Tex-Mex Chain Guapo’s Will Debut Tortas and Latin American Flavors in Georgetown | Eater DC

"At the Fairfax Guapo’s I’ve seen the restaurant act as ground zero for testing debut dishes and plating techniques; its ceviche bar now turns out about 400 ceviche orders a week, a dramatic increase from roughly 400 in a year before the bar was installed, demonstrating strong customer appetite for raw fish preparations that will inform the Georgetown menu." - Tierney Plumb

We had a great time at Guapo’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out sizzling hot—just the way we like it. We ordered a mix of meats, tacos, rice, beans, tamales, and even a margarita… everything was delicious. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. The service was excellent too—super professional and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff checked in just the right amount and made us feel welcome the whole time. Loved the vibe inside—perfect spot for family dinner or a casual night out. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend if you’re craving good Tex-Mex in Fairfax!

We love this place. Family owned and absolutely hands down Mexican food. Yes, you might pay a little more, but you get quality food and good portions. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Never had a bad meal there.

Google
Great restaurant that makes their own tortillas. Salsa doesn’t taste like canned tomato sauce. You can see them chopping fresh cilantro. Peppers they use for chile rellenos were firm, meaning they most likely aren’t frozen (could have been grilled longer, though, but still perfectly acceptable). I can taste the tequila- good sign they most likely don’t cheap out on alcohol with cocktails. Some of the better Hispanic food we’ve had on the East coast so far.

We stopped in for dinner while visiting family in town. We had a great experience! The staff was exceptional! They explained the options well and were very patient in waiting for us to decide on some things. The food and drinks were delicious! We really enjoyed our time and would certainly go again.

Google
Great food and portion fitting. A few more expensive items on the menu. Plenty choices to pick from. Some items just aren’t worth the money. It got quite loud so it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Google
Dietary restrictions got blatantly ignored. Look, the food, the service and the environment was all amazing. Our hosts promptly seater us, and our server Oscar took care of us very nicely. However, there was a big issue. We do not eat pork, and we made it known to the server. He acknowledged it, and took time to help us choose. This is a religious dietary restriction we strictly follow. However, the food did contain pork (bacon wrapped shrimp) and we didn’t realize until we were halfway done eating, because we were so unfamiliar with it. After pointing it out, the server mentioned putting it in the ticket, so I guess it wasn’t communicated through to the kitchen or something. We had a nice time until that, and what we initially thought would be a new favorite left quite a bitter (read: bacon-y (not in a good way)) taste in my mouth. I’m sure you all will have a great experience, we just didn’t. Tropical ceviche was 10/10.

Google
Vibrant with excellent food and festive atmosphere. Great outdoor seating if weather permits. For being situated in a shopping area parking lot it does NOT feel like that at all with this restaurant.

Google
Atmosphere was great! Service was pretty good, with exception of once we got our food, service dropped off a bit. Had to flag the sever down for refills on drinks and when we were ready to go for the to go boxes and check. Also, my seafood soup did not show up with the rest of my food so it was delayed getting to me towards the end of our meal. The seafood soup was majority calamari with just a few shrimp and a couple scallops which was a bit of a disappointment. We did enjoy sitting outside under the overhanging on a beautiful sunny day which made the lunch very pleasant. Prices were a bit on the high side for what you get but we did enjoy eating lunch there overall! Would we eat there again.. yes.

Yelp
This was our first time here with my family of ten with a Saturday night dinner reservation. We arrived in two vehicles. We parked in the mall parking lot. We arrived on time, but the place was packed with customers in line to get taken care of. We had to wait about 15 minutes for them to prepare our table for ten. This is clearly a happening place. I started with and enjoyed my two grande jalapeno margaritas with tajin rim for $25.95 each or $51.90 total. We shared and enjoyed the chile con queso cheese dip served with large corn tortilla chips for $10.95. I enjoyed my three tacos de birria braised beef in guajillo, Monterey Jack cheese, cilantro, onions and consomme for $20.95. It is served with Mexican rice and refried beans. I could only eat two of my tacos, the Mexican rice and refried beans. The staff here were very good in serving our large group. During our dinner they recognized and celebrated several customers on their birthday by wearing a sombrero. My total bill was $557 including an added 20% large group gratuity. We all agreed we will return here again for another large family dinner.

