Grupeta - Review - Nuevos Ministerios - Madrid - The Infatuation
"Grupeta’s outdoor seating (reservations essential) overlooks leafy trees and a playground set far back from the busy street, so you can leisurely eat and drink while the kids burn off some energy. The breakfast menu, served on weekends until 1:30pm, is fairly straightforward—the usual eggs, avocado toast, and pastries—but don’t expect traditional pancakes. Grupeta’s version, called tortitas manolito, is a sweet-meets-savory surprise: light and fluffy flapjacks topped with an egg and bacon, soaked in dulce de leche instead of syrup. The cafe is cycling-themed, so expect biking books, cycling-related trinkets everywhere, and cyclists in their best Lycra. There are lockers available for storing helmets (you could probably squeeze a Corte Inglés shopping bag in there) while you eat." - Lori Zaino
