The food was excellent. It was prepared perfectly and at the right temperature. We had the lamb chops, pork shoulder with beets pasta and fried mushrooms. We finished with a dessert of a homemade vegan ice cream sundae and a chocolate cake. We added a cappuccino and an Americano. Overall everything was wonderful and our choices we chose were the five course tasting meal, it was wonderful. Our waitress was Julie and she was amazing.

Finally visited Grove this past Tuesday. My friend and I got the Taste of Grove for $50 with an addition of the bread and butter, spicy nuts. As part of the Taste of Grove, I got the Berkshire Pork Belly and the Lamb Chop for entree and Madeline cake for dessert, and my friend got the Potato Crusted Fish and the Wagyu Brisket and Vanilla Cheesecake for dessert. We shared all the food and between all the above mentioned items my favorite was the Pork Belly. In the excitement we forgot to take a picture of the lamb chop and wagyu brisket.

PHENOMENAL. Honestly, if Michelin were in Michigan -- both Mabel Gray and Grove would have stars. Yes, I put Grove on the same playing field as Gray. The service was TOP NOTCH; I mean when the servers carry around a CRUMBER (our server Julie informed me of the name), you know they're not messing around with service. *The food is creative and delicious... I mean who thinks up Beef Carpaccio inspired by Banh Mi?! I'm still thinking about that incredibly fragrant shallot aioli. I also don't eat lamb at 99% of places and Grove's lamb chop (farro verde * green onion yogurt * date vinegar * herb salad * sumac) was INCREDIBLE. No gameyness and the flavors were so punchy and flavorful!! We also had two quintessential fall plates (aka fall on a plate) with the following. I know you, review reader, may not visit while it's fall but if this is their seasonal menu. I would be that any other seasonal dishes would be equally as stellar. * berkshire pork shoulder (carrots * almonds * couscous * pomegranate * cider jus) * squash agnolotti (ricotta. brown butter, parmesan, sage, truffled balsamic, gingersnap crumb) - the fried sage was EVERYTHING. The al dente agnolotti was beautiful. the size of these were more like ravioli in my mind as i've had smaller before but i mean the flavor was still delicious. It was also my first time trying a Murderpoint Oyster from 'Bama (who knew they raised Oysters in AL?!) and I really really enjoyed it. Super fresh, not fishiness and the cider mignonette was perfect. *The cocktails are incredible! I don't know if these rotate out, but I loved their take on the negroni as well as their take on the old fashioned. *Make sure you save room for dessert!!! *The whole vibe/decor makes you feel like you're in a big city like NYC, LA, CHI but it's right here in the mitten state. Absolutely worth a visit!!

An absolutely beautiful experience. It’s clear that they care about the details! Our server was attentive and enthusiastic, excited even for us and what we were about to experience. The food was amazing. Like “close your eyes and take a deep breath and release years of stress and tension from your body on the first bite” kind of amazing. The flavors came together in ways we had never experienced before and we just wanted to linger in that moment! Highly recommend. Especially for special occasions because this is truly a special spot.

2/25/25 Second visit, How do you find the words to explain something that I haven't already said...again Absolutely Wonderful! We were late getting there due to travel issues, but they greated us with very warm welcome (Abby remembered us from our fall visit) at no time did we feel rushed, we closed the restaurant and able to relax and truly enjoy another special dinning experience. This visit we had: Lamb chops, grilled octopus with ·eggplant purée · cara cara orange · sourdough · olives · fresno · golden beets with persimmon · brie · puffed farro · pickled apple. Endive and Panzanella salad, bread & butter with cultured butter · dukkah shaved vegetable salad · fennel · cauliflower · pickled white asparagus · asian pear · sesame buttermilk dressing. Fantastic dining experience for our first visit and absolutely not our last! Small plates, (Carpaccio, Duck confit PB&J, Lamb chops, and Panzanella salad, oh and desert....OMG!!!!!), each meticulously prepared and presented. Brilliant and daring use of herbs and spices. Finally, a chef that challenges the status quo. Abby and Alice provided outstanding service with command of the menu, describing each item as if they prepared themselves. Both are very knowledgeable and personable. After each plate, they changed the settings with fresh silverware and plates. Relaxed and very comfortable atmosphere, providing one of the finest dining experiences we have had in a very long time. Do not rush through your dinner. Take it all in and enjoy!

Came to Grove after reading countless shining reviews and recommendations online, and I can confidently say it lives up to the hype. From the second you walk in, you are in good hands. The staff clearly cares about your experience and time spent in their restaurant. We got the tasting for two, which was a very nice deal for what you get. We decided on the pork shoulder, salmon, bucatini, duck leg, and lamb chops. Each and every plate was beautifully prepared, and would gladly order them again. The tasting was complete with a bread and butter starter and dessert to finish, all in all a fantastic and very filling meal. Thank you very much to the staff, I couldn’t recommend Grove more.

