The Best Crawfish Restaurants in Houston

"This boisterous Cajun restaurant is home to some of the most authentic Louisianan-inspired crawfish boils and cuisine in town. The crawfish is market-priced and always worthy of an upgrade with all the perfect conduits like corn, snow crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and mushrooms. On weekends, there’s live music and a full bar, and don’t be shy to check out its Cajun classics like gumbo and stuffed pistolette." - Brittany Britto Garley

Where to Get Crawfish in Houston This Season

"Guidry’s is serious about its crawfish, but its got lots of options worth exploring. Go for the Guidry’s Special, which includes a pound of crawfish, a pound of shrimp, half-pound of sausage, corn on the cob, and a potato for $65. Take advantage of drink specials, and don’t sleep on Cajun specialties like creamy crawfish dip, fried alligator, and stuffed catfish." - Brittany Britto Garley, Brittany Britto Garley

Guidry’s has the best crawfish 🦞 around (according to hubby)! The fried pickles 🥒 are the best I’ve ever eaten. Nice and thick! I myself had the Cobb salad 🥗 with fried chicken 🍗 pieces and it was pretty good. 10/10 recommend Guidry’s.

This was another one on the list of must try Crawfish spots in town. Guidry's did not disappoint. It was packed on our visit, definitely a local favorite / hot spot! Rather than wait for a table we sat at the bar and received service very quickly. The food came out just as fast as we ordered it. The Crawfish is a must try! Great flavor, spice, and heat. Spicy or Double spicy would be perfect for most new comers. Down side the vegetables aren't boiled in the same seasoning. The fried mushrooms were another great addition we enjoyed. The batter has a nice seasoning, with a good flavor. If you're looking for a new Cajun flavored crawfish spot to try, definitely make this restaurant a stop. Note: Should you visit on the weekend, it could be very busy. We had to park across the street as the lot was full.

Google
Well worth the wait of over an hour to be seated! Friday night with live music was fantastic!! Oysters and Crawfish were fabulous!!! Bartender took great care of us sitting at the bar!!!! Plus I received a Military Discount!!!!! ☆☆☆☆☆

Google
The food is always amazing, we always get the cheese pull boudin balls and jalepeno chips as an appetizer then get the crab and crawfish with 3X spice…PHENOMENAL….the staff is very welcoming and always on top of their game when it comes to customer service. We have been here when it’s busy and when a little slower, always top tier. We love sitting outside and usually are waited on by the amazing Ukrainian traveling server. Dude is quick and attentive. If you’re craving seafood this place will knock your socks off. Thank yall for the amazing service

Google
Excellent food, excellent service!!! 10/10 worth the short Sunday night wait for this top notch cajun place. Was in town for softball tournament and will 100% come back to town just for Guidry's. I had crawfish, wife had stuffed shrimp, all was top notch!! Kudos to the staff and managers in charge!!

Google
Crawfish where okay...softshell blue crab was awesome. That gumbo tho it's trash..11 dollars for a bowl of juice..Im from Louisiana I aint having that.I also bought two gumbos and look what was under the juice.Im about to put them together. The sad part is it has a great taste to it.

Google
Amazing crawfish. They were huge! We ended up getting the 1X spice level and it was really good. We will DEFINITELY be coming back! The gumbo was the best that I've had in the area.

Google
Horrible experience. Their service is atrocious. 3 tables got there after I did & got their appetizers & actual food before we did. We had to tell them to cancel our fries bc they finally decided to bring them an hour later, when we were already almost done with our food. Make it make sense. We also got our catfish bites a little after we got our actual food. It's supposed to be a STARTER. We probably never would've got them if we didn't say anything. Next let's move on to the food. Also horrible. No flavor or seasoning, just spice. This more like YT people seafood (no offense to anyone) but I would save my money on boiled seafood here. However the catfish bites, po boy & their drinks were good. If you look at this picture & think this looks appetizing, you don't know good crawfish/seafood.