Yelp
This chimichanga plate hit the spot - I got the chicken and cheese chimichanga. Every table comes with chips and salsa, so the chips were great with the guac, sour cream, and extra tomatoes on the side. Ambiance was nice, very lovely with all the birthday groups and singing!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food. I love the warm tortilla chips and salsa they serve. This is such a fun and festive place. They always get it right. I have never had a bad experience at any of the Guapos on the area. I came here recently on a Friday evening and they were packed! I had the Cuban style Ropa Veja with fried plantain, black beans, rice, and sliced avocado. It was amazing. My friend had the beef steak salad and an order of fresh guacamole. Staff works as a team. So one person will fill glasses with water, and it could be another that brings the chips and salsa, and the waiter takes the order, and others bring the food, refill water and refill chips and salsa, and someone else to clear the food. All fast and efficient. Almost too fast because everyone is rushing. They are busy! It took quite some time to pay the bill. We had to ask to pay 4 times. We enjoyed ourselves. I will certainly go back. The food is great and so are the cocktails.

Yelp
ANGELLLL. Guapo's Mexican Restaurant absolutely delivered one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Let's start with our server, Angel -- and can I just say, wow. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely professional. What blew us away was finding out at the end of the meal that it was his first day. You would've never guessed. Every time I took a sip of water, he was right there with a refill like clockwork. He checked in just the right amount -- enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but never intrusive. Angel made the experience feel warm and effortless, and he honestly set the tone for the whole meal. The restaurant itself was spotless -- very clean with a cozy, fall-like decor that made the space feel inviting and comfortable. The ambiance was just right: not too loud, not too quiet, with a nice atmosphere for conversation. Service overall? A 10 out of 5. Perfect. The food -- oh my gosh -- the food. We ordered the chicken fajitas, and they came out sizzling and bubbling in this cute little ramekin, looking and smelling incredible. The flavor was next-level -- fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of that authentic richness that makes great Mexican food unforgettable. Presentation was beautiful, and the quality was easily the best I've had in a long time (maybe ever). It is a little on the pricier side, but the portion size and quality totally justify it -- we were able to share and still leave full and happy. Plus, the food came out fast -- less than 15 minutes after we ordered. Overall, Guapo's nailed it on every level: service, speed, food, and atmosphere. This one easily earns a full five stars from me -- 9.7/10. Fantastic all around.

Yelp
I came here for brunch, driving across Fairfax. I was astonished at the decor and size of this location. The servers were helpful, and recommended the chicken chimichanga and I was able to get it with melted queso. The sour crème, guacamole, rice and beans were fresh and flavored well. The chimichanga itself was crispy and the cheese was melted to perfection. I really liked the filling, the chicken was cooked and flavored well. Lastly, I enjoyed the complementary chips that were restaurant style, thin crispy and lightly oiled, and paired with two memorable salsas: a smokey roasted tomato and fresh pico de gillo. The location offers indoor and outdoor seating. With the open concept, I was able to sit indoors while still feeling the natural sunlight and breeze. The location has a very big dining hall in the center, perfect for a large family or friends gathering or even parties. I liked how the chandeliers and walls had Fall themed leaves and decor. Really made a lasting impression on me. I'd recommend anyone who is in the area to drop by!

Yelp
I came here for brunch with some friends and the food and service was great! I got the steak and chicken fajita and the steak was surprisingly more tender than I expected. The chicken was a bit dry but honestly didn't even get to eat it because the portion was so bug after I got through the steak I was stuffed. The servers were all very friendly and were always available when needed!

