Gusto Handcrafted Pasta & Pizza

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Gusto Handcrafted Pasta and Pizza! Our server Destiny was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the focaccia bread with tapenade, garlic bread, and bruschetta — all fresh and full of flavor. The Diavola and Funghi pizzas were incredible, perfectly crisp and loaded with authentic ingredients. The Ravioli Funghi was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. And the tiramisu — absolutely to die for! One of the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves authentic Italian food and great service. Destiny made our evening even better — thank you for such a memorable dining experience!

Sort of found this spot by accident after a long drive and since the reviews were decent decided to give it a try. It was satisfying and good. Somewhat disappointed based on the glowing reviews but it was fine. We tried pepperoni pizza and the beet salad. Maybe the pasta is better? But based on these two dishes, not great food. Pizza was good and satisfied our hunger but somewhat above average. Not amazing for us as some reviewers say. The beet salad we actually enjoyed a lot more. Much better than expected. Service was good. Bread and spread that comes with it was good. Since the pepperoni was a little salty for my taste i took some off and using some of the spread actually made it much better.

Nice atmosphere and great staff, but the food was not good. Two stars for the garlic bread and spaghetti, but the chicken parmigiana was a disaster. It was made with chicken thigh instead of breast, leaving the breading soggy. Easily the worst chicken parm I’ve had. I've honestly had better frozen chicken parm than this.

We rolled into Gustos on a Sunday looking for an easy family win and walked out feeling like we’d found a keeper. The service was warm and effortless, the kind that makes you relax before the first bite. I always start with the fundamentals. Margherita pizza and spaghetti marinara. Simple on paper, brutal to do well. Gustos does them beautifully. The crust is crisp with that wood fired blister, the tomato tastes clean and bright, and the cheese lands rich without turning heavy. The spaghetti has real snap and the marinara is honest and lively, not sugary, not muddled, just right. Everything came out on point and consistent, like a kitchen that respects the basics and has nothing to prove. We left smiling, fed, and already planning the return. Thanks for a great night for my wife and kids.

The complimentary bread with tomato relish was really good. We had the early bird special, a lot of choices. I had pasta and my husband had san dabs very good. We also had the Caesar salad very nice. Wine was nice too. Happy hour from 4-6. No early bird on Friday and the weekend.

Came by with family and some friends while in town for the half marathon event. We had kids in our party and therefore decided to look for a nearby pizzeria. The place was packed and the parking lot was completely full. Service was prompt but the food took a really long time to arrive. The menu was extensive and everything looked delicious. We ordered 2 pizzas (burata and Carnivora), the proscuitto, linguine scampi, roasted pear salad and lasagne - all were really well done. Will definitely consider returning.

Authentic Carbonara! Now, if only they offered a Cacio e Pepe. The Butternut Squash Ravioli was a little sweet for my taste, seemed to throw off the balance a bit - but expertly prepared and delicious nonetheless. A beautiful tiramisu - made in-house.. Fine dining in a nearly casual atmosphere. Reasonably priced, wonderfully made, Italian fare. My only disappointment was the lack of an Insalata Caprese. Mangiamo!

We are local always drive by this restaurant. We were looking for something in the evening past 730 pm and this was open totally amazed very friendly service was fast food food was so delicious

Amazing food! This has officially become one of my favorite Italian restaurants. We came here on Saturday night with a reservation. If you don't come with a reservation and if they are full, they will not take you in. The hostess was very friendly , and Steven our server was incredible- so knowledgeable about the dishes, went above and beyond and very professional. The restaurant was pretty casual but the food was not "casual" at all. The carbonara was so good. The flavor of guanciale was the main character of this creamy dish with the right amount of cheese. I had an option to add more cheese but glad I didn't. They mixed the egg yoke in front of you which elevated the dining experience. I also really liked the beef pappardelle- it was a very balanced dish with plenty of very tender beef cooked in a wine sauce. We also had the burrata and prosciutto pizza. The pizza dough was airy and textures and thickness was perfect. I like how the prosciutto wasn't overly salty or overpowering and the combination of cheese, meat, tomato and pizza dough was simple and super tasty. I also love that they don't skim on the toppings- each pizza was well topped. The homemade focaccia and the olive dip were bomb.. so good! Food here was well priced, of generous portion and made with high quality cooking and ingredients. I can't stop thinking about it.

