Had lunch at G’s slow cooked bbq and it was so delicious! Love the restaurant decor very bbq chic! I had the smoked turkey with fries and beans and everything was cooked perfectly! We have had to go before but this was our first time eating in. Service was excellent and the food cooking staff was amazing because our food was cooked quickly but perfectly. Great bbq restaurant and highly recommend for eat in or take out! Oh and our servers made sure we knew G’s serves breakfast!!

Delicious, delicious, delicious, did I mention delicious? New location for the owner of Gs BbQ ,Gary. Service is fast, food is great, the salad is huge, brisket and turkey are moist. Limited seating because the space is not the largest but they clean tables quickly and your wait should be short.

G’s Barbecue is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, western rustic atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for a hearty barbecue meal. The décor feels inviting and authentic, making it a great spot whether you’re stopping by with family, friends, or just craving some quality comfort food. The food is where G’s really shines. The meats are always fresh, tender, and cooked to perfection, packed with that smoky flavor you want in true barbecue. Pair that with their homemade, homestyle sides—everything from creamy mac and cheese to perfectly seasoned baked beans—and you’ve got a plate that feels like it was made in someone’s kitchen with care. Portions are generous, and you can tell that everything is made with attention to detail. If you’re looking for a spot that combines quality food, a welcoming atmosphere, and that rustic southern charm, G’s Barbecue is the place to go. It’s the kind of restaurant you’ll want to come back to again and again

Do yourself a FLAVOR and stop at G’s BBQ! This place is a hidden gem that deserves way more love. I came in for breakfast and left wondering why the parking lot wasn’t already full of brisket-loving fans. Let’s talk about the brisket biscuit—absolute perfection. The bark on the brisket is smoky and flavorful, the meat is tender with just the right amount of fattiness. It's everything you want in BBQ, tucked into a fluffy biscuit that dreams are made of. I seriously considered ordering another one to-go for future me. The customer service? Top tier. Everyone was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. You can tell the folks here take pride in what they do—and it shows on the plate and in the atmosphere. I haven’t even had lunch here yet, but if breakfast is this amazing, I can only imagine it gets even better. You can bet I’ll be back. Bottom line: if you’re even remotely near G’s BBQ, GO. Your taste buds will thank you. 10/10. Highly recommend.

If you’re anywhere near this small-town barbecue joint, do yourself a favor and stop in! The ribs were perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with flavor, and the sides were just as delicious — the potato salad and fresh salad were excellent, and even the ranch dressing was homemade (and amazing!). They have a variety of sauces that pair perfectly with the meat, and you can tell everything is made with care. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. It’s clear he puts his heart into both the food and the experience. I truly wish him the best of luck — with barbecue this good, I have no doubt this place will become a local favorite!

I saw this restaurant on a friend's timeline and wanted to try it since I'm now doing new restaurant Sundays on my YouTube channel. We took the ride out. The weather was not the greatest, but we manage to get there before any downpours. When we got there, the restaurant was full. All they really had was sitting at the bar or outside, since it wasn't raining we decided to sit outside and hope that the rain did not follow us. We ordered a couple appetizers and our drinks. You can always judge a barbecue restaurant, by it's sweet tea, and this one was pretty good. Appetizers came out and not shortly after we had finished. The appetizers, our main meals came out. The décor in there, it's typical of a barbecue restaurant. They had music playing on a speaker for us outside. So we had a little bit of background music to drown out the street traffic. Had to ask for a drink, refill and the only other thing, and I know it's outdoors, but the flies were really bad sitting out there. All in all, the food was really good. One of the managers, came out and asked us how our food was, it was a nice change from gainesville barbecue restaurants.. If you're looking to try some barbecue somewhere outside of Gainesville, Give them a shot!!

Yelp
Last night we went to G's Slow Smoked Barbecue in Starke, and let me start by saying--we never go out to eat. We're an autism family, and meltdowns can be very unexpected and unpredictable, so dining out is usually something we avoid. But G's went above and beyond for us. Even through our daughter's meltdown, the stares from other customers, and me trying not to cry at the table... our server Brooke and the owner made sure we felt welcome, supported, and comfortable the entire time. They even changed the TV outside just to help calm her We aren't a family who tries to disturb anyone's meal, and I was honestly worried about affecting others' experience, but G's treated us with nothing but kindness, patience, and compassion. Thank you so much for making this special family feel seen, welcomed, and safe. Your kindness meant more than you know.

Shannon S.

