Worth the wait! Food is all fantastic and brought out FAST! Great servers! Never had bad service! Try the fresh squeezed orange juice!

Just amazing. Chelsea, our server, was fantastic! So kind and brought everything we needed. I’m convinced she is a wizard. The food was outstanding! Please eat here, do it for your tastebuds 😋

I stopped by this location today because I always heard how great the food was by former coworkers and the crew. It was very busy, but I was able to find a parking spot. Considering it was busy, we waited less than 10 mins. Service was friendly, Brad was very busy, but was attentive. My friend enjoyed their plate of scrambled eggs, corn beef hash, and homefries w a lemonade. I, however, wasn't impressed. I ordered the veggie breakfast wrap w homefries because I wasn't very hungry and an OJ. I loved the mug the OJ came in, very cool. Homefries were very delicious. The potatoes were a good bite size and cooked to where I like them, little crispy and burnt. The seasoning the cook used really brought out the flavor of a good ole fashion home fry. I took a few bites of the wrap and started looking for the hot sauce. I think it was because the mushrooms over dominated the wraps other ingredients, making the scrambled egg taste bland with no distinct flavor other than mushroom. I brought the rest of my homefries home to share w hubby as I knew he would like them and the wrap I brought home so that I could pull the ingredients out of the original wrap. I will add some flavorful seasoning, use a stronger cheese, and then place it into a new wrap. I will be back to try something else, like maybe the Benedict, and hopefully, I won't be disappointed again. Overall portions are good, and the wrap was hot. The homefries were not. But that's OK. I ate them anyway. Prices were reasonable.

I must say... Grumpy's Restaurant is awesome!! My server Skyler is the friendliest, most courteous, helpful, and very attentive person I have ever had the privilege of being her patron. I highly recommend this location in Orange Park FL (Kingsley Ave.). I also recommend visiting the location in Yulee FL off of SR 200. I enjoyed a new version of an omelet (cheese burger omelet) burger, cheese, onions, tomatoes, pickles on the side, and topped with a large order of hash browns. The omelet comes with toast or a very fluffy biscuit...yum yum yum 😋 let's not forget the scrumptious cheese grits! For my beverage, I enjoyed a very excellent cup of coffee that never ends 😄. The atmosphere is filled with oldies songs 🎵 that I find very soothing and hopping with delight 😊 Come one come all !! Came here for the first time it is a little small inside but still nice. Our server Mary was very nice and friendly. I got the chicken waffles they gave 3 big chicken tenders. My son got waffles with cinnamon roll on top. My only negative about the food is the waffles were not crispy and tasted a bit undercooked. I was surprised to see on a friday it was so busy. We waited about 15 min for a table. But other than that everything was food. I would def recommend and go back if i am in the area again.

So today I was about to get breakfast somewhere else, but I spotted this cool place and I had to make a U-turn to see what’s going on so this is my first time at this breakfast place called grumpy’s. When you walk in you are greeted with love and smiles and the atmosphere is so pleasing and comforting. Customer service is on point A1 service and the food was exactly how I wanted when I ordered it. The eggs was well done .The breakfast was very good. The bacon was crispy. The grits was well hot fresh made no lumps or anything like that. The pancakes cover the entire plate and they were fluffy so if you’re in Jacksonville visiting or passing through, be sure to try this place out you won’t regret it.

I have been here twice. Once on my own and once with my partner. Service has always been faster than expected, even when very busy. There's a lot of parking toward the back, but the main lot stays full. There's coffee and water outside, if you have to wait. Some counter seating and many tables. The food is very good, but when busy the eggs might be a little more cooked than expected. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. We will eat here, again.

Hands-down, the best breakfast spot in Jacksonville. I've been going to the one on Kingsley in Orange Park since it opened. It's also a favorite breakfast spot for co-workers meeting before going to work. They've since "franchised", and there are several in the Jax area - all fabulous, But much like other diners in the area, there can be long lines, so think ahead about when you're going. We also frequent the Grumpy's in Middleburg. Get the "Homey's Walking" with your breakfast (home fries deep-fried & crispy; yum!). We've had many of their menu items (caution: large portions!), always tasty and always great service.

