Google
Lively and rustic restaurant offering sumptuous starters and packed main dishes. There’s something here for everyone. Great beers and tequilas on offer. We were welcomed with home cooked nachos with a hot salsa. We ordered starters of cheese nachos and a salad as we hummed and deliberated the mains. We went for Shrimp Tacos, Pollo Mole and Skirt Steak. The waiting staff are very polite and attentive. They kept our water topped up and gave us a load of tips. 130$ for three of us including 3 beers and the tip. Great value for the quality and authenticity of the food.

Google
Our waiter was so nice and attentive! The food was great especially the portion sizes like look at that burrito size. Not pictured: huge margarita pitcher to share with friends or by yourself if it’s that kind of day

Google
We were there for a Sunday lunch. I had Masitas de Puerco (pork shoulder and caramelized onions) and my friend had Taconazo (five tacos with different meat, pork shoulder, beef, chicken, etc.) The food was delicious and the portions big. My friend finished his tacos but I had to box up my pork shoulder. The service was very attentive. It's a place I would go back.

Delicious! Wish I discovered this place sooner. We ordered the combo fajita and shared between two people (yes it’s large. The shrimps are huge). Flavor is amazing, all the ingredients are fresh and seared perfectly. Their salsa also tastes amazing and homemade. Definitely adding this place to our restaurant rotation.

I enjoyed dinner at Guajillo with friends, and it was a delightful experience. The Mezcalita was easy to drink and would be perfect on a hot summer day. The table salsa and chips were stellar. The enchiladas were delicious, and the serving was generously large. The decor is charming, creating an intimate atmosphere. It's truly a hidden gem for anyone in the mood for Mexican cuisine.

Google
This is your average run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants. We came here for National Margarita Day. Drinks are pretty good, the house margarita was good. The agave Rita was my personal favorite, on the sweeter side but the orange liquor gives a little more depth of flavor. The cheese dip has an odd taste to it, wouldn’t order again. My friend ordered a burrito which is her go-to and said it is delicious. I got a steak quesadilla which was good, nothing special. The employees are super nice and attentive. The restaurant is slightly small, with about 10-15 tables and a bar. Overall, the drinks were good but I’m not strongly urged to return.

Great food. The enchiladas with gray. The refried beans were awesome. I also get those with extra cheese on them.

Google
I live in the area and this was first time I checked out this Mexican restaurant. Concise review - great service, nice vibe inside, and good, but not great food. The staff were very accommodating and friendly during lunch service. My date and I felt a good customer service experience. Vibe - I’m going to call it rustic artistic! Their are colorful paintings inside the restaurant and lived-in seating. It’s a chill vibe. Lighting could be a bit more even spread out, but it’s not like you can not see inside. Bathroom- it was clean, but yeah broken sink. You can still wash your hands, but it limits the experience not having hot water. Food - we order tacos. They were decent overall. I did like how you can mix up your three selections and tasty sides - rice and beans. Not the best tacos I’ve ever had, but yeah a bit simple in favor profile (taste, texture and garnish). Great free mild spicy salsa and chips though!

Yelp
Great Mexican cuisine! I had the Carne Mexicana which was a nice tender carne asada, sautéed in all kinds of peppers. Not to mention the great ambience, felt very authentic. Great Margs as well, located in the heart of rosslyn!

Yelp
If you're are looking for an authentic, family owned, hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, this is your place! My friend and I visited on a Friday night, and to be expected, the restaurant was busy; however, we still received timely service. We did sit at the bar due to no outdoor seating, but honestly the inside seating was better due to do the decor and music; you get the full cultural experience. Last but certainly not least, the food *chef kiss* This has been the best Mexican food I've had while living in DMV area, I'm pretty picky and Guajillo did not disappoint!! Check them out if you're in the area.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a weekday evening and had a good experience. The meal started out with complimentary chips and salsa, and we also ordered some guacamole on the side. The guacamole was good, but the small cup was a bit expensive at $8. I got chicken fajitas, which came with onions, peppers, and zucchini, and sides of guacamole, rice, refried beans, and tortillas. I liked this, and it was a very generous portion size. I also tried my husband's mole poblano, which was good, and my kid really liked the kids' quesadilla they made him. Service was very friendly. Overall, a solid meal at a nice neighborhood spot, and we'd come back if in the area.

