"This Metro Detroit classic’s shop in Northville scoops its creamy ice cream into cups, cones, and floats. Expect a wide range of flavors such as black cherry, birthday cake, and specialties like Mackinac Island lilac. Don’t overlook the dairy’s other favorite — chocolate milk. They’re also serving the Detroit Grand Slam at Comerica Park for the Tiger’s season." - Courtney Burk

"The 79-year-old icon Guernsey Farms Dairy is undergoing a $1 million renovation in 2020 with updates to the interior and exterior, Hometown Life reports. The Novi restaurant and dairy stand is also gaining a liquor license and plans to serve local beers, wine, and, of course, boozy milkshakes." - Brenna Houck

Guernsey Farms Dairy is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're enveloped in a charming, rustic atmosphere that perfectly complements their delicious, home-style cooking. Let's start with the fried pickles – a dish I wouldn't normally order, but our attentive waiter highly recommended them. And boy, am I glad I listened! These weren't your typical thick, bread-y pickles. They were thinly sliced, with a delicate batter that provided the perfect crunch, and the hint of garlic and jalapeño added a delightful kick. Seriously, some of the best fried pickles I've ever had. Of course, no trip to Guernsey would be complete without their legendary ice cream. I've always loved their ice cream from the store, but there's something special about having it freshly scooped at the restaurant. It's even creamier and more flavorful. The entire experience was delightful, from the friendly service to the charming décor. Guernsey Farms Dairy is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a true taste of Michigan.

Absolutely loved the ice cream here! The portions were generous, offering great value for money. They had a fantastic variety of flavors to choose from, and the quality of the ice cream was top-notch.

This place has totally lost it’s family feel. I grew up coming. We came to town, and were excited to come by for ice cream (as we always do). My daughter and I love coffee ice cream. She asked for a baby size scoop because we didn’t see the Mocha Chip on the menu. She didn’t like the coffee. I tried it. It was gross. Instead of giving her a new dish/flavor as a replacement, they charged for me for a second dish despite me telling them neither of us liked it. 😡 First, skip the coffee flagor. Second, be sure to ask for a sample first! The day before we drove out to Modern Cone. It was a completely different experience. The people working there were personable. Better flavors, bigger portions and cheaper prices. Was totally worth the drive. Super sad for this change… the place just isn’t the same.

To start off; the smell when you walk into this place is absolutely divine. I’m assuming it’s the smell of the waffle cones being made. To the left is the ice cream portion of the store where you can order ice cream to go or dine in and to the right is the dining area for actual food. I went on a Saturday and the wait time was about 30 minutes. The dining area was smaller than I expected, I could tell they were short-started but the waitresses were very attentive. For my appetizer, I had their freshly made onion dip that came with their homemade chips, which was great. My entree was their fried chicken and it was honestly some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I also had their biscuits which come with this honey butter. The biscuits were amazing, but the honey butter really took them to the next level. I’m not a huge biscuit fan, but they were great. Guernseys is also famous for their beverages, including their chocolate milk and their lemonade, which happens to be the official lemonade of Mackinac Island. Both were great! The menu isn’t huge, but there’s definitely something for everyone. Appetizers, chicken, sandwiches, burgers and more. When you’re done eating, be sure to check out the dairy store for your ice cream and beverages to take home. I recommend the lemon custard. Amazing!

It had been years since I last visited Guernsey Farms Dairy. I did not expect to see Detroit Style Pizza on the menu alongside their mainstays like fried chicken and French onion dip. The pizza was excellent. The crust was slightly sweet, dense, chewy, & had a good crunch, then there was spicy sauce & old style pepperoni with lots of cheese on top. Nashville Hot Chicken was perfectly cooked but if you like spicy, ask for extra hot. Their base version is pretty much mild. The biscuits are brilliant with lots of buttery, flaky layers. Start your meal with fried dill pickle chips & French onion dip with homemade chips. Service was wonderful too.

Google
While I was not happy that a single chicken thigh cost 5 dollars at the newly renovated Guernsey, I have to admit it was delicious. I also had a side of sweet potato fries for just under 4 dollars. The pic below represents my 12 dollar meal (includes 3 dollar tip). I used to frequent the restaurant when salad, roll, and a scoop of ice cream were included, so these new prices were a big shock to me. I can say that I won't be back simply because I can get a lot more food for that money elsewhere.