We recently had dinner at Gusto Italian, and overall it was a mixed experience. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere and the pasta definitely tastes fresh, which we really appreciated. However, the service felt a bit scattered. It seemed like there wasn't one specific server assigned to our table -- a few different people came by throughout the meal, and the main server who closed our check wasn't very attentive. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so it felt like there should have been a bit more attention to detail. We ordered the artichoke ravioli and the carbonara. The ravioli was delicious -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The carbonara, unfortunately, was way too salty. My husband barely touched it, and even though it was clear the plate was almost untouched, no one asked if something was wrong or offered to make it right, which was disappointing. We finished with the tiramisu, which was quite good and helped end the meal on a positive note. Gusto definitely has potential -- great ambience, fresh ingredients -- but the service and consistency in the food could use a little more care to match the beautiful setting.

Hey it's your birthday. Meet me at Gusto. Never been there? Me too but it's a nice quiet day in Seaside, perfect for Italian. If I were to make a movie, any movie, this place would would be in its opening scenes. Going inside with tables on the left and a beautifully built bar on the right. It's intimate. There's some age in this place, but it felt classic and well loved. I can imagine myself here on a rainy day with just a glass of wine with pasta or at the bar with Negroni in hand. It's my son's birthday. He chose this place. The food was delicious, elegant in its own way. Something about Italian food that gets to me, it slows you down, in a good way. You feel like you have all the time in the world to just talk and listen with whomever is in front of you

Made a reservation for 6 on a Saturday evening. My friends and I ordered some beverages which took a while to come. Also, when my whole table got their plates, we were served focaccia bread and a dip. That would have been nice to have before our food came. We went through our water pretty fast and had to ask two different staff members to get some water. I had asked our server if it was busy and he said it wasn't so I don't know what happened there. I ordered the Margherita pizza for my entree. It was just ok. I then ordered the Tiramisu for dessert and an espresso. The drink took a while again. One of the girls that worked there was a little rude when we asked for boxes and only returned with one. Maybe it was just an off night. I would try them again because my friend's pasta looked amazing. Also, they look like they have a great lunch menu and happy hour. Our server was friendly so no problem there.

We had a large group dinner here like 24 people and they were able document us. The service was good and the food was excellent. I would say it's a small to medium size restaurant so the service was adequate and everything came on time and the food was good and it's homemade including the sweets. I'll have to come back to other items in the future . Parking is adequate

I reserve the integrity of my 5 star reviews and let me just say Gusto got a 5 from me. I love the fact that I'm beyond was very open and inviting and not pretentious at all. It was very family friendly, especially since I have a 10 month old with me and my husband a very good old Italian restaurant to eat any day of the week food was super fresh and flavorful. We actually came here because they got a mention on the Michelin guide And I can see why we got the short rib ravioli and that was phenomenal. We got calamari as an appetizer and it was crispy with a huge portion. They have a craft cocktail list - the cocktails were just OK but they had a good wine selection. Prices were decent and they even have a local special during the week am parking in their lot. Service was very friendly overall I'm coming back here for sure!

Gusto was a fantastic surprise. I have to admit, I was a bit spectacle when we arrived. The building looks like it used to be a fast-food chain of some sort, perhaps with a drive-thru. Whatever it used to be, the Gusto owners did a great job of converting the space. Due to the structure, there is no real dining area. Small tables are set up up and down the corridors, surrounding the kitchen area. It's a funky little establishment that serves up some delicious Italian food! I believe their pasta is handmade, which is such a delightful rarity... especially for the very reasonable price point. Our server was also an absolute gem. This was the perfect meal after a day of exploring Big Sur.