Google
This was our first experience here and it was soooo good! We ordered the restaurant week menu and enjoyed every bite. Our server was correct in recommending the bread; we WOULD have regretted it if we didn't order it. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the duck was so flavorful, and the potatoes with cheddar were the best! We especially enjoyed the squash radiatori and the ice cream sundae at the end was a wonderful finish to our meal. Atmosphere is only 4 stars because the tables are too close together and does not look like there is any intimate dining available. For the price point and fine dining experience, i would prefer not to include my neighbors in my conversation. Overall, the food and drinks are worth another visit.

Google
This was honestly one of our favorite meals of all time. We had the “tasting for two” and everything was absolutely delicious. Our server Abby was so kind and helpful in recommending dishes and drinks. She made our experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxing and chill. Highly recommend everyone trying grove out!

Yelp
Fantastic place for a date night. Ambiance is upscale yet relaxed. Service was great -- both our server and their sommelier talked to us about the menus and provided an outstanding experience. My wife and I split the spiced nuts, duck confit, bucatini, and octopus, and all were delicious. For drinks, we split a couple of yummy cocktails and a couple of wines by the glass -- a red Burgundy and a Champagne, both of which were on-point recommendations by their staff. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Grand Rapids.

Yelp
I'm a huge foodie and can't believe I've never tried Grove before this moment. The vibes are romantic and cozy, upscale but not pretentious. The service was really special. Our server was attentive, spaced our courses perfectly, catered to a gluten sensitivity, and was very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. We went there as 2 couples and both did the tastings for 2 for $150 per couple which meant that we basically tried the entire menu between the bread, 10 courses, and 2 desserts. My favorite dish was the bucatini (light, lemony, and fresh pasta and a good portion size). My husband's favorite was the salmon (crispy edges and delicious dill sauce). The two dishes we would not recommend are the lamb (too small of a portion honestly) and the potato (covered in an overly salty, pasty cheese sauce). The spiced cheesecake was pretty good for dessert. The cocktails were hit and miss. Overall, we left with mixed feelings... we felt it was a great one-time experience in a cute restaurant with great service, but for the price tag none of the dishes really stood out enough to have us wanting to return soon.

Yelp
Went for restaurant week. Not making a reservation ahead of time was a mistake. This place was completely booked! We weren't able to get a reservation until later in the night and once we met our waiter and had our first meal, we understood why. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Our waiter explained each meal down to the minute details, truly a multi course tasting experience. I enjoyed everything about this place from the ambiance, to the food and the drinks. And can we talk about the swivel chairs? So comfortable! While we waited for our reservation, they also recommended we check out their sister restaurant / wine bar, Chateau Grand Rapids, where we enjoyed wine and pairings. The most perfect date night thanks to Grove!

Yelp
Weekend Recap: Me, my date, and a whole moody lighting vibe. Let me start by saying that if you're looking to level up your food game in Grand Rapids, Grove is the spot. We came for the Restaurant Week tasting menu, and wow--just wow. The tasting menu included 2 entrees and a dessert. We added some fresh-baked bread (a must) and frisée salad, because, health. I had the pork shoulder with couscous and pomegranate. Oh my goodness, I'm still dreaming of how tasty and tender the cut was. My date had the duck leg, which was so salty and boasted almost an Asian zing type feel. It paired perfectly with the Syrah we ordered. Speaking of, wine is half the experience, and Grove did not disappoint. We splurged on a bottle, and it was so beyond worth it. Big shoutout to Nick, our server with the perfect recs. And to top it all off? A tarte with white chocolate chai ganache. I was literally in heaven. If you're trying to impress, treat yourself, or just experience top-tier dining, this is where you need to be.

Yelp
Amazing! Everything was so good. The service was phenomenal! The drinks were delicious. The food was to die for!! We will definitely be back. Loved the entire experience.

Yelp
We celebrated with delicious food at Grove for my birthday! We opted for the tasting for two, which came with five courses of our choosing, plus bread and butter (not pictured- oops) and dessert. It was all divine- seriously, we couldn't get enough. We loved the pork belly, and the dessert! (Corn ice cream???? Amazing). Every cocktail we tried was amazing- the flavors were so well crafted. The service was excellent- seriously, every person we talked to was so personable. For being a more upscale place than your casual dinner, it didn't feel too stuffy. It still had laid back vibes! Grove sources their food from sustainable, family farms, and has an ever-changing menu that follows the seasons. Trust me, this is a culinary experience you don't want to miss!

Yelp
I'm so surprised I haven't written a review for Grove yet ! It was such a fun and delicious experience. My boyfriend at the time/husband were trying to find a Michelin-star restaurant in Grand Rapids, but we ended up discovering that there were no Michelin-star restaurants in that area due to logistical reasons. In any case, this restaurant still popped up when I made the search, so we made a reservation and gave it a try. Honestly, we planned to go to Grove in the middle of the week so we did not even need a reservation in May (I think we went on like a Wednesday or Thursday early dinner). They have lots of indoor seating and also really lovely outdoor seating that felt like half garden, half historic metropolitan. The servers were so friendly, and my husband and I ordered the "Tasting for Two" with bread and dessert for $150, which was totally worth the price ! As every pair of dishes were brought out (it was 3 courses with 2 dishes for each course), the server explained a bit of the ingredients and how the dish was cooked - which is not the fancy experience that we get to have often. Their bread so soo yummy, warm, and buttery. I ate the more earthy and fishy dishes while my husband had the more hearty, meaty dishes. My favorite dish out of these courses was the carrot dish. Grove was also the first place where I tried an olive oil cake that I was first skeptical about, but absolutely loved after I ate it. All this to say, it was such a memorable experience coming here and I would very much recommend this restaurant !

