Were looking for a place to stop on the tail end of a long trip, and was glad we found Gypsy Blu. Our waitress was great and very attentive. Was in the mood for a burger, and went with the smash burger. Got the "gypsy spuds" ...basically it was kind of like home fries, and it was a nice change of piece from the usual French fries. My wife enjoyed her cocktail and a salad with grilled shrimp. Nice atmosphere sitting outside watching folks stroll around downtown Ambler. Nice spot!

We were looking for somewhere to grab lunch on a Saturday and we’re so glad we stumbled into Gypsy Blu! We came in because of the many people sitting outside (food fomo). The inside of the restaurant is very well decorated and nice and cool for a hot day. Our waitress was super kind and management checked on us midway through. I got the short ribs for a heavier lunch. The sauce was flavorful, the green beans soft, and the potatoes crunchy. This was a great lunch that made for some good left overs later. Very happy with the price for this portion and for our other dishes. We also got the short rib tacos, which were a great bite. We got a burger, which was cooked well. The bbq chicken flatbread also had a great sauce and was very enjoyable. Would definitely if in the Ambler area! I noticed they have live music from their schedule board so we would love to return for that experience too.

Food was great. We sat outside to enjoy the weather. Came for brunch, no lunch menu, just breakfast, but ended up enjoying some outstanding breakfast tacos.

The food here was very good! I got the Lamb burger with ground lamb, tzatziki, goat cheese, & pickled onions. I wanted it medium rare, I got it medium well. Normally, that would annoy me a lot, but it was very moist and delicious so we’re good. Next time i definitely would prefer medium rare, but it was truly a phenomenal burger. My customers lunches were also phenomenal. Everybody was happy all around. The outdoor seating was also great. Hats off to the staff for being very attentive and kind. I cannot wait to come back here! 9.5/10

Google
Excellent, amazing, highly recommend. Angelina our server was truly friendly and professional. This is our new go to pub and restaurant. I will fault only one thing, I found about three pieces of crab shell. The crab should have been cleaned better. Other than this, the food was extremely creative, well prepared, and absolutely yummy!

Google
I came here to celebrate a friends birthday. The building had character and was very different from the many other restaurants I’ve been too. Apparently there is a story behind this place… you can look into it. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely like to come back and have dinner here.

Google
Really enjoyed this place! Came here for brunch and the food was great. There was a diverse selection of vegan/vegetarian options and the server, Allison, was fantastic; very attentive, knowledgeable, professional, and personable (especially for a brunch service). Can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu! Indoor space is large and updated enough to feel quaint and cozy.

Google
Large restaurant with a variety of seating options and good quality food. The chips were a unique appetizer. We enjoyed them, so next time we will have to go for the Mexican street corn option. The lb burger was well cooked with a good serving of cheese. The Caesar salad side was surprisingly good. The Saint Patrick's Day special, shepherds pie came out nicely. Great beer selection available.

Yelp
Busy place - noisy . Considering everything price seemed a little high but not exorbitant . No specific parking lot

Yelp
This rating is four plus a little more. The staff is very nice and attentive. Starting with the greater who actually was incredibly pleasant to our server who split our meal that we shared onto two plates. Happy Hour runs until 7:00 pm so we grabbed the homemade chips with blue cheese and the deviled eggs. Both were two dollars off as well as the beer I got. Things came out quickly and we decided to share the chicken and pickle sandwich with a side of Gypsy Spuds. Those alone are worth the trip if you like potatoes. They are small roasted red potatoes slightly smashed and seasoned plus scallions. They were quite good. The chicken sandwich was crispy and well cooked. I would have liked a bit more zing in the sauce but my wife loved it. This place wasn't always great but seems to be turning things around with the new management. The happy hour is great and makes it a solid option on the Ambler strip.

Yelp
Sooooooo cozy and the food was pure stuff of comforts. Seriously, get the Gypsy spuds as a side for your main. Classic tavern-style dinner! My lamb burger was cooked just as I asked-- rare-medium, and so, so juicy. Our drinks were also delicious and plenty strong. I had a Tea Time (bourbon cocktail on the rocks with earl grey, plum bitters, and an orange peel) and have nothing but good stuff to say about it. We loved our server who bantered with us and was very friendly and attentive. If you're in town a while, don't miss the chalkboard pillars by the bar! It's updated with events. Overall, a super fun night out with friends.

Yelp
Day old scrambled rubbery eggs. Extended, extra long wait for no apparent reason and no explanation/apology provided. Tuna/bacon sandwhiche is good. Probably will not return.