Yelp
I love Guapo's, specifically Fairlakes location. Food and service are always great. Today's experience was especially good! Came in a party of 25 (20 adults and 5 kids/ babies) around 1 on a Sunday. They don't take reservations on weekends, but they do accept call ahead. Our table was ready on arrival. They prepared our table for 20 but adjusted when more people joined last minute (thank you). Having a ginormous party can be a nightmare for both restaurant and customer, but we had a great time. Our server, Angel/ Angelito, greeted us as soon as we were sat and took our order when we were ready. Food came out within 10-15 minutes. Everything was accurate and yum. Chips/ salsas, waters, tortillas- everything was refilled promptly. He was attentive and enthusiastic about any and all requests. I usually get the chicken fajitas- always good. I tried my friend's beef/ steak fajitas and thought it was a little salty. I also split the nachos with ground beef (picadillo)-- it was good but I thought there was too much cheese (prob unpopular opinion). Ambiance is fun, chaotic, and loud. Interior is Spanish hacienda decor. It was 100' outside and inside was kinda warm too. Guapo's celebrates your special occasions-- if you let them know it's your birthday, they will pop a sombrero on your head and do a big song and dance. So fun. After back to back negative experiences at Uncle Julio's, this was a breath of fresh air. Love you, Guapo's!

Yelp
Really pretty restaurant with an arts-and-crafts style interior and a Spanish-style entrance that makes it feel special right from the start. I tried the chicken enchilada and it was really good, plus we got the nacho platter. My only wish is that they put the sour cream and toppings directly on the nachos instead of serving them on a little plate on top--it would've made the whole dish more fun. Overall though, the food wasn't overly salty like it sometimes can be, and everything was yummy.

Yelp
Guapo's has the same feeling as the Tex-Mex spots I grew up with, so it's very nostalgic for me. We went on a Friday at 6:30 and there was a 20 minute wait, so be prepared for them to be busy. I got the jalapeño margarita, it had a nice spice without being too spicy. For food, I got the birria tacos. The meal came with three nicely sized tacos with a side of rice and beans. The birria was moist and the tacos were crunchy. They were delicious, I would get them again. The service can be slow, we had to ask for the check a couple of times.

Yelp
Ragz and I stopped by for dinner today. Surprisingly we haven't tried this location even though we live pretty close by. The place is huge, pretty clean and massively high ceilings. Our service was pretty quick and our server Kevin did a great job. The maracas and the birthday routine does get very old very quick when it happens 5 times in a span of 30 minutes, but I can see how people love it. We started with the chips and salsa ( obviously). I loved the chips, salsa was okay - if it hadn't been so watery, I would have absolutely loved it because the taste was great. Ragz had the chicken tortilla soup - pretty massive portion and that was his dinner. He really liked it. I got the chicken fajitas and asked to add veggies to it for an up charge. This was okay - pretty standard fajitas. But my chicken was def a little overcooked. Also, the tortillas that came with the dish felt a tad bit too thick for my liking. Also, the Mexican rice could have been so so much better tasting + I didn't like the half cooked peas in it. We also shared the traditional ceviche ( they do have a pretty big list of ceviche options), and it was decent. I'm also wary of ceviche at a restaurant that's not on a coastline, but they did okay. Out to-go trea leches tasted pretty decent when we got home - maybe a tad bit too sweet for me. Spent $100 or so plus tip for our food, which honestly felt like a lot. Will I be back? Sure - if we got bored of all all other restaurants around, lol!

Yelp
A beautiful place to enjoy Mexican food. The chicken enchiladas were amazing. Fresh chips & salsa. Enjoy

Yelp
Went in for dinner on a Tuesday night. Got seated immediately but the restaurant got packed fairly quickly. A lot of birthdays! Staff was clean. The water fountain in the middle adds a fun decor to the ambiance. Drinks were good but they are pricy. 12 oz jalapeño marg was $12 and a 24 oz is about $25. Steak fajitas was really good. The dessert trio was delicious! I highly recommend it. However, towards the end of the night the staff was more busy and it did take time to get our dessert and check. Other than that, a nice experience overall.

