Gumbo Jeaux's

Good Gumbo, OK Beans and Rice and pretty good Creole Chicken Sandwich. Very casual but nice clean place. Friendly service. I'll be back to try their Blackened Catfish Opelousas!

Food was ok. Just wanted to try it out for lunch so I asked one of the servers what they suggested and they said the Catfish Tout. It wasnt bad either. I will say that it wouldn't be a normal lunch spot for me since I paid $20 for the plate of food and a drink. But overall the staff was friendly and the sitting area was pretty clean. If you like cajun food and like trying new places then I do recommend you try them out.(I'm not really into cajun food)

Solid effort, friendly staff, clean dining area and pretty good food. We had the shrimp poboy, burger with sides of bisque, gumbo and etoufee. The best part was the shrimp poboy. Delicious! Great performances with gumbo and etoufee. The bisque wasn't creamy enough and the burger was too dry. Even with these minor issues, the poboy is a definite must try!

This place is amazing! My ex’s family is from Metairie Louisiana and my ex would make the best Cajun food and I’ve missed it. My friend told me that the cook here is from Louisiana and unlike Papadeaux and other places that throw cooked meat in already made roux, the chef here cooks the meat all the way through in its roux for maximum flavor. The etouffe and red beans and rice are just like homemade. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to anywhere else but this place in Houston for Cajun. Don’t go to Ragin’ or Pappadeaux or anywhere else, this place is where it’s at and it’s affordable. Oh and if you’re from Austin or San Antonio they have Big Red on tap <3

1st visit - the food was tasty, the people were friendly, but the drink station & napkin dispensers needed to be cleaned & sanitized. I ordered the Bronzed Shrimp & my dirty rice was cold. Like, cold from the fridge cold, in spots. It must have been mircowaved really quickly, but you cant play with dirty rice. It spoils fast & people can get sick.

Small and cozy looking store front. Very clean and tidy. People working behind the station really know what they're doing. Fried chicken are crispy outside and moist inside. The batter coating is in right thickness. Gumbo are also very tasty.

Food: 5/5 I’m not well-exposed to Cajun food, so take this as you will, but the food was very tasty. I always appreciate fish that isn’t deep fried, and being served on gumbo with rice is perfect for my preferences. Atmosphere: 3/5 The place is small and has a quaint feel, but can get rather crowded. The parking lot is also pretty small, so you may have difficulty finding parking during more crowded times Price: 4/5 My plate was $11 and I added extra vegetables for about $1.75. Seems fair to me, though I wish they would have added a little more rice for the price point. Customer Service: 4/5 No complaints. They got the order taken at the register and delivered the food. Not super bubbly but they delivered

After reading the Yelps, I stopped in to see what the fuss was all about. I got the Gumbo and étouffée. The gumbo was legit! Very flavorful and great spice. Was not very impressed, however, with the étouffée, this lacked the extra flavor that I felt was needed. It seemed very bland it all honesty. The wife got the hangover burger, she seemed to love it. I'll be back, when you're not out of your boudain balls. ;)