Yelp
Guajillo is a nice local Mexican joint! I ordered the chicken and veggie fajitas. The chicken meat was more on the well done side and most of the veggies served with the dish were onions. But the side of beans, rice, salad and guac was very tasty. The service is the star of the show here. The servers kept checking on us, refilling waters, and when the server noticed our table was very wobbly, she fixed it unprompted which was appreciated.

Yelp
This was probably some of the best authentic Mexican food I've had! Not greasy, or overly cheesy, but just excellent, tasty food. We were served with delicious crunchy chips and salsa. As I love spicy, they also have a hotter sauce called Voodoo. Be warned it's very spicy, but tasty, I loved it! We started off with their award-winning Margaritas (try it with the spicy salt), which was amazing! For appetizers, the Guacamole and their Nacho Macho (nachos with beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, etc on top) were a big hit. Both tasty and devoured quick, ended up ordering around round of guac. As for the main entrees, it ranged from Quesadilla, Tostadas, Enchiladas served with rice and pico de gallo on the side. Our group shared the dishes and all had unique tastes. We ended with Churros for dessert. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable especially with some in our group having dietary restrictions and nut allergies. I have to give a shout out to the owner who took care of us and made it special as we were celebrating a birthday. I was wary of the location at first due to parking, but just wait for a few mins, and typically restaurant patrons are in and out, so parking eventually becomes avaliable and its free. If you have to park on Wilson Blvd, you have to feed the meter (free after 8pm on Saturdays, free all day Sundays). This place and the restaurants that share the building have done an excellent job making this a fun, beautiful space! The area around the restaurant is very well developed with condos and the vibe is chill, quiet. Great for families or even a date night!

Sav T.

Yelp
Felt rushed to eat here at 8. Ingredients were precooked and nuked without much flavor. Beans dried out so it had concentrated bouillon flavor. Nachos were stale. Hot sauce was good though.

Kimchi S.

Yelp
It was the most authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine that I could get in Arlington. If you are tired of Guapos vibe, come here. Drinks are amazing. I got spicy margaritas and they make their mix their own.

Theresa Y.

Yelp
Ordered a grilled chicken salad & chips with guacamole to go. It was ready really fast, very reasonably priced and delicious!

Yelp
Great Mexican food in Rosslyn! Great drinks and authentic dishes. Have been coming here for years

Reka ..

Yelp
Ordered DoorDash for pickup they are closed yet the site says open at 12pm on Thursday. Drove all the way to the place and closed. Please update your hours so no one has to deal with this unpleasant experience.

Scott K.

Yelp
Walked up to the restaurant at 1150 on a Sunday. Worker outside tells me "We're not open sir." I ask him when they open. "Ummm... Around 1230." Website clearly says 12. Had plans to meet friends at noon, so we went somewhere else instead. Won't be back.

Yelp
I've come here a few times since living in the area. My experience is always a solid one - I particularly enjoy the complimentary chips & smokey salsa they offer. While the general menu is not likely to blow me away, it's always a pleasant experience that I am happy to go to. In my most recent trip, I went with the Chilaquiles con Arrachera. The skirt steak was properly prepared and I certainly left satisfied. I've also had the Mole Poblano (which I liked less than the Chilaquiles) and Burrito (which is fine but not particularly special) before. Overall - this is a fine local spot to grab a drink and get out of the house, or come for a meal that will ensure you are full for a fair, DMV price.

Beach G.

Yelp
What a fine! Very fresh ingredients. Salsa tastes very fresh and homemade HUGE burritos with tons of meat. Date had beef with mole sauce. Chips thin and warm. Food was incredible. In same shopping center as Pho 75. Affordable. We will return. Nice decor, clean bathrooms. I recommend you check this place out. It delivered a great meal.

