Yelp
Yes, I'm back at Gulp--this time to try their newly launched breakfast menu. I've seen so many people on social media raving about how authentic their Taiwanese breakfast is, and I had to try it for myself.
I got their popular breakfast items, but they still have hot plate noodles (鐵板麵), radish cakes (蘿蔔糕), and tea egg (茶葉蛋).
Available daily at both LIC and Jersey City locations. Breakfast menu: 8:30-11:30 am
*Taiwanese Omelet 招牌總匯蛋餅
A Taiwanese breakfast classic. It was wrapped with hashbrown, corn, cheese, and pork floss, served with a side of oyster sauce for dipping. Very filling and delicious. I only wish they could launch more different dan bing flavors in the future, like taro & pork floss, ham & cheese, or cheese and corn.
*Fan Tuan 飯糰
*Soy Milk 豆漿
Who else agrees that fan tuan and soy milk are the perfect breakfast duo? Their fan tuan was made with sticky rice, youtiao, pickled mustard greens, and pork floss. It instantly brought me back to those street carts in Taiwan, where a granny would handroll each one (those are much bigger in size, of course lol).
The soy milk was SO GOOD and very lightly sweetened that I would get it again.
*Pork Floss Egg Sandwich 肉鬆蛋三明治
It felt like eating three sandwiches at once, like a multiple choice quiz and you picked "all of the above". The cucumber and pork floss combo was savory but still refreshing. You can also tell how fluffy the bread was.
