Grouchy John’s is a fun spot with Star Wars vibes and tasty lattes. I had the White Chocolate Amaretto and the Wampa with cookie butter and dark chocolate—both were so good! The lattes are on the sweeter side, so I got them half-sweet. The back room was quiet and perfect for getting work done. I’ll be back to try more from the menu!

Great wifing/bring laptop to work or study place. And Wow! The back room is huge!! Smaller cashier room is more intimate. Unlimited refills. Nice staff. This place was suggested by a friend, tks! Possible to take zoom calls in the backroom since no one is talking here and the music is low. Their additional room is great! Lots of open seating. Game rack is filled. Maybe only 1 other person wifing/WFH/studying in this room on a Friday 9am. The 1st room with cashier and operations is almost 80% filled. That smaller room is more cozy. Snacks here like $4 mini taco burrito with eggs cheese bacon, or eggs cheese sausage. Not bad. Cute. SO got one. Premade so can't take out ingredients. Vegan cupcake. Tip: The additional large room gets cold!! Bring warm jackets and such. We definitely will be coming back!

Offbeat charming coffee spot about a 20 minute drive from the MGM Grand. They have a drive through too but we went inside. My friend got an espresso and a banana nut muffin and liked both of those . I actually got their vegan blueberry muffin and I loved the flavor of that . There were so many blueberries in it and some sugar crunch on top . Be aware they do heat that up in the microwave for a few seconds to make it a bit warm but it's really tasty . Parking lot is free . Funky interior with lots of Star Wars stuff and some couches too .

I expected Grouchy John’s to be a bit grouchy but instead I was happily greeted and well taken care of. They have a very in depth specialty menu and the drinks we got were very delicious although being a bit extra sweet the flavors were on point. The breakfast puff pastry was very good also. 10/10 would recommend when I come back in the area I will certainly revisit.

Really cool coffee shop with reasonably priced drinks. Lattes were very well made, and avocado toast was good. It's very cluttered like a comic book and star wars lover has been hoarding toys and art for a decade, but it has a cool vibe to it. Plenty of seating.

I wish we lived closer because this quickly turned into one of my favorite coffee places while visiting Vegas. If you like nerdy Star wars artwork and toys, look no further. Their coffee was an explosion of happiness in my mouth. Lots of different options for people, even non coffee drinkers. This is a really neat little place to check out and hang out for a bit. They have QR codes on the artwork so you can look at the artist which is pretty cool. We'll go back when I'm in the area again 💜

Before leaving LV, we decided to stop by this local coffee shop. They have almost 2k reviews (good review), and they were right! Coffee is pretty good.

This coffee shop is a nice place to sit and lounge at while working or conversing with friends. The only complaint I have is that they rarely have their vegan muffins available. More often than not, they are out of stock, and I'm unable to enjoy dairy-free treats. Please ensure you have a steady supply of vegan items available for those who can't/don't consume dairy!

I have been going to Grouchy John's since I was in middle school when my Dad used to take me for business meetings conveniently down the street from our house. I am a senior in high school now, and not a week has passed where I haven't visited "Grouch" at least once. Grouchy's was where I escaped to when I didn't want to be home, and it truly wasn't just the coffee and local pastries that kept me coming back. It was the way Grouchy's felt. Grouchy's has seen two first dates, 30+ friends, breakups, reconciliations, my college and middle school essays alike, and me crying way more than I'd like to admit in a Yelp review. The staff laughed with me and provided the patience that I needed in a day. The coffee is consistent, and the South Sea Magic iced tea with agave is even better. Some coffee places make you feel judged for simply existing there, maybe staying a little too long, possibly getting your coffee a little too sweet. I promise you Grouch could never judge you for who you are. The atmosphere and the people that make up Grouchy's truly encapsulate my favorite parts of Vegas. As I look back at my childhood, I see Grouchy's as an integral place--one warm and safe. Thank you, Grouch, for being my safe space, my second home, and where my first date with the love of my life was. Everyone deserves a coffee shop that changes their lives like the way Grouchy John's did mine.