Yelp
I could write a book filled with all of the aspects of Grove that make it one of (if not THE) best restaurants in Grand Rapids. But I won't bore you with that, as every second you'd spend reading my review would be one fewer second that you could spend planning (and saving up for) a truly transcendent dining experience at Grove. This place is truly special, and that's because they make you feel truly special. We were welcomed in with a handwritten note congratulating my lovely girlfriend and I on our anniversary, along with complimentary champagne and a custom menu. Our server was an absolute savant - he knew absolutely everything about each and every dish, drink and desert, and had excellent recommendations as to how we should invest our hard earned money into such an elegant tasting menu experience. Every dish was mind-blowing. I would not be surprised if the chefs had little Ratatoullie rats under their hats in the back, because with each first bite of our five dishes, I felt like Anton Ego when he flashed back to his childhood eating Ratatoullie on a warm summer evening in the french countryside. The cocktails were also masterfully crafted. This place could easily moonlight as one of those boujee cocktail bars where it's so dark you need a flashlight to see the leather menu and all of the bartenders have perfect beards and look down on you for not knowing what Amaro Pazzo is - Grove could do all of that but better. And to top it all off, our server overheard my date and I debating over which desert to try, so they just went ahead and gave us both for the price of one! Like, come on. They're just bragging at this point. Grove is the bee's knees. The cat's meow. The fox's socks. The ant's pants. Unless you're ultra wealthy and experience this level of dining on a daily basis (which, if you are, why are you even on Yelp in the first place), the attention to both craft and detail that Grove commands will leave your stomach full, your pockets empty, and your mind buzzing.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to visit a couple Michelin star restaurants in Chicago and absolutely loved the tasting menu experience, high quality food, and exceptional service. I did not think that I could get such an experience in Grand Rapids. I was wrong - Grove provides an immersion into fine dining that you can't find anywhere else in the city. My date and I tried the tasting menu for 2 as part of their Valentines day promotion. It included bread, 5 main courses, and a dessert. I started off with an espresso martini. I'm not a drinker whatsoever but this was delicious. It was creamy, almost a melted ice cream mouthfeel, with a not bitter punch of coffee, finished by the liquor. The first dish to come out was the bread and butter. I was not expecting to be thinking about bread days after I ate it but here I am. The flavor was incredibly complex from all the spices and herbs. Each bite I tasted something different - sometimes sweet sometimes savory. Crunchy and flaky on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. It came with a pad of house made butter which had a nice sweetness to it. First course - beef carpaccio. This dish is thin slices of (mostly) raw beef on a bed of pickled radish and carrots, jalapenos, cilantro, with an aioli. As a fan of pickled foods, I loved this. It was bright, clean, acidic, and had a nice variety of flavors and textures. Second course - bucatini. Bucatini pasta noodles, gouda, parmesan, topped with breadcrumbs. The noodles were cooked to perfection. I had forgotten how amazing pasta is when it's done right. This was heavy, creamy, and very savory. The gouda really showed its complex flavor in this dish. The portion size was also perfect - I think if you tried to eat more than one serving of this pasta you would get flavor fatigue pretty fast. Third course - porchetta. Pork belly and sausage rolled together served over navy beans, topped with chard, fennel, and apple. This was perhaps the best pork belly I've ever tried. You can literally cut through it with ease like its soft butter. It really was the closest thing I've tried to "melt in your mouth". I didn't care much for the sausage's flavor and the beans seemed a bit bland. The toppings were pretty but didn't add much in terms of flavor or contrast. I think this dish would be perfect if they just slightly rework it. Fourth course - smoked potato. Small fried potatoes, white cheddar fondue, pickled onions and peppers, topped with chive powder. The potatoes were crispy and the pickled peppers and onions were great complimentary flavors. The white cheddar fondue was extremely heavy and flavorful which I enjoyed. I thought this was an excellent dish but it just needed a touch of finishing salt to round it out. Fifth course - lamb chops. Two lamb chops topped with blackberry and a side of mint yogurt sauce and dijon celery root slaw. The lamb was juicy, tender, and flavorful. I honestly could not tell it apart from a high-quality steak. It paired excellently with the blackberry and mint yogurt - I could still clearly taste all of the lamb's flavor with them. The celery root slaw was also excellent. It had a crunchy and refreshing texture and tasted only mildly of celery. It's very comparable to coleslaw. I think it's an excellent alternative to a side salad. Finally, the desert. We opted for the vanilla cheesecake which was vanilla shortbread cookies with cheesecake filling and black currant. I think it's a bit of a stretch to call this cheesecake but I was delicious nonetheless. The crackers were crunchy, the cheesecake filling was a bit thin (almost like whipped cream) but sweet, and the black currant was tart and tasted similar to blackberries. All the dishes were beautifully plated and had lots of thought put into them. Our server was simply incredible. They explained each dish before it was served (including all of the ingredients), what to expect, their recommendations, etc. I particularly enjoyed the bread and bucatini dishes, although everything I tried was outstanding. All in all, this was an excellent experience that was comparable to the 1 Michelin star restaurants I visited in Chicago. I know it can be a bit intimidating if you've never tried a restaurant of this sort, but I promise you it's an incredible experience and the staff knows every inch of the menu to help you out along the way. There were a few minor pain points. We went for their Valentines Day promotion which they promoted with a special menu while still offering to order off their regular menu. This was true, but only for the drinks and desserts. I was looking forward to getting to try some of the dishes off the snack menu, but no big deal. The Valentines menu was also more expensive for the tasting for two at $150 (regularly $125) which was a surprise to me when I got there. Lastly, the website is a bit confusing on what dates you can do the tasting for two. Some parts say it's Tuesday-Saturday, other parts say it's Friday-Saturday.

