Honestly, I’m surprised by the high number of reviews for this place. The food was bland and poor quality but seemed to be their average. Atmosphere left a little to be desired. The kitchen burned something, so there was a hazy smoke throughout the whole restaurant while we were eating. Service was just okay. I would recommend eating elsewhere.

Wonderful restaurant with fine Mexican cuisine!! I had one of the best chimichangas I've had here. Service here was quick and delicious! Also, there was a man outside who had car trouble; I ran out to help him and met the co-owner of the restaurant who had beaten me there. He asked if he could help at all and offered the man assistance. I will gladly support business owners with that type of attitude!

We live in Moody, we've never been here. Now my husband and I eat here all the time. This is a great place to eat true authentic Mexican cuisine. The fajitas come out to your table steaming and sizzling. The salsa and chips are our personal favorites. The staff is very inviting and friendly. This place is a great place to eat, get full, and chill.

A local Mexican restaurant. Not extremely fancy but a lot of food for a good price. The chairs are a little upright but do-able. They serve fast so food is ready in minutes

Clean, good food. Service was a little slow, but we got everything we needed. Had the steak it was a little chewy, salad and rice was good. Chips were hot and salsa was good, never got a refill on salsa. Overall an ok experience.

I really hate making this review. I used to love this place and the food used to be so delicious, but it’s gone down hill in the quality department. I had an unacceptable takeout experience today. Congealed shrimp queso fundido (that’s not even real queso), busted tops on the to-go containers, and completely unseasoned and watery shrimp fajitas. I can’t explain my disappointment after having to dig through a messy bag just to be rewarded with bad food. Service was polite and always has been, but the food is unacceptable at this level.

I like this place pretty good, have eaten here several times over the years. Decent food and good enough service. Sometimes a little slow on the drink refills, but it works. Give ‘em a try.

Our food was generous and excellently done. Services were great as well. We will be back.

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and we were seated promptly. The servers were attentive and friendly. They brought out hot fresh chips and salsa as soon as we were seated. The food came out soon after, piping hot and delicious! The chicken enchiladas were some of the best I've ever had. The kids cheese quesadilla was a hit with my daughter. We both ate for under $20. Fast service and great prices! The location is right off I-20, so it was the perfect family-friendly spot for us on our travels.

Mexican restaurants are becoming very bla lately and this place is no different. Salsa bla, food bla atmosphere meh.

I called to place a to go order and my husband wanted a steak fajita burrito or whatever they had on their menu that was equivalent to it. I was transferred a few times to different employees then they hung up on me. This happened the next two times I called and tried to place my order. I haven't eaten there since. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

We used to really love this place & chose it out of the several other Mexican restaurants in the area but our last few experiences here have been less than desirable. First we came in and we're completely abandoned at our table. I'm not one to complain about a wait because I know how hard the staff at restaurants are working but after 30 minutes of waiting just on our drink order (when there were only three other couples in the place), we left. Then today, we were served undercooked beef & almost didn't catch it which is really stomach turning. They were very accommodating & we didn't pay for our dishes (just our drinks & cheese dip) but after other poor experiences, it was another bummer. Maybe the kitchen was having an off day, I get that, but with other options in Leeds to choose from, we'll be going somewhere else from now on.

They cross out what you tip them and write something in for themselves. Eat here if you want to get ripped off, otherwise leave it alone.

Wait: The parking lot was filled and we had a party of 5 but we did not ha e to wait. Lots of seating - outdoor too. Staff: Greeted immediately, and seated quickly. Very sweet waitress. Food and drinks: Drinks were in very large plastic cups this helped with refills. Menu states first basket of chips and salsa are free. We got 2 baskets due to the size of our party - thank goodness. The salsa had a fabulous taste. Food ratings/person Kid's taco: 4 Combination 4: 3 Combination ?: 4 Veggie fajitas: 3. They looked amazing but it was bland - like they forgot the fajita seasoning. Grilled jalapeños: 5. If you like jalapeños you have got to order them grilled at a Mexican restaurant. These were very tasty. Dessert rating: Fried tortilla with cinnamon: 5 Special celebration: If you are celebrating a birthday and the person has a good sense of humor - I highly suggest you bring them here. We were still laughing when we left. This definitely made a lastly impression. Great job! Issues: The only issue was the waitress seem to disappear at the very end so we didn't know if she was going to take the payment or if we were supposed to take the check to the register. She finally came back and took it. Overall this was a very nice dining experience and we will talk about the birthday celebration cause it was so dang funny. ;-).