What a fantastic restaurant. I'd read a bunch of reviews and decided to check it out on my trip to Seaside. It had an upscale diner vibe with a fun bar. The service was top rate and the bartender knew his way around the menu and wine list. Kudos to him! I started with a Caesar salad and glass of rose. The dressing on the salad was delicious and homemade as were the croutons. The real stand out dish was the shrimp scampi. It blew my socks off. I asked for extra Garlic and the kitchen delivered, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the dish featured lots of cheese, chewy tomatoes and chili's that were spicy.i have had a lot of shrimp scampi dishes in California and throughout New England and this dish blew all of the others away! Bread cane with the meal with a tasty dipping sauce. The couple sitting next to me both orders desserts that looked to die for. If only I'd had room. I get why the restaurant receives accolades as both the service and food are fantastic. I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

We arrived as the doors opened at 5 pm and were seated immediately. There were several people waiting in line. We were greeted by our waiter and handed the happy hour menu and he returned with water. I ordered a glass of local red wine and found it very satisfying. I had the Fettuccine Con Pollo Alfredo and it was delicious and I had to bring leftovers home. My son had the Ravioli Al Brasato da Manzo and he said it was really great. The pasta here is hand made and the sauces are made from scratch. They won the Michelin Guide Plate 2025 and after eating here you understand why. I followed up with the Berry Cobbler for dessert and I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I think it was black berries with blueberries (the berries in season). I encourage everyone to not leave without one!!! The restaurant was clean and the noise level was excellent we had no problems chatting with each other. Our service was impeccable from our waiter to everyone who stayed on top of our water to keeping our table clean! We will definitely visit again. Reservations strongly recommended. Thanks for a wonderful time!

I will surely call this place a hidden gem for travelers driving to Carmel by the sea. We were starving, and thanks to Yelp, we found this place. We checked reviews and photos, which made us even more hungry. We were seated where we had requested, and it was a hot day, so I immediately ordered cold water with lemon. Then I looked around and saw a few people who had ordered late lunch like us. The service was terrific, and Vanessa was very polite and efficient. Food came fast, and we loved this place more and more. This place is in Sand City, very close to the freeway, and has its parking area. Food was served fresh and hot, and the presentation was fascinating. I highly recommend it and would love to visit again while driving south of the town. The pizza was severely lacking and flavor, for the price was severely underwhelmed, will not be back

Qe were just driving around looking for a spot to eat and came across this pizza place. Our pizza was great just a typical pepperoni pizza but it was really good. Granddaughter devoured it before I grabbed a Pic. Gelato ice cream was delush too. They served us without reservations, which was really nice of them. Our waitress was really sweet and checked on us from time to time.. busy place, more than I would have thought. But it's a cool place. We sat at the bar and watched them make pizzas.

Drove up from SoCal to stay in seaside for the weekend and this place was right next to our hotel... WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! My boyfriend and I weren't expecting much since we had arrived an hour and a half before closing. But we were starving from our drive and didn't want to eat fast food so once we saw this place was still opened we rushed from our hotel. The service was great, our server was this sweet older man and he was so tentative. The restaurant was nice and clean, the decor was typical of an Italian family restaurant. Free bread 10/10: my boyfriend and I enjoyed the free bread so much I had to include it. Nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside, but the real star was the dipping sauce that came with it. I wish I had asked what jt was but it was sooo good that I wish it came bottled so I could take home. Calamari 10/10: the squid meat was perfectly tender, it had a nice chewy texture. Not the overcooked type of chew, it had a great bite to it. The batter was seasoned and light, complimenting the squid rather than overpowering it. The marinara sauce was so delicious as well, paired way better than any cocktail sauce that calamari usually comes with. Lasagna 10/10: probably the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. EVERY PART OF IT TASTED SO FRESH! And like look at the photo, it's so gorgeous!! Safe to say I ate the whole plate. Pizza: my boyfriend got the pizza and he really enjoyed it. He said he liked how it was crisp at the bottom and the toppings tasted great. Overall, we had a great experience here and if our schedule for the weekend wasn't so packed we definitely would've came back to try more things.

Come to Gustos with my husband on our weekend away. We were given complementary breast with a dip which was pretty good. Might have eaten a bit too much to finish my meal but it was worth it. My husband had a jalapeño margarita which he really enjoyed. I had the tiramisu martini which was good. I'm not a big drinker so it was a little much for me. Husband enjoyed the shrimp pasta and I had the beef bourguignon which was delicious. And we shared the Diablo pizza which was the best thing. We definitely ordered too much but we were okay with the leftovers. I was given the wrong meal at dinner at first but the service was so kind and friendly throughout the night that I didn't even mind. Our waiter was so nice. We would go back when in town.

Fast service. Polite. Nice. Good food. Good wine. Now this was a GREAT dining experience! Service was fast, the staff was polite, friendly, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. Simply amazing, perfectly cooked, and came out fairly quickly. The wine selection was excellent, as were the wine recommendations. I loved every part of this meal and visit and will most certainly return. Truly a spectacular experience from start to end.