Yelp
Came here for an anniversary dinner. Was blown away with the service. Upscale dinner with down to earth staff who made us feel so welcome and comfortable immediately. We did a tasting menu with a few drinks. And so glad we did. The food, when I say everything was delicious, we literally scraped the plate for every dish. Special mentions, the carrot ginger purée with the fish which was so incredibly tender and the bucatini pasta which was like what you dream your gourmet Mac and cheese would taste like. Beef carpaccio was the most well balanced bite I think I had, I'll be thinking about it for a while.

Kassey T.

Yelp
We had the best experience celebrating our anniversary here! I definitely recommend making a reservation. I noted we were celebrating our anniversary, and we were greeted with a sweet little note & champagne upon arrival. We enjoyed our Taste for Two experience, which allowed us to pick 5 plates, plus bread & butter and dessert. The dishes were perfectly timed so that we had enough time to enjoy each before another was placed in front of us. Our server was very attentive and described the ingredients of each dish, as well as how it was cooked. There is limited seating outside, but luckily we were able to snag the last table outside to enjoy the weather, however, inside is beautifully decorated and would have been just as pleasant. Since their menu is seasonal, I look forward to visiting again to enjoy something new!

Yelp
We always have a great time when we go to Grove - the food is well priced, the ambiance is small and intimate, and the service is top notch. It's the perfect place to go to on date night - not too expensive, but the quality of the food is amazing! Took my husband here for his birthday, and we each decided to do the Taste of Grove, where we were able to pick 3 dishes for $50 (6 dishes, $100 total for the both of us). This is a great deal, because the portion sizes remain the same, and we were able to pick anything from the menu. We decided to go with the Bread & Butter, Crudo, Cacio e Pepe, Beef Tartare, Grilled Octopus, Potato Crusted Fish, and the Wagyu New York Strip. I believe there was an upcharge for the Wagyu New York Strip, but it was well worth it! Our favorites of the night were the Bread and Butter (the bread was soft & fluffy, and was lightly salted), the Crudo (we never say no to raw tuna), and the Potato Crusted Fish (the puree paired perfectly with the fish, and the fish was soft and flaky). The drinks are always on point here and beautifully crafted. Pre-Covid Grove and Post-Covid Grove have remained the same - great service and great food.

Elyssa O.

Yelp
On a dark fall night with a chilly breeze, sharing a meal with friends in a cozy restaurant with a warm ambience was the perfect way to spend the evening. It was lively and bustling with music playing in the background. The cocktails and mocktails were enjoyable and refreshing. The food was tasty and satisfying, characterized by flavorful and unique sauces. The chocolate gelato was the best I've ever had--it was vegan, but you couldn't tell. I would absolutely get the squash radiatori again. The staff was attentive and communicative. All in all a wonderful experience.

Stacy J.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and ambience. Will always be in our top favorite places in Grand Rapids.

Rusty J.

Yelp
We have been here multiple times since the Grove first opened and have never been disappointed. The food, service, and ambiance is second to none and by far one of the very best in Grand Rapids. Our server, John, was phenomenal and his knowledge/description of each course was exceptional. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Adrianna H.

Yelp
What an incredible birthday dinner for my husband! We did the tasting menu for 2 and can't recommend Grove enough! Service was the best we have had in GR, food and drinks were all perfect! Put this on your list to try soon!

Stacy F.

