We stayed at the Marriott Hotel Guangzhou Tianhe for a week. It is conveniently located in the center of Tianhe, close to malls, subways, and shops. However, traffic is quite horrible during peak hours, often, we would get out of our Didi (China’s Uber) and walk because it was actually faster. While the subway is convenient, it can be very packed depending on the time.
The rooms were clean and well kept, though they did feel a tad older than typical 5 star hotels. Since it opened in 2012, some wear and tear is to be expected after 13 years. We stayed on the 22nd floor, the highest level, which offered a great view of the city. The Executive Lounge is on the 20th floor, while it didn’t have many breakfast items, it was much quieter than the restaurant on the 5th floor.
I especially liked that this Marriott offered two double beds, as most hotels in China, Hong Kong, and Macau tend to only have one king or two singles.
