Guisados

I live in the SF Bay Area, but for years I have thought about the breakfast (and chile toreado taco) I ate at Guisados while visiting Echo Park eight years ago. My fiancé and I were staying in the Venice Beach area for a wedding this weekend, and we went to the Venice Guisados for dinner. It was so good!!! The handmade tortillas are next level, and between the two of us, we ate some amazing tacos. My favorite was the cochinita pibil, and he loved the chicken mole. At the end, we decided to face the chiles. We did it!! One of our highlights of visiting this location was the awesome staff. In particular, Cesar was so friendly and gave us a big welcome to LA. We were telling him how hard it is to find Texas-style breakfast tacos in the Bay Area, so he invited us to come back the following morning for breakfast tacos. They were amazing!! With the fresh corn tortillas and melty cheese, they really hit the spot. Amazing food, amazing people, and a good price.

Very tasty tacos and a good selection. Great service, friendly staff. When I come back to LA, this place will be at the top of my list. It was heated outside, so people couldn't get cold. The prices are more than fair.

More than 5 stars - fair prices for the area, good quality. The weenie was surprising delicious. Corn tortillas were tasty. People working are helpful and genuinely friendly. Clean. So glad I came!

Stopped by Guisados Venice Beach and tried a mix of tacos — everything came out fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The sampler plate is a great way to try different guisados; highlights for me were the braised beef and the chicken tinga, both packed with flavor and just the right spice. I also ordered the nopal taco — simple but really tasty with grilled cactus, onion, and salsa that gave it a fresh, earthy balance. Tortillas are handmade and hold up perfectly to the fillings. Service was quick and casual, and the vibe fits Venice well. Prices are fair for the quality, and portions are satisfying without being over the top. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re craving real-deal tacos beyond the typical Venice options.

Mmmmmmmm, tacos! (Insert Homer Simpson ahhhhhh and drool here). Who doesn’t love a taco? I mean it’s the perfect food, and the perfect way to get meats and veggies into your mouth. And goodness, does @guisados have some epic tacos (and other goodies too). I’ve been living in Singapore for 6 years, and happened to be in LA visiting family and was craving amazing Mexican food, and Guisados had amazing reviews all over the place, so we headed in for some tacos. I really loved everything they served … the tacos were so well done, we loved all the fillings but the mole poblano and the cochinita pibil were my faves. The Melon water and the arnaldo palmero were also super tasty drinks and not too sweet. This location also has tamales, so we got 2 for sharing. Fluffy and I really loved the green rajas filing. They also have a salsa bar with tastes for everyone. Super friendly staff who explained everything to us in detail (I don’t do cilantro so they were able to tell me what I could and couldn’t order). Overall awesome experience, highly recommend!

Right on the route for the Santa Monica Venice Christmas Run, Guisados is a solid stop for a quick bite. Whether you’re running, cheering, or just cruising by. This time I grabbed their pumpkin spice horchata, the seasonal twist you didn’t know you needed. Like fall in a cup, Venice style. The team here is friendly, the tacos are consistently solid, and the vibe always feels authentically LA.

Came in for a quick bite and tried about 6 different tacos. All of were top notch. Our favorites were the mole, the chile relleno and the fish.

Loved their melon drink! Tried their vegetarian platter and tacos which were yummy! Staff is super friendly !
