Gustos

Gustos is AMAZING. They sell a fusion of Mexican and Venezuelan food. Firstly, the food is delicious! I tried a new Hawaiian burger and it was seriously one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The combination of flavors is something that you can’t explain, you have to try it yourself to understand how good it is. Secondly, the service is great. The owner was the one that took care of us and made our food. He was really kind, welcoming, and friendly. I’d recommend this place a thousand times.☺️🍔

Three of us ate there on New Year’s Eve for dinner, the food was fabulous. We ordered enchilada and my friend ordered Mole. He said that it was the best mole he has had in Chicago. We brought a bottle of margaritas (BYOB) and enjoyed the food even more. There’s a liquor store right next to the restaurant- perfect! The owner came out and chatted with us. They will be getting an all new menu in a couple of weeks. We ended our meal with a large piece of tres leches cake. OMG! It was incredible! Excellent meal here! Thank you

I’ve gotten food from here a number of times with my girlfriend. The vibe dining in is not fantastic for a date night, but I could see it being a blast with a large group. The service can be a bit slow at times, but the staff is always kind. Food is amazing. The birria has been great every time and the torta is one of the best I’ve ever had. I also appreciate how it’s BYOB.

I really wanted to love this place given its high rating. Unfortunately, I do feel it’s a bit high. The tacos are decent but tiny (two bites tops) and had 3 leaves of cilantro. The burrito has lettuce that is cut too thick and the burrito itself could use more meat. The birria meat itself is great but the arepa leaves much to be desired. The chips and guac comes with very few chips that were stale. The guac itself is under salted. Overall, it’ll satisfy you but level of quality leaves much to be desired.

Short version: high quality food in generous portions for very reasonable prices. Long version: we stopped in randomly for Taco Tuesday and came away really happy. First of all, where can you find $2 tacos anymore even on Taco Tuesday?! But more importantly, all the of the tacos (asada, chicken, pastor, carnitas) we had were very good. I like to get a regular chicken taco at any taqueria/restaurant because if they can do that well then most things are likely to be good. I'm happy to report that it was flavorful, tender and juicy. Also, the carnitas (a special that day) was some of the best I've had in the past few years. Really well seasoned and cooked excellently. We also ordered two empanadas which were large and fairly priced. The pabellon (black beans, shredded beef and plantains) was a highlight. It had a crispy and fluffy crust that reminded me of an arepa's bread. I hope this place sticks around a long time. I'd be there weekly if I lived in the neighborhood.

Called and ordered to go. We used the number on Instagram (under contact) to order. The service was friendly and quick. They have a huge menu with a lot of unique items. We got burritos and taquitos durados, all of which were very good and well portioned. For the price, this place is excellent and I'm excited to have it on Argyle. Four of us went for dinner yesterday. Food was delicious (big portions), staff was polite, and we will definitely be back! (Sandwiches are messy in the absolute best way so be prepared; your stomach will thank you!)

I'm so glad this place is in the neighborhood. I walked in on a whim this evening. First, they were really kind. I was 14 cents short 🫠🙄😫 and they covered me for it, which is incredibly kind. Second, it is so cute inside! It's simple, but welcoming. They have huge bay windows that open to the street and lights strung up over the ceiling. I got an arepa for my Person and a chicken and steak taco. We both enjoyed our food quite a bit. It was a good price for the amount we received. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu (and bringing enough for a decent tip) next time.

The food was amazing. A bit of a wait but I Don't mind when I know it's being made fresh. Thanks had the Birria Ramen bowl and it's delicious. My friend had an arepa and also loved it.