Yelp
Great location and servers are really nice. Th wait time for food is unreal though. Myself and 2 guest came in for 11 no lunch crowd at all and it took 40 mins to get our food. The service by our waiter made up for the kitchen's error. But let's just to the real reason why you're here. The food surprisingly was good! I ordered the stuffed mushroom and fried pickles for an appetizer and was pretty amazed at the freshness and flavor off each of those. My main dish ordered was the blackened jumbo shrimp and they were succulent and flavorful. My overall experience was good I can't give 5 stars though based on my wait but yall really make it worth it for the food. Happy helping!

Cami S.

Yelp
amazing food! especially during happy hour!! my first time coming I had great service & amazing food. I ordered the boiled shrimp in spicy sauce and fried catfish tacos :)

Yelp
First time here and came because I saw it on Houston Life. Our server was Jarod and he was so awesome!! He was honest about what to order and what not to order. I really appreciated his honesty. The atmosphere is like you're at a family BBQ. I came for the crawfish and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered spicy and that it was, but the perfect level of spice. You gotta get the stuffed boudin jalapeños. Everyone that was working seemed to love being at work. They were very hospitable. We will most definitely be back!

Yelp
I love this place. Food is good and the decor reminds me of a bayou shack...transports me to LA. And the people are great, staff & customers alike. It's my new favorite place to go hang out. I just wish I lived closer so I don't have to drive there. Crawfish boil is yummy. I have added shrimp to the boil as well. At other places, when I do, either the shrimp or the crawfish end up too tough. Not here. The oyster poboy is yummy...just wish it had more oysters in it. Fried pickles & mushrooms are tasty. Gumbo takes me back to NOLA. And you can't beat happy hour. Just go. It's a little piece of Louisiana right here in Texas.

Yelp
This is my first, and probably last, visit to Guidrys for crawfish this year. At $15/lb, crawfish better be good and these were not bad. The main reason for this review is the fact that they charge for spice. Apparently, any spice level higher than "X" costs extra. I normally get the spiciest that they have which is "DD" and to my surprise when I got my ticket, they charged $2/lb for that spice. I ended up paying $6 for spice! The menus don't say anything about charging extra for FLAVOR!!! Even if the menus were accurate, it's still mind-blowing to me that you have to pay extra for FLAVOR on top of $15/lb! As a side note, the CHAIRS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE! I'm an averaged sized male and it's STILL uncomfortable squeezing my ass into those awkward chairs!!! I can't imagine how uncomfortable it is for anybody even slightly larger than myself!

Yelp
This place doesn't disappoint. This is my second visit here and we enjoyed everything, yet again. Great food, Great drinks and Zydeco music playing throughout the establishment reminds me of home. Customer Service outstanding! I definitely recommend Guidry's if you want authentic Louisiana cuisine!!

Kevin K.

Yelp
Pretty good Cajun food, sometimes run out of certain items. Sometimes service is good, sometimes just ok. I keep coming back so it's not that bad. Tonight, Caleb hit it out of the park! Definitely try the stuffed flounder and fried zucchini.
google avatar

Daniela R.

Yelp
Really great crawfish! i have also gotten their buffalo shrimp - i believe it was- and that was good. Very chill, relaxed atmosphere, love the outdoor seating. Its a good little spot in Deer park.
google avatar

Krystella Z.

Yelp
When I want Cajun seafood, we come here. The guidry's special has it all. We get the spice level at 1x and it's hot but just how we like it. My kids love their tender/ corn dog and fries. Overall cool hangout spot to have seafood. Service is okay they are a busy spot.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Food and service was fabulous!! Would give it a five except the chairs were soooooo uncomfortable! We might would've stayed a little longer if it had been more comfy! Will definitely go back or order take out! Oh we had the boiled shrimp and crawfish dip with pork skins and catfish bites!! Sooo good!
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Wow this place might actually have it all! Outside patio inside bar fantastic food if you're looking for some good fried shrimp and gumbo look no further! oh my goodness!!!