Michael W.

Yelp
First time here. Enjoyed sitting outside. Two adults and a child split two apps and a flatbread. Everyone liked it and my son wished he could have gotten two more orders of deviled eggs.

Yelp
Excellent place - sauce night Wednesday was a great place for an outdoor dinner. The food (rigatoni bolognese) was excellent as was the house salad. The portion size was pretty big so actually the takeout gave me another meal. They were very accommodating for my dates dog I may even had a doggy menu so it was a very pleasant experience.

Yelp
If I could give this place a zero star, I would!! so disappointed in the owner of this place This past Saturday when my family came in with a very large group of people that would have given them plenty of business ,I was with my entire family and many friends honoring the memory of my brother-in-law, Steve, who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer five months ago, we were raising money for the pan can research for this disease. This establishment was notified well in advance that we were coming My sister and her sons were told to take everyone out and leave the establishment for no other reason other than they didn't want our business, I will never set foot in this establishment again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know what he did to us!

Yelp
Maybe it was a rough Sunday but I was underwhelmed with the Brunch meal. Our waiter was nice but he normally bartends so he was struggling with our order. The food was average at best and had a glass of wine which the glass was only a 1/4 full. Unfortunately cannot recommend this place.

Yelp
I came here for a burger, but it was a little disappointed. Do not come here for food. Come here for drinks and to be friendly. It needs a little pick me up. A little down on the dumps. This place the burger was asked medium. It came back well done. my son said don't go to a place like this for food. He was right. He said nobody else has food on their table. He was right. He said dad you always pick the wrong place. He was right.

Yelp
This is a true 5 star establishment! From the owner, to the managers, to all the servers and bartenders, I am so happy to have found this go-to spot in Ambler! I am doing a show at a theater down the street, and everyone here has been so lovely and welcoming to me and my friends in the show. It is a great local business! I have been here an embarrassing amount of times the past few weeks, and every time is top notch. Some of my favorites are the touch of pineapple cocktail (perfect if you love a spicy margarita!), burrata appetizer, fries, fried chicken sandwich, ricotta chicken flatbread, arugula salad, and shrimp tacos. You really can't go wrong here! Special shout out to Alexis, the best bartender around!!

Yelp
I participate in a bar crawl every year to honor my late uncle by raising money and awareness for cancer. This past weekend we were all kicked out by the owner before most of us could even get served. I'm not sure what his problem is, but if he keeps it up he'll keep losing business. The atmosphere and food are usually good, but after this experience I won't ever return and I'll make sure to tell everyone else not to go there because of how poor of an attitude the owner has.

Anita C.

Yelp
The food was awesome. The little petite manager and the hairdresser waitress both are REAL DINGBATS! Whoever hired them are doing a disservice to the business. Not to impressed either with the female bartender. Next time, I'll do a takeout order so I can bypass these 3 people. for the amount you pay for the food you think you are getting better elevated service. NOT

Yelp
Gianna was our waitress. Excellent. Friendly and so professional. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was so fun.

Yelp
We went to Gypsy Blu in Ambler after googling "best restaurant in Ambler" and this popped up first. Well it over - delivered. The food and drinks were superb. We began with a flatbread with carmelized onions, fig jam, balsamic, feta cheese, arugula. Amazing. In parallel, I had the Rum Me Over drink and my husband had the Spice on Ice Old Fashioned. Both superb. We had a late lunch so dinner was only French Onion Soup and one of the best I have found. My husband had the Mushroom Risotto. Our server Ryan was perfect. Right level of help, there when we needed him, thorough, efficient and knowledgeable. Add to that humble and fun. A catch for the ladies too. We also had the manager Chris make sure we were doing fine. It's always a nice touch that an extremely busy manager spends a few minutes to make sure your night is great. We highly recommend Gypsy Blu in Ambler. We look forward to going again. Also, they have quite an event space and speakeasy we would love to use sometime as well. Don't miss asking about it if you need a space.

Yelp
I really wish I could give this place a higher rating because the staff was so great, super attentive and sweet, but the food just wasn't worth the price. For the amount of money I was spending, I expected high quality food, but what I got was reheated and unseasoned beyond a dash of spicy mayo. Very disappointing. Two stars because the atmosphere and people were nice, it's just the actual food and the price for what it was.

Yelp
The food is mediocre. The service a bit creepy. Not bad, but in these inflationary times, save your money for something better

Mae N.