I have been coming to Grouchy John's on Maryland Parkway for the last 7 years...so this review has been a long time coming. My then boyfriend, now husband, was the one who introduced me to Grouchy's...and since then, Grouchy's has been the measuring cup I have judged all my coffee experiences against. The coffee here is not only great tasting...not too bitter, but bold enough to enjoy, it is a true experience. From the Nerdy Star Wars decor, to the themed drinks, the games and community events, to even the artists that the shop supports...there is something for everyone. There are books to get lost in, comfy chairs, tables to work at...an outside area to sit when it's not too hot, and a drive thru! There is a stamp card program to let you earn free drinks, and they support students and teachers as well. If you want a bite to eat, not only are their typical pastries to choose from, but there are wraps, and my personal favorite...oatmeal. They will even mash a banana up into it for me with some peanut butter! I've never ever had a barista who didn't seem to be truly enjoying their job at Grouchy's. My only complaint, which really isn't a complaint, but an observation, is the prices have increased quite a bit. My husband and I paid $7 a piece for a medium iced latte. But prices are up everywhere...I'm willing to pay for good service and a great coffee experience. The time had come to head home from this trip to Las Vegas and I needed coffee for the road. With a name like Grouchy John's, how could I not check it out? Wish I could have stayed longer. I loved the ambiance from the moment I walked in the door! Very charming, lots of seating, lots of books, and lots of nooks. Would be a great place to do some work or to just socialize, and both were happening. The service was extremely friendly and the coffee was fast and fresh. Will definitely put this on my list again for a return trip in the future!

This place is pretty tasty. The monkey was interesting. It was good though. I don't know why every time I read banana and coffee. I always think it's a freshly blended banana, idky, like a smoothie! I think that every single time even though I know it's not, but it was good. They have a lot of drinks to choose from lotta different flavors. I really wanna go back and try some more I know they have a lot to offer. It is out-of-the-way, but it's definitely worth the drive. Looking at the menu it made me excited hahahaha because they have a lot of different drink combos. They also offer a stamp card!!!

This is a great spot for college students. I come here pretty often because they have a large space for studying and they give discounts to students. I appreciate that their drinks are more affordable compared to other places in town. I had their OG latte drink and it was SICKLY sweet and artificial tasting. And I am a person that has a sweet tooth!

Cute coffee shop. Perfect for a study date or to play a board game or two. During my visit, I ordered two dirty chais. Quickly made, fairly priced, and they even offer mil/first responders discounts. Plenty of space. We saw huge groups of people sit all around us. The barristas are sweet, the playlist is good, and the vibes are all there.

Parking - plenty Seatings inside - plenty on the side of the baristas or on the other room. There's some seatings outside as well. Quirky coffee shops where ppl meet up, study, work or just enjoy the coffee there. I enjoy the looks of the inside, its colorful. A good selection of coffee to choose from. There's a drive thru as well. They also have pastries and some deli items to order for food. There's also free WiFi, that's appreciated. We were there for a good 2 hrs enjoying our order and also working. The bald headed man provided amazing service to everyone. He offered frequent visit card, discounts to military etc. he even called other customers' order when it was ready and brought it to them. He did stop to ask us how we're doing which I appreciate. Unfortunately, we did not get that warm service when we went to order and when our order was ready. We ordered with another guy and it was dry. Nothing was offered to us. Our drinks were good though and I'm debating to come back. I'm a sucker for a good latte though.

It was my first trip here and I had a great experience. The personnel were incredibly kind and pleasant.

