Guzman y Gomez - Naperville

Been going to this place for a while now. Gotta say the tacos and burritos are truly excellent! We can order from the app (which gives free burrito when you sign up and you actually get reward bucks to use on your purchases!) and the order is accurate...for the most part. The one big ding is that the times they say are a bit generous. I say add 10 minutes to the states times. But when you get the food, it's good! And huge portions! The burrito is huge! You'll be full from that alone! And its so good! I do love their spicy chicken with habanero salsa burrito, a must try! Who knew a Mexican restaurant that was founded in Australia would be so good!!

My husband and I both had burrito bowls; yummy. As well as soft serve ice cream in a cup. We greatly appreciate restaurants that use sustainable materials; here, their burrito bowls come in a paper/cardboard bowl. However, they still use plastic forks, plastic drink cups, and plastic containers for ice cream. We probably won't be back because of all the plastic. We go repeatedly to places that use real forks, ceramic bowls, etc. But it was good food and the vibe was nice.

My friends and I stopped in after shopping and we’re so glad we did! We had never been here before, but the reviews looked good, so we gave it a try. The food was delicious (the steak tacos were the star!) and the service was above and beyond. Lil George made us feel so welcome. He explained the menu, gave us great recommendations, and even remade my enchilada without rice when I mentioned I wasn’t a fan. That level of care is rare these days! He even surprised us with cards for free breakfast burritos. Great tacos, cold drinks (beer + frozen margaritas!), and truly five star customer service. We’ll definitely be back!

Their breakfast menu ends at 10am so make a note of that. However, they still accommodated me when I ordered breakfast. Very welcoming, and pricing wasn't bad. Food was really good although I do wish there was more to the avocado toast. They do have a toppings station, so I could have created a nice toast myself, but sometimes you don't have the time to check. Still good and worth stopping by if you want an alternative to the major brands.

This is my first time here. I came on a buy one get one free promotion for the burrito. There is a lot of seating inside and pretty typical for a fast food restaurant. The service is top notch and you are greeted by someone as you walk through the door with a "HOLA", which I loved! Today I ordered my food to go. I bought the basic chicken burritos, as a side note you can get a number of different types of meat in your burrito. I didn't need to wait very long for my food and I could even see them making it. When I was handed my bag I almost dropped it due to its weight. WOW, these burritos are stuffed! Once I got home I was pleased to see the size and all the different things inside. Now just be warned there is not a lot of meat in these burritos, but since I'm not a big meat eater they were perfect for me. Flavor wise, they were very very mild, so if you don't eat Mexican food because of the spice, this one is for you. All in all, for fast food I gave it 4 stars, if I wanted what I call authentic Mexican food I'd head to a number of other restaurants where it's all homemade. But this place is top notch and much better than other fast food. I'd come back again just to try other things and make it spicy!

Heard of Guzman y Gomez from a YouTube video. They are really good. Had the cantinas burrito and fries and a chicken quesadilla. Restaurant was clean. Staff was very nice. GM of the store Mike came and visited with us and recommended sauces and dessert. Would highly recommend.

We came in to use the coupon we got, buy one get one…the place and staffs are very welcoming! Pricing is not bad, most food are under $10 with larger size only a few bucks more You order at the front counter but they do bring your food to your table, order were made fast Honestly it taste better than it looks and there more steak than most taco place lol Breakfast menu from 7-10am looks pretty good

Yum! Fresh. Warm and fun service. Big George is all smiles and Little George is full of enthusiasm for good reason. Food is made fresh daily and you can TASTE it. The chips and guac was next level. We had a chicken quesadilla, steak taco, brisket taco and a carnitas burrito bowl. Similar but WAY better than Chipotle. And the salsa bar is much appreciated. The mild pork (zero heat) was so savory and crispy too and I could up the heat on my own so it was easy to share with my daughter! Will be back for breakfast next time! Thanks George and George.