Yelp
This restaurant used to be great if I could leave a no star I would ..seems like since around Christmas time it's gotten really bad, the quality of food is poor , not sure what's going on but I won't be going back and I used to eat at Gypsy Blue often with family and friends and we all have noticed the food has definitely gone down hill

Linda R.

Yelp
My friend and I went for brunch. My eggs Bennie was delicious. Her omelet was really good too. But the potatoes. Oh they were divine. The service was attentive. The room bright and cheery. Thanks!
google avatar

Yelp
My friend has been telling me to check this place out for awhile and I went the other day on a weekend, for brunch. The brunch menu has a few great options and they also have $20 unlimited mimosas. I ordered the chicken and waffles but there were a few other great contenders. The waffles were sooo amazing, the chicken was a little too crispy- too much oil and it would be better if there was more. Overall the flavors were good. I'll have to come back and try their dinner and drinks later. I also loved the interior, the bar was beautiful and the rest of the restaurant was decorated really well.

Yelp
High quality dining experience! Excellent food and drinks and great service! Lots of history in this restaurant.

Yelp
Met here for a drink and appetizers on a rainy afternoon. First time in Ambler. Ordered Mussels and a beer. Mussels in the red sauce were tasty. Dinged them a star because we ordered mussels in a white sauce, but received red. When we questioned it, communication was difficult. We were hungry and ready to eat. We suggested leaving the red and bringing an order of white. It took another 15 minutes to get it right. No $ adjustment was offered.
google avatar

Sherry D.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. Service was great, server was attentive but not overbearing. We ate the devil eggs, shrimp & grits and the chicken & waffles. The waffles were a little too sweet for my taste but bearable. Chicken breast was juicy and crispy. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Put an awesome time at a holiday party at Gypsy blue for the Ambler holiday parade Reid balcony views with a great brunch and lunch menus accompanied by excellent holiday drink menu

Wendy H.

Yelp
We recently had a bridal shower at Gypsyblu. I can't say enough good things about the venue, teams and food! Any event for a wedding can be stressful but Carol and her team pulled it off with ease. Perfect place to have an event!

Mary Beth D.

Yelp
Sitting on the terrace on a beautiful WARM evening and the outdoor heater is blasting. Management won't turn it off be cause they" want the light for when it gets dark"......in an hour and 45 minutes. Still got my sunglasses on! Food is good though.
google avatar

Yelp
Food sucked so below average not unbeatable but just not ok for the level we deserve. Abler needs to do better for brunch
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
I returned to Gypsy Blu after a couple years as part of the Hamblerger event recently and understand again how unwelcoming it is to go there. It was odd to have a restaurant participate in an event but make the ticket holders feel like a burden for showing up.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent dinner spot, so many food and drink options, and best part is live music on weekends. Our waitress was so nice and fun, which made for a fun girls dinner. Really loved the eggplant sandwich and the kale salad was pretty good, but just so much kale! Loved the Buffalo cauliflower app. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Two words: MIMOSA TOWER. Oh my goodness. Didn't even know this was an option here. It's an 88 ounce tower of mimosa that has a dispenser at the end. It's $40 per tower and serves 12 people. There were 13 in our party, so we ordered 2 towers. Sunday Funday was a success. We came here for brunch with a reservation for 11:30am. Christian was our server. He was a sweetie and laughed with us whenever we joked with him. He also took our group photo right before we left. Such a helpful young man. Thanks, Christian! A woman (didn't catch her name) walked over to the table after Christian took our drink order and asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion since there were so many of us. She did take the time to acknowledge the 4 birthdays we were celebrating and that was very nice. I ordered the Veggie Benedict (can't go wrong with a Benny) and it was incredible. It has spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and a poached egg and is topped with hollandaise sauce. I split the egg open with a knife and saw the yolk pour down onto my fries. What a beautiful sight. Home fries were crispy, and came with a side of ketchup. Parking here is a little difficult. They don't have a parking lot. The side streets are mostly metered parking, however, if you go on a Sunday you won't have to feed the meter. We were made aware that only 2 credit cards can be used per check. If you come with a group of people, be sure to bring cash. It'll be a whole lot easier. I have to mention how gorgeous the restaurant is inside. Very shabby chic and stunning at the same time. Great food and even greater service! Will be back here to try their lunch/dinner menu sometime.

Kathy G.

Yelp
We went for lunch. Burgers and salad. Very good hot food! Waitress was chatty and talked about the building and the entertainment there. Very nicely done!

Mrs T.

Yelp
Great food. Too loud sometimes, but the drinks are good and it has gluten free options on the menu.