Yelp
Great dinner find within walking distance of hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed the food--which was accompanied by great service from our server Lucy and rye whole staff. We liked the warmed salsa; guacamole was tasty and not bland (so many are); excellent tequila selection and good variety of draft beers. We plan to return tomorrow after Lucy told us about seasonal special entree and margaritas.

Chris H.

Yelp
I have been here several times and the food is good. The chips and salsa is very good. Sooo good that you might just have chips for dinner. Make sure to get the guacamole because it's excellent. Sitting outdoors is nice even though it looks at a parking lot. Parking is hard to come by and parking illegally is enforced. I had the fish tacos but chips and guacamole is the best.

Karen S.

Yelp
Been twice, and delicious both times. The Carne Azteca was so yummy. Attentive service. Great lunch spot.

Lea G.

Yelp
Amazing, authentic Mexican. We were seated instantly and brought fresh, hot chips. The service is top notch and the food is nothing short of awesome. I really enjoyed the yummy variety of salsas too. I got a coconut margarita (limited time special, perhaps), and it was creamy, unique, and LARGE. You will get bang for your buck and leave highly satisfied at Guajillo.

Mark C.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood gem. Friendly, attentive service by professionals who seem genuinely happy that you're there! The menu is Mexican restaurant standards on one side, and a comprehensive drink menu on the other. Warm chips and warm salsa were immediately delivered to the table along with glasses of ice water, and our drink orders were taken and delivered quickly. We settled on a coco-loco margarita and an "agave-rita" to start, and both were hits. Dinners for three included a huge burrito, mole poblano enchilada, and mole poblano platter. The food was excellent and shared among the three of us. We are planning our next visits, as there are a lot of tempting cocktails and meals calling our names. The restaurant was about 85% full on this Monday night, but the noise level was quiet enough that we could enjoy normal-voice conversation at the table. There is a small bar at the end of the restaurant that seemed lively. complimentary salsa and chips (refilled!), our three entrees, and two margaritas ran a modest $85 for the three of us. If you enjoy Mexican food, Guajillo needs to be on your radar screen!

Shelby B.

Yelp
Great local Mexican restaurant! Service was incredibly fast. Our food was so good, we loved the salsa, tacos and burrito! We also enjoyed the house margaritas. We will be back!

Madison B.

Yelp
Guajillo is right around the corner from me and I finally gave it a try last week. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side, but they were able to easily seat our group of 4. They started us off with chips and salsa, their salsa is on the spicier side but was really good. For drinks I got the frozen classic margarita, it was really yummy and didn't taste like one of those watered down mixes which was nice. My burrito was massive and so good. I added veggies to it and they used a wide variety of vegetables, similar to what you'd see in stir fry, which was interesting but added a nice flavor. Overall, I'd definitely go back to this restaurant for its convenience in proximity to me!

Anna D.

Yelp
It is a cozy but classy bar and restaurant with a vibrant ambiance. The bartenders are friendly, attentive and make good conversation with you. That's important for creating that relationship that makes you feel welcome and encourages you to return. Drinks are excellent. Food is very good but a bit pricey. They have a good amount of toppings. Salsas are fresh made and taste very good. Definitely a good date night spot or place to catch up with friends.

Chris H.

Yelp
The food was bland and the taco meats were dry. I ordered a taco platter and some guacamole and tortilla chips as a pickup order. Nothing really stood out as super flavorful. The guacamole wasn't even fully smashed, and eventually I was left with firm bits of avocado to work around. The prices would have been fair if the food was a bit better. I was really keeping my fingers crossed for this place as it's in my neighborhood, the service was good, and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

Tracie P.

Yelp
We went for a friend's birthday. The rice and beans were bland. The veggie fajitas had 2 onions, a half a tomato and two pieces of green pepper. The were no zucchini, mushrooms and other vegetables. The chips were really hard. The two stars are for the margarita which was really good. It would have been a better time had we jus have gone to Lauriol Plaza.

By S.