Google
Every time I've been here, the staff has been amazing and kind. We will continue to buy all our milk and ice cream from here; it's to die for. The chocolate milk has to be the best I've ever had. And the prices are great! Hope to come back soon to try eating in the restaurant!

Google
One of the BEST ice cream places I’ve ever been to. It’s soooo creamy, almost as if it’s frozen custard and the texture is amazing. I’ve only tried 3 flavors so far and my favorite is definitely key lime pie!

Yelp
This place is nostalgic and it takes you back in time. They have a great restaurant area with a full bar, filled with great decor and pictures of their ice cream (which obviously is delicious ) The food came out quickly, was hot, and yummy! We had the fried pickles which had this amazing "secret sauce". They came out hot and crispy with a light batter. We also had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was tender and juicy but was lacking on the heat The grinder wat top notch, two people at our table order this and they loved it. Lastly the Mac n' Cheese was everything you want in a bite. Hot, creamy, cheesy, and a mouthful of golden goodness!

Yelp
I got Maguire's Irish mint and a salted espresso. The Irish mint was, well, mint! that's some of the tastiest mint ice cream I've had in a while. It's mixed in with fudge and was tasty every bite. The espresso was forgettable and average, but that mint? 5 . The waffle cone was a little soft. Maybe old? It didn't quite have the crunch I wanted it to have. Service was kind and speedy. Nice picnic tables to eat outside on a hot day. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
Took my elderly mom for dinner tonight, apparently a lot of "seniors" like to meet up here. Not an issue, I think it's cute. Anyway, mom had 2 pieces of dark meat buttermilk chicken and mashed potatoes. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and fries. Mom loved her chicken and was very happy with her choice. My sandwich was also good and the seasoned fries were amazing! Our server was very attentive and very polite. Mom decided to get ice cream in a cup for the ride home ( I don't eat ice cream, so none for me). She got 2 scoops. Butter pecan and coffee. Those 2 scoops were huge, like a whole pint of ice cream! We get in the car and she starts eating. She states it's really good ice cream! Very creamy and really good flavor! It must have been good because she finished those 2 huge scoops in about 15 minutes! I guess we will be going back again!

Yelp
Think I may have written a review of Guernsey several years ago. We got takeout: chicken thighs, salad and special potatoes. The broasted chicken was good and juicy. The salad was mostly lettuce and the dressing on the side was inadequate. Had to add dressing from home to minimally cover the salad. The special potatoes were just OK. The shock was the price which appears to be near double what it was a few years ago.

Yelp
I hadn't been back to Guernsey Farms since their remodel several years ago. Before the remodel, I was not impressed. But I'm happy to say I like what they've done with it and will definitely be back. My family and I weren't terribly hungry so we decided to split a 4-piece chicken dinner $for $19. The 4-piece dinner came with two sides, we opted for the mac and cheese and house made chips and we added a serving of French onion dip for the chips for $2. Everything was good. I thought the mac and cheese was particularly exceptional and plenty ample for splitting between three people. The house chips were a nice sized serving too as was the French onion dip for $2. My only criticism of the food was that the onion dip needed a bit more flavor. I like the redesign, it's much more attractive and modern. Service was excellent. I would give it five stars if not for the water. One thing I despised about Guernsey Farms before and still do is the water - it tastes horrible. I'm not sure if it's well water or what, but they desperately need to do something about it. Until they do, I implore you to order something that doesn't use their water - their excellent chocolate milk or lemonade are good options.

Stacia G.

Yelp
Bright and welcoming. To your left is all ice cream service with many flavors to eat right there. And there are also ice cream for sale to take home - gallons etc - milk- all that. We went to the right. Bar and dining are that way. We grabbed a beer and a bite. My companion had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. He loved the Mac and cheese and the chicken was good- not overly spicy. I had the Philly without the cheese and still amazing with grilled onions and peppers . Great little spot if you're in the area. Obviously if you're a dairy and ice cream person - this is the place for you.