I stopped by here for lunch since I work down the street and I think chipotle is a better deal. The quality is about the same and the food is fairly average. However, the quantities they give are smaller. It's not as filling as chipotle. The tacos tasted good. Nothing out of the ordinary but they definitely skimped on the meat. Same goes for the burrito bowl I tried.

I wanted to like it. I went twice. Got tacos the first time and I ordered thru the drive thru .they told me they didn't have salsa. Ok- not all places will give me extra salsa to pour on the tacos. They were SO DRY it was awful. About 5 months later I got a carnitas burrito- huge chunks of meat like 3 inch by 2 in that were impossible to eat with breaking up. One side of burrito was cold from the cheese and sour cream that I could feel thru the wrapping . By the time I got it home max 10 min later it was all cold. Never again.

I called to confirm that the meat is no longer halal. please check before you order. too bad as this looked like a great Mexican option

I'm a simple man. Give me a competent breakfast taco or burrito and I am content. The breakfast burrito here is better than competent. It's really good. I'm not suggesting anyone should drive half an hour out of their way for it, but it's great if you're in the area. The place has a bit of a fast food vibe inside, but it's very clean and nothing looks cheap. The woman working the counter was friendly and polite. Really, no complaints. Better than average food at a fair price. And who doesn't like a good breakfast taco/burrito?

Today was my first time seeing this restaurant and I completely understand how they have a chain. They know what they're doing. Food is great and I personally really enjoy the option to have a mini burrito bowl. Perfect size for me. Service was excellent. The cashier was friendly and informative. Ambiance is perfect. It was an inviting yet clean/professional atmosphere. Great job guys! I plan to return for sure. Thank you!

I have been a loyal once a week customer since they opened, however today is my last visit. The tacos are thrown together sloppy when you go through the drive thru. A large Queso is now 2 smalls with no pico toppings and a handful of chips for $6.00 You should realize there are a lot of places to get a taco & you should have keep your standards up

Guzman y Gomez is a solid fast casual Mexican restaurant that leans slightly American, but still sticks to its culinary roots. If you're looking for a burrito, bowl, tacos, with some Corona and margaritas, you can get that here! I like dining in as seats and tables are plentiful. The interior design is varied and is insta-worthy. Sides include fries which you can top with queso. Churros here are decent, but you have to pay extra for chocolate and caramel sauces. Guzman y Gomez doesn't break the bank, and I prefer it to more expensive places that have a 1 hour wait. Whether it's to go or dining in, you can't go wrong.

The app is kinda confusing or atleast it was for me. I should have left it as "black beans" and "white rice" but the way I read it I chose the pinto and brown rice. I brought it back and apologized that I made a mistake on the app and if they would remake it for me. She said no, I would have to buy a new burrito. Guess it's back to chipotle full time for me. Adios.

I got a chicken bowl today and it was burnt and saggy, very disappointed with the plate

It is August and as of 6 months ago we can't get enough of "Guzman y Gomez" FANTASTIC FRESH HOMEMADE (yes it is custom made right at the restaurant) FOOD." EVERYONE from the employees to the managers are personal, caring and super to be around. We are blessed as this restaurant treats you like YOU are apart of their FAMILY! Bravo to our second FAMILY, "Guzman y Gomez!" We are so HAPPY you came to Naperville, Illinois.

I ordered fries, a hard taco with chicken and a bowl with black beans, guacamole and sour cream..The service was great, on time and very fresh. The bowl was a lot so I'll be eating it up over the next few days. I will order again. ​

First time. I was looking for something quick and good. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and atmosphere.

Solid 4 stars from me. My friend had told me this place is kinda like the Burger King of Mexican food. Ok, I found it a little nicer than BK. Staff Christina quickly greeted me. I opted for a spicy chicken burrito bowl with black beans. Food was a little pricey in my opinion. Portion size was small, I should have ordered a side too. Chicken was pretty flavorful. Inside was super clean. Decent place and personally I'm not a big fan of Chipotle. Come here instead.

