Guobaorou - Review - Flushing - New York - The Infatuation

"We love an eponymous album. But what about an eponymous restaurant? That’s the story at Guobaorou in Flushing, a Northeastern Chinese restaurant where the headliner is guo bao rou, a crispy pork dish in a sweet, tangy sauce, though they have lots of other regional dishes, like pork bone stew with pickled cabbage and dry pot cauliflower. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Awesome! The eggplant was cooked to perfection along with the crispy pork. The cold noodle was also great! Sauce was perfectly blended and the cold skin noodles was perfectly tender. Refreshing on a hot day.

We found this place last Sunday evening after a day in the city. My girl wanted me to experience more authentic style food than I’m used to in Florida and I’m so glad that we found this restaurant, I always stay in Flushing and she lives very close to this restaurant and it was the perfect place for a second date! The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, well seasoned and enough to share from each dish! The service was great and the place is quite cozy, it was the first time here for both of us and on my next visit to Flushing we will definitely be returning!! I highly recommend Guo Bao Rou!!

Food was delicious and authentic (northeastern Chinese) and came fast. Portions are quite big.

The Guo Bao Rou was just as good as when I had it in Jilin! And the shredded dry tofu with spicy oil was excellent!! Definitely recommend for Northeastern style Chinese dishes

I was craving something that was bold, and spicy flavors and stumbled into this restaurant ! The flavors are complex, with a perfect balance of spice, savory richness, and a hint of sourness. Everything on the menu looked so good, that I wanted to order the entire menu! The staff is very attentive, quick service and the prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food served the portion are huge! Highly recommended for anyone who loves a little kick in their meal! I definitely will be back with a big group next time to try more items on the menu!

This place is very good, definitely has the best guobaorou in Queens, the batter is so light and crispy! The liangpi was one of the best I have had, points off for the sauce as I like my sauce more peanuty than soy saucy. Ordered 4 dishes and everything was great, definitely will come back, price and portion are reasonable as well

The food tasted like it was imported then microwaved. The white rice was yellowish brown?! When we told them we wanted to trade the bowl of rice for a new one, they were really unpleasant about it.

Wow. I stumbled into here because I saw it was full house on a Wednesday night. Definitely the best northeastern Chinese food I've had in New York. Everything was fresh and priced reasonably. $1 coors lights! They also have other beer and soju