Yelp
Solid Mexican food, they have the best corn tamales, and their steak nachos are pretty filling too. We were a party of 10 and seated within 10 mins on a Thursday evening. The food came out pretty quickly too. The decorations inside are pretty nice and I always enjoy coming here for a meal. Service was on point also.

Yelp
This is a fun place that has great food! We came and ordered the ceviche and chicken and steak fajitas. The ceviche was good and had a nice mix of seafood in it, not the best ceviche I've ever had (I think Inca Social or Pisco y Nazca is better) but I still enjoyed it. The chicken and steak fajitas were great, I would say I think the chicken fajitas are better at Uncle Julios though. I liked they kept refilling the tortillas (where were delicious). This place looks like it can accommodate very large groups and many people were celebrating their birthday here (they come around and sing you happy birthday with instruments). Because of this, I would say that this is not the best place to go for a quiet intimate dinner but the atmosphere is rather more loud and exciting!

Yelp
9 of us went on 11/15 for my son and daughter in laws 1 year anniversary dinner....we had the absolute best waiter..he was very attentive and did not make 1 error. Thank you for making our evening.

Yelp
This is the restaurant you can feel good vibes with friendly staff! The foods are always excellent here! My favorite is the seafood soup! It might be a fusion Mexican food, but the taste is really good and a lot of big seafoods inside. I like to see and hear the birthday celebration song here and there! This is a great place to celebrate birthdays!

Yelp
Ambiance: (4/5) Great indoor and outdoor seating. They definitely need more umbrellas outside during the summer. Price: (4/5) Price is average for the area. Food: (3/5) I felt like the huevos rancheros could have been way more flavorful. There was no spice at a lot. Mexican rice also usually has so much flavor, but here they were very plain. It was like I was eating white rice with a little butter. I did enjoy the fruit cup on the side. The best part of my meal with the corn fritter. Service: (3/5) Admittedly, we had a large party, but I had to ask for new water glasses 3 times and my cousin also asked 3 times. We also asked for chips 4 or 5 times too before we got anything.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed Guapo's for over 9 years now. I cannot believe I haven't wrote a review for this place. I like the family vibes, restaurant vibes - singing waiters with maracas and drum thingy, while wearing a sombrero is always a fun with my family and friends. My go-to dish: shrimp diablo fajitas. I can never get enough of their fresh tortillas that I always have a need for more for this dish. Guacamole made fresh is also a win. Their drinks, especially their tequila shots are yum, during their Cinco de Mayo week. Lastly, I like their chimichangas and enchiladas are yum if you're feeling the whole Mexican rice, beans and cheese entree. Overall, you can pretty much order any dish and it's a win. Con - their tamal de elote was alright. I want a corn elote on a cob or tamale in pork, but they don't have them. Service - fast and attentive. Kid friendly place with coloring sheet and crayons, high chair available. Price - it is pricy, we typically go on special occasions, or about 3-4x a year. Enjoy!

Yelp
Let's taco 'bout Guapo's--it was the spot for our end-of-year celebration with my coworkers. The restaurant had ample seating for our large group, which made things easy. We started with guacamole for the table. It was fresh and flavorful--I couldn't stop munching on chips! For my entree, I ordered the Birria Tacos. They came with three well-stuffed tacos, Mexican rice, and refried beans. The tacos were tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The consommé on the side was rich and savory--perfect for dipping and added an extra layer of flavor to the tacos. I found the rice to be a nice complement, but the refried beans were on the salty side. The service, however, wasn't as impressive. I had to ask the waitress three times for water, which was frustrating, especially when I saw her chatting with a friend. I tried to stay patient, given we were a large party, but it stood out as a downside. One fun observation: this seems to be a hot spot for birthday celebrations. During our visit, the staff sang happy birthday at least three or four times, which was fun but can be loud. Overall, Guapo's serves up delicious Mexican food, but the service experience left room for improvement. It's worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for good guacamole and tacos!