Yelp
A local favorite and I can see why. Great atmosphere, delicious authentic Cajun food, great little happy hour. Cool spot to watch the games and family friendly too.

Yelp
Came here with some work friends to grab dinner after all day meetings and what a great place that's been here for so long I continue to enjoy. Down to Earth Cajun restaurant with everything from hearty Cajun spicy dishes two ribeye steaks or T-bones that are out of this world. The atmosphere was great the service was fantastic but the food had all the right flavors and mixed from light to spicy and I had a crab stuffed redfish with vegetables and a little less cream sauce which was perfect and hit the spot well. We had seven of us and got seated pretty quick and again the service was spot on kept us full of cold beer and gave the right recommendations on what we were all looking for. For a Cajun fix in the Deer Park area this is a classic you have to try

Yelp
If you from the south, this ain't it. No flavor. Seafood gumbo taste like the bottom of the pot burnt. Just go have drinks only. Good people just need better cooks

Mark C.

Yelp
Anybody giving this place a favorable rating, doesn't know their ass from second base about seafood. The food is terrible, service also terrible, prices higher than a cat's back.
google avatar

Yessica R.

Yelp
I love it here, best crawfish. A place to bring your family and indulge. Crawfish always taste good and fresh, I will not eat crawfish any where else.

Yelp
Came here on lunch time and it was a very nice experience. The bartenders were very kind and attentive. The ambiance was a very nice one as well, it felt welcoming and warm, overall it was very nice inside. For the food, they have a big selection of food on the menu, but I had 1lb of spicy boiled shrimp with some potatoes and corn. I had a side of French fries and a bowl of the shrimp boil. These were some of the spiciest shrimp I have ever tasted but in a very good way! I really like spicy food, the spicier the better, but this could be TOO spicy for someone who can't handle spicy food. Shrimp was cooked well and had a very nice taste to them. The only problem I had was that the serving for a side of French fries was VERY small. TOO SMALL and that's what made me take 1 star off the review, it was just not worth the money, but they were so tasty!!! If you're looking for good food, and a nice atmosphere with kind workers. This is the place to be! 9/10

Yelp
Recently went and like always Crawfish is their thing yumm !!! Drinks were nice and cold and service was decent!
google avatar

Brad W.

Yelp
Yes they have live crawfish absolutely no flavor and just about the worst service I've ever had.. ask for Sara she was not my server but she was kicking ass around us.
google avatar

Mariah K.

Yelp
This place certainly lived up to all the hype. It's a little early for crawfish but the sizes I got were decent and they were easy to peel, which made the experience that much more enjoyable! The spice was really good as well, not too brutal in my opinion. They do offer different levels of spice. They also have fried items on the menu as well as burgers, and other boiled seafood. The sides such as corn, potatoes, mushrooms are additional. This place definitely has a lot more of a bar vibe than an actual restaurant but you can tell that they have a lot of regulars, which is nice to see, it makes it feel welcoming and "homey". It seems like it does always get busy here, but I feel like the staff handles it very well and keeps the communication with the clients. Overall, I had a great experience and am more than happy to go back!

Yelp
Not a fan, heard so much about this place and it's down the street we finally gave it a try and it was our first and last time there. It's definitely not what it's hyped up to be. To be honest it feels like a cult in there. Everyone there knows each other and the workers were off, giving us strange looks and the food was not good like at all. The fried food tastes like it was all fried together in old grease. Swamp shack is way better.

