Ive eaten at every single restaurant in the vicinity but have never visited this place. We were celebrating a birthday and the host wanted to eat here. Boy was i pleasantly surprised! We had a party of thirteen and they were able to accommodate us with no reservations. Harvey was our server and he was phenomenal. Our party didn't arrive all together so he attended those who were present. When everyone showed up he took our orders. What was impressive was he knew his menu, making recommendations and letting us know what was available and what wasn't. He allowed us to enjoy out appetizers and food followed in a timely manner. The restaurant is 50's themed but the food is not. They have a great selection of choices on their menu with 24hr breakfast available. The motorcycles and jukebox was a nice touch and there were many pictures throughout the restaurant of 1950's personalities but there was nothing detailing who Gunther Toody was. Even though the food was delicious our server, Harvey is what made the evening special. Great service. Thank you

This was my first time at Gunther Toodys and I was really surprised. I guess I thought it would be gimmicky and mediocre food. Truthfully, it was a pretty laid-back atmosphere and really good food. My sister was the only one that wasn't really pleased with her meal. She got the chicken fried steak and said it was just okay. Someone else got the fish and chips which was okay. The Monte Cristo was really good except for I prefer it with raspberry jam and this was served with strawberry jam. I got the chili reunion Burger which was huge and all aspects of it were really good. It came with cheese curds on the side which was a very large serving and they were very tasty. If you get an entree you get a free kids meal so we also got chicken fingers with tater tots and they were nice and a very large portion.

Excellent place for breakfast service is great. It's better than the cheap. Franchise of an IHOP. GladSome places don't change.Especially when they got it right

First visit - 2025 Weekday lunch visit, a little before 11am. Had to wait awhile by Hostess podium for someone to attend/acknowledge me, even though a few of the staff saw me. Left to check if Korean BBQ restaurant was open but, closed, so came back here. As soon as I entered, I was immediately attended to and felt they knew what had happened earlier. Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and coffee. Food came with white gravy, bland. Maybe, I could have asked for brown gravy? Potato chips were really good. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Service/server was 👍, pretty much, left alone to enjoy my food. Actually, prefer this less intrusive service. 👍 Decor is very 60s diner vibe. Full marks on that one. Menu is varied and I might just have not ordered to my palette's preference. Will reconsider rating after another visit. Barring initial incident of being ignored upon entrance, I give them better marks upon my return, as well as, right amount of attention while dining.

I came in for breakfast on Sunday the 23rd of November. The food was good, but the atmosphere and the service is what will get me to come back above anything else. My server was Popeye and he was very friendly and helpful. The inside of the restaurant was really cool. Thanks Popeye we will be back. Your service was impeccable. We appreciate you.

Google
Nice and Comfortable. Diner style eating and one of the best doing it. Little transport back in time during your dining experience. Some cool wall and ceiling decor. Food is worth it for the price and the staff has always been friendly. Try a shake to finish off your meal.

Gunther Toody’s Diner in Northglenn is a fantastic spot for breakfast! I’ve been coming here for a long time, and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious, especially their classic breakfast options. But what really makes this place special is the staff—they’re absolutely wonderful. Friendly, welcoming, and always on top of things, they make every visit feel like home. If you’re looking for a great diner experience with great food and even better people, this is the place to go!

Google
I went to this location yesterday (Sunday 11/23/2025) and was extremely impressed by the 5 star service I received from a gentleman named Popeye. He was jovial, friendly and his positive attitude and obvious enjoyment of his job was contagious and I left in much better spirits than when I came in. The food was such better than I expected from a "diner." Thank you to the cooks and to Popeye for such an amazing experience. I WILL be back!

Yelp
FOOD IS GREAT. I can't believe there are so many deals! Service is old-style. People are nice. There's almost no one there. Crazy! The ambiance is good.

Yelp
We have come in here and it wasn't that busy yet for a Sat morning. Hostess was confused where to sit us, did not give us children menus. All not a huge deal. Had to get our own kids menus, then sat for another 15 mins not helped by any servers. Severs walked by clearly seeing we had been sitting for awhile. Finally had to walk back to the hostess to ask if we had a server, she didn't know & didn't seem interested in finding out. This is the 2nd we have had to stand up and walk out for not being served. And nobody seems to think it's an issue who works there. Way to run a business! We will have to go to the location on Hwy 7 moving forward. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

Chris C.

