Gül

"This restaurant tucked away in an inner courtyard has a laid-back atmosphere and is pleasantly lively thanks to a vibrant soundtrack of Turkish music. And so the scene is set for the food, a modern take on traditional Turkish dishes – made in the open kitchen and, in keeping with the way in this part of the world, served in smaller portions or larger dishes for sharing." - Michelin Inspector

Culinary Art at Its Finest – 6 Stars Out of 5! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gül is an absolute gem in Zürich. The food is authentically Turkish, yet every dish carries a signature twist that elevates it into pure artistry. Each bite was a revelation – the kind of deep, mesmerizing flavors you rarely experience, crafted with incredible creativity and precision. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience that proves how a chef can be a true artist. Without doubt, this is a must-go place if you are in Zürich. If I could, I’d give it 6 stars out of five!

Gül offers a modern twist on Turkish cuisine, focusing on small dishes rather than the usual large mezze platters or grilled meats. The food is excellent—flavorful, well-prepared, and ideal for sampling multiple dishes. Booking ahead is recommended, especially for groups. Service is friendly but inconsistent; expect occasional oversights like missing cutlery when plates are cleared. The drinks are good, the music adds to the atmosphere, and the restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms. In warmer months, the outdoor seating is a nice option. A solid choice for a relaxed, tasty meal—just be prepared to ask for forks

Really nice garden and good service - a bit slow, but friendly. Now, the food is the main problem...some dishes were tasty but their most expensive dish on the menu, the so called "juicy lamb", is a joke. The meat is weird, not juicy at all...it is one of those cheap kebabs with kind of like a processed meat instead of real meat (see the picture). Honestly, we felt like idiots by being served something like this and paying such a high price for poor quality meat.

An incredible evening at Gül – a true journey through the flavors of Turkey 🇹🇷 We kicked things off with Raki and a perfectly mixed Negroni, followed by a table full of deliciousness: creamy Cacık, rich Yumurta Salatası, crispy Yufka, juicy Köfte, and the standout Bazlamalı Köfte Kebabı. The Lahmacun was light and flavorful, the Manti absolutely melt-in-your-mouth, and we finished with golden, flaky Baklava. Every dish was bold, authentic, and full of soul. Can’t wait to go back!

The food was excellent, however, the pricing is a bit high for the portion sizes. If you don't mind smaller portions or ordering a bunch of dishes (which adds up) it is a great place to visit. They also were sold out of some of the things we wanted to order. The staff was very nice, you won't have a dedicated server but they were somehow able to make it work.

Lovely restaurant with a cosy courtyard. Service was as expected, and the food was good. Prices are a touch on the higher side given the simplicity of the dishes

Absolutely loved this spot. The spices, the flavors, everything was ideal. Will have to return. Real foodies take the tasting menu.

The food was fine, but nothing beyond what you’d expect at a regular restaurant. There was nothing surprising or memorable about the dishes, and I’ve had far better Turkish food in London. Frankly, I don’t think this place deserves to be named in the Michelin Guide, especially alongside restaurants like DAR, which truly offer inspiring cuisine and a creative, surprising menu. Perhaps it made the list because dining standards in Switzerland are, on average, quite low—quality here doesn’t always correlate with how much you’re willing to spend. A restaurant like Gul would not stand out in most other countries, certainly not in Turkey itself. In summary: disappointing.

Yelp
Sorry to say we were hoping to have a good tasty Turkish food to welcome us. We waited a long tome to have our dinner and the kofte kebab was way too spiced up with a semi cooked pide the chard was not edible because it was so chewy plus our server didn't acknowledged our concerns. Pricey for the quality. Great atmosphere and attentive maitre'd. good vibe too

Yelp
Everything sucked! Service was the worst. Be prepared to wait long time for your food. The area was not a good location with graffiti outside. Food was not cooked well, aryan was diluted yogurt with no seasoning. I was very disappointed especially since it was my first time in Zurich spending my birthday here was mistake. My baklava never came but my tea came and got cold. Wrongly advertised. Go somewhere else for Turkish food!! Over priced, understaffed, little food... never recommend this place. The worst experience in Zurich by far! ;(

Yelp
This restaurant opened 07.01.2019 (today) and it is a great gem in a newly renovated backyard building off Tellstrasse in Kreis 4. The food is prepared with great care to details, powerful flavors and high quality. We had the mussels, vegetarian tartar as starters - both exceptional! The gül style vide is a freshly baked stone oven bread with a well spiced potato topping. Also the Fistikli Kebab (lamp) was delicious. I don't think that you can find this kind of restaurant elsewhere in Zurich. It is certainly on the pricy side but the level of dining and quality is worth it.