Yelp
Stellar Sides, Generous Portions, Room to Improve on Main Dishes When considering catering options in Deer Park, Texas, Guidry's Cajun Kitchen is a name you'll likely come across. We recently ordered their Family Platter for a work event. While the experience had its highlights, there were also areas that could use a bit of tweaking. The Family Platter features a generous serving of fried shrimp and fried catfish. The shrimp were nicely cooked, providing a satisfying crunch and reasonable flavor. However, the catfish left something to be desired in terms of seasoning, delivering a somewhat underwhelming taste despite its good texture. "Family Platter" is certainly an apt name when it comes to the amount of food offered. The quantity was impressive, and it comfortably fed our large group, though the overall quality of the main dishes received mixed reviews. Guidry's gets full marks for the freshness of their seafood. Each bite tasted fresh, which is a definite advantage. However, the flavor balance of the seafood could do with some adjustments to truly impress. The sides were where Guidry's really shine. The coleslaw was a well-executed balance of creamy and crunchy, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the fried seafood. The dirty rice was flavorful and spicy, just as we had hoped. The hush puppies were a crowd favorite, light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The customer service at Guidry's was commendable. The lady behind the counter was pleasant and assured us that all the food trays were indeed for us. It was indeed a lot of food, and we appreciated the assurance and the friendly service. In conclusion, Guidry's Cajun Kitchen offers a catering service with standout sides and commendable customer service, but there's room for improvement, particularly in the seasoning of the main dishes. The quantity provided is generous, and if they fine-tune their seafood dishes, they could elevate the overall experience. Here's to hoping they take these suggestions on board for future improvement.

Yelp
Great gumbo and great service. I was performing with The Pookie Marceaux Band. The parking lot and restaurant were packed when I arrived and remained that way throughout the night. The wait staff was helpful with my load in and very courteous! The manager hooked me up with some gumbo to go. It smelled so good that I ate half of it in the parking lot before driving home. The patrons were wonderful, singing and dancing and enjoying the performance!

Paola Q.

Yelp
I love recommending guidrys for the cajun experience. The crawfish is always perfectly seasoned and the hot/spicy level is always our go to. Friendly staff and great ambiance!
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
Services is going downhill. Last few times we have been here the service has been terrible. If you're not family or in the "click" it's like you bother them to get another drink or butter with your crawfish and crablegs. We go here all the time because the food is amazing. Sadly I've had to watch my bank statements and start taking pictures of my receipts because the bar staff likes to add their own tips after I leave. This has stopped us from going to guidrys as much as we used to. I've added pics to show I'm not a fly by but spend quite a bit at Guidrys.
google avatar

Yelp
Just good ole Cajun cookin. Great mud bugs , low country boil style and cold beer. Doesn't look like much from outside but all the cars ought to tell you how good it is

Yelp
We always make this a priority stop as we come from out of state and have always enjoyed eating here in the past. The food was good tonight. I enjoyed the catfish Poboy and a cup of seafood gumbo. Our server was nice and took care of us when my picky mom had an issue with the boudin link. I didn't pick up her name but she was awesome. The hostess with pink on her hair however was extremely rude and had an attitude from the beginning. We got shirts after we ate and she rolled her eyes at everything we had said. We had to see multiple sizes to make sure what we bought would fit us. I am a server myself and if you don't know how to interact with customers you should find a different line of work. It doesn't add to the experience when the workers act like simply doing their job makes them hate their lives. Would have more stars but that was not a good end to our experience.

Anahlee H.

Yelp
First we waited an hour to get seated when we were told the wait time was we 30mins, but understandable it's busy. But as soon as we sat down the service was ridiculously slow, I understand some restaurants are busy but we waited 15mins for our soft drinks then 30 mins for 3lbs of crawfish. At this point I still haven't received my chicken sandwich once I got it, it was all wrong. Once the waiter finally came over and I told her, she took the plate to the kitchen and brought back my sandwich with the same problem all they did was add lettuce.. when I told her not only when I ordered no mayo but again when I saw it was incorrect. She took it back again, then brought it back again and stated the cook said they couldn't get all the mayo off the sandwich if that was fine. I don't understand this service and I wouldn't come back here. Meanwhile throughout this whole time we had ordered a kids meal of popcorn chicken and still never received it. By this time we canceled the meal. At this point you would think a manager would come and apologize for the inconvenience this caused but nope.
google avatar

Alexis G.