After asking for an email review, Guzman y Gomez forwarded it to a customer support person that "can do anything without a copy of my receipt". Who keeps copies of a fast food receipt from weeks ago. I posted the review to point out how this isn't customer friendly... not try to do a forensic investigation. You don't need a copy of my receipt to know your own internal menu prices.

Every time I come here their place is super clean and... empty. Why?!? The food, the service, the ambiance is great for a quick service casual dining spot. You're missing out if you're not coming here. Until the end of August if you spend $15 on food you can get $3 margaritas and Coronas.

Quick update; the customer service team also doesn't seem to reply to emails. I sent an email and got an automated reply with a ticket number, but nothing else for a week. So it doesn't look like they refund messed up orders.

I'm gonna get straight to the point: I don't like this place anymore. I will share pics and my reasons why. I ordered a California burrito, three soft shell steak tacos, and three hard shell ground beef tacos. In my California burrito, there were more fries than meat. I was eating more tortilla than anything else, which means the burrito wasn't filled with much. The soft shell taco consisted of one shell. Not suppose to happen. And it wasn't filled with much. The hard shell tacos were on point. I spent good money on this, and this is what I get in return? "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME???" a quote from the movie "The Contractor" and yes, that is meant to be yelling.

Quick service with fresh ingredients. Seating area is much nicer than most fast food places. You can get beer, and they have a good breakfast menu. Drive through available. Tortilla chips always come out warm.

The staff here were very friendly and food was served quickly. Pricing is reasonable. Their enchiladas are really a burrito with sauce. The portion size is good and it comes with guac. Inside the burrito it was rice, black beans, and pulled pork. I thought the meat was good but there was too much rice and beans. Sauce, cheese, pico, and Guac came on top with a handful of chips on the side. Our guac was a dark green/brown color which means it's getting old, visually it shouldn't have been served, it also didn't taste very good. I had queso on the side and it was bad. It tasted like spiced sour cream, didn't taste like cheese dip at all to me.

I tried the breakfast burrito today. It was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Well done guys!

I was craving Mexican food so we made a stop here for a late lunch. I ordered the nachos with ground beef and they were beyond what I would have expected. Almost like Chipotle when they first opened. The food was very flavorful and I'm already planning my next trip there. I also have to say in a world where so many fast food industries are short staffed and barely take the time to engage with you when ordering this place was different. The employee who took our order was so warm and friendly. We will be coming back here.

Sauces were good. Burrito was not uniformly packed, once I got to the middle bite it was actually good. I don't like eating 40% of just rice. Tacos were decent. Ingredients were good. I'd give place another shot but I will order next time from the restaurant and get what I want. The translation from ordering from phone to results didn't match.

This place is so good, this is like going to Los or chipotle but definitely the best option. Great music, they got alcohol, fast and polite service. Thank you guys for a great experience

Loved this place when it first opened but not so much anymore. Most of my issues are around portion sizes. Included two pictures of their quesadilla for your viewing pleasure. It's really hit or miss and I am a sucker for consistency.

Food is good. But every single time we order, there is something missing from our order. Usually the side of salsa or guac or queso, which cost extra to add to your meal. This has happened enough times to piss me off. I'm not sure if it's poor staff training, laziness or cheapness, but I've learned my lesson and will not be ordering from here again.

Solid breakfast burrito place with an easy drive-thru. I was in town visiting and someone mentioned this place on local Reddit. I figured I'd try it out. We ordered the spicy chorizo and egg, and also the mild bacon and egg. I preferred the bacon and egg version- bacon was crispy and the pico was refreshing. The sausage was in cut up link form and was fine but not the texture I was looking for- the red chile for spice was good though. My 5 year old ate the bacon version without the pico and asked that we go back --- so I think that says more than anything I could.