Yelp
Went on a Thursday it was very busy but good came out fast and the staff was very friendly! I ordered the chicken burrito it was very good!
google avatar

Carpe D M.

Yelp
My sister and I love a seafood enchiladas and test a Mexican restaurant by their ability to either do it well or not at all. They do it very well here. Not too salty, but well-seasoned. They came with the usual sides of rice and refried beans, which were good, too. The chips and salsa were good-- I improved mine by adding the spicier salsa that I requested. We were surprised to be seated so soon after we arrived because it was a Sunday, early afternoon. Our server was not great. We ordered club soda and grenadine and were told they didn't have it at the bar. The Manager happened by and got them for us. I was charged for the vegetable fajitas instead of the seafood enchiladas, but didn't notice until I'd already left the restaurant. It was a little difficult to communicate because my Spanish was worse than his English lol! The restaurant is festive, well-lit, and roomy and I would return to attempt a better experience from a service aspect.

Yelp
Great food, fantastic service, huge portion on the delicious ceviche, and they packed my to go tacos like a build your own taco kit for my lunch tomorrow. Love it!

Yelp
Guapos is THE spot for happy hour, celebrations or just regular dining. It is a sure spot for good customer service, consistent good food, lively vibes and reasonable prices. If i had to recommend 2 dishes to order at Guapos; it would be the ceviche mixto and the combo (steak and chicken) fajitas. You won't regret it!

Gilberto R.

Yelp
Excellent service and great menu selection. Food was great and the location very well managed. Parking could be challenging depending on how busy the restaurant is. Guapo's does not disappoint.
google avatar

Vivian Z.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour and drinks! Their selection on cocktails is expansive. This location definitely gets busy with a lot of parties abs birthday but the wait is not long to get your food. The menu has a pretty wild selection of options to pick from ranging from tacos, fajitas, dinner plates, burritos, salads, and more, I ordered the enchiladas (shredded beef) dinner plate that came with rice, beans, guac, and salad. I really enjoyed this meal & was super filling. The enchiladas were flavorful but they were on the smaller side of some other places I've gotten the same meal before, They also provide free chips and salad when you sit down. The chips are on the thinner side and easily breaks but to me, I enjoyed them, Service was great and was waited on in a timely manner, the only thing I thought did not go well was that I felt rushed at the end as another server kept asking if we were done & leaving. This felt very rush to get us out of our table asap immediately.

Yelp
1st things first-EXPENSIVE!!!! $130 (tip included) for four people with only water but we did have two desserts and an appetizer with our meals. I'm assuming it's closer to average for the area and the portions are big enough for leftovers so essentially you're getting two meals for the price of one. I just have such a hard time dropping a c-note for four people. We went on a weekday at 4:15. We had no trouble getting in but once we were inside, it took quite a long time to have our orders taken. There was an employee meeting during the time of us being seated so we were ignored for at least 20 minutes. The food was excellent! The restaurant (Fairfax location) was clean. The nachos were so cheesy and good. The fajita steak is crave-able and worth the wait. The cheese enchiladas had the perfect ratio of yellow cheese filling and topping. All of the food tasted fresh and if you don't order anything else, get a side of tortillas which are freshly made on the spot. The corn tamale thingy (an appetizer) was big and delicious. It's like a sweet corn tamale with no meat inside. It is quite sweet though so if you don't like sweet street corn or sweet corn in general, you may want to order something different. Just my opinion-but I would skip the dessert. It was just okay to me. The sopapillas did not have enough honey on them and they were at best lukewarm. They were doughy and not crispy as I have had at some restaurants before. I wouldn't have minded the doughy texture so much if they had been warmed and drizzled in warm honey or sugar or anything. The cheesecake crust is the absolute best but the actual cheesecake was flavorless to me. I understand the staff is trying to be efficient and clear the tables in a timely fashion but they stood right over us and as soon as we put our forks down, they were scooping or trying to take the plates away. I had to stop the server because I needed a box for leftovers. That was a little annoying. Didn't get a full breath out before they were trying to take something away. That's just me though. Someone else might think that's fast customer service. I will go back again but this time I will share a main dish, skip the appetizer and skip the dessert.

