First of all, the location is beautiful. Katara Hills is so nice. Second, our server Anushka went above and beyond for us the whole night. She catered to the kids who were causing a mess but she gave us 5 Star service the whole night.
Now the food? It’s worth the Hype. The starters were excellent. They had just introduced the new menu items which we tried with the Qeema Naan but the cult classics are still our favorites. The Gol Gappay (Pani Puri), come together so smooth but tasty. The aloo chaat was different but very very good.
Now the mains:
Butter Chicken- Excellent flavor. Also a lot of quantity and comes piping hot in some dinnerware that I’ve never seen but want.
Tandoori Chicken- This is from the new menu, it was grilled perfectly, and full of flavor. Not too much spice but just right. Had the right amount of lemon zest already in it.
Lamb Chops- Arguably the most famous dish here and for good reason. The chops are massive. It comes 3 to a plate and we added 1 more which ended up being overkill but with the chutney they give, it pairs very nice.
Tiger Prawns- Massive prawns. Also come 3 to a plate so we added 1 more food good measure. The masala is so good and creamy. Not spicy at all but there’s so much flavor here that I might say, they were the stand out tonight.
They gave us a Falooda on the house which was very good and a beetroot halwa which was something I’ve never tried before and you wouldn’t have been able to tell it was beetroot if they didn’t mention it.
Overall Gymkhana does what it set out to do, bring Indian Street food in a 5 star setting. Each dish is carefully curated and prepared and they don’t miss. Come make a reservation and enjoy without having to try to wait for 6 months in London.
