Would not recommend. For how expensive the drinks are the pours are VERY light. Tried to order a drink after leaving the pool at night, but the bartender and his assistant were too occupied making other drinks to take my order. By the time they finished making the drinks, and even handed off an extra free drink to the group in front of me, they told me they were now closed and couldn’t take my order. I had been standing there for about 10-15 minutes. If you’re gonna hand off free, pricier drinks in front of customers, I think you should be willing to hand off a free beer or something if you’re saying the computer really won’t let you put in an order, especially since you were ignoring a customer. I think it’s just because the girls in that group in front of me were blond and skinny. Also, I don’t know what the point of a bar back is if she’s just gonna stand there, she didn’t really do anything besides make eye contact with me a few times then look away and pretend like she didn’t see me. If you want good drinks I would recommend going to Port Orleans. The drinks and service there are amazing, the bartenders at Scat Cats club are always incredible and so friendly. The food there is better too. MUCH better places at Disney resorts to spend your money on drinks and service. I understand those last minute orders can be annoying sometimes, as I’ve worked plenty of food service jobs in my life, but I’ve never just ignored someone until closing so I technically wouldn’t have to take their order.

Great little bar area. Definitely small with very limited seating, but well worth the wait for the service and drinks. Located near the pool in the middle of of the main area.

Drinks were good (very light pours), but man I cannot get over how terrible the bartender is. Very rude and dismissive. Every other aspect of this resort is perfect except the bartender. Think his name was Bryan? The one with an exceptionality.

4-3-23 Food from Olivia's "Goods Foods To Go" is delicious 😋 Pairs well with libations from The Gurgling Suitcase. Bartender Jeff continues to deliver great drinks. Jeff is an excellent bartender. He is also quite versed in WDW Disney knowledge. The poolside bar has indoor seating at the bar and outside. The decor is uniquely framed collections of donated first responder's patches and DVC members expired license plates. Stop by, you will not be disappointed.

I stay at this resort often, but even when I'm staying elsewhere, I make it a point to head over to the Gurgling Suitcase to have a few cocktails. My favorite is definitely the Turtle Krawl and Sultry Seahorse. The loaded Bloody Mary was also amazing. Honestly, I've never had a bad cocktail here, and the bartenders are always epic.

The establishment is located near the family pool and clubhouse, where excessive drinking can sometimes create an uncomfortable atmosphere. When I attempted to purchase a drink, the mixologist, Lorna, refused service, citing a policy that restricts alcohol sales to guests under a certain age—either 25 or 28— I can’t remember exactly, without an ID. I explained that I had left my wallet in my room, as I hadn’t planned to drink, but given that I am in my mid-30s, I didn’t expect an issue. However, I was still denied service. As a suggestion if such a policy exists, it should be clearly communicated to guests since our rooms can be far away from the family pool/bar area. Lorna stated they cannot sell alcohol to those who are under the stated age, not just those who appear to be, meaning I should not have been refused. While this was a minor inconvenience, it left me feeling unfairly treated. Overall, our stay was pleasant, though the food and drinks are Disney-priced and somewhat overhyped.

This is a great place to escape the heat and have some fun conversations with some resort patrons, and guests. You can also order food next door and have in here while you have some amazing drinks. I ended up having a Sultry Seahorse and a Conch Republic Key Lime Wheat Ale. The Sultry Seahorse was a great blend of tropical flavors and is a very smooth drink ("where'd it go? Oh yeah, I drank it."). The draft is pretty light, but the bottle selection is larger. But, come on - you're here for the mixed drink - and you're gonna have a fun time with anything you order here (Thanks Julie!)

Yelp
I could have sworn I have reviewed this place in the past. Time for a new review I guess! This is the underrated gem in all of Disney World. It's a hole in the wall bar, but has some of the friendliest and best bartenders in all of WDW. Some have been here since 1992! It's a no frills bar that you can get a beer or a surprisingly good and strong tropical drink. I'd argue the drinks are better here than Trader Sam's (but without the flair). The best part is the people watching here. You meet some real characters here. Old Key West has some really insane guests and they're always hanging around here getting a little tipsy. This might be the best "organic" bar in all of Disney World. There's no way they planned it this way. It's a little weird and I love it! Get the Turtle Krawl! The Best!

