Where to Eat London’s Best Dumplings | Eater London

"The pillowy, pneumatic potato and ricotta dumplings at 40 Maltby St which are just called dumplings but might be called gnocchi if the word gnocchi — like all Continental culinary nomenclature — were not banned from the 40 Maltby St menu." - Jonathan Nunn

Read great reviews so popped over to get some dumplings. They were out of the steamed dumplings but gave us extra of the crispy to make up for it and they were incredible.....that chili oil is out of this world good

Hands down the best Gyozas you’ll ever experience I’ve tried many and will always return for a taste off these delicious, perfectly cooked parcels of joy Chef Amir is constantly experimenting with new flavours and ways to deliver his food The passion and dedication shows with the work that goes into selling these at the market every week I’m grateful that they’ve made it through 2020 and 2021 and will no doubt keep going from strength to strength In an ever changing landscape of Maltby street traders this business has remained a familiar landmark and reference point Try them any time of the day to satisfy your umami desires and quell that need for some spice in your life!

Some of the best street food I've ever had! I got the mi goreng udon with satay, which was so flavour-packed and delicious. The chili oil (which they sell in jars) is to die for. The staff were also delightful and were able to provide recommendations, as it was my first time there.

One of the best meals we've ever had! Street food is always incredible but these place is hands down one of the best. Owner had great banter too. Highly recommended

We had the chicken satay gyozas. They were very tasty. Loved the sauce. Would have loved a bit more of it. Next time we'll have the Korean ones.

Awesome gyoza, generously filled, delicious sauces on top. I went to Maltby Street Market specifically for them and I didn't get disappointed. I'm so glad that they convinced me to take the bento box because I almost liked the Udon noodles and the salad more than the gyoza. The more I ate, the more I liked it. As you eat, you get trough layers and layers of Japanese cuisine flavour. It was great, I will definitely go and find them again!

I’m a regular love the dumplings here, Ahmir and the Gyoza guys are very friendly and always take care of us. If you’re ever in Maltby market give these a shot, it won’t disappoint!

Nice dumplings but charging 80p for 2 ml of chilli oil is slightly ridiculous.

Yelp
Get your shxt together. Don't offer a bento box with vegan gyozas and can't substitute for the shrimp and chicken and pork ones. Inflexible staff that don't communicate properly. Vegetarian gyoza for £2 each piece? I better become part goddess after my meal. So angry after my experience!!

Yelp
Crispy and fresh but not a fan of the filling: expected fresh chives / meat / mushrooms etc but it was more like a paste (think fishballs). The chilli oil was good though.

Yelp
I had the pan fried dumplings and I could easily say one of my, if not, my favorite meal I've had in London. I wish my stay was a bit longer so I can have more of their great food.