When I entered I was immediately greeted which made me feel good. I was seated immediately after I told them how many in my party (1). My waitress Laiza came and took my drink order (water) and greeted me right away. Now this so far is great service that I love. The employees wore all black and were neatly dressed, they walked around looking happy and talking to customers. Refilling salsa and drinks and smiling. The manager even walked around happy, helping and greeting customers. She brought me a nice big cup of ice water that lasted my entire meal. My only issue is that the straw was too small for the cup. I ordered the chicken quesadilla supreme. I was updated on my order by the manager letting me know it's on its way during the process. Overall it had good flavor and presentation. My only issue was that the chicken wasn't as HOT as it should be, it was warm. I told them and they will correct for others . She saw I had food left and asked if I needed a to-go container. She brought a container for my dip, food, and bag all at once. I put all my food up and left the plate. I had money for my ticket ready for my waitress and an empty plate. Guess which one she picked up first? My emptied plate. I would definitely come bacagain and I would recommend!!! Go here for great food and service. 01/14/20- We ordered the sweet tea and water. They came in huge red cups and we were provided short straws. My straw got lost a few times. They need bigger straws if they are going to use these cups. The chips and dip were ok today. We came when they first open and the chips were not hot or warm. They were old. Smh I decided to try something new today. The steak and chicken lunch special fajitas. The rice was NOT fresh at all. The beans were horrible too ugh. The lettuce they gave me was brown and runny sour cream. I just ate meat and cheese because I couldn't eat the other stuff which I normally do. The waiter was nice but the food was not... I am highly disappointed with today's food. The manager who owns the green challenger and Laiza was not here today. I will have to let them know about the food.

Chips with salsa and queso started things off. Beverages followed quickly after. We both got the steak Chimichanga. Perfect fold and cooked just right. 5x5x2 full of fajita steak. Tender meat, great brown sauce. Fluffy rice, tender greens on the side. Cheesecake chimichanga finished us off. Almost called for blankets and pillows. We were DONE. Great service, great food, great price. We'll be back.

They have good COVID practices. Plastic safety screen at register, less than 50% capacity, mask required, hand sanitizer, covered tooth picks. Food was decent I really loved the beans. They have lunch specials until 3 pm. The free salsa and chips (hot and fresh) was delicious. I ordered carne asada wrapped in tortilla with shredded cheese on top. Great location right off the highway. Of note main door is on side of restaurant was tad bit confusing because you see patio area upon entering.

Randomly stopped here when traveling home from Atlanta. Quick stop right off I-20. Both the food and service were pleasant. The restaurant was clean.

Stopped in for dinner on the way back to Memphis from Atlanta. Easy access from the Interstate. The chips were fresh and salsa was flavorful. The only thing missing from their menu was fresh guacamole. The staff was very nice and food was very good. Could not have asked for anything more.

Well we eat here so much they know us by just placing orders on the phone. My husband loves their chimichanga's and I always get the Taco salads, but Whatever you get I promise you will love it. Great place to eat!

Friendly and fast staff. I have never had a bad meal or margarita when eating here. Really enjoy it everytime I have eaten here whether it be for lunch or dinner. Love there cheese and salsa also.

I have been meaning to review this place forever! Each time I go here, I like it even more. The food is consistently good and not greasy. This means I can enjoy my Mexican food cravings every once in a while and not feel bad later! The service is prompt and kind, they do their best to remember regulars and they charge fair prices. Finally, it seems the employees genuinely like to work there. All of these positives probably reflect a good management team in place. If you are in the area and need a good meal, I would recommend this place over any chain restaurant.