Yelp
Came here only for crawfish. It was alright. Was not informed you were charged by the spice level and never saw it on the menu? So yes your crawfish is $6.99 but if you like them hot it's basically 9.49 a lb because the DD spice is like 2.50 or something?? Not sure how it works exactly our server didn't explain anything/know a lot about the menu it seemed. But overall Crawfish itself had good taste but not worth it to pay for spice, Boudin was amazing though.
google avatar

Tailis R.

Yelp
Absolutely love their crawfish and the service is top notch. You will constantly be checked on by managers and the owner. The queso with pork rinds is amazing. My last visit Edwin did such a great time with our table. During peak season it can get busy. Prices are decent and so are the portions. One of my go to spots for crawfish.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
Their crawfish is the best we've found in Deer Park! Staff is always great and the food is too. 10/10 recommend! They do get busy so go early!

Laura J.

Yelp
I stopped here on my way home with my daughter on a Friday night. It was really busy so we ordered our food to go. We ordered chicken and sausage gumbo and a grilled chicken sandwich. We received seafood gumbo and a raw chicken sandwich. I was glad I had opened the gumbo before we left. I went back in and they gave me the correct gumbo. I gave them 2 stars because my daughter loved the gumbo. I didn't check my sandwich before we left. I bit into my sandwich and it was rubbery. I looked at it when I got home and it was completely raw on the inside. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Corando S.

Yelp
I went back to give them another chance, and to my amazement, the food was fantastic! The crawfish had good flavor and the right spiciness. The fish platters were well done. We ordered appetizers, they were fantastic. I will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
The shrimp& crawfish here is so good!!!! The manager Alan is so kind he cares about the customers that walk in, and makes sure there tooken care of Thank you Alan.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Crawfish in the Greater Houston Area hands down!!! The service was amazing and the new renovations are nice I will definitely be back
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
I had the crab legs and while they were delicious, the wait took forever! About 30 min until we actually got something to drink (this is after we were already seated). Another hour wait for the crab legs. Oh and I was told next time to bring my own crab utensils because they didn't have any. The service was sooooo slow.

Ćõríñá N.

Yelp
Ask for Claudia she's a great server. She works at the bar. I waited about 30 minutes to an hour for my food, but it was actually worth the wait. The food was 10 out of 10 highly recommend
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
We visited for lunch. The hostess didn't even greet us. Just grabbed two menus and started walking off so we assumed we were to follow her. They were out of shrimp brochette so I ordered crab cakes. They took almost 45 minutes to come out. In the meantime they delivered my guests food and it was super cold (prob while waiting on my crab cakes). It was sent back. When both dishes came out, my guests food was good. He had the fried catfish. My crab cakes were a disaster. For $38, I expected way better. Barely ate any of it. Not sure what happened with those but they shouldn't have been served honestly. I may try this place again at some point and order something different but my first experience was not great.

Yelp
Good Food ,music and Especially service Becca and Maddie knock it out of the park. Thank you for a great time

Yelp
Definitely in a part of town that was hit hard by recent storms. This little restaurant has outdoor seating for mixed parties and indoor seating. It was packed so we opted for outdoors to be seated faster. But the service is the same. We were told that there was a long wait on crawfish which wasn't a deal breaker given the amount of people that were coming into the place. We order an appetizer, crawfish etouffee, and fried fish and shrimp basket (combo platter). Crawfish are priced roughly .50 higher then current market depending on what you call market value. As I say if I'm not cooking them and I pay you to the better be good. Did the highest amount of spice. They had actual spice but still commercial spice level. I could taste that they used a lot of the boil extract in the water which was a turnoff to me. Over all seasoning was decent. We had a few in our order that was disembody. But not enough to complain for a reorder. The crawfish actually made it out before our appetizer and food. So there is a long wait on food then crawfish. Avoid the max and cheese it is craft chees from the box and the price for a bowl you can buy two boxes and fix it yourself. The etouffee is okay I don't feel the price is on par, but something if I went back I would recommend to someone else. Our server was good he was busy but sweet and ensured we were taken care of. Over all opinion if you have noticed is stop if you want. It's a local favorite but falls short for me pricing and taste.
google avatar

Susie C.