Yelp
I was at the Guernsey inside Comerica Park. An employee screamed "get your bitch ass out from the door" at another employee. Then they laughed while they ignored the customers waiting. Then she screamed "get back here ho" as the guy walked away. No care in the world that there were kids in front of the counter. This place was a disaster.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent very good value Hubby had the gumption and he clean his plate it was that good

Lauren C.

Yelp
Mikala was our server and she was amazing! The food was good ice cream was amazing but the service from that young lady made us want to come back again!!!

Zehra F.

Yelp
This is a Novi staple. You can stop by for a quick bite or for some ice cream and you will be amazed at your options! Most people know that this farm supplies ice cream to a lot of restaurants in the area and are family owned. I absolutely love their ice cream flavors and there are so many to choose from. My favorite is the midnight train to traverse - such chocolatey goodness.

Cory C.

Yelp
I've gone to Guernsey since I was a kid, and for me, it used to be 3 stars at best - their broasted chicken was too salty, their food was just mediocre overall, and the atmosphere/decor were really dated. However, they have remodeled and revamped the whole place! The food quality is much better and I love the atmosphere of the dining area. It's modern, yet stays true to its heritage with many pictures of its history and the people who worked there. I will say, it's quite a bit pricier than it was before, but I think it's worth it. The buttermilk chicken thighs I ordered had crunchy skin on the outside without being too greasy, and juicy and flavorful meat on the inside. The whipped potatoes were fresh and buttery, and the gravy had a rich chicken flavor to it. I tried my friend's biscuits and could tell they're homemade. They had a nice crust on the outside, but the inside was pillowy soft. The honey on the outside was a nice touch. As for the ice cream, they have many delicious, unique flavors. You'd be hard-pressed to find better ice cream in Michigan! My friend's lemon custard was the best: light and refreshing, with just the right amount of lemon flavor. The peach pie was also good - it had chunks of pie crust and a generous amount of peach streaked throughout. Unfortunately, I ordered cherry amaretto too, but instead just got 2 scoops of peach pie (it was to go, so I didn't know until I opened it up). I will have to try that another time. I highly recommend this place and can't wait until I can go back!

Sierra B.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food has always been mediocre, nothing to rave about. The best thing I've had was the chicken pot pie. That's just too bad because their ice cream is the best I've ever had. I mean that stuff super delicious! Hands down, not too many ppl will be able to compete with them on that. I've had lots of different flavors and they all were so good. Omgosh I can't rave enough about their ice cream. I absolutely love it! They do sell it in some Meijer grocery stores just in case you can't make it to the restaurant in Northville. The customer service has always been good so kudos for having a great staff.

M K.

Yelp
I can't believe I have lived here my whole life and just tried this place within the last year or two. It's soooooo good. The fried chicken, biscuits, Mac n cheese, everything.... Sooo good!!!!! We have been 5 or 6 times w the kids. Yummy every time!!!!

Christopher J.

Yelp
We love this place. Small hometown atmosphere. Smaller menu but flavorful and fresh food. And for dessert- we'll say no more head over to the ice cream counter!

Yelp
Before the Monster Truckz show at Suburban Collection Showcase - the less said the better - we and friends dined at Guernsey Farms Dairy. They beat us to the destination and ordered before us but we quickly caught up. The wife and I had water while the lils overindulged in lemonade. I also ordered the housemade chips and French onion dip as an appetizer. This would prove to be a mistake. The chips lacked crispness; indeed they were soggy. And the dip was disappointing too. Fortunately, this was the low mark of the meal and things improved from there. Daughter had the kid's grilled cheese and pickles side. She was warned that the pickles were spiced with Jalapeño. We both tried them and they did have some heat, but not more than an 8 year old could tolerate. She devoured them quickly. The boy had the kid's burger, but he ended up eating a good bit of his friend's chicken before his burger arrived. Between, the lemonade, chicken and Mac and cheese side he filled up before the burger. My wife had the pizza which was a close facsimile of Buddy's. Very good. She offered pieces to the rest of us and enjoyed a respectable side salad too. I had a single buttermilk chicken breast. It was quite good and served very hot. The side was the butter whipped mashed potatoes with chicken gravy which was also quite nice. The kids finished with chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and cotton candy ice cream. I liked the CFB, but not the cotton candy. But everyone else had no issues with the cotton candy. I skipped the ice cream but would have enjoyed many of their 41 flavors. After a battle over the bill with our friends we were off. Service was quite good. 3.75 rounds to 4.

