Giushu - Review - Porta Venezia - Milan - The Infatuation

"Giushu is Milan’s answer to a Chinese diner. Tucked in the Porta Venezia area, the small, simply decorated dining room almost feels like eating at home. Families settle in alongside locals and expats, and the staff couldn’t be warmer or more accommodating. The food is straightforward Sichuan: shared plates, generous portions, homely, and well-cooked. Nose-to-tail cooking shows up in dishes like tripe and tongue, while equal care is given to something as humble as cabbage or beans, gently seasoned and perfectly balanced." - Michael Zee

THE best dinning experience in a while :) We didn’t manage to book in advance, turnout to be their day off… Lao ban took us in and said: “Don’t worry, I’ll cook for you. “ I almost burst into tears, receiving kindness from a complete stranger, feeling like walked into grandma’s kitchen. The dishes were absolutely delicious, authentic enough for true Sichuan cuisine lover, but gentle enough for expats who can’t handle real spicy dishes:) Recommend!

Loved every dish! Slightly spicy and bursting with flavor. We had the beef and oxtail in chilli oil and dumplings as appetizers and they was delicious next to a glass of beer. Aaaand the hot and sour soup is like a warm embrace. Will definitely be returning next time we're in Milan!

The food was transcendental! Must try the hot n sour soup, it radiates your mouth and has an excellent flavour. Service was amazing, they are such nice people. We simply loved it, and will visit again. Thank you!

Food is delicious, despite portions are smaller and dishes are less spicy than in other similar restaurants I have tried. The environment is simple, beautiful and relaxing. Staff is nice and prices are good for the central position.

The price of the dish is far too high compared to the portion size. On top of that, the food is not good at all.
