I'm so bummed to report that Flavortown let me down.
I went for dinner on a Sunday night with some friends, and we were seated right away. The place was not terribly busy at the time, and we received prompt and attentive service throughout.
I ordered the veggie burger, as it was the only vegetarian option on the menu. I've been an herbivore in the midwest for many years at this point, so I am no stranger to a lack of options or mediocre veggie burgers, but this particular one stands out.
The patty smelled like it would taste like something, savory spices and such, but it just didn't. One of my dining companions tried it and described it as "negative flavor." The same, unfortunately, goes for the whole wheat bun. I couldn't tell you what it tasted like, because there wasn't anything there. The only discernable flavor was plain vinegar from the shredded lettuce. I have never had a burger with vinegar-dressed lettuce on it, and it might have been OK if the rest of the components had contributed anything. As it was, the vinegar alone could not carry this sandwich.
My margarita was decent, if not particularly strong. The fries (a blend of regular, curly, and waffle) were hot, fresh, and seasoned well.
I might not have been so disappointed by the world's blandest veggie burger if I hadn't enjoyed it in an establishment that calls itself Flavortown. I would typically give places another go, but I'm not sure if this single veggie option would be worth the return trip.