A person can always enjoy a good meal. The menu has many choices. Service is always friendly and producing the right orders is primary. The Restaurant is busy, busy all the time and open for breakfast and lunch. Appears clean and happy atmosphere. My experiences in eating there have alway been enjoyable .

It was our first time at Grumpies, we just moved to Middleburg and wanted to check it out after a mention in a FB group. I'm so glad we did, the menu was big, the prices were decent, the food was outstanding! Unfortunately they do not serve alcohol, however, Elizabeth our waitress told us to just grab some mini bottles at the liquor store next door and we could make our own. So THATS WHAT WE DID! It was amazing. And the orange juice they served alone, worth the trip to Grumpies. Fresh squeezed and I've never had a better mimosa lol. They had a special today, Oreo pancakes that they graciously made into kid sizes for us, I admit I had a taste and I regret not getting one for myself! Everything was excellent. The service, spot on. There was no wait for a table of 7 at noon on a Friday. We will be back and we will be bringing friends. Thank you, Elizabeth!

Grumpy's is another favorite of ours... you can start your day feeling adventurous and go with one of their amazing daily specials - which has never been a disappointment like their Sheimp n Grits - or you can just choose from one of their mouth-watering options from their menu... omelettes galore! Healthy options like avocado toast or sweet options for kiddos who want pancakes or waffles and for whomever has a sweet tooth. Both breakfast and lunch are served here for anyone who has picky people in their party... don't fret! There is sure to be a very suitable option for all! The dining experience is always cozy and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend going hungry but be prepared to wait on weekends as the place is packed... a tell-tale sign of a place with good eating!

Grumpy's is your good-old-traditional-southern-big-plate breakfast/ lunch spot. So come HUNGRY! And early! The wait can be insane, but the location I went to had a nice bench outside with a few backyard games to fill the time. This is great especially if you need to entertain kids. I loved my loaded chicken biscuit sandwich that came with a spicy honey dip. I also ordered a side of cheese grits and they were ok. Mine was a little cold, but not inedible.

Craving breakfast please go here cause this will be always the place to go to for breakfast all the time. Grumpy is a great name cause you will walk in grumpy from being hangry and definitely walk out not grumpy lol Grumpy's have a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch choices. I went for the main classic 3XL egg omelette but create my own with American cheese, mushroom, peppers, tomato, ham and sausage with hash brown (best hash brown I've ever had) and four slices of white toast. The ambience was giving a classic farm decor and a busy diner and our server was very hospitable. I will come back whenever I'm back in Jacksonville. **they offer gluten free bread

If Yelp allowed 10 stars, the service from Colton today would be a 20; he was that great! What made him so great you ask, allow me to expand. Upon entering, Grumpys, Colton greeted us with a genuine smile and sat us at our table. He asked open, ended questions to ascertain what we preferred for breakfast and made recommendations. What I appreciate the most was his honesty! Weirdly enough, I like my grits to be so thick that you have to have a fork to eat it, so I asked him how thick they were, and he was truthful that they were definitely not where I would prefer. I appreciate that candor and honesty!!! so I do not like it when wait staff say what they think you want to hear, and not necessarily the truth. I had the omelette which I will say was made perfectly. It was chock-full of vegetables and very filling. I honestly could not finish it which is a surprise. The hashbrowns were probably the best I've had in years! It has just the right amount of pepper and tasted phenomenal. My friend had the big boy breakfast, which from looking at his eggs, or scrambled to perfection, no brownness, no dryness know over cooked. I don't get a Orange Park often however, from the service I received to Colton I would drive back there every day. The food was excellent and the service was beyond outstanding!

Food is normally above above average I ordered corned beef hash. I had it before and it was awesome. This time when it came out, it looked like canned corn beef hash and I asked the server and she said it was. It tasted disgusting at best. If they are going to serve something like that, I would like to be told, in Advance when ordering because I've had canned before, and I would never eat it again They advertised home cooking and that's what I had gotten in the past. If I were them, I wouldn't even put that on the menu.