Grouchy John's has some tasty coffee, a large dine in area, and a drive thru. I love that they have a drive thru. I love the convenience and being able to get coffee from a local shop this way. Inside the shop they have two rooms with seating and there is plenty of it. It's spread out so you aren't right on top of each other. I came here for a meeting and it was perfect. All three visits I've had the Grouchy John Latte with white chocolate and amaretto. It's so good! Amaretto is hard to find so I'm excited they have it. They were also able to make it as a half caff for me on one visit. Their Chocolate Muffin was a hit with my toddler. The only room for improvement is that my hot coffee hasn't been very hot. It was more room temperature even as I started drinking it right away. Overall, this is a good spot for coffee whether you are grabbing it to go or want a place to hang out for a bit.

My first time here and will be back! Came here to study and try new coffee. I tried the Rushmore blended cold drink which is white chocolate and hazelnut with 2/3 sweetness. This was recommended by the cashier and I loved it, but would probably adjust it to half sweet next time. Drink rating: 5 out of 5 I tried the Nutella toast and it was yummy. Not too much or not too little Nutella with strawberries on top. Nutella toast rating: 4 out of 5 I loved that this place was perfect for studying. Plenty of parking spots and plenty of seating both inside and outside. There are couches and seats with tables for your convenience. Noise level was very minimal and not bad at all. There is interesting artwork posted all over the walls which are entertaining and a TV running if you would like to watch anything. Staff was also very friendly and they have a drive thru!

Love, the ambience. It's got a grungy and eccentric vibe. It's concept is unique for coffee houses here in Vegas. I like that it's got character all over the place. They have two separate rooms one as soon as you walk in there's one seating area and another turning right down a hallway. I got a caramel mocha latte and a cheese danish. I was thinking they were supposed to bring it to the table but they didn't. To me it wasn't clear if it's fast casual style or fast food style. Either way I got my meal sat down and was talking to a friend as we were brainstorming about a project. The staff was mostly friendly and polite. Would come back to try a different drink.

Fast and friendly drive through. The food is great and the coffee, oh yessss. We are becoming regular customers.

This place is still my favorite coffee shop to come to. Cheap drinks, great location, plenty of seating. I've noticed some of the staff has been here for many years. That should tell you they like the place too. The only bummer is happy hour drinks are now 25% off instead of 50%. Still a good deal. And can't argue with free refills. Prices have gone up slightly but that's everywhere these days.

Chill vibe with good reggae music and lots of cool collectibles as decor. Friendly Service and the flavored lemonade was pretty average. Thank you!

If you're a fan of Star Wars, throwback music, art, books and board games you're going to love this place (oh yea and coffee). Lounge out on the couch while you enjoy a latte and work on your laptop or go in the other room and paint while your friends play a board game. only came in to work for a few hours, but the vibe check is top-notch. Definitely going back

I always stop here when visiting my children and their families in Vegas. Always super friendly service and the front room is comfortable, while the large backroom is seemingly perfect for meetings. Much slower service then the last times I visited. The hot Chai Tea was a perfect brew and not over powering with chai or sweetness. The taco was super small and not flavorful for $2.50. The jalapeño bagel was bursting with jalapeño taste. Unfortunately only lightly toasted. Good coffee place to stop at!

Grouchy John's Coffee truck came to the charter school I work for and made wonderful, delicious drinks for all of the staff to enjoy. They come once a year in December. It's a nice treat. We looked at the drink menu ahead of time as some staff preordered their drinks that were unable to come down to order. Thankfully the day was beginning to warm up and the two baristas were efficient and quick. I ordered the Jedi-white chocolate with coconut topped with whipped cream. I asked for it to be blended. It was yummy and sweet. It reminded me of a Mounds candy bar in drinkable form. They make a lot of specialty coffee drinks-hot, blended or iced, Chai teas and smoothies. I've experienced Grouchy John's previously at another charter school I worked for last December. It's nice to support a local, small coffee business who can stand up to the big chains-only they do it better.

Yoda smoothie was good. It was not on the menu but was able to order it. Kale, spinach, pineapple, strawberry, mango and chose agave. Recommend this if healthier option is wanted! Service was quick but the card reader was asking for tip. Maybe this is always going to be a thing everywhere now. Chose to give $1. Always struggle if it ever asks for tip. So, smoothie was $8.40, with $1, it ended up being $9.40. Just under $10 for a drink feels pricey now.