Fantastic food, great service, made reservations, we were seated right away. Their handcrafted pastas & pizzas were so good! We enjoyed everything we ordered: calamari, Bolognese with spaghetti, Linguini con Scampi, Burrata e Prosciutto & Diavola pizza. The cannoli & panna cotta desserts were also delicious. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area.

Fantastic Italian restaurant that serves as one of the many beating hearts of Seaside! My wife and I have been coming here for a few years and recently moved even closer, so this is now our go to Italian spot. Consistently great food, service and ambiance at a reasonable price and convenient location. Food/Drink: While Gusto excels at everything, their food is the highlight of the experience. They start you off with a complimentary order of bread for the table which is amazing (see picture) and they're not shy about getting you more if you eat it as quickly as I usually do. I know it may seem silly to praise a restaurant for providing complimentary bread but I feel like this has become less common in recent years. I've had their pizza, pasta and sandwiches, with every dish being beautifully crafted in not only taste but also texture! The photos I've attached are of their lunch special sandwiches which were amazing and incredibly priced. Best of all they came with Beer Battered Fries! The wine selection is fairly limited but there is a good representation of varietals and something for everyone. There was a separate page of Italian wines but I'm not much for old world wines and therefore have not ordered from that page. Service: Consistently great! I find myself repeating this in reviews but service needs to be a fine touch. Too little and the experience is obviously bad, but too much and it can be equally as bad. Gusto's staff strikes a nice balance of being there when you need them, but not lingering over your shoulder. Ambiance: Light and approachable. While some Italian restaurants adopt the darker, cozy romantic vibe, Gusto elects for a much more bright and airy feel. The restaurant itself has windows all over letting in plenty of natural light and the color scheme inside uses a lot of whites and reds, with some wood accents.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town for my birthday and craving pizza--Gusto popped up first on Yelp, so we decided to give it a try... and it ended up being perfect. We arrived right at opening (4pm) on a Tuesday and were the first ones in. We ordered the artichoke ravioli, a pepperoni pizza, and I got the peanut butter espresso martini (which was delicious). Our server recommended the sea salt caramel apple martini too, and I'm so glad I tried it--SO good! The food was absolutely on point. We had never had artichoke ravioli before, and it was such a pleasant surprise--super flavorful and well made. Our table was always clean, and someone was always checking in on us. I think our server's name was Diego--he was incredible. Even as the restaurant started to fill up, he was managing multiple tables, taking care of bar guests, and making drinks, all while giving amazing service. We wanted to thank him on the way out, but he was busy behind the bar doing what he does best. For a birthday dinner we picked on a whim, it couldn't have gone better. If you're in the area, Gusto is definitely worth a visit. Cozy vibe, great food, and truly impressive service!

All in all great experience. Parking lot is small but didn't have trouble finding a spot. Ambiance was very nice and pleasant. We got seated right away. The waiters were very nice and attentive and they came by to tip off our water cup a few times. Restaurant was very clean including the bathrooms. For starter they gave us French bread with an oil base dipping which was a 5/5. So yummy! I could just eat that for lunch and be just as happy. We ordered off the lunch specials. And received our food pretty quickly. I got chicken Parmagino with a side of spaghetti with Alfredo sauce. My spaghetti noodles were made fresh and may have been the best pasta I've had. Alfredo sauce was also very good. My sister for the grilled chicken sandwich with pesto sauce with a side of fries. Their French fries were super crispy and fresh. Sandwich was yummy and huge for a lunch portion. The only reason I rated this experience overall as a 4/5 is because the chicken is pretty thin therefore possible overcooked. The edges of the chicken were a little tough. But since I had sauce on it, it helped. Also the price for lunch specials were fair. I would recommend this place for brunch/lunch/ or dinner!!! Get it a chance!