Yelp
Tried this out today! They have cute outdoor seating but we were sat inside. They have nice decor inside as well. Service was fast our food came out quick. We got the chips with short rib and cheese curds. The cheese curds Were cold and would have tasted better if they were warmed up and we ask for extra cheese. The chips were good but the appetizer was overpriced for what you got. The short rib had no flavor. The shrimp tacos were good, there were 3 and the coleslaw was well made. We also got the plain Caesar salad and the chicken and pickle sandwich. The chicken tasted more like a thigh than a breast which was smaller than expected. It was a lot breading that made it look bigger. I personally like the Popeyes chicken sandwich over this and for a much lesser price. I think there could be improvements in the kitchen.

Yelp
Cocktails are spectacular. The food is excellent. We will be back. One of those special places in thar area that doesn't break the bank and brings more value with excellent food and service.

Yelp
I had an opportunity to visit this establishment twice. Town and atmosphere, along with the potential are great and the facility has some excellent opportunities. But some work to do. Review: Food was "decent" not anything off the charts by any means, objectively speaking - prices are not inexpensive and the biggest concern was the two conversations I overheard from others, profanity at the bar area and the servers - let's just say they tend to "push the limits" with upselling and take full advantage of the crowd. Pay very close attention to your check and the ethics of this place - sneaky. My advice - take a wonderful place, optimize it and watch your staff - remember, business will succeed with basic intelligence and approach.

Yelp
My wife and I just had a lovely meal at Gypsy Blu. Everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the meal. I had a good burger and the short rib flat bread was very good. We sat next to bookcase that led to an upstairs speakeasy. Very cool. We will be back.

Bernice Bunny L.

Yelp
If haven't been you must try ..Dinner was delicious. service terrific.. so glad we came tonight..Love it here!!

Yelp
Had lunch today with my wife. First time at Gyspy it will not be the last. Located in Ambler new owner took over right as pandemic hit. Place is spotless old building great feel. Lunch selection was good. Young lady who was our waitress Caroline was very polite &prompt whole staff was courteous.shrimp tacos & spare ribs were excellent. Spare ribs in gravy were perfect.Owner Bob Ross told us alittle about place very friendly. We will definitely be back to try dinner.

Yelp
I would give it 0 stars. they are liars and steal your money. i booked a party and there was no where for my guests to park due to a music festival because I have 2 disabled family members. they refused to refund my $212. in addition 2 of my family members showed up for dinner because they didn't get the message about the cancelled party. absolutely disgusting people with zero compassion.

Yelp
As an Ambler local we LOVE Gypsy Blu! Great for date nights or a brunch with the family. Bob (the owner) always says hi and makes us feel welcome! Great food and great energy.
google avatar

Faye K.

Yelp
This review is solely on the drinks and the atmosphere. I never ate here for some odd reason but always come to this place for drinks after dinner. The new owners of this place made this place wayyyyyy cuter than before. However, I question the table arrangement sometimes because it is so random and it gets in our way of walking. The drinks are good and STRONG. I almost died drinking a bloodymary. Its good that drinks are strong but...not like a light weight like me. They have this cotton candy drink and when I ordered it, they said the machine was broken....then when they fixed the machine, they gave us 3 cotton candies! NOW that's good customer service. Everyone is super friendly here, never had a bad time.

Yelp
I ate at Gypsy Blu with my family the night before Thanksgiving and had a good time! The decor is very eclectic, yet inviting. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the new manager is definitely on her game. FOOD: We shared the fried calamari and cheesesteak egg rolls. Both were devoured! The calamari was pretty flavorless on its own, but had a good texture. The aioli that came with it made up for the lack of flavor. The sriracha ketchup that came with the egg rolls was a nice pairing. Personally, I had the Chicken Marianne with Brussels sprouts instead of mashed potatoes and thoroughly enjoyed it, except for the canned tomatoes that were tossed in there. They could've been left out altogether, and I am a tomato fan. The Chicken Parmesan was way over cooked and the tomato sauce at this restaurant isn't the best. The Chicken Quesadilla was huge! It was tasty and so was the guacamole that came with it. The Gypsy Burger was flavorful! It's the only burger on the menu and rightfully so. The brownie and tres Leche desserts were amazing! The entire dessert menu looked so good and slightly different from what you see in the area, so that's a plus. They also have a dog menu! How cute is that? There are some inconsistencies with the food, so that's something the kitchen really needs to work on, ex: two Gypsy Burgers ordered medium and one comes out medium and the other closer to rare. The pricing is a little expensive for the quality and consistency, but falls in with the norm for the area. ATMOSPHERE: We were so intrigued by the decor that the manager offered to take us on a tour of the private area upstairs, which I've included pictures of. It's perfect for parties and demonstrations! One thing I would LOVE to see is a bigger sign on the outside of the building. The building itself is large, but the sign is small and stands on the sidewalk. It's easy to drive by without seeing it. We were leaving just as the Thanksgiving Eve crowd was coming in and that place got PACKED! I will definitely come back and tell others.