The service was on point. We sat outside, no wait. The waitress was quick with food/coffee/drinks. The food was great. It's consistent, and had great flavor.

Grumpy's was good, I'd go back. There are a lot of good choices on the menu, and our server was pretty helpful. It's m it was pretty busy but we went during the holiday season so that's to be expected. I enjoyed the ambiance, and wondered if Grumpy was an actual person.

Looking for something new on our way home. This a little off our path but it's new and had good reviews. Time for breakfast! Had a bit of a wait but not too bad. Ok I'm the shade. Once sat we had a booth by the window. Great spot. Server was right there for drinks. Took a while to review the menu as it is large and everything sounded yummy! Started So I landed on the grumpy BLT. Loaded with all 3! Nice and fresh on the sourdough bread. The proportions were perfect. So good! The fries could have been crispier though. Deb had the quiche Lorraine. Very tasty and a good size portion as well. Great spot for brunch! Kristin our server was really great. Took great care of us. We will be back!

Had a nice breakfast at Grumpys. My husband talked it up a lot so I expected good things and found everything to be average, no complaints. Everything I saw and ordered tastes and looks like Metro Diner (possibly on purpose?). To me, it's basic, typical American style breakfast food, not my favorite but it was a good experience. Lastly, our server was really nice and the place was very busy and packed. Overall, no issues during our experience.

Food is delicious, definitely worth the 30 minutes wait! You get a free cinnamon roll on your birthday, Yay!

Great experience at Grumpy's! Despite what looked like a ton of people standing outside the restaurant, the wait time for our party of 4 was just 35 minutes. Their coffee station outside made waiting a bit less painful. Everything moved pretty quickly and efficiently, which is typically not what you get when it comes to busy breakfast spots. The portions of food were very generous and all of the food we ordered--pancakes, waffle, seafood omelet and corned beef hash were delicious. Perfectly seasoned, yummy sauces and toppings. The only complaint was that we would've preferred it to be a bit cooler inside the restaurant. There's no doubt that I'll be coming back here next time I'm in town.

It was amazingly GOOD!!!! Will go every time I'm in Jacksonville. The server was awesome!!!! Taught this Cali girl how to properly eat my grits.

There's a wait food must be great! Service was impressive. Cute little hometown diner. My husband had the Philly omelet and I had the big breakfast with eggs and pancakes. We'll be back to try other fabulous items on the menu like crab cakes or fried green tomatoes.

This place is an Orange Park tradition. It is very busy so make sure you come prepared. They also offer carry out which is a great option. Portions are large but you'll leave happy and fed. Prices are good too for the full family to be able to enjoy.

my first time visiting grumpy's (a couple weeks ago) and I was impressed with my overall experience. The service was great. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I went to the Orange Park location. The sweet tea is top tier! I love sweet tea and I usually make it myself at home because most restaurants forget the "sweet" part. I ordered tea and they didn't disappoint. I also love that they have pebble ice lol. Now onto the food. The pancakes are delicious; as well as the bacon and sausage. As a biscuits and gravy lover and maker, I was disappointed in the taste of the gravy. It was under seasoned and pasty. I'd try it again as a side to see if I just caught them on a bad day because my first impression of the sausage gravy is not a great one. The biscuits are great though. I'll return to try other menu items. Likely to the beaches location since it's closer to me. I'm not in Orange Park often enough to revisit this location.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. Some of the best sausages gravy anywhere. Portions are huge and we have never had anything we did not love.

I was so impressed with this place! Great service, the food was amazing and I can see why everyone comes to this place. I was blown away by how good the good was, it really puts the big market breakfast places to shame. I got the Grumpy's Breakfast with cinnamon roll pancakes, THEY PUT A CINNAMON ROLL ON TOP OF THE PANCAKES!!!!!! I will definitely be back here again soon.