Yelp
Hawaii has some pretty good Mexican food, but all of it is what I call "truck food." Not that that's a bad thing, but most of the places limit their selection to the basics. So when we moved to the DMV we started looking for a place that offered more than what you'll find. Guapos is IT for us. We've tried every single dessert offering and every one is a can't miss. I've settled in on the steak burrito plate, but the steak chimichurri is a close second. My wife and daughter usually order chicken chimichangas or Tacos Birria. The only miss according to my wife was the eggs Benedict. Which, I mean it's a Mexican restaurant so it wouldn't be traditional right? Service is always attentive and even on busy nights they were practically on top of us lol no surprise that this is a weekly stop for us. Can't wait for my birthday. IYKYK

Yelp
We come to this location at least once every couple months to celebrate a birthday or to just grab dinner with friends. The ambiance is so nice and lively, service is ALWAYS top notch and the food is *chefs kiss*! Idk what they do with their chips but it's bad how quickly we ask for refills before our food comes out (sigh). Highly recommend checking out the Fair Lakes location, you won't be disappointed. We always get the tamal de elote and my personal favorite is the shrimp and scallop enchilada!

Yelp
I really like this location of Guapos. I love the food every time. They are always consistent. The taste and quality is amazing. I like to get the cheese enchiladas and an horchata. My husband likes the fish tacos. You can't really go wrong with any of their dishes though. I've come across some nearby Mexican restaurants that now charge for chips and salsa. Guapos provides courtesy chips and salsa. They also pack it with to-go orders. I also really like the vibe here. The interior is really beautiful, especially with the fountain in the center of the dining room. The staff is always friendly and food arrives quickly.

Yelp
Guapo's is a classic. The food is consistently delicious. Sizes are generous. Prices reasonable. The restaurant is beautiful. Ambiance is always relaxed and fun. My family and I come here regularly for a guaranteed great meal. The staff are always so kind and friendly. This is one of our go-to guaranteed delicious meals.

Yelp
The vibes and food portions were great! I got their burrito a few times and it's so filling. It is a little heavy but the chips and salsa they give help. The waiter has been friendly every time we go. I recommend for a fun taco Tuesday or anytime you want some good texmex!

Akhash H.

Yelp
I came here for a quick bite to eat for a Saturday Lunch. Obviously my expectations were not high but I was underwhelmed by my experience. The service was rather slow but the chips made up for it. My food was mediocre at best. I ordered the chicken tacos and the chicken was slightly dry and the tortillas were way too greasy. Overall, definitely not paying another visit.

Vatsal S.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in the area. The chili relleno and veggie chimichanga were simply amazing. Grilled veggies were cooked to perfection and the sides of rice beans guacamole and sour cream were all super fresh! Fun ambiance with lively music and birthday celebrations. Service was always prompt despite the crowds. Definitely worth coming multiple times and trying all the options here.

Yelp
A cheerful, bumpin place to fill your stomach. We came here on a Friday, after work around 4:30-5pmish. We did not have a reservation and we were sat immediately. They have a big parking lot--free parking, and are located in a shopping center. It is pretty loud, and it seems like a LOT of people celebrate birthdays here--and the staff play music and sing happy birthday and the whole restaurant turns to look. First things first, service is amazing! Our server's name was Jose and he was great! They have some busboys and other staff that fill in and check in when your main server is busy, so you are always attended to and your complimentary chips and salsa get refilled to your heart's content. We ordered the Carne Asada Fajita, which was flavorful, tender, and filling. We also ordered the Mariscada, a seafood stew --which my parents really enjoyed (they ordered this the first time they came as well). We left very full. When we were walking out of the restaurant, it seemed like they were quite a lot of people waiting-- so if you are coming at peak dinner time, it might be good to get a reservation. It was a bit pricey, but would come back if a friend wanted to go.