The food is terrible. This review is based on one 3 flank steak taco meal. I couldn't finish my meal it was so bad. I refuse to waste my money on trying a different item. Taco Bell's tacos taste better and any fast food restaurant's fries are better. The hot sauce was awful as well. The food is way overpriced. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Well I ate my words and was tempted to try for 3rd time. The taco had one tortilla and it fell apart... MISSING crema, avocado, fresh salsa... I had to ask for crema... tacos have no personality, no distinction and one stingy tortilla won't hold up! I only have myself to blame. It came unadorned and the meat was just so so, no kick! Skip this if you have taco love, you'll feel jilted!

After telling a local that we went to a super good Mexican restaurant last night, he told me we did it wrong. I said, "What?! It was awesome!" He then proceeded to tell about this mythical new Mexican joint that just opened. He said, "Everybody in Naperville is talking about Guzman y Gomez." I now see why. This place is incredible. Now, it is NOT a sit-down restaurant. It IS a fast food Mexican spot (similar to a Chipotle or Q'doba). But it is next level. The ingredients seem super fresh, the food explodes with flavor, and the atmosphere is unreal. Literally, we walked in the front door and my jaw dropped. I want one of these closer to home. I am amazed. Great job GyG!!

Service was terrific. Food came out quickly and hot. Delicious!!! The chicken was just spicy enough. Fries were really good. Great staff great atmosphere. Will come back.

Preordered food for carry out. My order was ready when I arrived and service was quick. Condiment area was very clean and well stocked. After a short drive back to the hotel, the food was still hot. Hard shell tacos were very tasty. Fries were fresh and tasted great. Loved the guacamole. I plan to go back next time I'm in town.

We ordered delivery from here a few weeks ago. I'm a sucker for nachos so I ordered steak nachos and a chicken taco to try the next day. The nachos were ok. They had a nice portion of guacamole on it. I got their salsa and added a second but I feel they went a little light on the salsa overall. The taste was ok, but the portion was kind of small and they didn't hold up well for delivery. The taco was pretty good though! The chicken had a good grilled taste and it was filled with ingredients. I may try this place again but it's not going to be on the top of the list.

Solid meh. We went on a Friday night and it was very crowded (the newness factor probably partly to blame). Here's how it played out: - Ordered at the counter (choose from burritos, bowl, nachos, tacos, enchiladas). I ordered a taco, chips and queso and a lemonade. Was given a number on a table stand and a cup for my drink. - You get the drink yourself at a counter nearby that seems too crowded with to-go items. I got my lemonade, but none of the available lids would fit onto my cup. - Most of the table configurations are "share with others," and the bench seats were extremely uncomfortable. - Didn't take too long for food to arrive, but it was less exciting than similar stuff at Burrito Parilla or Chipotle. Queso needed spice, chips tasted stale, and chicken in the taco didn't wow me. - I tried dessert to see if I could offset the lackluster meal, but the churro sundae tasted like something that could have been bought from a convenience store; it was also more awkward to get this, as they placed it as a "to go" order (without asking me; I planned to eat in), so then I just had to stand around waiting while 4 people behind the counter seemed to be creating this dish. Overall, I prefer Burrito Parilla for this kind of meal.

Wow! Finally got to check out Naperville's New Mexican cuisine and man, oh man. The tacos were incredible, the staff was very friendly, and they have eco friendly products. One of the servers Ruben (I later asked his name) even told me, "thank you for coming in." There's a salsa station, the fries had a hint of lime. I was surprised to see fries on the menu but I was very pleased with the seasoning and the fresh taste. If you're dining in, you grab a number and the staff brings the food to you. Well done Gomez!