Yelp
Went to Gypsy Blu on a whim. Great weather equals AMAZING outdoor eating. We even took our dog, and they came to the table with a water bowl for her! The service was top notch. Our server, Jennie, was friendly and I asked for a suggestion. The chicken and waffles were so tasty and crunchy. Yum. My husband ordered an avocado toast with turkey bacon and egg sandwich which he completely demolished. All food was served in a timely manner. Oh, it was acoustic Sunday morning and the young man playing guitar sounded just like a professional coffee house player. Great selection of songs. We are already talking about what we are going to order next time we go to Gypsy Blu.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
We went for dinner upstairs and to hear the live music. Very accommodating bartender. Made a custom drink for me. Ordered the mussels. Sauce really had no flavor. Small portion of mussels as well. Ordered the burger mess or whatever it was called. Once again no flavor and came with a side of what were really hash browns. Very cool space though. Food just needs more flavor.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with some girl friends because the word is they have amazing dessert. First the ambiance is adorable. Ambler is such a cute town. We had their coconut cake which was delicious. It was creamy yet dense which I love in cake. Their apple pie egg rolls had a crunch in every bite and pair perfectly with vanilla ice cream. My least favorite was the crème brûlée. I felt like it was missing something but if I'm being honest, I wouldn't mind getting it again. To sum it all up, I'm not sure about the food or drinks but I would go back for the dessert
google avatar

Yelp
First, I have to say that the service at Gypsy Blue was excellent. The outdoor seating on the busy Ambler street was fun and relaxing. The food came out quickly yet we were never rushed to leave despite how busy they were. Now to the food. Very underwhelming. I ordered the shrimp scampi with spaghetti. I could have done a much better job making this at home. The shrimp were plump and fresh, and there were six of them in the dish. But the dish was drenched in the bland oily garlic wine sauce, so much that it splashed around every time I took a bite. They broke the spaghetti before cooking it, so instead of nice twirlable noodles, they were little broken pieces. And, the spaghetti didn't taste very good. Maybe undercooked- I don't know. I also ordered a side salad, which was real tiny and just a few ingredients. Nothing special. I might give this restaurant another chance. Maybe I'll just never order the shrimp scampi again. But overall, I wish we had gone elsewhere.

Yelp
First time ever eating here, Christina was my server, I told her it was my first time here and asked for the best the menu and she recommended the crab cakes and she was right they were amazing. The service was amazing, the food was out of this world I will definitely be back and I will bring friends. Top notch! Very impressed! Managment staff even stopped by to check on my nearly empty plate (Food so good It was gone in about 60sec) . I even had desert lemoncello-mascarpone cake ( try it, it speaks for itself) . Cocktails were perfect, and I'm a bourbon snob. I tip my hat!! Very good first impression. I will be back, without a doubt. Thank you, Mike

Yelp
I was not thrilled with the noise level in the restaurant. I also did not enjoy the pompous owner and the expensive prices for subpart food and over price drinks that are awful

Yelp
What a wonderful night last night. Had our 40th high school reunion. The waitstaff was so nice and accommodating. Creative drinks plus a wide range of wine and beer options. Was so surprised how reasonable my alcohol bill was. And the apps were fun! Can't wait to go back for another occasion.

Yelp
We went here for the first time last night. We had high expectations based off of the restaurant's appearance and menu. The atmosphere is great! Super cute inside and out. We unfortunately weren't able to get a table outside, so we sat inside. My husband got the turkey burger and cole slaw. The burger had a few crumbles of feta and a few sad pieces of cooked spinach on it. It was super underwhelming. The side of coleslaw was really small and had no seasoning. My husband is a big coleslaw guy and he was disappointed. I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries. The server said the fries were "the best in the area". Again the portion of fries were small and they were nothing special at all. Similar to McDonald's fries actually. The chicken on my sandwich was too small for the bun, so there were a lot of bites of just bun. It also said it had spicy mayo on it...must have been a very small amount because I tasted nothing. The whole sandwich was overall dry and not exciting at all. Both of our entrees were almost $20 each as well. The food here is nothing special at all.
