Cabbagetown Atlanta Restaurant JenChan’s Gets Approved for an On-Street Dining Parklet on Carroll Street | Eater Atlanta

"I read that Gusto! will open a sixth metro Atlanta restaurant at the Parkaire Landing development in East Cobb this summer; it will be the second location with a drive-thru, joining the Chamblee location." - Beth McKibben

This was my first experience at Gustos, and it was very disappointing. The restaurant did not feel clean or sanitary—the floors were dirty, which immediately raised concerns about overall cleanliness. Several employees were standing around on their phones with AirPods in while handling food, which felt unprofessional and unsanitary. On top of that, the atmosphere was negative and unwelcoming. There was no positive energy or friendly customer service, which made the experience uncomfortable. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this visit did not reflect a clean, professional, or customer-focused environment. I would not return based on this experience.

I was able to try gusto! through work and it was very good! They had prebuilt bowls and I chose the tahini cucumber feta. I ended up not using all of the provided sauce but it was very tasty and it made me feel good (more healthy than other food options). We also got sweet potato chips and a cookie. I got to try the chocolate chip cookie and the salted caramel (?) cookie- both were crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle, very delicious. We also got a gallon of the limeade, which I can say I was not a fan of. It was so sour and the taste was very off-putting, however that was the only item I didn’t like.

We consistently find the food to be fresh and flavorful. There have been nice seasonal menu additions, which have expanded the options available for our family. Service is always friendly and as accommodating as they can be given that certain ingredients are already mixed together in the morning preparation.

I had their Mediterranean bowl and I subbed the sauce for a dairy free option. For a clean eating place I was a bit disappointed with their lack of gluten free AND dairy free options. It was one or the other but not both. They don’t really offer a lot of bowls, it’s a very minimal eat spot. Despite their lack of options for people with dietary restrictions, their portion sizes were very generous. I felt like I got an adequate amount of protein for what I paid and they do don’t skimp on that. The lemonades are good, but very sugary

I had a strange experience today. I ordered through the drive through. When I got my order I didn’t see the sweet potato chips in the bag. I was told they had increased their portions so they had stopped including the chips. When I opened the bowl at home, I saw that it was only half full and the bowl was the same size as before. It felt like I had been lied to.

The delicious, healthy, culturally themed bowls served at Gusto are tasty, but could offer a little more in the serving size as the bowls are costly for being mostly brown rice. Also, some of the dishes could use a bit more flavor. However, as I have visited 2 of Gusto's locations and, I enjoyed the catored meal from them when I attended an event. I must say they do employ very friendly people, and the healthy food concept is a fesh welcomed change from the usual fast food choices.

We got the Sweet Spot Sriracha and Tahini Cucumber with half rice and half greens, both with chicken. I opted to purchase 2 flatbread which we definitely didn't need to complete the order. The salads, which I'll call them, were delicious! I read the other comments - You have to consider when ordering To Go that these are dressed salads, so they need to be eaten right away or they will be soggy. Ours were not. The sweet potato chips were crispy and yummy, and included in the price! It was a little more, but I feel the fresh vegetables and fantastic employees were worth it! The only downside to this location is the very confusing entrance and drive thru, but if you were a patron of Moe's I guess that won't bother you much. I will say it caught me off-guard in this Covid she that you were required to use a touch pad at the drive thru. I was happy to tip the crew, but prefer not to have to sign with my finger. All in all I will say this was a great experience and we will likely be back! Welcome to the neighborhood!