Yelp
Wowwwwww this was literally my favorite meal in my entire life. I can't begin to describe the level of expertise in this establishment. The menu is whimsical yet hearty and filling, and so so delicious. We live in Texas but wanted to pop in and check this place out. We travel to MI every year and this place will absolutely be a mainstay on our trip. The Bartender was attentive and gave excellent recommendations. I told him I was a bit picky on my cocktails but was interested in a specific drink. HE MADE ME A MINI SAMPLE TO TRY. unfortunately it wasn't my style but it was met with only smiles. Truly one of a kind experience, next time we will absolutely be back to taste the menu and have plenty more drinks. Five stars from the host to bartender to the back. Yall rock

Yelp
The Grove is a hidden gem here in Grand Rapids! We came here back in December for a friend's birthday, and every part of the meal and the ambiance of the restaurant was so thoughtful and special! The 5 of us did the "Grove Experience," which turned out to be more than enough food for all of us and gave us a beautiful sampler of everything Grove had to offer. Our server was great and explained every course of the meal!

Kurt G.

Yelp
Love the New Grove. Went back to check it out and it is better. Service was professional, they worked well as a team, and the food was served with perfect timing. Love the new vibe, the atmosphere was warm and cozy. We did the "Grove for two". Love the Waygu hanger steak, and the all the side dishes, delectable and added to the experience. Don't for get to get the dessert. Will be going back.

Nate S.

Yelp
We planned our dinner for our 16th Anniversary trip in GR not knowing anything about Grove. My, oh my. There is 1-2 gems in each town we visit and this was definitely Grand Rapids gem. Culinary art, along with wonderfully matched service was what we were met with at Grove. Although it got pricey due to our Dining for two option which included bread, 5 menu options of our choice, and a dessert, it was mainly on us for opting for the Ribeye upcharge, which we didn't regret! A definitively upscale restaraunt, one expects to pay $40-70 per head and even more with a few drinks. Will definitely sing its praises and also venture here again as our entire experience was well worth the trip! Try it out for a special occasion on just for a fun evening out!!!

Katy C.

Yelp
It's official, Grove is my favorite restaurant in Grand Rapids right now. I really hope they continue to create innovative, accessible, delicious dishes like we had recently. Nate and I went specifically for the Grove tasting for two, which is $125 per couple and gets you their delicious bread, your choice of five dishes, and dessert. It's an incredible value and the only stipulation is that you can't get five of one dish. Our server Abby was knowledgeable and hilarious, and made our evening fun and relaxed. We ordered the crudo, cauliflower, octopus, beef tartare, wagyu hanger, and the butter mochi cake. Abby was great with spacing out the courses so we didn't feel rushed, which was one of my only issues at our last visit. The bread is light and flaky, buttery, and delicious. Hold onto a piece or two to soak up the sauce from the crudo - a great suggestion from Abby. The crudo itself was fresh and light, with a bit of heat from chili oil. We loved the brown butter hollandaise with the cauliflower. Citrus was present across many of the dishes, which gave a brightness and kept things light. The octopus had a crunchy quinoa that I loved! It added great texture. I found the octopus a bit more firm than I was expecting - not overcooked or rubbery but definitely had a bite. We loved the creme fraiche of this dish. The beef tartare was good. We added the shaved truffle for an extra $25 because why not? I probably wouldn't do that again, honestly. I don't think it added that much to the dish. The seeded crackers that accompany the tartare were delicious, but a little overpowering as the tartare was quite delicately flavored. The wagyu hanger was transcendent. I'm still thinking about it and want to go back and get it just for me so I don't have to share. The steak was super tender and so flavorful. It was perfectly rare and I could cut it with a butter knife. I honestly saved a piece of it for after dessert because I wanted to end with the best bite of the evening. Yeah it was that good. Dessert was a tough call but we picked the butter mochi cake, which was delicious. The texture of the cake was springy and bouncy. There was a bit of a bitter element from the marmalade, but the sweetness was balanced. I'd love to go back to Grove again soon and get the Grove experience, which is $325 for everything on the menu. Abby said she's seen two people attempt it but it's best if you have a group of friends to share. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Grove. It's a wonderful spot putting out some unique and interesting dishes without being too over the top. It feels comfortable and welcoming, and I'm so glad that it's here in our city.

Pamela D.

Yelp
We have walked past Grove many times, visited once several years ago, and finally decided to return during a long weekend in SW Michigan. In a word, it was fantastic. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so we're glad we made reservations. We were seated in one of the few booths, which felt private. Our server was amiable and on the spot. We liked how she (along with the food runners) described each dish as they brought them to our table. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all delicious, but my husband & I agree the bucatini stood out over the rest. All of the dishes were attractively presented. They also have an impressive drink menu. Prices seemed on par with other fine dining establishments. Grove far exceeded our expectations, and we are already planning a return visit!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
So I have to say, I was really hesitant to go to Grove again after my initial experience with them post-Covid. The first time was really expensive, small portion sizes, and a bit limited from a menu standpoint.. HOWEVER. I have to say that I think Grove is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Grand Rapids right now. I really can't wait to see how their menu adjusts with the seasons and continue with being super creative on trying new and unique dishes. You can make reservations online - they do have a deposit per person to eliminate the risk of no shows or last minute cancellations What really sold me is Katy C. posting pictures of the food and mentioning that there is something called the "Grove Tasting for Two" for $125 per couple. It gives you their bread, choice of any individual 5 items (no repeats, no limitations), and a dessert. It is an INSANE value for the quality and amount of food that you get. We ordered 5 items with the tasting for two, then one additional, which ended up being plenty of food for 3 people to share and taste everything. My favorite, hands down, was the Wagyu Hanger - given the cost and the taste, I would order this every time, even if there is something else on the menu. Everything we ordered was amazing. My least favorite (not due to the restaurant, but more because of taste) was caviar. I think it's a bit lost on me, so I wouldn't order this one again. If you're hesitating to go to the restaurants due to cost, I'd recommend going back and trying it again!