Yashaswita B.

Yelp
Always the best icecream! My favourite flavour in summers is the Orange Pineapple. They should really do something about the parking situation though!

Marielle C.

Yelp
This place is iconic for a reason. Came here with my partner. We tried a ton of flavors and all of them were delicious. I got a baby size and I thought that was the perfect serving for me. He got a waffle cone which was massive. Both were very fairly price would come back.

Carol K.

Yelp
Talk about a place that has stood the test of time! My dad used to take us here when we were little kids. It was always a treat and I couldn't wait to get whatever special ice cream they had that day. Fast forward 40 years and I stopped in yesterday with my elderly mom to get her favorite ice cream cone (butter pecan). I don't know if it was the nostalgia of the place, or the perfect Fall day or just spending time with mom but I think this was some of the best ice cream I have had in awhile! They have added more parking, the interior looks remodeled from what I remembered and the service was still spot on! Stop in for their homestyle classic menu, or just for an ice cream treat. You won't be disappointed! (no pics cuz the ice cream disappeared just that quickly!)

Yelp
Rating purely as a ice cream/dairy store, this local family run business makes high quality great tasting dairy products where this business has been around for three generations since 1940 crafting their trade. The Ice cream is a premium product with a great selection to choose from made from their own dairy products. I believe there are over 60 flavors to choose from with I believe 48 different flavors available in store at any time to sample/buy. Relative to their different milks, we are a big fan of their 2% skim, buttermilk and chocolate milks which we buy on a weekly basis. Much better than the other corporate large producers that you typically see in the chain grocery stores. On this particular day which was my first visit at their Northville facility, we stopped in to finally see their main store and to buy some milk along with getting some of their 1.5L quarts of ice cream to go. The folks behind the counter were so friendly and patient as I viewed their many flavors to choose from, sampling several, which are free at this store, finally settling on the Peppermint Stick and Coffee Mocha Chip ice cream. These ice creams are very fresh, very creamy and oh so good. On top of the to go dairy products I also ended up purchasing a waffle cone with peppermint stick and was really surprised and pleased to see that the waffle cones are made fresh on site right in front of you on a waffle iron while you wait. Wow this was a first for me and it added so much more to the experience seeing and smelling the waffle cone as it is made and then putting the ice cream scoop inside the still warm cone. The texture/aroma/taste of the still warm waffle cone took this treat over the top in my opinion and definately makes this worth the trip alone for their waffle cones. Overall I left a bigger fan than I I already was of this brand and definately will be returning in the near future with my grandkids as they will absolutely get a kick out of the waffle cone operation. Additionally as this is a local business with a great product it is definately worthy of your support. Five stars in my book!

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Wow. This restaurant is so pretty and clean too! You could probably eat off the floor. The staff was very considerate, welcoming , and made sure I was well taken care of. Then, there's the food. I had the chicken breast, it was so good it made my tongue come out of my mouth and slap my lips silly. I did not waste a crumb. Mashed potato and gravy was so delicate and delicious I almost licked the bowl. And honey butter biscuits, are you kidding me? Just wow so good. I will be back! I didn't have enough room to try the ice cream but it smelled so good

A W.

Yelp
My great grandparents ate lunch here every day. This 80 year old historical restaurant and ice cream parlor will not disappoint! The menu is exciting and the food is delicious! The ice cream is very good too!

Sandie Y.

Yelp
Went to dinner for a family gathering. We were a party of 10 - but they don't do reservations or call ahead - and it seemed that they weren't ready for us. Perhaps for large parties, they should take reservations. Our server was good and double checked the orders - nothing was mixed up. We also got ice cream after too! How does someone skip that part?

Nicole E.