Yelp
Great food, from home made chips and salsa to a nice Dos Equis draft to our main dishes of a vegetarian mole fish and tacos, all excellent.

Elaine L.

Yelp
We went for a late lunch and ordered a chicken burrito, grilled shrimp tacos, carnita tacos and carne asada plate and nachos. The the tacos came with beans and it was so salty. The rice was good though. The burrito had specks or chicken and 80% rice. We also ordered nachos as appetizer. The bathrooms have watered down dish soap as hand soap which to me speaks a lot about a restohygiene. I wouldn't recommend on going there.

Shelby M.

Yelp
Pros: tons of seating area and the patios are covered which is always nice. magonada margarita was perfect, not too sweet but not straight tequila. I got the chicken quesadilla and it was pretty good! cons: only complaint was that the quesadilla was a little messy because of how greasy it was but that's how you know it's going to be good

Catherine M.

Yelp
We came here again and we are sold! They have amazing chimichangas. I will say I could live without green beans in my rice and wish the rice had a bit more flavor. Service is so so kind and attentive in person. We love their mojitos!

Emmia H.

Yelp
Came to this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon around 5 PM. It was not super busy and we were able to pick a seat outside immediately. The restaurant waitstaff is very nice and very welcoming! Our server came to order our drinks immediately and offered us some shots. We got a shot of tequila a shot of vodka! For an appetizer we order the guacamole it was really good very flavorful the chips and salsa are delicious! It's very authentic. We both ordered the five taco platter. One pork, one fish, one steak, one chicken, one Carnitas. The tacos were a little dry but once you add some salsa to them they taste so delicious and very flavorful! I will definitely come and try a lot more menu items. The service in the atmosphere is great and it's nice to sit outside on a spring day.. The strawberry and lime frozen margarita was definitely strong. I will definitely be returning to this little gym in Arlington.

Tim T.

Yelp
We tried ordering through DoorDash. Got through and paid and had a 45 min wait. That changed to 1.5 hours after 30 mins. Had a driver scheduled and then into after an hour, they cancelled on us. Driver left. Got no food. Cancel on us after an hour? Not cool, no matter how good you think you are.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Outstanding experience all around. The pope of service at Guajillo is Ivan, a server who seeks to please and knows everything about the menu. He is friendly, courteous and professional. Actually all the staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Don't ignore the happy hour from 3pm to 6pm everyday. You will not regret having a margarita, either on the rocks or frozen they come in pint glasses and both are tasty and delicious. Before you take off your coat you will receive chips and homemade salsa, which is served warm with just a touch of heat. We enjoyed the enchiladas (beef, chicken and cheese, which you can mix and match as you wish) and the steak quesadillas. The steak was juicy, tender and grilled to perfection; definitely the best quesadillas ever. Guajillo gets our vote for the best Mexican restaurant in Arlington/McLean/DC area. Gracias!

Charita M.

Yelp
OMG my daughter took me to this place for my birthday! I had never been before. The staff was so welcoming. We ordered chicken nachos as an appetizer, a steak salad and burrito for the entrees. The food was AMAZING! Just absolutely delicious. The staff was great! I am a queen and do celebrate my birthdays to the fullest. They made me feel so awesome on my birthday! The lights had went out because some driver had hit a power source and it knocked out the power on the block. While the lights was out I could not see that they were telling all the tables in the restaurant it was my birthday and passing out shots. As my waitress started walking toward our table with the flan dessert for my birthday the entire restaurant started singing, shouting HBD messages etc... it was beautiful. I really appreciated how special everyone made me feel. It was the best surprise. I would have returned anyway because the food is so great! If you are looking for something new you MUST try this place.

First L.

Yelp
Very good food and great staff. The fajitas are what you'd expect; nothing more and nothing less. They're always careful to accommodate my food allergy. They have outdoor seating which is nice when the weather is good, though the music from the neighboring restaurant can get a little annoying as the speakers 'compete' with one another.