Yelp
If you're looking for elevated dinning, this is the place for you. The menu you is small but each plate is thoughtfully composed. I was blown away by the potatoes with a Smokey cheese sauce and the spiced sweet potato cake came with candies cranberries that added an acidic element, rounding out the meal. Make sure to get a reservation before you head over - it was packed when I arrived at 6!

Yelp
Welcome back Grove! Atmosphere, service, newly renovated brought in light and a new vibe. Loved the service, the menu, and with a 3 year old they did really well.

Yelp
Grove is our favorite restaurant in Grand Rapids. The attention to detail is amazing. The service is wonderful. The food is better than any other place in Grand Rapids. In the summer my favorite dish is the heirloom tomatoes, but we also love the crudo, the octopus, and the steak tartare. We try to go every couple of months--I love how the dishes change with the seasons. In the past we would each order the taste of grove, get six different plates to share, and most of the time order one dessert at the end. When we went last week the taste of grove had changed to two items and one dessert per person. The Tasting for Two was available though--previously it had only been available on the weekends. It worked for us, but I don't love that it locks us into bread as one of our choices. We'll still be back, but I'd love to get the old Taste of Grove option back.

Yelp
Exquisite food and service. My friend and I ordered the 5 plate tasting menu and every single thing was out of this world. The flavors exploded in my mouth and it was just a small enough taste to not get you full but big enough to satisfy the taste and craving. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and is suitable for medium sized parties. I wish I had taken pictures but it was so delicious I didn't. Amazing place to have a quiet date night or catch up with an old friend.

Yelp
Hosted wine dinner was AMAZING!!! Service was spectacular, our waiter was friendly, funny & super helpful with our questions. The food was delicious and paired very well with each selected wine. Will be going back to try their regular menu. We loved the cocktail offerings.

Yelp
Grove's food is creative, delicious, and wonderfully sized. Grove's staff is long-tenured, skilled, thoughtful, and friendly. Grove's small porch is unbeatable, the Cherry Street foot traffic is lively, and the indoor vibe is modern, tasteful, comfortable, and quiet. Grove's manager (Roxanne) is the best in this role we've ever experienced. Friendly, kindly, funny, helpful, personal. We look forward to every visit.

Yelp
Decided to return to the "New" Grove after they reopened with a new food philosophy but remaining locally sourced. We missed the old "butterscotch" pudding, but everything else was superb. The lead server, Julie, led a team of a high quality support staff that excelled. The atmosphere was warn and intimate. The Wagyu hanger steak was a winner. We added bucatini amatriciana, and panzanella salads, as a part of the "Grove" experience.

Yelp
Wow this place blew me away. The service, the food, the cocktails, the ambiance - 12/10. We did a tasting menu and it's hard to even pick a favorite dish. Everything was cooked and balanced perfectly. I loved the roasted peppers and potato crusted fish. I also got a gin cocktail with a Sauvignon blanc syrup in it and I still dream about it. For how subpar the food is in Grand Rapids collectively, this one feels like it belongs in Chicago/ Detroit. Check this place out!

Yelp
I was so happy and excited to hear that Grove was reopening! A friend and I quickly mad reservations to check it out, as we were both very excited. We made reservations on their website. They do require a $10 deposit per person for reservations. If you cancel within the timeframe or show up for your reservation, you are refunded the deposit. I LOVE the renovation that they have done on the inside. It is so beautiful, very open, modern, and just stunning. The cocktail menu is small but they are able to make just about anything. Their cocktails are beautiful, unique, and delicious. I started with the Mr. Green Genes and it was so refreshing and well balanced. I had them make me a mezcal margarita and they did a fantastic job - great flavor and very fresh. I also tried a chardonnay - the Uni chard was SO good. To start we had the mushrooms and the cucumbers. They were both outstanding. So very pretty and well plated but also delicious. All the flavors were so complimentary and so very well thought out. I was happy with the portion size of these dishes, too. Enough for two of us to have two helpings of each. We both ordered the Hamachi collar and it was fantastic. Cooked perfection - medium. The fish had a wonderful light flavor and the seasoning was outstanding. I will say that this is not a huge dish and it is on the lighter side - it was perfect for me after two appetizers. I think this dish would be a nice shared plate, too! All in all our experience at the new and improved Grove was topnotch! I am so happy to have them back and look forward to many more visits! Cheers!