Yelp
It's bigger than I had imagined. It's definitely a destination spot. The tour of the D bus is even here. They have the dining side and the ice cream parlor side. There's counter stools and wall bench and a couple of seats and tables too. The place is bustling and it's barely 5pm. 2 scoops of Maguire's mint chip ice cream is $4.77. We also tried their chocolate chip cookies, since they looked nice and chewy. Each cookie is $1 each. The cookie wasn't too bad. The waffle cones are made fresh. The mint chip was yummy as expected. The chocolate cup pieces and small bites of chocolate brownie bits too.

Dean S.

Yelp
Creamiest Ice Cream I've ever had. Favorites are butter pecan, and French vanilla. Best in their categories. Oh yeah, and anything that has chocolate in it. By far the best ice cream I've ever had.

L M.

Yelp
A dirty blonde haired girl with an enormous FU attitude glared at us tonight as we ordered ice cream. There were only 3 people in line so it wasn't busy. We politely asked about one new ice cream flavor and she couldn't have been ruder if she tried. She was condesending and overtly annoyed at interacting with customers. She should have had "go away and f off" written across her forhead. What a horrible horrible person they have interacting with the public. In my opinion you should stay away from this poor service place.

Emmanuel C.

Yelp
As a 20 resident of Novi, I've gone to Guernsey's many times for their delicious ice cream and have never been disappointed. However I never ate in the restaurant. That changed last night when we went there for dinner. The dining room, while modest in size, was inviting and vibrant. The service was polite and attentive. We ate the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with seasoned curly fries along with the Detroit Style pepperoni pizza. They were both absolutely delicious. The chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful. The deep dish pizza was very tasty with a crunchy crust that was surprisingly light. Of course we went home with a half gallon of Mackinac Fudge ice cream. Whether you're in the mood for ice cream or dinner you cannot go wrong choosing Guernsey's.

Ronald S.

Yelp
A NEW!! Favorite. We have not been to this restaurant since the updates were made. Although I am a traditionalist, I must admit that they have made the place truly outstanding. The menu is still excellent and simple, but the furnishings are more upscale, there is a bar, and there is a good old-fashioned ice cream section that is two or three times as big as it used to be. We had excellent food, and it was fun getting ice cream like the old days. A perfect blend of modern and old.

Dan C.

Yelp
Old school family restaurant and ice cream parlor. Bring the kids and grandparents! Local landmark.

Jt M.

Yelp
My friend and I met for lunch here this week. I hadn't been here since the remodel. The place seems smaller but less than the diner feel it had before. I ordered the Grinder which was delicious. The potato wedges on the side were nothing special; just four pieces of potato. My friend had the Chicken Biscuit. It was good and filling, she said. It is definitely more of a lunch portion size. The only complaint we had was the water; it is "well water" so had a somewhat salty taste. Overall we had a pleasant experience and will visit again!

Dan B.

Yelp
The best ice cream ever. And their buttermilk chicken is a must! Love the Guernsey restaurant.

Shari I.

Yelp
Go to the bar and see Mikala, she made this first time so memorable. I can't wait to come back. She did not miss a beat. The drinks were never empty. The good was outstanding and everything tasted home made. Make sure you come here.

Yelp
Seven years later so it's time to update this review! Guernsey is one of my all-time favorites in the area for ice cream; the only other place that's comparable is Browndog, in Northville. Tonight some friends and I got takeout so this review will focus on that. We got the 8 piece fried chicken, which comes with four sides; we ordered curly fries, mashed potatoes, braised mushrooms, and biscuits. The chicken was good for this area. Guernsey used to serve broasted chicken but they rebranded this year for their 80th anniversary and now they serve fried chicken, along with some new stuff like boozy milkshakes. Out of the sides, the biscuits and mushrooms were my favorite; the mushrooms tasted like they were in a garlic and wine sauce. I also got a Cookies & Cream 1.5 quart for the road ($5.45, I believe) and a single scoop of their vegan butter pecan to have after dinner. Pro tip: their "single scoop" is HUGE, so that's usually what I order. I would say Guernsey gets 4/5 from me in terms of their savory menu (fried chicken, etc.) but like a 6/5 from me for the ice cream, always. Just wish I lived closer to it!

Aubrey L.