Yelp
This is my mine and my family's favorite restaurant and has always been an amazing experience. Not tonight though. Our waiter took the order of people that sat down after us so we had to wait that much longer for our food. (About 25 minutes). He smelt of cigarettes and was neglectful of refills. When he brought the lids for the sauces to take home... they had greasy fingerprints all over them and when we got our shakes, there was ice cream all over the outsides of them so we got it all over our hands. The food wasn't very good OR HOT and to top it off... I'm sick to my stomach now! NO STARS TONIGHT!
google avatar

Danny L.

Yelp
The breakfast was great, and more affordable than I had expected. The staff were super nice, and of course, the ambiance is great with the 50's diner theme. I hadn't been to a Gunther Toody's in probably 20 years. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I will be back!
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
We always go in to see Stella, she is so lovely and kind! The service is always a pleasure with her. When they have the right food in stock, it's usually pretty good. Unfortunately many items are not in stock when we go, and it can affect the quality and consistency of the food.
google avatar

Omar S.

Yelp
The food tasted good and it was amazing but it wasn't the best in my opinion will be coming be coming back the restraunt looks amazing inside and good selection of food
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
I ordered for delivery. I don't know what it is about this place but unless you're sitting in their diner, you don't get the same food. My hashbrowns were almost potato chips. There was no potato flavor ever the eggs were nicely cooked, but my toast was burnt. come on guys get it together
google avatar

Elissa M.

Yelp
The experience for a diner was deplorable. The food was over cooked, and presented poorly. The waiter presented me with the choice of 20% and up tip. I love to tip the waiter staff however he served the food that I wouldn't serve to my dog and was lax about checking back, concerning our needs. Definitely not a place you should consider.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Our food was okay, although one of the burgers had incorrect toppings. We ordered dessert to go, were charged incorrectly for the items, and then came home and got ready to enjoy dessert when we made a few strange discoveries. First, the funnel cake fries were... spicy? I don't know if someone meant to dust them in cinnamon but used chile powder by mistake, but either way it was weird. Even worse was our toffee cake, which was frozen and still in the plastic packaging the restaurant must receive it in. It was also missing the toffee sauce that presumably is poured over it after it's cooked. Overall just seems like the folks preparing our order were lazy or didn't care.

Yelp
What a cool diner! The 50s vibe, the cool names like a John Wayne burger, a juke box, it's a total scene. DaddyO had the Gunther burger and declared it great. Sugar had the Monte Cristo and oh wow was it good! The batter was crispy and the jam was just right. Fries and tater tots done correctly. And a diet cherry coke. With a cherry! The waitress stayed in character the whole time. Food was hot and service was quick. Doesn't get much better for a quick meal.
google avatar

Laurie M.

Yelp
The first time we were here was better. Went back and brought a friend visiting from out of town. They discontinued the bat out of hell burger and the fried mushrooms were a smaller order-Disappointed is an understatement. We had chicken fried chicken, country fried steak and waffles. It was okay. Our server was sweet and attentive. Not excited to revisit.

Yelp
It's not common you still see Gunther Toody's anywhere. I suppose it is time for the crew to check it out. It looks modern on the outside, but inside it still has that retro 1950's diner theme still going strong. Even still played music from a classic-looking jukebox. Had breakfast ordered, the hotcakes and french toast turnes out pretty good and filling, there wasn't even much a need for syrup to get us all diabetic on every bite. However, the eggs were slimy and cold. Not even ketchup could save them.
google avatar

Isabella Q.

Yelp
It's a cute diner, I'll give it that. Otherwise the food is trash and so is that waitress Jennifer who beat the breaks off her 19 year old daughter while she was holding her GRANDBABY. Crazy how this place will just hire anybody Iguess, maybe being a server is all she can do.
google avatar

Yelp
Gunther Toody's is such a Colorado Classic! I love old diners like this. The old time atmosphere and celebration to 70's/80's music is such a treat! It really is a shame that the larger Gunther Toody's down by Cherry Creek is no longer around. This particular one is smaller and doesn't look inviting from outside, but on the inside, it's still a good place to go. They really could use a paint job on the outside and maybe some trees or other vegetation to make the exterior more inviting. If they did, this place could easily steal business from the ghetto IHoP across the way with poor service. We entered here and are greeted by Elvis ;-). The staff wasn't at the host stand, but quickly noticed our entrance, greeted us and sat us quickly, with a smile. The place was well decorated and clean, no sticky icky tables like a lot of diner joints. We didn't wait long for service, got our drinks, and food shortly after. Each waitress has their own theme name, which is an awesome touch. They're also very pleasant and seem happy to be there. A MUCH older couple came in and sat near us, and the waitress was so kind to and extra helpful to them! What a treat to find staff that actually care about their job and the service they provide to others. The food is classic diner, but also not greasy and overly oiled like many are. Coffee good, but water had a really bad taste to it for some reason. I don't know; it was like it was pulled out of the dish sink or something... Maybe they don't filter their drinking water? It just wasn't good at all. Outside of that, the food and experience was pretty good.