Yelp
Alright folks, listen up! At Grove, they take their food seriously. Like, really seriously. They're all about the craft of cooking, and let me tell you, they've got it down to an art form. They carefully curate their menu to make your taste buds go wild. Seriously, prepare to have your senses captivated. Now, here's the deal. Grove isn't just about slapping together any old ingredients. No, sir. They source their ingredients from family farms and sustainable providers who have some pretty amazing stories to share. They're all about supporting local and following the Midwest farming seasons to bring you the absolute freshest cuisine. Farm-to-table? Yeah, they practically invented it. And let me tell you, every visit to Grove is like embarking on a culinary adventure. They'll guide you through an outstanding experience that'll have you coming back for more. It's like they've got some secret powers or something. Maybe it's the flavors they infuse into their dishes, maybe it's the way they plate them like works of art. Who knows? All I know is, you're in for a treat. So, grab your appetite and get ready to indulge in some seriously delicious food at Grove. Trust me, it's an experience worth having. And hey, isn't life all about creating those memorable moments? Well, Grove will definitely give you plenty of those. Bon appétit, my friends!

Yelp
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner here last night for a 7:15pm reservation. It was our first time trying Grove, and it didn't disappoint! We were seated promptly, and our server took our drink order and they came out pretty quickly for such a busy night. Both of our drinks were great; I had one of their versions of a mocktail, and my partner had the "Knives Out" cocktail. For our food, we picked several items to share: bread, mushrooms, duck leg, and potato crusted fish. All the food was stunning and cooked to perfection. It was probably the most flavorful, inventive food we've ever had. I would recommend everything we tried, but especially the duck leg, it was perfection. In total we spent around $120 excluding tip, so I think next time we will try the grove tasting for two because it is basically the same price for more things to try. This is a great restaurant for any special occasion, and it's perfect for a dinner for two. We can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Great food and top notch service! One of our favorites in GR! Every dish is beautifully executed and thoroughly described.

Yelp
We returned to grove for my husband's birthday this year. The menu was completely different, which we love. I think this iteration of the menu was even better than the last. This may very well be the best meal we've ever eaten in Grand Rapids. We had the scallop crudo to star and oh my goodness! What an awesome flavor in every bite. This was my husband's favorite! We had the tartare and pork belly rib chop (both not pictured) and both were unbelievable. We had both of these dishes last time and liked them better this time. I loved the subtle flavor of horseradish and cheese, no overpowering Mayo this time! The maple and grapes with the pork was delicious. They have a menu option of dinner for 2 for $125. It comes with bread and dessert and your choice of 5 dishes. We decided to take advantage of this and try the wagyu ribeye. MUST GET. It was cooked to perfection and so tender. We also had the potatoes and both agree it's probably the best potato dish we've ever had. Very rich sauce but delicious. Our waiter recommended the lamb and duck dishes so we added them on at the end. The duck pie was so fabulous, the lamb was just ok compared to the rest of the food we had. We love the creativity of the food here and everything is always surprising and cooked to perfection. We are looking forward to trying each of their seasonal menus. This place is a must!

Yelp
We went to grove for Valentines day and got "The Grove Experience". This includes every item on the menu. We were unfortunately disappointed with several items we received. I would say no items on the menu had a "WOW" factor that we were anticipating. I would suggest saving your money and not getting the full experience and simply just trying items on the menu that sound good. The service and ambiance was average compared to our expectations and the raving reviews we've heard.

Yelp
Amazing! The taste for two was a really enjoyable experience. The carpaccio... unique and so many flavors. Each dish was unique and worth the value. Abby, our server, made the experience special. We will be back.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant screams "quintessential Pookie!" They represent such a vibe that I think a lot of restaurants need to catch up to, as well as the fact of services is to die for. Everything about this restaurant represents fine dining and I hope others understand it. Their food is immaculate. Their menu has everything that you could imagine. They're cocktails represent a vision that I think a lot of people aren't ready for as long as you have a awesome tastebuds you will succeed and have a wonderful time at Grove.

Yelp
Passing thru Grand Rapids, and decided Grove sounded the best, for my birthday dinner. The waiter was amazing - very descriptive of each dish and the ingredients. Now if I could get the recipe for the mushroom dish. If I were to return to Grand Rapids, I would stop at Grove for a nice meal.

Yelp
Where to start? I found this restaurant by chance and was immediately impressed by its thoughtfully curated menu. From start to finish, our experience, our food, the impeccable service and the wonderful atmosphere wowed us. We selected so many deliciously prepared and presented plates including the crudo, mushrooms, tomatoes, beef tartare, octopus and pork belly chop - seriously some of the best food I've experienced in Grand Rapids - ever!!!! We can't wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Vive is nice, when we went there was a decent crowd there so felt very lively. The menu is based on shareable plates, we got the fish, bread and potatoes. The bread is amazing, sort of has a croissant taste/texture. The potatoes are fine if they were less cheesy and salty. The fish was tasty but also a little too salty. We also got dessert which was good. Work enthusiastically say you have to try it out but it's worth going and experiencing.

Yelp
Great service. Quiet environment with great crowd. Delicious food. Not the place for large portions. This is more about good quality portions.