Al B.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and frequently visit this place. The food is always delicious and the servers are great! Last night Lucy was our waitress and she went out of our way to tell us about the food and the traditional preparation of one of the dishes. I always look forward to dining here!

Chris P.

Yelp
It wasn't my first choice (Pho 75 down the block was but the line was out the door), so I changed direction and went to Guajillo while apartment and cat sitting for my daughter over Thanksgiving. Service (Angel) was good, taconaza's tasty (5 small tacos), and the chips very good. The rave was the spicy salsa that came with the chips. I hadn't been to Guajillo previously, but I'm glad I made this stop in. I'll be back to try some other items from the menu.

Michael B.

Yelp
We were in town and decided try. the food was hot. The tortillas were hard and not tasty at all. we had the fajitas. there were no spices at all. The chips were old. we spent 60.00 for food that was not edible. They had a rating of 3.5. I don't see how that is possible. We ordered the food for takeout. Maybe that was the mistake.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Will be coming back! Great food & service! My boyfriend and I went to Guajillo last night and it was great! We received the best service since moving to this area. The waiters consistently filled our water, brought chips and salsa, and were on top of everything! The food was delicious. They promptly bring you out chips and salsa when you sit down. This was not your average salsa, it was amazing. The salsa was actually warm which I rarely see at Mexican restaurants and this made it so addictive. We must have eaten about three bowls of it and they kept bringing out more! We also got guac and queso to start which were both great. We decided to share the Taconazo platter which ended up being a good way to taste all of their tacos since it was our first time going. I highly recommend getting this if it is your first time. My favorite was the chicken taco and my boyfriend really liked the fish and the pork belly. They brought out lots of limes and salsas for us to add to our tacos which I always love. I also got a margarita which was very well priced for how large it was. Overall we had a great experience! We will definitely be returning to Guajillo. Since moving to the area we had yet to find the perfect go-to Mexican spot but this will definitely be the one for us!

Marie N.

Yelp
We've been eating here on and off since 2015. Last night the hubs and I ordered 2 chimis for delivery.... one veggie and the other grilled steak along with chips and salsa. What was Great: The tortillas used to make the chimis were fresh and delicious and the portion size was great. Both came with sides of pico de gallo and sour cream. The salsa that came with the chips was tasty and mildly spicy. Chips were good but not particularly fresh... perhaps because we got via delivery (although we live around the corner). Chimis were completely unremarkable. The "grilled steak" did not taste anything like grilled steak. It was more like pulled pork... just a blah sort of tasting shredded meat. Nothing like slices of or chunks of grilled steak as we expected. My veggie chimi was also unfortunately a disappoinment. Oodles of beans and rice with the occasional zucchini, onions and I think I saw a few colonels of corn. No peppers whatsoever. But zucchini? Is that the norm? It tasted kind of odd really. This place has been our "go to" for Mexican food but after this meal we'll have to reconsider.

Kaylee H.

Yelp
had the best drinks, try the pineapple spicy margarita as i'm not a local, i also got the best bar recommendations from abby and chris who also made me those amazing drinks, thanks y'all!!! -the girl from the middle of nowhere

Adrian A.

Yelp
I decided to check this place out after a colleague of mine recommended (only because she knew the owners lol) I gave it a try and it was not that great. The portions are small, and my food was missing flavor for me. My dish was actually a little cold. The margarita was alright, too sweet. The staff are friendly, but one was rude when I simply asked for the manager and stated, "none of the managers were in". Overall, I truly don't recommend it, you are better off going to Guapos. The parking is horrible, we had to park pretty far and the prices are overly priced.

Jen R.

Yelp
Fried Meats and Bad Eats The menu was pretty pricey and I won't be coming back again. Food: Tasting Plate (Botana Ranchera): cool concept. Some parts were good, like the pork belly and quesadillas. However, hard as rock avocados in the guac and deep fried chunks of meat Pork Burrito: I'm not sure if carnitas are supposed to be fried, but the meat came out very dry, not juicy at all. Fajitas: My friends got the fajitas and the steak was probably the cheapest skirt steak I have every seen. Extremely chewy, over peppered, and super thin. The platter came with 4 teeny tiny baby tortillas. $19, not worth Service: Our waiter was very nice but the person who delivered our dishes to the table spilled food all over on my friend's shoe and cellphone and didn't even realize it or apologize. It was a very sloppy delivery.

