Groundworks Cafe & Lounge

This coffee shop is such a cozy little gem! The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and you can tell they put care into every cup. The staff is always friendly and make you feel right at home. Definitely one of my favorite spots to unwind and recharge.

I hosted my daughter’s birthday party here, and everything was amazing! The service and attention to detail were excellent. We weren’t rushed at all while decorating, which made the experience even better. Everything turned out perfectly!

A great cafe/lounge with ample seating, a great selection of coffees, teas, pastries, crepes, and savory foods as well as some unique flavors of froyo. I tried the beef patty, hashbrown, chocolate croissant, churro bites, iced latte, and a mix of froyo, and all of it was great. The beef patty was warmed up for me, and the croissant was fresh buttery and delicious with an ample amount of Nutella. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the overall experience was great. I definitely recommend stopping in to hang and fill up on tasty treats in a cozy but spacious environment with a relaxing atmosphere.

I ordered food from here on uber eats and the food was fine. Paid for an iced latte and definitely just got an iced coffee so that was disappointing. But what was even weirder was what they wrote on my cup (see photo)

We had wonderful time at the place. The ambiance is 100%. Food was amazing for the crepes, to the sandwiches and chicken fingers. All was fresh! Would definitely recommend you visit them. You won’t regret!

What a cute place! Service was very good friendly and big J suggested some items form the menu. We got the Nutley banana crepe. Sweet but not too bad because we ate it all. The mocha coffee was awesome. We also got a slushy strawberry mango with tapioca bobba- refreshing on Thai summer day. Definitely coming back!

It was my first time coming here and i was so disappointed I literally didn’t eat nothing and went to eat somewhere else . The food was horrible the only thing that was good it's the customer service . The chicken from the sandwich looks like it's frozen chicken and they just fried it with oil it did not looked fresh at all . My friend got empanadas and they were so oily and looked old .She also got a Bubble Tea and it taste like straight up medicine!

My new favorite cafe!! The vibe is amazing! The customer service is awesome! And the coffee is delicious! Love the inspirational messages written on the cups and beautifully placed on the walls & bathroom mirror! Great place to work, meet friends, do a Bible study or listen to worship music.

I selfishly want to keep this place a little secret, but I know it's not right to do and so I must share my thoughts and quick review so that you may enjoy it too. My go-to coffee is usually black and nothing else. Instead I opted to try their "Hot Chai latte"and a choice of oat milk, half/half and milk and other options. I went with the half/half and It was absolutely delicious. Groundwork's Cafe is just the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself with their many food and drink options. The energy and vibe is exactly what I like to surround myself in. The cafe is extremely clean all around!!!! The staff members are beyond friendly and welcoming. There's off street meter parking and town meter parking lots within a short walking distance. What I ordered: Hot chai latte Chicken Colombian empanadas A small cup of Tomato Soup I LOVED IT ALL! My NEW FAVORITE PLACE and I'm looking forward to going back.

I came across this coffee shop on the 4th of July out of pure luck since everything was closed and I am glad we stopped by! Walking in was inviting considering the decor and how comfy everything looked. Their menu had an extensive drink option and even included frozen yogurt which I was shocked by. I tried their empanada and beef patty, they did not disappoint with the flavor and how fresh they were. The service was divine as well. The girl behind the counter was sweet and offered her opinion on a few things.

Beautiful interior with a helpful person making the coffee but my iced coffee had no coffee taste at all. The coffee itself must've been weak. It was an unseasonably warm day and I left because it was really hot inside.

This place took over the old Yo Lish spot. It looks pretty much the same from before. It's bright and clean. They have a very extensive beverage menu. I had an iced cappuccino, which was good. I also ordered the chicken and waffles. This was two heated frozen tenders, served on two kinda cold frozen waffles. If you aren't going to make the food, then don't offer it. However, if you want a coffee drink or a fro-yo, sure I guess. But Kubo Cafe is literally across the street. Just saying

Here because new cafe in town! It's got an eclectic array of offerings from coffees, teas, but also crepes, bubble teas & froyo! It's so0o spacious with a lot of nice seating & these long tables along the wall. Very clean & modern chic looking. I ordered a chai latte even though it wasn't on their menu, It's unsweetened... looks like a legit chai than from typical chains' that have the concentrate from the box. Since they don't have stevia, I asked for maple syrup which she was happy to add. Music is quite loud if you wanted to chit chat with friends however. But it is a great space to hang out especially for the kids coming from school. Will check out some more of their offerings next time!