Came in on a Wednesday evening when the kitchen was less busy. The staff was friendly and helpful, explaining the three sauces available for garnish and asking customers if they needed anything with their meals. The decor was modern, fun, and inviting. Sautéed Vegetable Nachos - A bit on the thicker side of chips and weren't as crispy when I received them. Reminiscent of a Nachos BellGrande from Taco Bell, except with arguably more flavorful toppings. The cheese seemed to have disappeared to the bottom of the nachos and melted, which was difficult to eat with the chips. However, the vegetables tasted fresh! This is probably best eaten with a fork. Soft Vegetable Taco - chewy, but again, a stiffer taco than expected. Seemed as if the tortilla was too thick. It was nice to have the sauces available to place on top to make the flavoring more suitable and customizable Overall, while I enjoyed the ambiance and experience seeking out a new Mexican food chain, and while some of the sauces were excellent, I was disappointed and probably will not revisit.

111121 I will admit this was the best burrito I have had in a long time. The Burrito is the perfect size (Not a football size). Full of flavor that is for sure, look up the ingredients, you will taste it all. I did get the flank steak with all the ingredients but lettuce and in mild flavor. I also got the meal which included the fries/drink which were good but I'll probably do without that next time cause they were just fries in my opinion nothing special and pop. Get the Burrito you'll like it, wish they were a little closer

What a pleasant surprise. So fresh and delicious and moderately priced. Salsa bar offers 3 choices for your taste buds. The burrito bowl was plentiful and tart and the horchata(Mexican drink) was delicious.

I 100% prefer this place over Chipotle. More topping options, seems fresher, and bigger portions in my opinion for a lower price. One of my go to's when I want some quick Mexican food. I've never eaten inside but I really like the vibes from just walking in to pick up my food.

I can't speak on the food however, I walked in on a delivery for a client. As I walked in I saw a cluster of people scurrying about getting things ready for possibly opening however, the doors were opened!! A few people looked at me, including the cook(who glanced at me a couple times apparently he was too busy trying to get ready for something other than helping myself, and no one spoke to me or tried to help me! I saw the manager to the right of me in another room, however, we never locked eyes. I would never come here as a customer or recommend this place due to the service I received. Eventually a young lady did come out & quite frankly, I was surprised she had my order ready due to the way I saw everyone scurrying around! I would never dine here or get their carry out because of the awful service I received. This store needs a lesson in customer service.

Their burritos are sooo good! And the mini ones are perfect size for me. I like them better without the rice. Service is super efficient - Usually get food to go. Inside looks pretty nice.

First time trying GYG today and was pleasantly surprised. We completed our order on their website then drove through the drive thru for web order pick up. We ordered a grilled chicken burrito and shredded beef bowl. I can only speak to my chicken burrito but it was great! Food: the chicken is awesome. I like how they use both white and dark meat chicken. The taste of the chicken also tastes like it came right off the grill so the chicken was not dry. You can also add additional ingredients not typical of those you see at another large food chain burrito place. I added the smokey chipotle sauce which paired very nicely with the grilled chicken. I also added fresh jalapeños and cilantro and added guacamole (extra charge $2.75). I could have used a little more cheese and sour cream though. Size: pretty comparable to Chipotle. I typically add more ingredients to my chipotle burrito which make it the size of a football. The size was a little smaller, but probably what burritos should look like. I was still a little hungry after finishing; perhaps extra stuff next time will subside the appetite. The prices are pretty comparable to what you expect I think. My burrito was $9.75 (added guacamole). It's the first and only location in IL and USA currently so it's nice to have this close to home. I would definitely come back and check out that Cali burrito. The outside Mexican music in the drive thru adds a nice touch so... gracias!

This location is really hit or miss their food is either drastically horrible or absolutely fabulous and there is no in between there have been times I've gone there and the food is absolutely delicious. There's been other times I've gone there and the food tastes rotten. It's not super expensive, so I'll give it another whirl!

Food and service were both amazing. I got a pork and chicken tacos, a burrito and frozen margarita. Everything was fresh and so yummy. Big George and Little George at the Naperville location are dolls. They both stopped and chatted with me having great conversations. Let's me also take a moment to give a shout out to the staff, they were so kind, greeting people as they came in and talking to the guests, from the littles to the bigs as they left happy and full.
