God BLESS this wonderful charity group of people who help provide small raised-bed gardens to low-income families in the Thurston County and the areas surrounding Olympia, WA. They provide up to 3 4-foot by 8-foot raised garden beds with fertilized soil, plus some starter plants, seeds, and offerings of planting guides, books, and so on. They also have workshops and seasonal planning sessions to help get maximum benefits out of your garden. They do ALL this from donations only and ask nothing more than that those that receive pass it on to others when they are able to do so. They also include mentoring at-risk high school students by providing them opportunities to learn about benefits of sharing, hard work, and caring about others in helping make these gardens a reality. These kids have a chance to make a difference and it makes a difference in them! Wonderful, Caring, Helpful. Love Them!!!

A gift from the elders, an inspiration for all; GRuB accepts the h.s. students spat out by institutionalism as well as those who have it made... inspires positivity... educates all who are open to "a more perfect union" introduces new method &tried and true options for growth. Or u can walk the acreage and get grounded. Welcome!

This place makes you feel included as soon as you arrive. This is a place that attracts (or brings out) the best, most giving of spirits. It empowers people, provides food, and makes sure that you feel like you're in a safe space.

Google
Fantastic place for fresh fruit and vegetables. Also they have a great program for young high school students to get a chance to work in the community getting experience in a safe work place.

Yelp
This is a nonprofit located in West Olympia. They've been fundraising through the pandemic to keep some of their programs going. Recently I've been seeing GRuB volunteers in my neighborhood building free victory gardens for low income neighbors. The victory gardens are raised beds that include soil and plants provided by GRuB and paid with community donations. I was talking to some of the volunteers in passing. It turns out that each garden is 'worth' $1,000 if you're including materials, labor, and gas to transport. I'm very impressed with how many neighbors they've been able to help.

Yelp
Completely in agreement with the other reviews. Grub is an excellent asset to the community. I have now been there four times for classes, both cooking and educational. The kitchen is well equipped and well labeled. There is a five burner cooktop in the center island which is ample enough to handle most cooking tasks. It is a multi-use facility that provides space for classes for the local schools and outdoor programs dealing with gardening. It something can be grown in this climate someone at Grub can give you pointers on how to best grow it. They have programs for veterans, school kids and home gardeners, as well as programs where a home gardener can get a raised bed for a reduced price, and in some cases for free. There are programs dealing with local, native plants as well as other types of gardening, composting and most anything to deal with pest control and how to utilize your harvest. Grub is community focused and you know it after spending a very short period of time there. Grub is the kind of asset that any community would be proud to have.

Yelp
Amazing programs that teach low income youth job and life skills, and that bring the ability to grow their own food to low income families. They run a produce stand in the growing season, and the youth learn how to sell the produce they have grown. They also have a CSA (Community Support Agriculture) that you can "subscribe" to, and get a box of healthy, yummy veggies and support low income youth at the same time! Or you can subscribe to get bouquets of beautiful flowers each week (again during the growing season). I know alot about various community programs, and by far GRUB is one of the best I have ever seen as far as their impact.