Wife and I were looking for an afternoon coffee stop. We are always looking to try something new. Found this place via Yelp. Cool chill spot. They have two separate rooms. One room you got your coffee shop vibe. The other room is larger - tables set up for students to chill and study, a large bookcase for some random reads, and various board games to play. Wife and I got blended coffees: Jedi - white chocolate and coconut. Wife got the Rushmore - white chocolate and hazelnut. None of us wanted whip cream. Added a cinnamon muffin which staff warmed for us. Jedi - 8/10 for being tad too sweet for me. Rushmore - 8/10 wife says a bit sweet as well. Most likely the white chocolate will do that. Cinnamon muffin - 9/10 shared, filling snack before dinner Overall, we will visit again.

Great vibe, good options, and a great place to hang out. This is a new find for me on my travels and I enjoyed it immensely. The drink option vary a lot in choices which was welcome. Chose an Italian Soda with Watermelon and Strawberry flavoring. Tasty. For a snack I chose a cranberry muffin to save for later and their Peanut Butter Banana toast with granola and honey. Yummy! Really like they have food options other than the standard fare of most places that limit themselves to just muffins and a few pastries. Now let's talk decor. LOVE the sense of fun. Eclectic taste that embraces Sci-Fi. Lots of seating indoor with a variety of styles. Cozy areas and chair to chat, table to work, and tables on the side that has a lot of room for game playing. They will even provide a few board games if you did not bring your own. I'm pretty sure I will be back several more times before I leave town and when I come through again.

Grouchy John's Coffee shop is solid. I've enjoyed every coffee, smoothie and pastry I've had at this location. I make great coffee at home so when I go out for coffee, I AM that person. I ask the barista "What is your favorite?" And as long as it's not Churro coffee, I take their advice. It's a great way to get out of a coffee rut and not order the same thing for the 1,000th time! My only complaint is that I prefer drinking coffee out of a real mug and not paper cups...(3rd world problems, yeah?) Not a huge deal, it's about the experience, the getting out and experiencing something different. My only advice is that if your sensitive to dairy or those coffees that are too sweet, let your barista know and they will help you get it right. As for the Atmosphere, Grouchy John's is very cozy, welcoming all folks, stay awhile vibe with books galore, games and interesting artwork lining the walls. I have been driving past this place for 5 years and finally stopped there today. OMG I've been missing out on an amazing place!! The speciality coffee and fresh made breakfast was delicious! I will be back!!!!

I've been coming here for years and LOVE Grouchy John's. But I'm not sure I can keep coming here much longer, at least not during the school year: Every afternoon now, Monday-Friday, right around 2:30pm, a huge pack of kids comes in, buys nothing, and yells and runs around, basically turning the place into a big after-school daycare for kids who seem not to have anything better to do. I was a teenager once myself so have been trying VERY hard to resist the urge to say something like "when I was a kid, I played sports after school, then went to a job, then did homework, and didn't disrupt random adults who were hard at work." But today, after being slammed into by kids pushing each other, I guess I lost all self control, and now I am that guy. It sucks. But this is absolutely ridiculous - to let the store be taken over each day like this by kids shouting racial slurs, throwing sh*t at each other, and playing loud music on their phones. F*ck this. So, five stars under normal circumstances, but three at best right now. You have been warned.

I cannot explain the happiness this coffee shop brings me but it's a lot. By the reviews so many people love this place and it's one, if not the best coffee shop in Las Vegas :) Their butter beer iced latte is amazing and the staff is always kind and welcoming

It had been a few years since I had visited but on my recent visit to Vegas, I stopped in twice. I love the names of the different coffees and tried several flavors and all of them were delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient. There were a ton of different paintings and things to look at. Plenty of seating and a library of books to borrow.