Yelp
Gurgling Suitcase is Key West-style bar located inside Disney's Old Key West Resort at Walt Disney World. The resort (originally known as Disney's Vacation Club Resort) opened in December 1991 and was renamed in January 1996. Gurgling Suitcase is a quaint hole-in-the-wall conveniently located between Olivia's Cafe and Good's Food to Go, right near the resort's Sandcastle Pool. The bar's name is a historical reference to people smuggling alcohol from Cuba to Key West inside their luggage. Customs inspectors would shake the suitcases to see if they "gurgled". The bar is well-known for their tropical cocktails, but they also offer light pub fare to munch on. Guests also have the option to order food from the full menu at Olivia's Cafe next door. My family and I recently visited Gurgling Suitcase while we were on an East Coast Road Trip. We had just arrived at Disney World and checked into our hotel at Old Key West. When my wife and I saw Gurgling Suitcase, we decided to order some fancy cocktails to get us into the Disney spirit. The interior of the bar is decorated with fire station and police department patches that have been donated by Disney Vacation Club members over the years. There's also quite a few nautical items scattered around. After looking over the menu, my wife ordered the "Blue Glow-tini" (Skyy Infusions Citrus Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Bols Blue Curaçao, and Pineapple Juice with a Sugared Rim and a souvenir Glow Cube) and I ordered the "Smoked Turkey" (Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon, Grenadine, and Minute Maid Premium Lemonade with a hint of Hickory Smoke, garnished with Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries). We enjoyed our cocktails by the pool and they both really hit the spot! If you're looking for some great tropical-inspired cocktails while in Disney World then head to Gurgling Suitcase!

Yelp
HUGE When walking through Old Key West resort, you can't help noticing other guests toting these huge red cups around and wonder what is in that deep crevasse of goodness. We caved and we bought in. Truthfully for about $20 this is a great deal. There is more than two normal sized drinks and we all know alcohol in Mickey land is NOT cheap. Flavor was good and would definitely pass the resort relaxation sipper drink. Problem is our bar tender couldn't figure out how to up charge us for a tequila we wanted without paying for a separate shot which cost $18. Would I recommend? Absolutely.

Yelp
Where to start with the classic bar in the flagship Disney vacation club resort? I believe it is to talk about the consistency of the great staff and great drinks. The beer is cold and the drinks are delicious. The main attraction drink is the turtle krawl. A fruit packed mixed drink that brings right to the shores of key west Florida. Always cold beer is a welcomed thing on the Florida heat. The bar might be small in size but definitely huge in personality and friendliness. High marks and all the recommendations for a memory that last forever.

Yelp
One of the best bars at Disney, if not Orlando. It's small but well themed with wonderful bartenders (especially Jeff and Lorna) who always make a sit at the bar entertaining and knowledgeable. The bar snacks are good also. Nachos have pulled pork, salsa, etc on them and are a meal for two. Shrimp fritters are also great. Burger is filling and loaded, very good. Frequented by Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members who share tips about good places to eat and drink at Disney. They come from their stays at other DVC resorts just to enjoy a drink with their favorite bartenders and share their Disney knowledge. If the Disney board wants to know how folks feel about their decisions, this place could educate them. The bartenders won't say much but the clientele will share if they are asked. It can get very comical and entertaining! And Disney doesn't charge for it!! Win, win!!!

Yelp
Alcohol only review.... I ordered a Whiskey Breeze, a Jim Beam-forward cocktail. If you find other Disney cocktails a little too cute or fruity and low on the alcohol content, this is the drink for you! It's definitely a sippin' beverage. If you finish it before your paper straw disintegrates, you will have trouble walking home. My wife ordered an Antioxidant Lemonade. While I have my doubts about the health benefits of this blueberry-flavored concoction, she seemed to enjoy it. And she was feeling quite good afterward. One final note... the bartender REALLY knew what she was doing. She was very courteous, very friendly, and very knowledgeable about every beverage they offered, both alcoholic and N/A. And I'm pretty sure we arrived late in her shift. I don't recall her name, but she was British.

Yelp
Stopped her later in the night and were were the only ones. The bartender was great and so were the drinks. It is a very casual bar and not far from the pool area.

Yelp
I was here years ago, and it is so great to see that nothing has changed at all in all that time. A great drink and some awesome conversation always.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite WDW resort lounges. It's tiny but so much fun. We usually sit at the bar and drink Key West Sunset Ale while chatting with the bartender.

Yelp
Come and relax in an casual, Key West, atmosphere. Great drinks, great food, and great bartenders. In Disney's Old Key West Resort.

Yelp
Reminds me of a little bar at a golf course. About six seats, just a hole in the wall more or less, with a few TVs showing whatever game is on. But grab your drink and go sit by the pool or canal and chill. They have specialty drinks, a standard bar menu and a few different beers -- nothing too fancy, but the local Key West ale is pretty good. Prices are kinda high as usual, this is not a shocker. The atmosphere is really like you're chilling in the Caribbean, and just adds to the vacationness of it all. Not as fancy or themed as some of the other resort lounges, but it fits well with OKW.

Yelp
Fun themed drinks and a beautiful location! The bar itself is small, limited seating, but The Suitcase is always my first stop checking into Old Key West. Grab a Rum Runner and stroll around the pool!

Yelp
We stopped by the Gurgling Suitcase mainly due to the eclectic name. It seemed charming, but is a bit on the small side. I decided to get a White Russian, a fairly simple drink. It ended up setting me back $9! I know it's Disney, but at $9 a drink, I would be poor if I spent an entire evening here.
