First of all, I’ve to say that I’m quite surprised to see so many negative 1-2 star reviews for a restaurant that just opened 3 weeks ago and claims to be fully committed until mid Jan ‘26.
Looks like marketing did a great job in eloquently, but, falsely advertising the establishment, giving an impression that Las Vegas Gymkhana is a Michelin star restaurant. In fact, it’s NOT!! A quick google search reveals that it’s the London based Gymkhana that’s been certified Michelin 2 stars. This restaurant is a no star, in fact. Forget Michelin 🧐
Moving on to the Ambiance and decor. I have to admit that’s the only good thing going 😊 The fact that it’s inside one of the busiest and upscale Casinos resorts of Las Vegas (ARIA), Gymkhana might just pull thru its weight.
We ordered Beetroot Pav and Gol gappa as starters. Both were delicious. Very Small portions and absolutely over priced. When I say small, I really mean smaller than McDs kid menu.lol Hmm 🤔 wonder why ? Am I in a French restaurant or an Indian restaurant (entree’s are meant to be shared) ?
Main dishes : we ordered Rajasthani Okra , Khatta mitha Baingan (Eggplant) , chick pea masala, Salmon Tikka
Baingan (Eggplant) was good, although kinda sweet not authentic.
Okra was disgusting and dry. Almost felt like it was dehydrated before throwing into the frying pan that might have been used to make French fries. Huge disappointment. No sir we do not make okra like this. Okra or Lady’s finger is one of the most delicate vegetables that needs to be handled with absolute and utmost care to get the best taste out of it. Fun fact : Nobu ( Paris casino) uses raw Okra to make Veggie Cut rolls. Let me tell you those sushi rolls are super delicious @Nobu. If they can extract flavor outta raw okra, surely, an Indian restaurant with plethora of spices at its disposal can get flavor out of cooked Okra. Horrible taste and huge disappointment to the palet!
Chick peas - Half A** attempt to make Channa masala. Huge disappointment. Very little gravy , dry and hardly any taste. what happened to the TaDka Mr Chef ? Again super, small portions
Bread basket: Bread (Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti) was tasteless and felt like overcooked or burnt. Mr Chef, the bread needs to be moist and not chewy. It is not papadam, but Indian Naan and Tandoori roti that we were expecting. Quite disappointed, respectfully chef Sir.
Salmon Tikka - It was above average. I could not tell what the green paste on top of Salmon was. IMO it was unnecessary. Salmon is a very flavorful fish to begin with. Small garnish on top would have been enough.
Rice Pilaf - This is the only dish that carried some weight. Great presentation and good in taste . Looks like this may have been a signature dish that they followed by the book to prepare. Job well done.
Drinks : Drinks were average , no complaints. But, do I need to go to a hyped up Indian Restaurant to get a couple of hugely overpriced cocktails ?
Overall quite disappointed. Over priced. Super small portions. Will not come again, unless things change drastically. Good Luck 🍀