Yelp
The crawfish here is the BEST!!! and the servers are so nice! Only thing is that one of the two hostess was kinda rude, she was not welcoming she didn't even greet us when we came in and only asked "how many?" like if she was in a hurry and not even with a smile just rude for me, thats why I give only 4 stars. But everything else was pretty nice. WOULD recommend if you guys change the rude blonde long hair hostess from the front for someone nice and welcoming!
google avatar

Carlos M.

Yelp
Food was Ok at best and the prices are ridiculous! I never heard of charging extra for spicier crawfish and it's per pound and says nothing on the menu about it either! Then spices are just thrown on top of the crawfish like extra seasoning TF boil that into the crawfish !They are crazy never going back to this place ! Waitress was good but she forgot to mention the price increase for spicier crawfish been there in the past and had no problems. The place was supposedly updated but I guess everyone else is paying for it except the owners. This place was full of disappointments! No thanks don't recommend to anyone.
google avatar

Russell L.

Yelp
DON'T ORDER THE OYSTERS ON HALF SHELL! Guidrys has many good dishes worth the price they command. OYSTERS are not one of them. I ordered dozen at $15. 7 of them were less than 3 inches shells. Which made the oyster the size of a lime bean. I showed the waitress they were smaller than a folded dollar bill and asked her to talk to the manager for me. She stated well, that's just the size they are.....I'll get your bill. Never got a managers attention.. Paid and left disappointed. When did it become legal to harvest OYSTERS under 3 inches or am I suffering from an urban myth?
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
The food hasn't been good here in 10+ years. I keep giving it a shot every 6 months or so since they're always packed, but they must be there for the atmosphere because the food is not good at all. New Orleans Seafood in LA Porte, and their 2nd location on Center St in Deer Park are both amazing.

Kelly K.

Yelp
5 stars is applicable to the crawfish only in this review. Large size and perfectly seasoned/reasonably priced. Also there is a wash station outside the bathrooms for people just needing to wash their hands from eating crawfish. Genius.
google avatar

Miatta M.

Yelp
I went here, as a recommendation, and they are superb. The crawfish has a smoked flavor to them. By far, different than any other crawfish, I've had. Try them out. The price is comparable to other places. They do get packed. I went at lunch, and sat at the bar. The entire place, including the patio packed. Very friendly staff and crowd. Will be visiting again.

Amber W.

Yelp
Very good place! I recommend the seafood boil (it does get super spicy) & stuffed mushrooms are great.
google avatar

Dahni B.

Yelp
PSA. we eat here often but tonight was awful. crawfish cold. asked to have hot ones and all they did was dump them back in the boil. so now they're not seasoned and they're mushy and gross. Manager comes to the table - no we did not ask to speak with him at all- the server did. He has a horrible attitude and never once apologized for the crap we were served instead he came to argue that the crawfish were not reheated and we were given fresh ones...BS. I know a lot of ppl rave about this place- as do I usually . When they're good they are amazing as they were last night. today it was inconsistent and horrible. And Al is rude and should not be in the service industry with the attitude he displayed tonight.

Yelp
OMG, this place was wonderful! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. My friend and I decided to give this place a try since she called and was told the crawfish was $5.99 a pound but when we got there it had been changed to $6.99. The $5.99 was not honored but we wanted to try it out. We ordered the fried zucchini, fried jalapeño and mushrooms, and the fried crab claws but the chef didn't feel comfortable serving the claws because they weren't to his expectations which if I could give extra stars I would because anywhere else they would have served them. Kudos to the chef! My friend also ordered the raw oysters. After we ate all that we each ordered 4 pounds of the 1X spicy crawfish and let me tell you they give BB's a run on the flavor and size. We love BB's but this place is great and the sweet tea is great too. We didn't have room for desert but maybe next time. A definite go to place with lots of options. There's also a bar here if you want beer or mixed drinks I believe. Cozy place that I would definitely recommend. Sorry I didn't take pictures of our food. We were so hungry we forgot.