Yelp
The restaurant in general has always been a favorite, for more than 20 years between the locations. This last trip was pretty sad, though. We sat, placed our order, and waited over an HOUR for our food to hit the table. 45 minutes in, after seeing 4 tables seated after us get their food, we were finally able to flag down our server. Food came out 10 minutes later, cold all the way through. Not sure where the breakdown was. Either the order wasn't submitted or server didn't pick it up. I hate leaving bad reviews, but the mark was clearly missed here. It was a busy Saturday morning and other sections were flowing seemingly well. The management did comp 50% off the tab, but I was ready to just leave and pay for the drinks. Only reason we stayed and waited is this is my daughter's favorite breakfast place. Took her there ever since she was a baby! On the upside, our past experiences have not been consistently bad, maybe this was an off day. That is my reasoning for the third star here. As far as atmosphere, it was loud as should be expected on a Saturday morning. Clean, removed dishes quickly and pretty good about checking on refills. Hope to see an improvement next time.

Yelp
Great 50s style diner! Very clean and friendly restaurant! Food was great too! All your favorite diner comfort foods! Had the Anthony Quinn sandwiches. Anthony Quinn for the win! Chorizo sausage egg and cheese of jalapeño biscuits! Highly recommend getting your eggs over easy so you get that runny egg all over the sandwich! So good! Of course had to get sausage gravy on the browns too! All the food was great, even got a cinnamon roll and pimento cheese bites to go! Definitely will be back for more!
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Service was great, love the atmosphere, it give you a retro look. Those fried mushrooms are delicious and great for sharing. The chicken fried steak was good but not all that great, maybe with a little more flavor on the batter. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Alfie was hungover, I'm pregnant he asked if I wanted breakfast, and me being always hungry said sure. He's been here a few times, first for me. I thought the food was pretty decent. I ordered Huevos Rancheros which was pretty good minus that dreadful avocado. I would recommend not getting avocados here because we asked for a different one and it wasn't much better. The beans were good and flavorful as was the green chili. I will say that I appreciate the hash-browns on the dish but I don't think it needs both hash brown and tortilla...I know tortilla is traditional but the hash browns were so much better! Alfie got chicken fried steak with a pancake and ate every bite. He said it definitely helped his hangover along with the Bloody Mary he ordered. Nice to be able to order alcoholic beverages at a diner type establishment. I feel like that alone makes it better than like a dennys or something like that. Since we were living it up I ordered a root beer float, for breakfast lol and enjoyed every moment of it. The things you try to get away with when preggo I tell ya lol. Either way all in all decent. I would totally come back for another breakfast experience.

K P.

Yelp
The hamburger and onion rings tasted like rancid grease. We did not finish anything after the first bite. We paid and left and will not be going back. I do not recommend this place.
google avatar

Gail W.

Yelp
We have tried this a few times since the remodel, I have to say that the actual quality of food has not improved at all, I think it's worse in fact. This time for breakfast we got the Rita Moreno, split it between hubby and myself, it wasn't bad, my mom got the Big Bopper, since it's the special you would think they could get it correct. She asked for cooked hashbrowns, specified cooked all the way, ie hashbrowns not hashwhites, and cooked toast, not warm bread. This was the bread replacement. I am still not impressed with the "new" Gunther Toody's.

Christine C.

Yelp
My daughter turned six last Sunday and we wanted to take her somewhere fun, knowing you guys sing and give a hats for birthdays :) Well, turns out the waitress was a complete jerk! She was so annoyed that we said it was her birthday and told us "I mean....we can sing to her, but there is only two of us" in a very annoyed and not interested voice. All in all my daughter didn't get sang to and it was a big waste of our time to eat there! Ps.. the waitress was a woman with a bunch of nose piercings, probably should get another job!

StinkBug R.

Yelp
got there right before closing but our server Mallory was awesome the shakes were amazing the mick jagger fries are a must have get them with sour cream pico and guacamole, ask for Mallory if you go
google avatar

Seth M.

Yelp
This 50's themed dinner is filled with delicious food, delightful decorations and superior customer service.

Ethan N.