Service was slow initially and then they never came back to refill the drinks. The food was good though, steak was seasoned well, the chimichanga was crispy. I would have given it a higher rating but 2 employees went to the bathroom while I was in there and didn't wash their hands. Now I feel ill seeing that. I will not return!

I've been to this Mexican restaurant a few times but have not had the chance to write a review. The first few times were great but this experience was not as pleasureable. The salsa taste like pureed tomatoe paste with a few onions added in. Im not sure if they have changed the recipe or what but it isn't what i was expecting. Good news, the chips are warm and crunchy! The margaritas are good but more on the sour side. The taste of tequila is rather faint. If you are trying to catch Happy Hour, get there early. HH starts at 3p and ends at 5p. A buck off that tasty margarita so it's worth the early arrival! The service was rather slow this day. I sat with an empty glass for about 5 or 6min before the server asked if I wanted another Margarita. I opted to have a glass of water and let me just say this place has the best water in town! Odd, but it's true. The meal was great but the service and salsa need improvement.

Absolutely the worst excuse for Mexican food I have ever had! It is no exaggeration that the grocery store frozen and canned sections has Mexican food worlds better than this slop. Nothing had any flavor whatsoever. I mean not even salt. We even had to salt the chips! The tamales were 98% very, extremely thick, bone dry, choke you dry , dough. Search in vain for the tiny amount of dry, tasteless filling. The sauce had 0 flavor and desperately needed salt. Even the sauce couldn't help the extremely dry dough. The 2 sides were beans and rice. The beans tasted like unsalted wall paste. The rice was again, devoid of any flavor or seasoning. The waiter was also exceptionally rude. The place was not at all busy but he acted as if it was a huge chore to take our order. He actually started walking off before we finished ordering and we had to call him back to the table. If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid!

If you live in the Moody/Leeds area you already know this is the go to place for Mexican food. Not a bad thing on the menu, quick and friendly staff, well priced, and just plain ol' good food without all the frills.

Food was so so. I guess I have to remember when I read yelp review that the person is most often reviewing their town. It's very hard to beat Tex Mex but when we are traveling for periods of time I really start having Mexican food withdraws. We had the nachos and they were ok The chicken enchiladas were bland.

Excellent service every time I pick up an order. It's not the BEST Mexican food I have ever had, but it is certainly delicious and fresh and reasonably priced. The shrimp fajita quesadillas are the best on the menu!

It's okay Mexican food. Staff is always friendly and food is always served very quickly. This is a staple of the community here but I would not choose to drive to this restaurant if I didn't live so close. Quesadilla is always dependable and the queso is good. Prices aren't bad either.

I was totally enjoying the meal...at first. The tea was great. The chips were fresh & crispy. The salsa & cheese dip were right on point. However, my boyfriend ordered his cheese dip with the hamburger meat in it & the meat tasted old. The little bit of my fajitas I was able to eat were delicious. But i had to use the bathroom...which was the turning point of the meal. I seen not one...not two...but THREE roaches in the bathroom. If they're that "plentiful" in the restroom, imagine how infested the kitchen must be??? I CAN NOT DO IT PEOPLE!!! Left immediately....saddened & disgusted!!

Been coming here for years. I'm in love with there fajita nachos with steak. Yummy. Always very good service, clean and fast.

A lot of people don't like it, but I love it. It's greasy, fattening, and terrible for you, but it's so f'n good it's worth it. The best tacos, salsa, and queso there is.

Love this place so much. Have order everything off the menu. From lunch and dinner. I love the cheese dip and nachos. All so good. Took a friend there to eat. She loved it too. Unfortunately I am on disability so its real special treat when I do. The staff are the best you could find anywhere. I love this place.

Overall good standard Mexican fare. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Stumbled onto this place while traveling thru Alabama and enjoyed the atmosphere.