Yelp
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Guapo's!! Unlimited chips and salsa, fast food and drinks service, lively birthday singing celebration? What more could you ask for! We came here for Father's Day and were welcomed with upbeat music and lots of balloons. The special was the Tomahawk steak which was impressive looking and I saw a couple of dads order it! I ordered the 2 plate variety option for which I close a chicken enchilada and spinach enchilada. It came with a side of rice and beans and salsa, sour cream and guacamole. My meal was delicious and I would absolutely order it again. For dessert we ordered the flan and tres leche cake. I was a huge fan of the flan. The tres leche cake was just okay - I've had better elsewhere. All in all I was impressed with the food and service here. We told the restaurant it was my moms birthday and they came out singing live mariachi with dessert. She was very pleased :) and my baby was very entertained! I would definitely come back here. Lunch prices for some of the meals were expensive I thought - ranging in the $20 ballpark. But if you order smart and eat a lot of chips and salsa :) you can walk out of here with a manageable bill and happy belly!

Yelp
Our go to place for celebrating small victories and family milestones! Excellent patio and good indoor facilities as well. Enjoy a well made cocktail with guacamole and chips, some fish tacos and wonderful dessert options. Street corn is great and service is excellent!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised visiting Guapo's for the first time! Im new to the area and didn't know that Guapo's already had such a well-established reputation in the region. The restaurant is located in a busy shopping area, so there is plentiful parking. Walking up to the restaurant, the beautiful building and decorations were immediately apparent. The beautiful decorations continued indoors with flowing water falls, colorful art, and a fun and inviting ambiance. The restaurant itself is an experience of its own. You can watch them making fresh tortillas and we passed by the dedicated margarita bar. There was plenty of staff available and they all worked together seamlessly! Our waiter was very friendly and made for a pleasant experience. We were given homemade tortilla chips and salsa upon being seated and a carafe of water. My fiancé and I both tried the Sangarita on the rocks. Our drinks arrived surprisingly quickly! For dinner I ordered the shredded chicken enchiladas and my fiancé ordered the beef burrito. They cooked the steak to his preferred temperature. Our entrees were very filling and my fiancé took half his burrito home. Our bill came to about $60 with 2 entrees and 2 small margaritas. It was slightly pricey, but the experience and quality of food and service were well worth the price. I would recommend this location for couples, families, children, and groups.

Yelp
I have visited Guapos Fair Lakes many times with my family. Yesterday was the worst experience led by the main waiter. He did not like I did not order any alcoholic drinks, only ordered limited food as we were not very hungry and he refused to give us soda refills because he wanted us to leave. Very bad for business and disappointing. Hope the management reads this and fixes the attitude and approach issue this waiter displayed. Sad to see the decline occurring in this good restaurant.

Yelp
It was a stellar experience. I walked in the bar had a few people at it. I was early for lunch. The bartender was on it. The food was terrific priced pretty good as for an ice tea to go, and it was right on time. The service was great. The food was over the top. The place was very clean and very festive Probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants stops. The first time I ate there and it was really good.

Yelp
Ordered Pescado Cancun. Very salty. Ruined the dish. Service was poor: asked for a regular spoon & was brought a small soup spoon after waiting for a long time. I was almost done. Asked again & was given a bigger soup spoon. The staff then brought a teaspoon. Also, food was served late to other company when the rest of the group are almost done with their meals. Expressed to manager of salty food (at least 7 ppl said their food was salty) & was told to order gluten free. Staff need training both on the floor & kitchen to handle a crowd of about 40 people. Food - salty Service - needs improvement Ambiance - busy lunch & confused staff due to volume of crowd like 45-50 ppl.

Yelp
Food is good, service is good when it's not that busy. When it's busy, the service lacks as well. Ambience is very loud when busy. Most of the time this place is busy.