I really don't understand why this restaurant is on the Michelin guide and am appalled by the yelp elites leaving 5 star reviews. This restaurant is underwhelming under seasoned reheated Italian food lacking flavor - frozen Michael Angelo's is better . If you're looking for Italian food go somewhere else. However, their pizza is not bad so do come for that. I blame Michelin for misguiding me : ( Calamari - 3/10 The squid ring section of the calamari was EXTREMELY CHEWY. I was chewing on the piece for over 20 seconds. Overcooked RUBBERY TRASH. I asked the server and he gave me a small plate of a new batch. Still chewy but a bit better - I'm sure it's frozen and tossed in the fryer. The tentacles weren't bad. Note - I'm comparing this to the calamari from Scott's seafood so the bar is set very high. Big portions but I could do without. Wish I didn't order and I wasted food (something I rarely do) Margherita Pizza - 7.5/10 Very solid standard pizza but lacking in flavor. Crust is not as thin as one would expect. It does past the "bend" test. But the dough is too thick and not crispy like a standard marg. The sauce on the pizza was lacking flavor but the basil and cheese carried. If you're not a huge foodie you would think this was great. I personally Wouldn't come back for the pizza tho. Chicken Parm 1/10 What in GODS NAME was this dish?????My boyfriend (the least picky person in the world) didn't even finish his food. The chicken itself was under season and soggy. (Yes I understand that it is covered In sauce but it felt like the food was just reheated in the microwave) there was no finesse to this dish. Soggy bland chicken with tomato sauce with zero flavor. A can of RAOs marinara sauce would done better. The pasta ..... was DOG. I was expecting something yummy since it's made in house but WTF I was WRONG. pasta was undercooked and chewy. Similar to a play dough texture all gummy in my teeth DO NOT ORDER I SWEAR FROZEN MEALS ARE BETTER. Overall service was great. Very nice and pleasant staff. My two stars don't go to them and they are rated off the food itself.

I thought this place was a bit pricy but the portion sizes were quite big especially for the rigatoni bolognese. The rigatoni in my rigatoni bolognese was a bit undercooked for my liking but it was still pretty good overall. If you come early on weekdays until 6 pm there is an early bird dinner menu where some pastas are about $10 off!

They Make Their Own Pasta. Need I say more? It's delicious and I appreciate that they have several vegetarian options. My spouse has a goal to try the entire menu and has thus far enjoyed it all. We can't wait to go back.

We spent the weekend in seaside and was really surprise to find such a great italian place there! The pizza was as good as any we had around the bay area, the pasta was perfect as well. Everything we order was great, service and ambiance is on point as a family style italian spot.

Restaurant was very friendly fast service kid, friendly moderate noise the ambience was excellent. The food was amazing and it was served very fast.

Authentic Italian pizza and pasta restaurant, crowded on a Sunday night before Labor Day but service was still very good and everything came out fast for our group. Perfect for family gatherings and large groups.

Came to Monterey for the half marathon and met up with a friend, who has a toddler and who lives in the area, for lunch. This place is a gem! We all had pasta and pizza. I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and I never had a legit Italian Carbonara here in the US. The smokiness of the guanceali and the very obvious house made pasta blew me away. On top of that, they mix in the egg yolk right there in front of you! Beautiful presentation! What made them above and beyond is that they brought in a plate of pizza dough for the toddler to play with! Genius! Our waiter was so attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He made recommendations and suggestions. I will definitely come back to this place whenever I'm in the area to try all the dishes on their menu.

The food was so good! We ordered two pizzas & a garden salad with chicken. The attention and enthusiasm from our server was unique & made our visit a really good one, so service 10/10. We will definitely come back.

Found this place as it has gotten a Michelin recognition. Parking was plentiful, and the place was crowded. We had reservations, so we were seated quickly. We had a large group, so we ordered pizza as an appetizer. The waiter also recommended the caprese salad. That was a mistake. The tomato was not ripe. That site has had multiple different restaurants throughout the years, and I was looking forward to eating here. The Rigatoni Bolognese was very good, and the pizza I mentioned earlier (Funghi) was also good. I am sure the recognition the restaurant got with the award will keep the place crowded, but there are other options in Seaside/Monterey I will be trying on my next visit.

my boyfriend and I want as a late lunch/ early dinner on the last day of our anniversary trip before heading home. because of this we got some of the early bird specials and loved them! my boyfriend got the chicken parmigiano and he thought it was delicious. i got the spaghetti alle vongole and it was magnificent! truly so good! only wish there was a bit more, i did leave still a little hungry but that's okay! may have been just me. but the most impressive part was the service. like actually wow. we didn't even have to pour our own water even though the water jug was left on our table. they left it for convenience but if they saw our water glass getting low, they would come fill it. also, spot on with cleaning the tables and asking how the food was. it was great. we had a wonderful experience!!