Yelp
Newly opened/renovated beginning of summer 2022, it's an upscale spot that's perfect for a date night or an intimate celebration venue. Service is excellent. The menu is very unique and quite small. They source local ingredients and regenerate items based off the season. They specialize in small share plates and most items are small but extremely thoughtful in design and flavors. This is a place where you will be impressed by the taste and presentation but might leave feeling like you need a snack afterwards. The meat menu items were my favorite... especially the beef. I also REALLY loved the warm/fresh bread. They have a great wine/cocktail menu as well. The atmosphere is the best part. With it's redesign, the space is cleaner and more open. The air is lighter and we loved sitting on the patio on the perfect summer evening which sets alongside Cherry Street in the East Hills Neighborhood. We did find it odd, however, that we had to pay $10 for a reservation? More so, it felt off that the space was only half full patrons on a Friday night at prime dinner time. I hope this isn't a regular thing... it would be great if we had Grove as another consistent option for an upscale dinner option in our city.

Yelp
Visiting family in GR and they made reservations at The Grove. What a pleasant surprise. Atmosphere is lovely, everyone who served our table was so knowledgeable and friendly. They took extra care to make adjustments for food allergies at our table. The food was a performance.... beautiful, creative, and delicious. If you are looking for a dining experience, not just a meal, I totally recommend The Grove!

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were bang on! Every course was unique and delicious. We did the dinner for two and ordered some additional courses which we shared among our party of four. One of the best tasting menus I've ever had. This restaurant would have a Michelin star if it was located in a larger city. Looking forward to coming here again the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Outstanding food, seriously some of the best farm to table we have ever had! Honestly everything on this menu is exceptional. James did a phenomenal job of listening to our preferences and pairing wines with exceptional knowledge and experience. James made our anniversary extra special and we highly highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Grove, in the past, was my absolute favorite restaurant in GR. They have remodeled the space and rebranded the dining experience with a modern, food focused menu and a bright and airy space. Although the restaurant is visually pleasing, I am sorry to write that we had a disappointing experience here last night. I made a reservation for an early dinner at Grove with family. The reservations require a $10 deposit per person to ensure your attendance. The deposit is refunded at the conclusion of your evening. While I believe in this system, there is something pretentious about that whole process that rubs me the wrong way. Just a personal observation. Our waitress, Katie, was delightful! She was friendly, efficient and even went out of her way to secure a special chocolate milk for the kiddo in our group. I enjoyed the "I'm a basic spritz" and thought the garnishes were beautiful! Another note is that Grove has a much more minimalist bar style and the liquor selection is limited. They have seemingly moved away from name brand spirits and offer a more locally sourced, special selection. I prefer Ketel one or Grey Goose vodka, but upon their unavailability, I went with Ocean vodka, which was a reasonable substitute. The espresso martini I ended with was delicious although slightly smaller than a typical martini. We ordered the bread to begin our meal with. After googling "dukkah" I realized it was a mixture of seeds and spices. The bread was flakey, and had almost a croissant texture. I didn't mind the seeds and flavor, but it was certainly more interesting than typical bread. Katie explained that Grove recommends 1-2 plates per person, and that they are meant to be enjoyed as "family style tapas". Here's what we ordered: Asparagus: beautiful presentation, this dish is bright, lemony, and fresh. I enjoyed the addition of English peas and parmesan cheese. This is served as a cold dish, which I didn't mind at all. Cauliflower: I was deceived by the temperature of this dish. The cauliflower was cold but had dark sear marks from being cooked. The grapefruit was an interesting complement and I enjoyed the mild creamy sauce and crunchy chickpeas. Avocado: this had a curious presentation. Avocado was dusted (covered) with tomato powder and toast pieces were served on the side. Wagyu: only one wagyu was ordered, as our other guest wasn't able to request temperature. This struck me as pretentious; recognizing that the chef may believe the dish to be compromised when cooked "medium well" is understandable, and should be noted. However I still think that for a $95 price tag, the customers requests should be addressed. Our table did enjoy the wagyu, and I particularly enjoyed the beautiful garlic hasselback potato that was served with the meat. I thought the presentation was lacking for this dish. Ice Cream: pistachio and chocolate ice cream rounded out the evening for us, it was good but nothing remarkable. Chocolate Dessert: unfortunately the name of this dish escaped my memory. This has a beautiful presentation and the fruity accompaniments balanced the rich and decadent chocolate torte perfectly. In summary, I'm disheartened to say I miss the old Grove. The restaurant was certainly unique, and some of the food was very interesting and beautiful. However, we left only partially satisfied and slightly confused. The attempts at modern food might be more suited in a different, trendier city. I missed the amazing cacio e pepe and other more simple yet elegant dishes that grove previously served. This restaurant was far from kid friendly. I would not recommend bringing children to this establishment as there is no kids menu whatsoever. Although the service was immaculate and the drinks and atmosphere were enjoyable, the food somewhat missed the mark for us. I wish Grove success and hope that some changes are made to broaden the like-ability of this newly rebranded restaurant.