Yelp
The whole place is super cute, smells amazing. It's a little small but adds to the ambiance. The food was actually very tasty, the Mac and cheese, chicken sandwich, fried chicken, pretzel bites and more. No complaints. We got ice cream for dessert and every flavor was amazing. My only issue was the service, or lack there of. Our server was super sweet but it looked like she was the only one for 6-8 tables. Took about 2.5 hours on a Thursday. We were seated right away but our food took 45 minutes. I truly think it was a staffing issue but a bit discouraging for a quick weeknight dinner.

Joe C.

Yelp
Arrived at 4:07 in the afternoon and waited about 6 minutes for a table while they cleaned them up. Not too bad. Order placed at 4:16. Food arrived at 4:50 Started with the pretzel bites and beer cheese ($7). They are the same pretzel bites you can purchase at Busch's for $4.99 in a large plastic container...and get three times as many. Beer cheese was a bit texturally granular and wasn't smooth, as if they didn't emulsify it enough. 1 out of 5 stars. Would avoid/not worth the $. Biscuits and honey butter, BIG recommend. House-made buttermilk biscuits, and they're swimming in locally sourced honey and house-made butter. Worth the $3.25 on the side menu. And you get 3 large biscuits. Potato wedges and sour cream, tasty as well. Four large wedges with a side of sour cream. Breasted wedges. Seasoned nicely. $3.25, side menu. Applesauce? Delicious but the serving size doesn't constitute a $3.25 price tag. More like $1.99. Steak hoagie: awesome. Tender meat, lots of it, and I picked Mac and Cheese as the side. Well blended cheese with a crispy top, could use some pepper or seasoning. Cheese sauce was NOT the same as the pretzels, so have no fear. All in all, service was awesome, waitstaff was nice, and the experience was good. Four stars (would have been five, but the first waiting period, the beer cheese and pretzels, the Applesauce and the 34 minute wait lost one star.). Not bad in my book. Will try the ice cream some other time, but I hear it's fabulous.

Tamer A.

Yelp
If you wanna feel like you're at a nice cozy place with great food, drinks and service, this is the one!

Andrea E.

Yelp
Guernsey is nice. I love how it feels like a family farm restaurant - all the pictures on the wall remind me of my grandparents and a bygone era that is insta-nostalgic. They have the names of the cows on the wall and it's cute. The food was excellent, but my favorite thing was the pickles. They are absolutely perfect. Crunchy, dilly, a little spicy... they taste like they probably come from a recipe that's been passed down for many years and I love them. I haven't even been over to the ice cream side yet... I saw a lot of wonderful creations coming out of the kitchen though, and I will definitely need to go back.

Emmet M.

Yelp
Have been there twice since the remodel a few years ago. The chicken is fantastic as well as the Detroit style pizza and chicken wings (garlic parm and bang bang sauce) hands down the best chocolate milk and ice cream around. I've heard the Pulled pork sliders are amazing as well, that will be next time! Service was in point, friendly, polite and helpful and the restaurant is really nice on the inside. They also serve beer (I think a full bar, not sure in that one)

Gregory S.

Yelp
Had dinner at the restaurant today. Anna was our waitress and was perfect. Service was great, excellent personally with a sense of humor . Kyle talked to us from the kitchen and checked on us. The food was excellent , we had a Ruben and roast beef sandwiches , with side of mushrooms and sweet potato fries. Portions were large , very tasty , and hot when they got to the table. Everything is cooked from scratch, great value for dinner. Greg

Jasmine H.

Yelp
Place is a nice place to take your kids. They enjoyed it a lot. Chicken was good and they have plenty of ice cream to choose from. I would come again on a nice sunny day. Just beware if you order chicken it takes a min for it to come out.

George A.

Yelp
The food was ok. The service was somewhat slow. They charge extra for butter for your biscuit? Like I said, decent food, nothing to write home about. That said, the ice cream was fire. It's the best

Corey H.