I am mad. I am just getting over the flu and can finally taste food again, I have not had coffee for 8 days. So I work from home and a client comes over and I said, hey you wanna get some coffee, my treat and we drove over to GJ. She is lactose intolerant so no milk, no whip. She ordered a chewbacca, oatmilk and no whip and I got a butter me up of course :P So the woman at the drive thru, hands us the drinks and hers has whip and I said, I don't think that is our drink and the woman says, chewbacca oatmilk. I said right, no whip and she gives a look to me like I am a piece of crap and says, oh so you can't take it because it has whip. then she shuts the window. and then someone else brings the drink back, no whip. OK--what did I do wrong?? I wish I got her name, I should have asked but I was just ready to leave, already having spent too much time out. So I left. Train your people, there is a reason we ask for plant Milk and no whip, maybe we don't it or maybe were vegans or we cannot have it, it does not matter why and there should be no attitude given to us for our request. EDIT--ACTUALLY THE CUP SAYS CHEWY OAT NW (F) CIRCLED. SO F MADE THE DRINK

Amazing cold brew! I added vanilla and cream. The service through the drive-thru was fast and they were really nice. I will definitely be coming back.

Great staff Great drinks and food However to many unattended young kids there hanging out at times makes it quite annoying.

I was in Vegas for a convention and typically only get about 2-3 hours of sleep per night while there because the late night exit from the sessions and early morning arrivals to the facility. Coffee is most definitely a must. I saw this shop on my way to the function site after checking into my Airbnb. This did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and the coffee was sooo good. I typically just do espresso shots on ice with some cold foam and a little flavor. I had chocolate peppermint on the first day (my friend had the same) and the next day I did caramel gingerbread while she had caramel and butterscotch. I've definitely bookmarked this place for future visits as I pass through a few times a year.

Probably the best breakfast we ate while in Vegas. They offer standard coffee with free refills or you can get specialty coffees. Food was very tasty.

You honestly can NOT go wrong with Grouchy John's. They put that other place to shame. I have yet to come across a drink that I don't love but I must say the Butter Beer latte hot, iced or blended is my all time favorite. The staff is 5 star and the owner is amazing for these reasons I drive all the way across town when I want a special treat! It's unfortunate that Yelp only lets you give 5 stars because they deserve so many more!

First time trying Grouchy Johns. Not a pleasant experience at all. Customer service was condescending when ordering drive through. When we pulled up to the window the 2 females on staff were talking/mimicking (about) us and our order. If you're gonna talk bs about your customers, word of advice, at least wait till they've left the drive through LOL! TALK ABOUT GROUCHY! Also check your espresso machine, or retrain your girls working at your Maryland store on Saturday morning's 6:30am-7am cause your shots taste burnt! Sincerely, First and last time customers

I have reviewed this place before, but with the pandemic I haven't been near it. I thought I would give it try again and see how it fared these days, when I needed to meet up with someone at convenient place with access to a park, which is diagonally across the street from #GrouchyJohnsCoffee I ordered the Egg Pocket Sandwich but to eliminate the meat. The gal said that they were all pre-made. Luckily, the gentleman behind counter let her know he could take care of it. Loved loved loved that I was catered to, and they generously created my brunch egg croissant without the meat (I just don't eat any meat, other than fish) and added fresh spinach, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, with a side of hot sauce. By the way they have many cheeses to choose from... I choose the Bullet Proof Coffee, and extra cream with sugar (ok I am coffee wimp but jeez it was strong enough to grow hair on my chest... after drinking it I felt I could take on the world ) My friend ordered a PeanutButter and Banana Slices on Toast with an iced Pour-over Coffee, which he really enjoyed as well. Still great service, clean and comfortable surroundings and ample space to sit ;inside and out) to have a conversation, curl up with a book, magazine etc., play board games, or just explore all the cool itty bitty to large "STUFF" laying about for the curious that need to touch and admire.

Coffee was really good, customer service was good. Coffee shop is not that big, so can get a little crowded. Will go back if ai'm in that part of town.