We had a pretty bad experience here. And I'm really upset we went there. The food was not very good, there was a big hair in my husbands food, they had to remake my food, because it was wrong after I made my 2 simple specifications at least twice to the waitress. Then, worst of all, the manager did not even come over to speak with us.. instead sends the waitress over to ask what we want. Like they have these issues all the time, and could care less.. because they're just off the highway.. and travelers are hungry... Really disappointed. Would never go back.

The chicken tasted like it came out of a can, the rice had no flavor, and the quesadillas were not cut. There was also mold and dirt on the vents on the ceiling. If you're looking for Mexican food in Trussville, Alabama look elsewhere

Mexican restaurants are always my first pick while on a road trip. You can always count on having the ubiquitous chips and salsa brought out to nosh while you peruse a very familiar menu, even though this is your first visit. Guadalajara holds it's own in what it offers. Service was great. No draft beer. Overall A-ok!

I love to eat here. Great price, GREAT service, and good food. The only thing is maybe an updated menu/ they never have mango margaritas. I enjoy dining here a lot and they are quick service.

I decided to stop in here because it had a 4.7 review rating here on Yelp. Rarely does Yelp disappoint. I love Mexican food. I've eaten at Mexican restaurants all over the country, and I love the diversity in how different areas prepare their Mexican food. I'm probably a bit spoiled given the fact that I live in Phoenix, where there is a taco truck on every corner, but I've had very good Mexican food in Mississippi and Alabama before. I would not classify this place as "good Mexican food" at all. First impression was that the staff's clothing was kind of dirty and gross. This is probably not a deal breaker, but it does need to be mentioned. We got our chips. The salsa was kind of a sweet salsa. It wasn't the chunky stuff that I'm typically used to, but it had a nice texture and consistency to it. They sprinkled a little bit of fresh cilantro on top, and I really did like it. Then came the main dish. I don't particularly like rice, but at least they didn't put cilantro in the rice. I never understand why some Mexican restaurants do this. It makes the rice taste like soap. The beans were okay, but it is very tough to mess up refried beans. The main dish, though, lacked a lot to be desired. I ordered the steak enchiladas. The tortillas were soft and tasted fresh, but that's about all of the good I have to say about the meal. It was very bland. After eating a couple of bites, I asked for some hot sauce. That's something I never do. The hot sauce saved the dish, making it edible, but it was definitely not good. The steak was tender, but it had no seasoning whatsoever. The red sauce on top tasted like it had a ketchup base. I couldn't eat the red sauce, so I took all of the steak out of the enchiladas and ate them separately with a little bit of hot sauce. I left the tortillas and sauce for the garbage. Blech. I would not return.

My husband and I stopped here after a weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. It was good not great but good. I had the Chile relleno which I feel like was a little on the greasy side so it was difficult to get a good taste for it. My husband had regular tacos and a quesadilla and he liked both. The decor looked like it was an old Shoney's painted over to look like a Mexican restaurant, which is neither here nor there with the food it just made me giggle. Overall not a bad little place to stop in if you want some mexican food just off the highway.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. We tried the fajitas, fajita nachos, burritos and the enchiladas. Everything was full of flavor and piping hot. Will definitely keep coming back

While this restaurant like all others in Moody is graded on a curve due to the small country bumpkin town, it's by far the best place to eat in Moody. Family run and cared, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food is always just right and tasty.

Eh. I give 2 stars because the sevice was wonderful, food was quickly served and piping hot. Everything else was pretty medicore.

Its a good place to go to get cheap Mexican food. We've been multiple times, and we've never had a bad experience. The kids always get their chicken tenders and seem to enjoy them. We have gotten several different things but really we don't have a favorite. Overall good place to go. We've also never waited for seats but they always seem pretty busy.

Service is always very good and the staff is very friendly. Be hungry when you go because the portions are very generous even on lunch specials. Food is served hot and delicious. Guacamole is very good. Been a regular there for 7 years.

Love the Pollo Locco, that dish keeps bringing me back! All the food is good and the service is even better.