What a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! This is a staple in the community and well worth it. There is normally always a line but it moves fairly quickly. If you are hungry, this is the place for you. Everything, and I do mean everything, is fabulous on the menu. The pancakes are cooked perfectly with a soft center and crisp edges. The sausage gravy is to die for. The servers are all great. There are a few locations in the area and if you are in town you cannot go wrong at Grumpy's!

Everyone was so nice and the food was so good. The pancakes are huge and i got a grumpy big breakfast so that included my sweet tea in the meal. affordable and great service, definitely recommend

Stopped in today for an early breakfast. This is the first time I have been and the place is not packed to the gills. Service was prompt and attentive. I was greeted by the hostess and immediately seated. There was plenty of seating in the clean and orderly restaurant. I ordered the Grumpy's breakfast (2 scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patty's, home fries, and 2 blueberry pancakes with a coffee and a water). The breakfast includes a drink which is a plus but I had to pay an upcharge to add cheese to my eggs and blueberries to my pancakes. They also have cholula hot sauce which is a plus for me. Meal was well prepared and prompt. All food was delicious. The home fries are like having a whole small potato on your plate and their house coffee is better than most places (they even gave me a 20 ounce go cup of coffee without me asking). Great meal at a great price even with the up charges I added on. Totally recommend it for an early morning breakfast as it is open earlier than most places.

Moved from the west coast to Jacksonville about 8 months ago. We've been looking for a mom and pop diner since we've moved. We found this hidden gem. Kristen was our waitress and gave us amazing suggestions on what to try here. They are very friendly. The place was very clean and the food hit the spot!!! We will definitely be back.

I think this is officially my favorite brunch spot! I absolutely loved it! I was with my best friend and our wait on a busy day was about 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and kind. When we sat down our waiter Victor greeted us. He treated us very well throughout our whole time there. We started off with the vanilla cold brew which is something we're familiar with. Since it was our first time there we wanted to try a little bit of everything. We split the strawberry Nutella waffle, the Italian sausage omelette, and the crab cake Benedict. Just a heads up, the waffle and omelette were specials that week. The strawberry Nutella waffle had just enough sweetness, it was not overly sweet. The actual waffle was perfect! You could put anything on that waffle and I'd eat it! Lol The Italian sausage was so good! I don't know who's brain child that was but it was a great idea! It also came with a side of hash browns and those might be my favorite hash browns now! The crab cake Benedict was amazing! The crab cake was crab! You hear me?!? No fillers like some restaurants like to do. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the house potatoes we great! 10/10 experience for me and I will definitely be back!

Finally made it into Grumpys and not for dragging my feet but for the wait and I understand now. Lovely little diner with friendly service and the best OJ I have ever had. The servers were all very sweet to my toddler too. The food was amazing and made me nostalgic

The first time I went, it was absolutely wonderful, the second time wasn't as good. I think a lot of it depends on how busy they are, but even when they were busy, they have a system where multiple people check on you and it's just a really good way to make sure people get what they need.

Cleanliness 5 stars Service 5 stars Food 3.5 stars I think maybe the local hype about this particular restaurant had me expecting more from the food. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash plate. If isn't Hormel canned corn beef hash, then it is another brand of canned hash. It was cooked perfectly, crispy exterior with a warm middle. I grew up eating canned hash, so I enjoyed it. My hubby didn't, and didn't care for it. Over easy eggs were done right. Grits were smooth. And the toast comes out buttered. Hubby ordered the big breakfast, which is pretty much the iHop or Denny's breakfast. Everything was cooked well. He enjoyed the pancakes, I found them to be a little tough (maybe the batter was stirred a few too many times.) Overall it was a good experience to try a locally owned restaurant.

Food was really good, the service was fasttt and my server was great. The look of the restaurant was nice, inside was actually really loud but it was good.

Grumpy's is such a staple place to visit. I stumbled upon this place while looking for great breakfast places to explore. My brother and I enjoy coming here every time I am in town. I ordered the fried chicken benedict the first time I came and it was quite delicious. The chicken was crispy and the hollandaise sauce was amazing. My brother ordered the burrito and it was stuffed to the brim. He always enjoys that when we visit. Everything on the menu is fairly priced and the portions are great. My friend once ordered oatmeal and it was in a huge bowl stuffed with fruit. The staff here are always friendly and give great recommendations. The only con about this place is that the wait may take long if you go during a busy time.