Yelp
Gunther Toody's is heaven on earth. They got Elvis and Ringo (aka our amazing waiter). The food was wonderful, my omelette was cooked to perfection. Ringo helped us get a discount on our meal and even gave us a free beer glass to take home. 5 STARS!!!
google avatar

Harlee S.

Yelp
If you haven't had the pleasure of dining at Gunther Toody's, well this is your sign that you need to! I have never had a bad experience with any Gunther Toody's! It's such a nice space and it really takes you back in time! They have awesome decor and the staff are always nice. Anytime I come here, I order a milkshake! They have the best shakes ever! And you get so much for the price. The food is your standard diner food, but it tastes great and fills you up. I remember coming here as a child all the time and loving everything about it!

Cathy S.

Yelp
The patty melt was the best I have ever had! So juicy perfectly cooked Great service as well

M R.

Yelp
Tried to eat here tonight. Grill needs to be cleaned- used napkins to sop up the grease. Told wait staff who then reported to the kitchen staff in Spanish while they all had a good laugh. Didn't eat the food and was still charged 30.00 for 2 crappy "meals". We won't be coming back anytime soon.
google avatar

Elsie M.

Yelp
Definitely not the Gunther's that I am used to. Different atmosphere, and look inside and out for sure. More of a "modern" look from the 50s style but they did try keep with the theme but toned it back for sure. Our server, Dustin, amazing! Definitely new menu items to try for sure. Breakfast is now served all day (finally, but this visit, wasn't in the mood), some items have disappeared off the menu as well, and of course prices have increased (not surprised after the whole pandemic and now with the inflation we are enduring). Only reason for the 4/5 stars boils down to the remodel. All the staples that made the iconic restaurant for this particular location is no longer here. The food is still amazing along with the staff, but the new look on the other hand, not so much.

Steve C.

Yelp
Is it possible to leave a zero star review? After discovering someone else's hair in my gravy, in total disgust I gave the plate back to my server (Betty Boop) (Maria C). There was no way I was going to eat another bite. When she brought me my bill I asked if she expected me to pay for a meal I could not finish, she replied "you ate some of it".
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Awesome food and awesome service. Complicated orders and they came through. Best experience by far during our pandemic.
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
Excellent prompt friendly service! Food was awesome, prompt and hot! Visiting from out of state enjoyed our lunch!

Emily V.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Food needs more flavor. Staff was friendly. The orange dream shake was interesting.
google avatar

Tawny C.

Yelp
We've been to this location no less than 15 times since we moved to the area. We've been here during breakfast (served all day), lunch, and dinner. The service is always great and the food is consistent, but it's diner food so keep that in mind. The biggest reason I'm giving 3 stars is because every time they seat us near the kitchen, it's clear that they are running a hot mess of a restaurant. The servers struggle to know which section is theirs, to-go orders are plated rather than boxed, orders are put up incomplete or wrong, etc. The service is always great and the food always good - just get seated on the far side of the restaurant, away from the kitchen, and you'll be none the wiser and have a much better experience. P.S. Try the green chili. It's actually pretty good for a restaurant.
google avatar

Rodney V.

Yelp
If this was my first time here, I would have been my last! 10 minutes to be waited on, 30 minutes to get our food. Red hot Mama scramble, eggs severely over cooked and dry. Chicken fried chicken, also way over cooked and dry, eggs cooked perfectly. They weren't even busy( that should have been a sign!

Mark H.

Yelp
Awesome experience mainly because of the waitress that works there. Knows the menu very well and has incredible suggestions very attentive and her service is so fast. Please ask for Megan aka Lucy

Mark E.

Yelp
The last time we visited was a 2. It took 47 minutes to get a water. Then it took a long time for the kitchen to get our food out...we were 3 kids and 2 adults. I thought we'd try it again today. We ordered. A server brought the wrong partial order. They went back to fix it, but when they brought the correct order everything they tried to leave at the table was cold. Our server was overwhelmed and busy. But the fact they brought us back the same cold food. I want go back.

Kaedra R.

Yelp
Floors were disgusting. The food had no seasoning or flavor. My spicy chicken sandwich (Johnny cash) was basically a chicken patty with Tabasco on top. My husbands chili burger was flavorless and the chili tasted like just hormel chili. The fries were bland. Our waitress barely stopped by and we had to find her for our check. One waitress who was in a skirt and fishnets picked out her wedgie in front of us and then grabbed plates to take outside. That was our breaking point when we decided to leave. Their milkshakes are small now for the price. They no longer wear their cute skirt and 50s diner outfits so the aesthetic is off. Bottom line dirty restaurant, nasty flavorless food, bad staff and over priced. Go to black eyed peas, ihop, Texas Roadhouse or cinzettis in walking distance instead. Don't waste your time or money here.