Very cute place, looks like a cozy little spot to do some work and chill. We stopped in for boba, service is a little slow, takes a minute before you're greeted (not busy, group of 3 already sat and taken care of), and the guy behind the counter didn't seem to know the menu very well, could be new, no worries. I ordered a pineapple tea, with tapioca pearls. It wasn't what I expected, but still good, nonetheless. Would go back and try something new

Lovely little coffee shop! I had a cappucino and a breakfast sandwich while I did some work - both were delicious. Very kind and attentive owner who served me with a smile. Definitely check it out!

Very upscale and classy cafe in downtown Nutley. The staff was very excited and enthusiastic about explaining the menu and showing how to use the fro yo machines. The bubble tea combos are tasty but compared to other Local Bubble tea cafes on this strip of road in town it's pretty plain. The fro yo was delicious and had interesting combinations such as coconut ube/taro. Next time I'd like to try the crepes or lattes. Would be nice to see them add a seasonal coffee flight to the menu.

So today was my first time at Groundwork's Cafe and excited to visit plus it's a new place to go in Nutley. It looks clean and a nice place to lounge and enjoy BUT and I mean BUT! As for being there for the first time there is nothing worse than to be greeted and serviced with an attitude and the care of not wanting to work there. It was a turn off! I hope this was just a one off type of moment!

Nice place, they played Christian worship music the whole time and it was very peaceful.

THEY'RE NOT OPEN LATE. It's always a gut-punch when you aim for a destination, forego other options, & roll up in front of the place, hungry & eager to spend time & money... only to find out it's closed, during the time you read it would be open, & now you have zero options. It's probably normal for new restaurants & cafes to tweak their business hours ~ very disappointing for a place claiming to be 'late-night' to be closed 1.5-to-2 hours earlier than expected on a summer weekend night. Meanwhile we'll keep heading for DQ or Chit Chat & hoping 24-hour/late-night opportunities return someday to north Jersey... ALSO, why not send an update re: business hours, to your loyalty-rewards-members ? BTW your website doesn't show any business hours. Note to self: always triple-check business hours from as many different sources as possible {shrug}.

Ordered coffee and a pastry and unfortunately, the coffee was burned and bitter and the pastry was frozen in the middle. I hope they can improve us quality issue because the service was fine.

Just had a delicious banana and Nutella crepe with the taro froyo I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! I highly recommend the spot, friendly staff, clean and beautifully decorated spot. 10/10!

Honestly... if you're looking for a great space to chat with your friends THIS IS IT! My friend stumbled upon this spot on Yelp and little did we know it was a Christian cafe! What?!! Amazing! Walked in and we heard beautiful Christian music. We were greeted by the nicest staff. The food was great! The coffee spectacular (grabbed a second one to go) haha! We had the best time talking about God in what felt like such a safe space. Highly recommend! Definitely going back.

Exactly what Nutley was in need of, a beautiful cafe with delicious small bites and a nice ambiance. Upon arriving, Liz and Jeanette were so friendly and personable they walked us through the menu and shared their recommendations to order. I'm so glad I ordered the Strawberry Mango Bubble Tea - it was delicious! This will absolutely be my new go to place to work from while enjoying their menu of small bites and tasty tea options - if you're in the area, you don't want to miss visiting this new gem!

Such a cute little cafe with an amazing staff who were so kind and welcoming. The food was amazing and delicious I got a breakfast croissant sandwich that was good and the cafe con leche did not disappoint either. Definitely coming back regularly!

I absolutely adore this place! I've been a loyal customer of the last two businesses, and this renovation is simply outstanding. It's classy, modern, and the best one yet. Thank goodness they got rid of the purple, green, and pink. The previous place looked like Barney had a wild party there. my favorite is the beef patties with the mozzarella. I stood in line with six people in front of me and everyone was asking for the beef pattiesI brought some family members from out of town, and they were blown away by all the fantastic frozen yogurt combinations, it's also nice to know that they have a few homemade flavors for the frozen yogurt. I took my date here a couple of weeks ago, and she couldn't get enough of the amazing chicken and waffles homemade maple butter, and maple syrup, on Friday night. This place really makes a fantastic first impression!

Just visited the Cafe tonight with my friend for some cappuccino. First off friendly atmosphere! Service was great as well brought our coffee right to the table. Cappuccino was great! Better than some of those name brand coffee places in the area. Then we had a Nutella crepe which was absolutely amazing! Highly highly recommend! Must try!

Chill vibes and a nice, strong iced espresso double. As far as coffee shops to just hang out at for a little bit and watch the cars go by, it's a good one.

The latte art at Groundworks is impressive! It shows that the baristas take pride in their work and pay attention to the details.