The food is amazing as always came here multiple times over the last couple years! Love the friendly family service! Me and my boyfriend always have a great time with good food leaving full n satisfied with still some leftovers! 10/10 always! Great service. Great staff. Great environment. Very clean. I hadn't been in a couple years and while it was just as packed as I remembered, the wait was quite short. I ate at the diner single seat since it was busy even though I hate sitting there typically. It wasn't that bad except for the random yelling of "RUNNERS" or whatever she kept saying. I had the everything chicken biscuit which was new for me and it was cooked to perfection; light and crispy but also soft and juicy unlike some other biscuit places that leave you feeling heavy like an extra 20 pounds is in your belly. The spicy sweet jelly that came with it was amazing and I poured it all over. I ordered cheese grits cup and it was so fancy I almost laughed out loud. This is not the Grumpy's I remembered! Overall the food was great. The service was awesome and the upgrades are welcomed. I'll be back sooner next time.

So disappointing! Was a great place and good homemade food, but now that corp has taken over everything is packaged and pre-made jar sauce, eggs Benedict were not right and sauce was awful from a jar- and prices went up really? pay more and get less? They assume customers have no taste buds?

Made it an hour before closing. They were on a wait, but it was only about 20 min not too bad. The staff was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Reuben with corned beef and mashed potatoes and gravy. The sandwich was so juicy and delicious, the mashed potatoes were very good too. Hubby ordered the corned beef hash. He said it was good . The sweet tea was very refreshing! Gotta go back!

Great service. Food was extremely delicious. Service was superb. We did have a 15 minute wait but it went by super fast it seemed. Diner atmosphere so tables are close together. I will definitely be back.

Always a definite go to, the food is delicious, and the portions are well worth the money, which is a very reasonable price point, and did I mention major variety to choose from. I have never left unhappy. They also always have plenty of staffing so the wait time is minimal.

All the food is GREAT!! Breakfast or lunch- you can't go wrong!! The wait staff are super nice and attentive! Coffee is not bad either!! Extremely clean and great atmosphere! The wait may be a while on the weekends, but it's Totally Worth It!!!

Honestly I believe this is a long standing restaurant and people have grown to love it. They're wait was not bad at all. Little congested, clean, and they do get busy in the mornings. It clears out around 1200 -1300 My waitress was new but she did well. She was unfamiliar with a lot of the foods I was asking about. I love a waiter actually takes the time and try items in the menu. I'm a grits fanatic, and they were very gritty. The coffee was limited. The veggies were not done, my friend sent them back to be cooked, well done (cook them the right way the first time) they were hard. We both had coffee Meatloaf with, potatoes/gravy and veggies Avocado, egg and bacon on wheat club Food was okay, unseasoned just plain. Will not be going again and will not be making any suggestions to there.Unless it's my great aunt who needs low sodium and to watch her intake.

Went to Grumpy's on Kingsley Ave. for breakfast based on a recommendation. I was not disappointed. Had a pretty traditional three egg breakfast with sausage patties, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy. The meal was excellent and the service friendly and fast. Next time I'm visiting family in Jax I will definitely be back. Oh, and I purchased a Grumpy's coffee mug while I was there. It's gotten a lot of positive comments back at work.

I had the pleasure of visiting Grumpy's during my trip to FL, and it was an amazing experience! You can quickly tell this place is a local favorite, that is also pouring with tourist.. and they welcome you all the same. The staff is awesome, quick, efficient, and quite funny. I sat at the bar and just watched and they didn't miss a beat! Shout to the young lady running the food window, she had orders coming out and hitting tables without delay... she gracefully commanded the kitchen while supporting the wait staff. And did I mention, the food was phenomenal! I also had pancakes and they were massive, and delicious! The experience did not lack at all! Definitely, would recommend!