Jerry D.

Yelp
This place sucks. We waited forever for someone to come and help us at our table. They didn't bring us everything that we ordered and never once checked on us after we got our food. So we never got refills on any of our drinks. Not even worth the money. This place used to be good until they got new ownership. Do better. You are overpriced, and for what? 0/10. Spend your money elsewhere.
google avatar

sandy b.

Yelp
The decor is so fun, great photos, odd and ends, motor bikes and funny signs, I'm certain I missed some details. Music not working so a bit disappointing. Waitress had a sense of humor.
google avatar

Courtney K.

Yelp
The aesthetics are really awesome in this place and that's about all they've got going for them. Homeless people sitting on the bench outside the door asking for money, waiting to be seated and staff just walked past us not acknowledging us even being alive. Was sat and ordered, waited for almost an hour for our food to finally come. ICE COLD. Had a Belgium waffle that the cold hard butter would not spread on let alone melt, okay maybe my scrambled eggs will be better? Scrambled? You mean a weird omelette/ sheet of egg hybrid that was also icecold? My order of "cheeesebrowns" were forgotten and when reminded were brought over excruciatingly quickly- were a pile of completely under/barely cooked shredded potatoes covered in a weird combo of shredded cheese and a weird pink/orange cheese sauce ontop. The name hashBROWNS should let the cooks know they're ready once they are BROWN. Will never ever go here or recommend to anyone unless they are drunker than a skunk or have no tastebuds left.
google avatar

Mars A.

Yelp
The atmosphere and setting called for a great blast to the past. My friends and I loved how welcoming the establishment was, with a very polite and attentive waiter. The food was average but the experience makes us for it. "Gunther Toody's" is cute.
google avatar

St C.

Yelp
Decided to take the family to a CO diner to get some good food. To our surprise, there was a free kids meal with adult meal. The kids loved their chicken fingers, but even better the diner had a special of burger and 23 oz. beer for $10.99. Fat tire on tap was delicious, but not as good as their onion rings. Great recommendation for a place to eat!
google avatar

Isaias S.

Yelp
Bussin food, good servers, friendly environment, decorations kinda crap, Elvis kinda overated, he took the L to cardiac arrest, he's been with his wife since she was 14. Marilyn Monroe is way better and no doubt she should be the first thing you should see when you come in. But besides that the food is amazing and the servers are wonderful people

Alaina A.

Yelp
Came in fore breakfast on a Saturday, were seated immediately. Super fun and cute atmosphere, really sticks to the diner theme. Great breakfast food :)

Attack A.

Yelp
Avoid the burgers, fries, milkshakes, probably everything tbh. Service is sloooow, and everything is really tacky but I guess that was the point.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
First time here... friendly staff. The burger was very tasty. The malted shake was delicious. Decor was cheesy, but in a good way, very nostalgic. Kid friendly. This is a fun little spot for very good diner food.

Yoel K.

Yelp
Waiter was overwhelmed and not very good at his job. Wasn't especially busy, yet took 10+ minutes to take order, 37 minutes to bring to table, and they managed to mess up a muffin and butter by microwaving them side by side.
google avatar

Colette D.

Yelp
Well, not what I remember...but had to try Gunther Toody's again....disappointment sets in. Overall restaurant smells greasy, two staff walked by us and did not seat us, we finally just sat at the counter, could not get a menu, finally asked...my son and I ordered the big bopper, I am going to share a picture and you let me know if the hash browns are edible??? The meal was small, I had two eggs over easy, hash browns, toast and polish sausage, butterflied! My son had the same except with bacon...the whole meal including a coffee was $13, so not horrible, but the service, the grease and the over done hash browns...disappoInting! Get it together Gunther!

Violet A.

Yelp
been here before, it was alright in the past. Went in here today with family a little after the lunch rush. Our waiter took almost 15 mins to get us started. We got our drinks after 10 more mins and the chocolate mault didn't come out for another 20. He never refilled our waters and never checked in with us to see how things were. After 50 ish minutes of waiting for our food it came out semi cold. I specifically asked for no cheese and extra turkey (because i'm lactose intolerant the no cheese was a must). My food came out with cheese and no turkey... i had to just pick it out because i didn't want to wait another 50 minutes for a mediocre sandwich. Waiter complained about other customers to us and was overall rude.