Yelp
During our road trip we stopped in for lunch. WOW! G's BBQ made our mouth's water! The brisket sandwich, collard greens & slaw were so good! The service was outstanding! Lexi welcomed us and even with the busy lunch crowd she was attentive to our needs! G himself popped in a few times to chat and brought us each over a tasty beef rib to try! Can't wait to pass back through for another delicious meal!

Yelp
We've enjoyed G's BBQ at their previous locations, so we were excited to try out their new spot--and it absolutely did not disappoint! We met up with family for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon, right in the thick of the after-church crowd. Despite the rush, we were greeted and seated promptly. The staff handled the hustle impressively well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and stayed on top of everything, even with how packed the restaurant was. It's always a great sign when service doesn't suffer during peak hours. As for the food--just as delicious as we remembered. G's continues to deliver on quality, flavor, and those comforting BBQ favorites we love. Highly recommend checking out the new location. They've kept the same welcoming vibe and excellent food, now with a fresh space to enjoy it in!

Yelp
The food here is excellent. We started with the jalapeño popper, omg those were so good. Spicy and gooey and yummy. We tried the platter with ribs and brisket, it came with two sides, mac and cheese and collard greens along with a slice of toast. The serve was very friendly and prompt. She kept our glasses filled and checked in a few times. The atmosphere is very family friendly with TV's that had sports Chanels on. I would definitely return to try their breakfast if we are in the area again.

Yelp
Wow! I really enjoyed G's BBQ. Our party of four just slipped in before the wait lines. Our waitress was very friendly. I think her name was Cherie. She made our experience that much better. Inside there were lots of TVs all around with closed captions and an over all good vibe. I'll be back the next time visiting Starke.

Yelp
Servers were nice. Food prices were reasonable I ordered the Brisket platter I asked for moist it was a little dry for me.

Yelp
Barbecuterie Board! Love the creative name and the delicious flavors on the board!! I plan to be back again!! The service was also good - attentive but not hovering.

Yelp
Not impressed. Over priced for a pork sandwich on a regular burger bun with undersized side. Bbq itself was average
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! This restaurant has become a regular pit stop for us while traveling back and forth to visit family. I haven't had anything that isn't amazing. Turkey- check. Ribs- hmmmmm. Pulled pork, absolutely delicious. And the mac-n-cheese is so good. I love their garlic toast too. Service has always been fast and friendly. I highly recommend trying the desserts too- psst, you can take it Togo if you fill up!

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner while on the road from Hilton Head to Florida. Conveniently located right off 301. The atmosphere is fun casual, tables and picnic benches. Super friendly wait staff, quick service. The bbq was fantastic. Tom had chopped brisket with fries and collard greens - he loved every bite. I had wings, which are smoked to perfection and then flash fried for some crisp. I think there were eight wings to an order. All the sauces are great. Beer (bottle only) and wine. We will definitely go back since we travel this route frequently. Total check for dinner plus a wine and a beer was $57 including tip. Next time I'll try the ribs!

Yelp
We were in Starke, FL this weekend and tried out the recently opened G's BBQ (@gsbbqflorida). We pulled into the parking lot and the smell of slow-smoked meats wafting from the premises immediately hit my olfactory nerves the moment we stepped out of the car. It was a nice late afternoon so we opted for outside seating, plus the inside was jam packed full of people. I ordered the G'Rassic Beef Rib. It's a massive beef rib to rival the one that toppled Fred Flintstone's Cavemobile. It was delicious, meaty and fatty, smokey and salacious. No sauce required, but very much appreciated its complementary position on the table. Mah Wife got the BBQ salad with brisket. This salad was HUGE. Looks like they used a whole bag of mixed greens and added corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and a side of avocado ranch. This salad could feed a family of four. The avocado ranch was creamy with just a hint of jalapeño heat. Before the meat sweats kicked into full gear, we got some peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The temperature contrast between the warm cobbler and the cold ice cream was a perfect way to end the meal. If you're in the Starke area, definitely check out G's BBQ.