Hear me out... All their pastas and lasagnas have a Chef Boyardee taste, simply repackaged as family diner quality Italian food. I know they make their pizza dough and pastas in house; but there's just not enough flavor to go around. We were shocked considering their reviews on Yelp. But also, a lot of food is overrated in touristy areas so there's that. It's hard to get a lasagna I don't care for but theirs is overcooked noodle with barely any sauce. None of that hearty tomato flavor. Their noodles all tasted either overcooked (spaghetti) or undercooked and harder to chew (like the seafood pasta). The seafood pasta was super boring with no flavor. No mussels, clams, nada. Nothing stood out. Not the service, the food, nor the ambience. I do not recommend.

Both food and service were great. We took advantage of the early bird menu and the prices were reasonable with the understanding that portions were smaller but were perfect for us.

Food was excellent! I had the margherita pizza and my boyfriend had the Carnivora pizza. *chefs kiss* definitely recommend!

I love their food here! The fresh pasta and delicate dessert was a perfect combo. Their food is made with love and feels as close to homemade as one can get. The filling within the ravioli was amazing!

The service was quick and we got our order fast. The pizza was a little spicy but still good. The carbonara was good too.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation here at the last minute, 20 minutes before we arrived, for a party of 9. My family all had something different. one person had the mushroom ravioli. it was wonderful. the taste of the mushroom came through nicely and the sauce didn't mask the flavors at all. I had a traditional carbonara. I loved the presentation and how the waitress who presented it to me mixed in the egg yolk. it was not only fun to watch but it was so delicious. My lil girl shared that with me as well as a pizza full of all kinds of meat toppings. The Mr also shared the pizza with us. My sis had the seasonal duck pizza that had the ever so delicately sliced peaches on it as well as what looked like tender raspberries. the flavor was definitely full bodied and yet delicate because of the raspberry and peach combination. Service was good but I wish they were a little bit more attentive. My lil one needed a few things and we always could use more napkins considering how many children we had in our party. Actually, the number of children in our group outnumbered the amount of adults we had. Water on our table was almost always in need. Simple condiments weren't available unless it was upon request. I understand the need to be more "classy" in providing things such as freshly ground black pepper. . . but sometimes it is just as nice to have it available at your desire. Side note: My sister who had the seasonal duck pizza ended up getting sick after re-heating her pizza and having it later that same evening after it being refrigerated immediately after taking it home. Not necessarily the fault of the restaurant but just a heads up.

I knew the service was going to be great the moment I walked in - I was immediately greeted by a friendly server who seemed happy to be there. Once I was seated, he recommended a Limonata (Italian soda) after I told him I didn't want anything sweet and OMG, where has this soda been all my life?! It was a perfect combination a zesty, tart, and sweet (barely sweet). So refreshing! The beet salad did not disappoint. My taste buds were having a party with every bite. The earthiness of the beets, the tang of the cheese, and the crisp greens were perfectly complimented with a light honey-Dijon vinaigrette and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Last but not least, I ordered the Margherita pizza. Not my favorite part of the meal but maybe because I was pretty full and satisfied with the salad by the time I had a slice of pizza. Overall a pretty pleasant lunch experience at a clean and quiet restaurant away from the crowds. Worth the 15 min uber drive from Pacific Grove to Seaside.

My sister recently moved to this area, and after a long weekend of moving this was the last restaurant we ate at, and was the most memorable! We were able to make a reservation online, and upon getting to Gusto's we were sat at a high top, which is hard on my dad. The host was very gracious and moved us to a lower table, and we got to keep our original server, Destinee. She was FABULOUS. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Everyone who worked there in general was lovely- 10/10 on the staff all around. The food was to die for. I work at an Italian restaurant and don't generally go out to Italian much, and I'm so glad I did. It was one of the best Italian meals out I've had in a very long time. My sister and I split the beet salad and mushroom ravioli and both were fantastic. My niece got another ravioli dish with truffle and it was AMAZING! And step mom got the gnocchi app, which was also delicious. Anytime we're in town, I'll be coming by Gusto. Thank you for the great meal and service!

