After a shindig at the Beverly Theater, figured it was a good opportunity to check out Guerilla Pizza Company, recently opened in where the short-lived Far Side Pizza used to be, at the base of the Soho Lofts.
Build-Your-Own-Pizza ($15.95) plus
Honey Bacon Topping ($1.35*): Mini pan, traditional Detroit style, which was the only type of pizza made here. Crunchy but airy, blackened-edged buttery tasting crust, completely covered in slightly stretchy cheese, very saucy laid out in the expected double stripe. Each quarter slice had four-five bacon pieces, also edge-blackened like the crust. Loaded and filling. Takeaway pretty decent reheated.
Also, Fountain Drink ($3.45). Free refills.
Value: Pizza price, for good or ill, seems to align with other Downtown joints selling Detroit style.
*I did not appear to be charged for the topping add-on.
Atmosphere: Bare bones. A mounted TV faces the smallish seating area. The company logo looms large on the back wall. The Campbell's Soup pillar remains.
Service: Very pleasant from John(?) manning the order station; he and the unnamed lady also circulated the floor checking on guest experiences.