Yelp
My first time at this place. I pass it twice and week and decided to give her a go. I've heard about their ice cream and it's massive selection, and I was excited to try it out. The food was actually pretty good. My chicken was moist and had good flavor. We also tried the Broasted chicken (not pictured) it was also pretty good. I would have liked it to be bit more crispy but it wasn't bad and it too was flavorful. But just not good enough for me to purposely return again for it. Sals was great and the service was ok. Service seemed a little forced and could have been more attentive. The food overall was really and good and we left very full, so we only ordered one ice cream to share and try out. We got the cookies and cream. It was good but based off it being a dairy I guess I had a little bit loftier expectations, however it was good but nothing above what I've had at other places.

Elina D.

Yelp
This place used to be a four star for me, but I now rated it to a one star with my experience there today. I took my 2 year old for ice cream and I was waiting in line to order. The employee completely skipped me and went to a larger group. No problem, it can happen. I said, "oh I was next"and she apologized and took my order. A few minutes later I went up to the counter and asked for a cup of tap water for my two year old. The girl smiled and said' "I'll get it for you as soon as I'm done scooping." I waited at least five minutes and she kept helping others in line, she probably forgot. Once again, no problem it happens. So I asked another girl who was nearby and she said it would be 50 cents. I said I don't have cash and it was a tap of water in a paper cup. I just said ok and left. Who denies a little boy a cup of water? We did order ice cream and it's a restaurant, they can easily give a guest a cup of water. If we didn't order anything, sure I would understand. But we did place an order! It's about the principle, not 50 cents.

Yelp
I got much love for Guernsey!!! Their new renovations are beautiful and this place looks as modern and revived as ever. However with expensive upgrades come sacrifices. This is a story of two reviews, Guernsey before COVID-19, and Guernsey now. Actually three reviews, if you count the ice cream parlor separately. Guernsey's ice cream and chocolate milk? 5 STARS. The seemingly endless choices in 4 completely filled ice cream freezers will give you ice cream for thought before you decide on which ones to get. Sample away my friend! The scoopers are extremely helpful and patient despite a bustling crowd. Gotta try the Grandpa's Blueberry Way and Superman for sure! The biggest downgrade? The restaurant by far, to my chagrin. Though aesthetically pleasing with a brand new full service bar and gastropub vibes, it's the menu that takes a serious hit. Pre-pandemic, this place was one of my favorite diners in the area. Their burgers especially the patty melt were on point. They had numerous seafood options including salmon and shrimp. AND THEIR FRIED CHICKEN WAS AMAZING! $9 for 7 whole wings and two sides? This was my go-to meal! Sadly, COVID-19 has ravaged their menu. What used to be a full spread of options, has been trimmed down to a one-sided placemat. Long gone are the patty melt, handhelds, and seafood options. And to my dismay, long gone is the excellent fried chicken and combo meals of yesteryear. $9 for 7 WHOLE WINGS AND TWO SIDES became $12 for 6 whole wings and no sides? With two sides it would be $18.50? The chicken was undercooked and without a crispy crunch which shocked me. No longer will I be getting the fried chicken, which leaves the the menu quite barren for my taste. I still got much love for Guernsey, but downgraded their overall score to a 4; 5 stars before the pandemic and 3 stars during the pandemic.

Yelp
First off the scoops are HUGE. For the price it was super big scoop which I love. There were so many diverse flavors too. The ice cream is super creamy but a little hardish. I also went to the restaurant and the food was good too. The chicken tenders were not dry and the fries were good. Overall, the place is super cute and has great ice cream. Would definitely recommend coming here for some original flavors.

Yelp
A lot of tasty flavors available with huuuge scoops. You can also have them pack a pint of your favorite flavor. There is a good looking diner here as well.

Yelp
Went to Guernsey for lunch with my toddler. Service was quick and food was great. I love that since it's Guernsey they have great milk for the kiddo. She had their Mac and cheese, I had the broasted cod and both were great. The cod was a lot of food for lunch but it was still delicious. Obviously we had a baby scoop to share at the end!

Yelp
I ordered the Antipasto salad, and thought it tasty. The $12 large salad wasn't terribly large. I would order it again. My husband tried the spicy version of the buttermilk chicken. He liked it, but thought it too expensive. I tried some and really disliked the flavor. The hot sauce had an almost muddy flavor, like there was too much paprika in it.