The place itself was super nice and warm. Staff greeted us upon arriving and were super attentive (Noticed when water needed refilling, took away our plates when done, etc). Our waitress started the night off with some complimentary bread which was delicious with the sauce on the side (Not exactly sure what it's called). Next, we ordered the rigatoni bolognese and the chef's special, a steak that came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Rigatoni was a bit over cooked but the bolognese was good. The steak itself isn't something to die for, mashed potatoes lacked a bit of seasoning and the vegetables were good. Overall, it was a nice restaurant to try but I wouldn't choose to come here again.

Such a gem in Monterey. Off the touristy center, a warm restaurant with homemade pizza and pasta. And they're both delicious. No miss on this menu, eggplant parm to die for, scampi and Alfredo absolutely perfect. One of the best Italian food I have had in a while. And the service is impeccable, the restaurant clean, well decorated and welcoming. Absolutely will come back.

Great service, friendly staff, and delicious food! Very kids friendly too! We were celebrating three generations together and everyone loved the food. I'm pretty picky about my tomato sauce but Gusto's was delicious.

Food was great and service was ok. My server in particular was a little down in the dumps and most likely over worked. She did well though. Hmm... Pizza was ok. Crust could have had a little more crisp on the bottom. It was a big soggy.

This is a strange one because I am knocking a star for the kid's spaghetti marinara. The noodles were starchy and either overcooked. Everything else was pretty great. We loved the diavolo pizza and the roasted beet salad. The pizza had an amazingly thin, crispy crust and the salad was so tasty. Service was on point except they forgot wifey's drink order. Fun atmosphere with an open kitchen so you can see how the magic is made.

I wanted some good pasta and seen very good reviews so we decided to give it a shot or lunch. When we came it was clean and empty we were sat immediately by this lady and which ended up being our waitress Very good food VERY good service . Big smile throughout gave good recommendations we tried the grilled peach salad and lunch chicken parm. All soo good. Cooked perfectly. Checked in multiple times and refilled our drinks every so often. Ended with a tiramisu Also the boy who I believe was the busser packaged our food for us ! I'm not sure many restaurants package your food for you and bag it but it was a nice detail that was very appreciated. Lastly the bartender was a girl with blonde hair Checked up on us as well very nice We ended up coming again Yesterday after not coming for a couple weeks since lunch and actually got the same server and seen the other workers as well from the lunch. We tried a Caesar salad and a chicken parmesan wanted to try the artichoke ravioli but maybe next time all all good. Presley service was great both times. it's very hard these days to find people who genuinely know how to hold a conversation. Things like that are small to some but very important. Very fast and efficient. Also she mentioned the name of the other girl was Destiny and the boy name was Carlos. Honestly perfect service all around. All great service workers. Will be back again

Made a trip to Costco and wanted to find a place close by. We wanted to like this place. It has good reviews, super clean inside, the wait staff were professional and super friendly. Also ample parking. The food just lacked flavor, specifically the Caesar and the pasta. Maybe the chef was off this night. One other issue to us was we felt the pricing was too high for what we were served.

Nice place friendly employees we had the Fungi Pizza and Carnivora Pizza and they were so good we came few days later and I ordered Short Ribs and Linguine Con Scampi we also got Margarita Pizza and Diavola Pizza everything was delicious I wish we had this restaurant in our town

The carbonara and the meatballs as an appetizer were amazing!! Wonderful customer service as well.

Food was good but not great. Service was average. Ambience was loud and crowded. Price was in the mid range for decent food.

A few caveats, I ordered the food to go, so no idea about the dine in experience. This restaurant touts itself as handmade pasta. There are many reviews that love their food and a good number of detractors. Based solely on the food to go I'm more toward the detractors. I've had italian food all over the world and all over Italy. So I've tried everything from the basic takeout to michelin star and everything in between. We ordered a carnivore pizza and it was decent enough I would say 3.5-4 star. Crust has a nice char, the cheese was in weird big chunks though. Next we ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was way overcooked and gluey. That means the pasta itself wasn't made right and then it was super overcooked. The sauce could have used more seasoning oregano, somethibg. The meatballs also had this odd texture almost like they were frozen. Overall if I had gotten this from one of those neighborhood no name pizza places I would have been fine with it. I expected more and sadly they didn't deliver. Unless you are close by, I would probably go elsewhere.
