Great new restaurant in Brooklyn, and after a few visits, it’s clear this place knows exactly what it’s doing. We ordered the cemita, bistec a la mexicana, tlacoyos de carnitas, and the costillas en salsa verde. The cemita was messy in the best way, the bistec was full of flavor and comforting, the tlacoyos were rich and satisfying, and the costillas en salsa verde were tender and deeply flavorful. Nothing felt overworked or fussy. Just really good food done right. The vibe matches the menu. Simple, relaxed, and confident. No gimmicks, no trying too hard. That’s how Mexican food should be, easy like a Sunday morning. This is the kind of place you don’t just try once. You come back, you bring friends, and before you know it, it’s part of your regular rotation. And honestly, that’s the best compliment you can give a new business. Also, very important detail: the restroom is clean. That matters.

some of the best tacos i’ve had in the city, and the salsas were delicious. the customer service was out of this world. the woman working there was so incredibly kind and warm, and even gifted my family and i keychains after we chatted with her for a bit. i am recommending this to everyone from now on!

We went on the opening day. Had chicharrón and costillas en salsa verde 10/10! Good portion, good flavor! The restaurant is spacious and the staff are really sweet and friendly. 100% recommend this restaurant! Gracias Guisados Maria! ❤️

What a lovely experience! Stopped in for their grand opening and everything was excellent! The staff was warm, welcoming, and made you feel like you were sitting to have dinner with their family. I had ribs in green salsa and the first bite immediately transported me back to dishes my abuelita used to make for me! The horchata is also super bomb and I’ll likely end up stopping in just for a quick cup of it when the craving hits. Chips and salsa were perfect - no notes. Stoked to have them in the neighborhood and I’ll definitely be coming here regularly.

I have now tried the bistec burrito, the guisado, and w few other items and can say this is a very tasty restaurant! The employees are very kind and the food is prepped quickly for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

So happy this place opened up close to where I live - my roommate and I have been following their build for months! We got three chalupas and a quesadilla and it was so so delicious. And they're open late, which is not good for my stomach or my wallet hahah. I can't wait to try their other stuff!!

I have been in this neighborhood for a while and I was always very disappointed on the lack of good Mexican food. There are a lot of restaurants but the quality was ways mediocre. I tried this place and from the handmade tortillas with the tacos , to the macha sauce and the tamales! I am there!

I live nearby and was so excited when this place finally opened up. They really came through! I had the pozole and a couple of tacos, and everything was delicious! I can’t wait to go back.
