. Perfect size for my little guy to enjoy. Their acai bowl was so good too! I loved the quinoa almond and coconut flakes for toppings. They bring it on the side so you add the amount yourself. Their Vietnamese coffee was delicious! Forgot to snap a pic ;) Came on Easter Sunday morning. Went back today but they close at 3pm. The server brought Gizmo a treat anyway! can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Sia K.

Yelp
Came here to grab a quick bite since we were close by. It was pretty good. I have the tuna toast and my husband had this sandwich I can't remember what it was called but their food was super delicious! Will have to come back for some coffee one day! The service is great they bring your food out to you table and give you reusable table wear to eat with. Overall would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Sheryl S.

Yelp
We all know coffee shops with reliable Wifi are hard to come by in Miami, so I knew I had to check this place out. I'm so glad I did! I spent a good and productive couple of hours here on my laptop. I didn't get the chance to try any of their food, but I was pleased with the vanilla oat milk latte I ordered. They had pretty steady traffic on a weekday early afternoon, but I imagine they must get really busy in the mornings and on weekends. Looking forward to coming back and trying their food!
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
stumbled upon this coffee shop by accident. The coffee was great! The whole wheat tequenos were excellent, i've tried other healthy version of tequenos elsewhere and they are not as good. The gluten free vegan banana bread was also excellent. I did not like the butcher panini, something about the aioli made it way too heavy and greasy, or maybe they just put way too much aioli on it. I would definitely come back for everything else and to try other items.
google avatar

Alexa R.

Yelp
I was very happy to discover it was absolutely adorable AND they serve matchas (a rarer find than coffee). The idea behind Grou is "a local experience" where people can meet for coffee and do work. Lots of acccomplished looking people working/studying on laptops ‍ I took a prosciutto and fig sandwich to go & it was amazing as well! The environment was quiet and peaceful, perfect to hang out or study.
google avatar

Sofia D.

Yelp
We got very nice panini sandwiches. My decaf Americano was tasteless so I asked to add extra shot, so was charged for that $1.5.
google avatar

Aisha C.

Yelp
Hello everyone! Stumbled upon this cafe while walking in Miami. I needed a lunch/snack break that was quick and light before I went upon my day. GROU coffee was that place -Was torn between the tuna sandwich and Italian panini, chose the latter. ~$14 for the Italian panini which I'll rate 3/5 stars. Wish there was an option for less meat because I ended up taking out most of my meat since it was distracting me from the other flavors. Portions could be better for the price, maybe a side to go with the sandwich? The fig spread, cheese and bread could make their own sandwich I swear this combo is so good (especially for my vegetarians) ! -affogato // $8 and was really cute to see in motion. Never have tried one before so this was my first time. I would ask for it to be a bit sweeter next time since espresso can be a bit bitter. 4/5 stars -their pastries also looked good, I wanted a light lunch so I opted for something lighter . My boyfriend got the banana bread which he loved 5/5 Employees were super nice and helpful. They definitely have something most Miami cafes do not.

Yelp
Amazing açaí bowl and espresso. Great location with plenty of parking options. Not much more to say other than a great place to kick off your morning.

Jax L.

Yelp
It was really yummy and had excellent service. The workers were extremely nice, but the lack of English language was difficult to make my order correctly.

Yelp
Very nice , vibrant place. Good energy. Freshness is pretty amazing I love their acai ball, but looking at the plates of others, everything looks pretty good
