Everyone should experience and support this incredible project. They grow all the food they serve themselves. The building is a marvel itself offering unique architecture and a relaxing peaceful ambiance. Definitely a must on anyone’s exploration list.

Really cool farm in city park with a focus on engaging city youth. Beautiful grounds and open to the public.

This form is a beautiful location in an urban setting. I love that it is situated on the city park grounds. Also that it provides classes for adults and kids as well to learn about gardening and Natural Health Options. This is a great resource for the entire city and I would love to see it expanded

I went to a wedding at Grow Dat Youth Farm. The venue was beautiful. I loved the casual feel. I have only one complaint... The composting toilets. They were quite stinky. Luckily the group had some portable toilets that smelled way fresher.

I accompanied my cousin on a field trip to the Grow Dat Youth Farm and it was beautiful, inspirational, and educational. We learned so much in an hour. It taught the children so much, in terms that they understand and engages all of there senses. The Children never were bored and couldn't stop talking about what they learned. They supply to the local farmers market and have plenty of loving and caring staff to assure the safety of the plants and the children. If you want to teach your children or want to learn a little bit more about farming or the food that you are ingesting then go ASK!

Who knew there was an organic farm in NOLA? I attended a wedding here and it was awesome. The food was amazing. Check it out. So much possibility on a little plot of land.

Yelp
Grow Dat's annual fundraiser is the Hootenanny! It's such a fun party! Dishes by lots of awesome local restaurants including Bacchanal, Bywater Bakery, Maypop, Sylvain and more!!! Everything that we tried was amazing! Of course my favorite thing was the Chantilly cake by Bywater-it's hard to beat! Great music by Hot 8 Brass Band and Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys! They even had dance lessons! The Grow Dat community of students and leaders have an infectious enthusiasm about what they are doing and I was thrilled to be at the event and to help with their fundraising efforts!!

Yelp
This farm has a special place in my heart because as a graduate student at Tulane, I got to work on the design and build of this site. This may be a conflict of interest to write a glowing review of this place because I have such a personal connection. But it still warms my heart to see this farm grow and develop - the kids it helps and the land itself. Johanna started this farm with a vision that this would help the youth of New Orleans, and the growth it has seen is amazing. The kids learn about healthy eating, and how to cook it too! I go back every six months to a year to see the changes, and am proud of the progress this program has made. The ground was still being prepped for growing when I first worked on this project. Now the produce is seen at select farmers markets around town, and at their weekly produce stand onsite!

Yelp
This really is a great group. My husband worked with them as part of one of his Tulane Medical School rotations and I fell in love. We went to several events on location and tried the amazing food that the kids grew as cooked by local "celebrity" chefs. On Saturday mornings my husband would go over to the farm to help out with market day and he would always buy a few items to bring home for me to cook with. They were always high quality and of course delicious. This past June we were lucky enough to join Grow Dat on their annual camping trip. It was the first time camping for my two boys and while we weren't able to spend too much time with them, the kids of the Grow Dat Youth Farm seemed to enjoy this well deserved trip too! I hope this continues on for many years, as Grow Dat is clearly beneficial to the citizens of New Orleans and most importantly, to the teens they employ and educate as well.