Yelp
Pro's: - incredibly fast service. Our appetizer was out before we were even done ordering. - every single person was friendly. - delicious bbq and the sauces were great. Try the spicy mustard. - pricing was very reasonable. - collard greens were on point. Mimi made them. She's not messing around. Cons: None - it's that good

Yelp
I've been following the owner around NE FL for years, as he keeps having to move for one reason or another, so I was happy to find his BBQ as close to me as Starke. It just took us a while to manage to get there. I've always thought his food was some of the best Q I've ever had, and this location certainly lives up to the reputation. Mama and I split the Barbecouterie board, and everything was delicious. The ribs were done perfectly, falling off the bone and so much flavor they don't need any sauce. Same with the brisket and pulled pork, but I used sauce on them anyway, cuz it's just so good. But in my opinion, the poppers were the stars of the board. Amazing smoky aroma and taste, and wrapped in bacon. What more could anyone want? We'll defo be back to have more of everything on the menu.
google avatar

Tim A.

Yelp
The food and service at this place was great. We saw it being prepared to open last time we passed through and wanted to give it a try. The poppers were very unique. Bacon wrapped, stuffed with cheese. I think they were fried but they were not breaded. Served with an avocado dressing. They were a real treat. They have specials that have not been added to the menu but we decided to stay with the menu. I had the turkey dinner with fries and beans. The fries were crisp and tasty, I added G's sauce and they were great. The baked beans were very savory and had chunks of meat mixed in. One look at the turkey and I thought i was going to be disappointed. The presentation was not appealing. Just 2 quarter inch slabs of turkey breast. Exactly the same size. I was certain this was not made in house and would not be enough. I was so wrong. The turkey was moist and full of flavor. This was definitely made in house. Presentation means a lot.

Yelp
So we've visited the other location before it had the fire food was always ok but nothing super great. It has definitely improved since reopening in Starke. The place is modern and nice and service was good and food came out quick. Highlight was the pork rinds with a side of queso. I got the beef rib and the Mac and cheese and sweet potato tots. The Mac was ok but the tots were amazing. Has a maple brown sugar on them and so so good. The beef rib was tender but too much pepper and not a ton of meat for the $20 price tag. My bf had the St. Louis ribs with fries and green beans he like it. Also garlic bread was very good. I would go back and try some other items. Side note busy at 1102 so come early!!
google avatar

Yelp
Have been a huge fan of G's Pulled Pork for years...but Barbequeterie?? Where have you been all my life?!! I am a huge fan of Bento boxes, charcuterie and the likes-because I get to try many different items. G's Bar-b-queterie Board is exactly this- a little bit of everything! There were 3 of us and we were all very hungry-so we ordered 2 boards- perfect! We will most certainly be back!

Yelp
G's recently moved and remodeled and the entire place is beautiful inside and out. It's very clean and well kept. The inside and outside both have huge tv's for watching games and the news. I've had their food at lunch (takeout) and breakfast (dine-in). Both were amazing. For breakfast this time we had build your own breakfast sandwich on biscuits. The biscuit itself tasted homemade and fresh. And it's huge. The chicken sandwich and bacon sandwich were equally great. We added fried egg and cheese as well. It was delicious. Their menu is fairly small for breakfast but you can choose sandwich, platter or wrap. The lunch selections are much larger. The prices are fair for what you get, too. The staff is super friendly, both waitress and other staff. They went above and beyond to help and make us feel welcomed. We will be back.

The Goose Buster, B.

Yelp
We went take out. Everything was great. Potatoe salad was perfect as was the coleslaw. Some places never get those right. Saved the corn bread for breakfast. Ribs and catfish were delicious. Wonderful food. Chicharróns were perfect! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Parking on either side of the building. Two large TVs on each end of the dining area. One TV for kids and one with sports on each end. Bar seating available or plenty of tables. Service was quick and efficient. Everyone was very friendly. The food was excellent. I had a catfish po-boy and my wife had a brisket sandwich. I would order either again. Highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Harvey R.

Yelp
Another wow! Had heard of this place and hadn't gotten an opportunity until recently. Definitely busy but rightfully so. Tried the smoked turkey sandwich and didn't disappoint. Chose their Cole Slaw and didn't expect such a large serving. All were delicious!! Chose their bar to help my limited time visit. Bartender and support staff were overall. Not extremely loud but as could expect with all tables full. Will definitely try again and choose a different plate.
google avatar

Yelp
Best BBQ in town!! I've been to this place a couple of times and the food is always on point along with the service. Don't bother going to Sonny's the good bbq is here.
google avatar

Kristy A.

Yelp
Scrumptious! I was here a few years ago and was not happy but could not find my review! I took pics! I have proof. Anyway, this trip did not disappoint. No new pics I forgot my phone! Give this place a try!