Nicholas L.

Yelp
Easily my favorite Mexican joint in Arlington. I went for late night drinks and the margaritas were great! I got the botanita sampler which gave me a ton of different things to try. I actually went back the next day for dinner again.... I got a steak quesadilla the next day, which was massive, and easily put me into a food coma when I got home. Complementary chips and I believe a homemade salsa seals the deal on this place for me. Amazing staff too. Totally recommend, if you're in the area and are fixing for some Mexican cuisine.

Lina A.

Yelp
This one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I walk to here all the time. The food is so good and the stuff really good. I love their ceviche and the shrimp fajita. The Apple and beet is amazing. Come and try it. Moreover, they have delivery and take out.

Raychelle S.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday evening around 6:00pm and it seemed like everyone was sitting outside! To my surprise we were able to sit down immediately- it could have been just luck. The outside area is super cute, covered, and festive. The servers were spot on, very quick, and happy to help! The drinks were so cute and very good! I got a mixed frozen margarita and it was out of this world!! I recommend even if it is just for that and chips. I got the street tacos and they were all tasty. You couldn't customize the tacos and they are ordered as-is. Additionally, we got the appetizer sampler and the fried pork was out of this world!! SO GOOOO.

Kevin F.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were actually walking to another taco provider, when we happened to pass Guajillo. Thankfully we made the great decision to check it out instead of our intended establishment. Fantastic chips and salsa as a precursor to the very delicious entrees we chose! We can't wait to make it back. Even better we live within walking distance! Yum.

Andy B.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican restaurant in downtown Arlington. Everything was excellent. Everyone in our party of six enjoyed their meals. I had the Chile Colorado, it was spicy but delicious! A must for anyone who plans tho visit Arlington VA! https://guajillomexican.com/#menu-section

Anita G.

Yelp
Guajillos is an Arlington gem! I came here on. Friday evening with some friends! I got the carnitas tacos which were great! My friends got different dishes (nachos and the carne asada) and the portions were significantly larger! Overall, I am very pleased with this experience. I have had fajitas from here in the past and would recommend!

Shelbi S.

Yelp
Guajillo is the perfect place to meet up with friends for a no fuss brunch or dinner. I did brunch and had the plantains with eggs, black beans, and hot sauce (amazing) along with queso fundido (amazing tortillas), ceviche (would have been better for dinner), and both a skinny and agave margarita. The food is all $9-20 for the most part and the margaritas are $11 but $7 for margarita day/weekend. It's located in a strip of restaurants so easy parking, ubering, and walkable from the metro.

Yasuyo T.

Yelp
I came here with my family to have a lunch. I love friendly customer service. I do not know much about Mexican food. But I felt that this place is closer to authentic Mexican food compared to others. When I had a food, everything was fresh and light. I did not get typical greasy heaviness that I get normal Mexican restaurants. I would love to come back this place to try something different from a menu.

Amy L.

Yelp
I'm SOOO happy to find a great Mexican spot within minutes from where I live. I've ventured to Pho 75 aplenty since moving to the area a couple months ago. And it was this last time when I noticed Guajillo. The staff was really attentive and friendly. They took our orders and brought out complimentary chips and salsa immediately. The salsa comes out warm, which threw me off a bit at first, but was tasty nonetheless. I ordered the chicken mole poblano enchilada. The chicken was nice and tender, and the toppings were delightful. The only slight gripe I have is that the sauce was slightly too sweet, almost on the verge of gnawingly sweet. The S.O. had the carne azteca, which was grilled skirt steak with a roasted garlic-chipotle sauce. Both entrees came with rice and beans, which were perfectly fine. If you're a fan of spice, do yourself a favor and ask for a side of their house hot sauce. You will not regret it.