Yelp
Took my five kids out for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Keep in mind this is a former Pizza Hut, so it can get pretty cramped in there. Food was good but portion sizes left a little bit to be desired. Appetizers (fried pickles and fried okra) were hot, fresh, and tasty (served with ranch). Brisket plate had about 3-4 slices which was a bit disappointing. All the sides were fresh and delicious (potato salad was on point). Kids all enjoyed their meals, too. Service was okay, but they seemed shorthanded as it took a few minutes for our server to greet us. Other than that, though, she was friendly and attentive.

Linda W.

Yelp
Just enjoyed a wonderful lunch at G's! Our server Charlotte was awesome! My turkey was delicious, so moist! I had the corn and green beans, yummy. My husband enjoyed the pulled pork , collards, bake beans, all full of flavor. We can't wait to stop by again when passing through Starke on 301.
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
We love G's! Consistently great food! The staff is always so friendly. The place is squeaky clean. Love the ribs, salads, chicken, poppers, deviled eggs, & their corn. Service is 10/10. I order takeout here a lot and it's always packed correctly & with care.

Steve H.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service Salads are very fresh and great variety Ribs are so tender

Yelp
We'll start off with the service which was fabulous. We were greeted at the door seated instantly, and drinks appeared miraculously. The food was excellent, especially the sweet potato tots, which are habit-forming. I had the ribs and they were superb. Nice smoke ring and very tender, fall off the bone. My wife had brisket and it was also delicious Be warned, portions are very generous order just less than you think you want .

Christopher P.

Yelp
I felt welcomed the second I entered the door. The service was incredibly friendly, and she wrote my name on the cup, which kind of made it feel a little extra special. The food was absolutely amazing and more than enough.

Howard P.

Yelp
I drove 25 miles for nothing! I hate wasting time and money; but when a restaurant tries to stick it to me it's just sad. I had never been to the place and stated that to the hostess when I entered and one other that I spoke to. I said I would look at the menu while sitting at the bar to get out of peoples way. As I looked at the menu I saw something that sparked my interest. It was their "Nacho Ordinary Nachos". Do not be fooled by the name as I first was since upon reading the description it sounded like a dog's breakfast, and I doubt looked much better because instead of what you might have thought it was (chips, cheese, salsa, 'peños; fairly ordinary right?) there was other stuff on them (which I would have had placed on the side and not as a topping in order to avoid nasty soggy chips after 10 minutes or less due to all the liquid!) as stated on menu: nacho chips, queso cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, shredded pork, and comp sauce; cost $9. You could swap out the pork for brisket (+$1) or pulled ribs (+$2). So now I am trying to figure out what the @%* "comp sauce" is since it is not all described on the menu. My first thought is that it meant complimentary; but being that it is part of the the actual dish it is included in the cost of the meal so not complimentary. It again was shown for another dish; but as an extra cost (+$.75), so definitely NOT COMPLIMENTARY! So I asked the staff what it was and was told it's a BBQ sauce. No more info provided like: sweet, smoky, spicy, etc. just BBQ sauce! I really do like to keep asking questions when they know I have never been there so wgy would I have any clue as to the flavor; heck I might not want the junk on my food depending on its flavor so why not unlock the mental vault and volunteer a little more detail when asked about something (a poorly trained unprofessional staff was my immediate thought!). Even with the mystery "sauce" (I'll assume BBQ vomit flavor since I guess it's a secret even though I did not ask for its specific ingredients or recipe) issue I thought I would get an order of the "ordinary" nachos; but I did not want any meat on my nachos (nor that "comp" vomit) so I asked if I could get the dish sans meat and I was readily told yes. Great! I then asked (knowing the meat was the most expensive ingredient) what the cost was without the meat. What do you think I was told? Yep, same price even without the "comp" vomit at $.75 extra on another dish and zero meat. Note: there is another sauce just described as "sauce" that will cost you $.50 so again NOT COMPLIMENTARY! I would have loved to have seen my expression when the staff person told me that. My response was "You expect me to pay for something I'm not even getting!". Dumbfounded bewilderment was the look I received like I should know that of course I need to pay full price for something they are not even providing. I said goodbye quite bluntly and stated they need not worry about ever getting business from myself or those I know. The kicker is their business description (obviously a lie) that states: "a celebration of southern tradition and family values", and "our team is dedicated to providing genuine hometown hospitality, ensuring that every visit is memorable". It was memorable alright; entered hungry, left hungry with my intelligence insulted. I learned that G's "family values", "southern tradition", and "genuine hometown hospitality" is nothing I want experience again; and I certainly would never want to "become part of" their unethical "family" of thieves! I called the next day and the excuse from the manager was "it'new to the menu. Why would that matter when your staff was willing to modify my order, but not the price! Try the Downtown Grill; they will serve a meal the way you want it and not charge you for something you did not get.

Yelp
My first visit to G's BBQ since opening in Bradford County. It's a Monday, so the place was not busy plenty of space to sit at the bar or indoor dining. My waitress was super friendly, gave me her name, Morgan. They did not offer lunch specials but had a fair selection of options. I had the pork rib platter with two sides and a tiny piece of toast. I had the Mac and cheese and collard greens. The sides were good, but not as hot as I wanted them. Freshly made collard greens not from a can, I appreciated this. The ribs were tender and tasty, the sauces were very tasty as well. Total meal costs $15, a fair price for the meat portion. I would have loved a little more on the sizes but overall I enjoyed my meal. I will definitely come back.

Shelby B.

Yelp
Everything I've had has been great! Their salads are the bomb. Very fresh! And the brisket!! Oh my goodness!! Always friendly service and a nice clean restaurant. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Everything was great at g's BBQ today! Charlotte was our server and she was just awesome. I took my friend Nadine and she and I split the barbecutery board which was plenty of food for two especially with the extra side of collard greens, some of the best I've ever had and coleslaw which was also excellent. The board had pork, beef, fried pickles, garlic bread. Some really good deviled eggs ribs that were fall off the bone and some jalapeno poppers. I'm probably forgetting something there was so much on it. There was some amazing spicy honey which was great on the pork and some peach jam. That was awesome on the brisket or vice versa. They were also fresh pork rinds on the tray and some great ranch to dip them in. Everything was as good as it could possibly be. On the way out. We got two to go orders of their peach cobbler which was certainly made with love. Thank you G's. We looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
I called ahead for a takeout order and the employee was super nice and patient with me. It was my first time ordering so I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted so I appreciated them helping me out. I got the brisket sandwich, great; they are pretty generous with the slices of brisket they provide. The brisket was tender and sauces were great too. The fried okra was delicious as well and I was kinda too full to eat the potato salad! :) I definitely want to come back here to try their ribs one day. But if you are looking for good BBQ this is the place!

Yelp
Passing through back to Maryland. . Service was great food was 5. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went here 2/16.... Around 7:30, service was slow when it came to refills as in all of us had empty cups and done with dinner before we ever got it slow. Waitress never cracked a smile felt very dull. Food ehhh not horrible but very blah. Fries no seasoning, pork came out barely warm, the bbqs offered came from the clearance section at Walmart. Just plain Jane BBQ joint, the hype was not there. It's also crammed, no real privacy, tables so close a toddlers chair was in between them. If the kiddo was a bit older he could have turned around and drank my tea.

Cyndy R.

Yelp
With family in town my brother in law wanted some BBQ. I knew there were a few options so left the decision to my husband. We ended at Gs BBQ at about 3:30 pm. First I was surprised at the customers there at that time of day. I expected it to be pretty empty. We were sat down immediately and our server came by within 2 minutes for drinks. We were ready to place our order when she returned. 2 of us got the brisket, one got the sausage sandwich with a side and the other got wings and fried sweet potatoes. The service was excellent and the food was very prompt coming out. It was delicious!! Everyone of us throughly enjoyed our meal. I really think it's a bit pricy but that's a sign of the times I guess. I would highly recommend Gs to anyone. Service and food were excellent.

Yelp
G's BBQ has great food, ambiance, and service! When I think BBQ in Starke, I think G's.

Yelp
Great service, very friendly and knowledgeable. Nice place with indoor/outdoor seating. Looks like the place had a new paint job. The food was generous. Lots to eat. Great menu. Great choices. Ordered smoked chicken and got 1/2 chicken. Tasty sauces. Tried 2 Sweet Baby sauce and mustard bbq sauce Baked beans delicious. Sweet potato tots perfect with a touch of brown sugar!

The food was costly for the crumbs (31.00). You won't be getting seconds and if you're lucky your belly will be satisfied but definitely not full. I specifically asked if bread came with the pulled pork platter, "yes" was her reply. Well, they missed the boat on that one, as there was no bread to be found. Fries, don't bother, as you only get a handful without ketchup and a tiny bit overcooked. Service was great . Ambiance, nit so much.

Yelp
Quick service on Mother's Day. The owner came out and spoke with us. The pulled pork is great. We have been a few times and will be back.
